The app was designed only for Chinese users. - Cannot enter spaces in the Wi-Fi password, an incredibly stupid oversight. - Using any other language, the layout of some numbers and text becomes misaligned. - Not all text is translated. - Time zone needs to be set manually, otherwise defaults to China time. - Time zones do not support daylight saving times. - Despite selecting imperial units, some parts of the app seem to be hard-coded to metric units, thereby causing issues. - If signing up for an account, password is limited to 6-14 characters. This is a strong indication that the passwords are either not being stored securely on their servers, and/or they are using weak hashing algorithms with hard-coded limits. Either way, it reflects poor programming practices and is an immediate red flag. Overall, this app seems like it was made for mainland China users then haphazardly ported to the international community. (Fortunately, I can read Chinese so I can get by fine.)
App won’t connect to device and customer service in not available during hours indicated
Literally the title of the review. I have owned the Scooper SE BayMax cat litter box for a little over a week and I have not ever been able to link the device to the app. I continue to get “Device Connection Failed!”. When I attempt to contact customer service between 10am and 6pm eastern, it either disconnects or says that I am calling outside business hours. The app is garbage, and the automatic functioning of the litter box cannot be used without the app. Do better…
It's a very bad application. It's difficult to set up, and it's hard to find the necessary functions. The kit comes with three chips, of which only one works. I've tried setting up the other two by deleting the information and reconfiguring them, but nothing works. It lacks many functions to make it simple and easy to use. It's not intuitive at all, and you have to go around in circles to find what you're trying to set up, and even then, it's impossible to achieve.
I bought this about a year ago and so far I’m about probably 80% happy with it. Very disturbed that they keep saying they’re going to get a extended warranty and it never is available and they give you the runaround. Also, sometimes it doesn’t empty and I have to do a clean myself overall it’s an OK machine, but I wish that I got a different one with a better warranty.
The catlink pro luxury works fine when nothing goes wrong. But when things go wrong, they go very, very wrong. And it just exposes how bad the whole thing is. I accidentally turn off the wifi function when I cleaned the machine. And when I turn it back on, the wifi was blinking indicated there is no connection between the Catlink and the phone. And now I cannot re-connect them, cannot unbind to start a new connection. Just. Frustrating.
I love the litter box. It’s very quiet but very big. I’m okay with the size since I have an 18 pound cat and he needs the room. The instruction manual that comes with the litter box is not clear enough when trying to pair with WiFi and the app. I think that really needs an over haul. Once you get it connected, my only complaint about the app is I would like to see an option to change the weights from kg to pounds. When you have more than one cat using the box and a couple of them are very close in weight, I don’t have time to move decimal points in my head to try and figure out which cat really used it. I think my next linked item will be the collar.

While I was able to connect to a device, and can see updates, I have couple of major issues with the app: 1. Your definition of today is different from my definition of today. All dates and times have to be adjusted to my time zone. 3. Font that shows the time in messages is grey on white and tiny. Why?

There is no place to register from the app. So that I registered from their website, then use the user name and password to login the app. But the app won’t let me login and asked me to register first. Stucked and so frustrated.

The setup is one of the most nonsensical I’ve seen for an “internet of things device”. First off why is the location required for Wi-Fi setup? Only Chinese is given as an explanation. I had to google translate it to find out the answer is that apple limits Ssid sharing. Which begs the question, why can I not just type in the ssid and password? That would have been significantly faster and easier then 20 minutes it took and back forth trying figure out why the app kept redirecting to the settings menu. Once in the app itself isn’t any better. Many nondescript icons are used that are confusing unless you have their meaning memorized. There are also awkward translation terms like “bind” cat and “re distribution network”. I can only guess what those are trying to tell me to do. Also unit of measure conversion would be nice.
The litter box is fine. But the app is garbage. It took 1-2 hours to even set up and that’s only because it went back and forth on connecting to the wifi and not connecting and kicking me out of the app multiple times. Once connected, it would ONLY work 20% of the time. When logging in, if I’m lucky, it’ll show me the litter box and allow me to use the app away from home. 80% of the time, it allows me to log in and nothing. It doesn’t show any device connection or cat info. I can be at home and it won’t show any device connection. And once setting the country, I have to set it each and every time instead of the app remembering it. That’s a minor inconvenience but for how much this was, the app being hot garbage is absolutely frustrating and irritating. I’m debating if I want to return everything and ask for my money back. It’s a shame because the litter box works great.
Just got the cat box set up a few days ago. So far the litter box itself seems to work great as a litter box but the app is lacking. I only have one cat and half the time it says her name …visited the box. Other times it says ….cat…seems have visited box. The weight that it detects for her varies by pounds every time she uses it, which I’m guessing is why it thinks multiple cats use it. I did the zero out process it says to do when I first plugged it in so not sure why weight is messed up. Would also be nice if could change settings for kg to pounds and Celcius to Fahrenheit. I did contact customer service regarding this. They had me uninstall app, reinstall and reconnect litter box. So far, it’s still not working properly. Waiting to hear back from them again. Will update if I get it working right.
The unit came assembled. Take it out, plug it in, already had a bag inserted, now I just have to wait for Buddy to get the nerve to crawl in. He was used to his other unit, the Litter Robot. He doesn’t like change!
Been using this for over a month and changed my phone number on this phone last week and it was working as usual. Still have three old number but now the app says I don't have an account. Frustrating
I have to constantly re install the app. The litter box keeps disconnecting and it’s just not working. After spending $700 on a litter box that requires an app I assumed the app would work better. It also hasn’t worked in automatic mode either. Tired of having to delete and reinstall the app to get anything to work
Ok, I got the app to work after calling customer service. Very annoying it takes so much to get it set up to wifi, but everything else is working great
The actual cat litter robot works well but the app is truly horrible for the following reasons: 1) poorly translated English in the app, often does not make sense 2) need to login every single time 3) I have to constantly delete and reinstall app for my linked product to show up - most times upon login there is nothing showing The app alone makes me regret the purchase and as I said, the actually litter robot works well but the whole point is to be able to manage this through an app and see status updates, etc.
These guys could literally pay any English speaker $5 to fix their typos and language incongruence. They make you add an account and register a phone number but their system doesn’t work.
This app does not work with my CATLINK litter box at all. If done all the troubleshooting, re-installs, etc. Needs major updating and also would be helpful if it was in the language of the purchaser on instructions, etc. Definitely not worth the money for the upgrade.
I have spent over an hour trying to connect the litter box to my Wifi as it's sitting next to my Wifi box. It keeps telling me can not connect. What a waste of money. Not impressed at all! I will be sending this huge box back.

Purchased the Cat Link on Amazon several months ago and had yet to install the App to iOS. Just installed today and well, all I can say is what a disappointment! Doesn’t recognize my credentials, therefore create profile on website, go back to App and Nada! I WILL be contacting support if there is such a thing!
