Please set the fan timer so value is persistent, not once
I bought this fan assuming that it had an internal timer that would shut it down? The timer value only works once. You set time from the iOS app, but this timer value only works once, and then whenever you subsequently switch on the fan at the wall it runs forever. Can you please update the firmware so the timer works every time you switch it on at the wall, based on timer setting in app? Until then I would NOT RECOMMEND this fan since it doesn’t have the basic functionality you expect in a fan. It should not run forever when turned on at the wall.
I’ve tried pairing this system using my iPhone. Which should be easy, right? SO WRONG! Usually when pairing new devices, you simply go to Bluetooth and the BT locates the thing you're pairing. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING APPEARS! I downloaded the app and unsuccessfully tried pairing again using the app. However, even the pairing on the app was a dud! I don’t have Alexa, nevertheless every other system or device I’ve wanted to connect with 10 of 10 times appears and then boom, it’s all set! Due to this fact, I would not recommend this fan. I’m sure there are other user friendly fan vents on the market that are more simplified! Shop around, and READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING, is my suggestion. I let my husband take the reins on this purchase. That was my first mistake. Cheaper is NEVER necessarily better in my case! #buyersremorse
I initially had several of the issues that other people are talking about. Wall remote wouldn’t work, app was glitchy, then wouldn’t work at all. Color changing wasn’t working.. etc. I called the service line and he walked me through the steps on how to get it all working again. The steps were nothing crazy and so far, everything works fine. The app is slow initiating commands sometimes but it works. I don’t feel like fixing these glitches will be anything crazy for the company as it seems to just be software issues. Be patient and things should be fine with your unit.
MAKE SURE ITS CONNECTED THROUGH BLUETOOTH IN YOUR PHONE SETTINGS BEFORE USING EACH TIME!!! Just like any Bluetooth speaker. Works great, lots of features I didn’t expect like a timer for the fan for effortless dehumidification after showers, series of color combinations(scenes) with very broad ability to customize(single colors too). Only one glitch, when colored light is on for some reason I can only control the brightness/dimmer with the remote, as doing with the app makes it switch to white for some reason.
Why? One-instance time, no automatic control option?
Maybe I’m missing something but why have a timer if you can only set it once to turn off the fan. And then when the fan goes on again the timer is gone and has to be set again with each shower. Each time the fan goes on the timer should have an option to hold that pre-set timer so the fan never runs for longer than x-minutes selected. This would help save energy while also automating the fan functionality. The fan has no need to run longer than 30-60min. But if you don’t set the timer on your app with EACH shower instance then it will just run forever. If the app is supposed to hold the timer, I can say it’s not doing that. Bad design if not an option.
I am updating my review and removing a star, because your response to my message for your devs was to ask me to spend more time calling people. No, this is it. If you can’t figure this out, I am sorry. “Thanks - we’ve passed this on to our devs.” would have been a proper response. Original review: Please fix. I can’t create a new scene. When trying to name it, the screen jumps up and out of view permanently. Then I must force quit the app because nothing else can be done.
Initially I was able to pair the Bluetooth to my iPhone and enjoyed it several times. For no known reason it will no longer pair to my iPhone. Very frustrating to feel stuck with something that worked for a short time and then no longer work! 😡
Had a good experience with it. Was able to switch the light color, dim it, and such while in the bath. Not sure why it only had 1 star ~ it’s a very simple and basic app, more like a remote, but what else should it be lol
I love this fan, light and speaker and would give it a 5, but it doesn’t stay connected to Bluetooth. I found that I have to got into settings to reconnect it to Bluetooth each time I want to use it. Once connected I love it. The speaker is amazing!
If I set a color and then turn off wall switch light returns to white when I turn the switch on This makes the RGB function useless to me How can I have it retain the color I chose without opening the app ??
Can no longer pair this unit with the app even when it states “connected” on my iPhones bluetooth. This is the problem with buying a product with an app… You spend a lot of money to have a crappy app or the app to just stop working and then a canned response from the developer saying the same thing and not fixing the issue.
The software has a huge bug making the fan and lights inoperable after only one use. After installing the app it allows me to turn the fan on but then gets stuck and stays on and doesn’t allow me to turn the fan off. I literally have to reinstall the app to turn it off!!!
We’re excited about our new fan. The only draw back is that only one device can be connected at a time so we will have to disconnect from it every time in order for other family members to use it 🤔
ChromaConnect app is great it connects to my bathroom vent via bluetooth after it finds the device quickly and allows me to control the light colors! So fun!
Every time that I leave out of my bedroom with my IPhone/IPad, whichever one is connected to my bluetooth, the speaker automatically disconnects. I have to go to the breaker box to turn the switch off for twenty minutes then turn it back on for the bluetooth to connect. It’s ridiculous
I can get the speaker to play, but that’s it. Every time I go into the app it says it can’t find any device even though I’m in the same room and my music is playing through the speaker. I can’t get to any of the remote functions for the lighting or fan controls. Terrible app.
Cannot connect to speaker. Purchased two fans for restrooms. Worked only for a few weeks and now cannot connect. Cannot get through technical assistance. Number rings then hangs up. Do not recommend purchasing.
Lighting works fine but the speaker/connect does not. I would not waste my time or money on this again. The app does not connnect with the device, multiple attempts with the same result.. device not located, try again.. done waisting my time..
When you broadcast it has an app people think it means WiFi control. This is the absolute worst. In two years you will probably discontinue this app and then what will we use to control the “advanced” features
The fan and light seems to function okay. But trying to do anything with the lights through the app is a headache. The app is sooo glitchy. I wish there was an option to make the different light colors cycle faster as well.
Look at the reviews for this app. I feel stupid for having bought this product. The app does not recognize my device, my phone does not recognize the device. It is useless as a speaker if it can’t connect to WiFi. The app immediately tries to find a device, and there is no way to create an account, or do any of the other steps outlined in the device instructions The manufacturer clearly doesn’t care
Speaker connects for a few days then disconnects again
I have the smae issue it connects for a few days then it dicinnects and I cant find it on my blietootg. Then I have to mess with it turn off my breaker and maybe it works. Im on day 3 of no luck. Waste of money
The light still works . This app has never worked as you can judge by the ratings. Cool idea and design the follow through and functionality for the money though , sadly I lost here
One star is generous. This thing worked one time and that was it. App UI is garbage, and this is a complete waste of time and space. Do yourself a favor and stay away
The app is a marketing feature to get you to purchase this unit. Once it’s installed and you launch the app you will notice right away that the app is very glitchy. Sometimes it will respond right away other times it has a lag from color to color. The fan timer in the app does not work! I called their customer service number and the person who helped me said there are no plans to update the app or address the obvious bugs found in the app! Really! Had I known about these reviews I would not have purchased this unit. The app feature was what got me and they got my money with a crappy app! None of the colors in the app have a timer only the fan and the white light. Neither timer works as advertised. I can’t believe with all the great products out on the market with timers and lights controlled by apps this company is behind the curve! The app needs a major update!!

Pretty disappointing. The color scenes sometimes work, but mostly don’t. It’s just stuck on the first color. Colors aren’t changing and it seems to have a mind of its own regarding the brightness. I’ll set to 10% and it seems to bounce itself right back up to 100% after saving. Doesn’t seem to update in real time, so you can’t get a sense of the color until you save it, which also doesn’t even activate properly, you have to click back and forth between scenes to get it going. Even then, it’s stuck on one color for 5-10minutes and then it suddenly starts color changing. Also, why isn’t there deep red or amber colors? It basically goes from pink to orange without any deep reds. The whole color selection tool is so small you can barely see the colors, and the main preview color has a useless gradient fade on it which makes it even harder to see the color you are picking. The color swatches of the colors you’ve picked are also barely visible within those small dots. Also the timer doesn’t work. Set it for whatever time you want, it doesn’t matter, it just stays on. Would be nice to see a countdown on the timer function so I know it’s working. Lots of glitches to work out with this app.
I just got this light today and it’s just a replacement cover for the old fan and I was really looking forward to putting this light up and being able to control it from my phone the light itself is bright the app will automatically connect Bluetooth to the light once I enter the app but when you choose the light you want to control it pops up and you choose it but it will never load it will say “wait while we are connecting to your device” but it will never connect and you could be sitting there for hours and it still won’t connect I used to have the Broan sonic in my old house and it worked great with the wall switch but do not buy the light cover/replacement I even got the one without the speaker in it, If this did work it would be an awesome app though now I’m stuck with a light that I ordered and the whole purpose was to be able to control it from the app. ( I am also not one of those people that doesn’t know how to use Bluetooth my whole house runs off of it) And let me throw in that I did call and the customer service lady I talked to was nice but all she did was tell me to do everything I have already done.
The actual shower speaker is phenomenal. I quite literally cannot imagine showering without it now. however while the device itself is in incredible improvement on my quality of life, the app is like psychological torture. I am as I type connected to the speaker via my phone’s bluetooth. The app will not connect at all. we had this issue when we first installed it and the only way we were able to actually solve the problem was by messing with the circuit breaker. we had to completely turn off any power to the device before the app would let anyone connect to it again. That is a problem. it doesn’t help that there seem to be a few color options that you can only access using the app, including salmon pink which is a very therapeutic color for me! quite frankly the fact that I have to give it one star is irritating as it’s more than it deserves. The one star at least implies that there’s some level of functionality. as far as I can tell this app works one time and one time only: when you first connect it to the lights. thank God it still works as a speaker fine, no thanks to this worthless app
Truly a terrible application that can barely sustain itself while doing the most simplest of tasks. Nothing worse than wanting to turn off the fan and light after a shower and neither one’s wants to register as being on. Upon trying over and over again your forced to figure out yourself to disconnect/reconnect through blue tooth and basically start the entire process all over again. The app is currently stuck with the fan running and the lights on, with zero way to turn it off through the app. Please someone fix this
1. Cant set a bright white. Only allows for colorful custom colors and a standard warm light. This is not beneficial for those would like to use this while doing makeup. One of the scenes has the correct white i am looking for but it is not directly usable. It should be a simple fix to allow rgb editing or a color wheel that included a complete white option. 2. The app works as intended while sometimes it turns the light off when not intended. It seems when editing custom lights or using the scenes it toggles the light rather then setting it on. Minor inconvenience, overblown 1 star reviews are negligent and usually due to user error. P.S. Not a negative but good to know. This unit does not have speaker, it never said it did. That is from misreading and not understanding that bluetooth is a way to connect, not a indication of a speaker. Othernews, ignore most one star reviews. Cranky people with lack of experience or knowledge bludgeoning a product to oblivion for their ineptitude.
This is an obvious rip off they give same generic feedback to everyone’s reviews and haven’t fixed the problems, I have to reset my breaker or disconnect the grill from fan motor to hard reset it every couple weeks at longest or it becomes unpairable to my bluetooth. Then stack that with bad numbers for tech support, and the app functioning when it wants to I’ve bought two fan models from this company and had to swap out the first one 3x before I got one that worked should have learned my lesson then but decided to give them another shot with a new model and it exceeded expectations alright! It’s worse in almost every way. This product is flashy eye candy that’s hiding the companies clear lack of concern on quality.
Much Better But Missing One Element From Previous Version
For the most mart, this version is much more robust than the previous version. This version connects via Bluetooth much faster than the previous version, and sending program info to the fan is also much quicker. The user interface has been simplified and still looks professional. The ONLY negative thing I’ve discovered so far is that neither the canned Scenes nor the customized Scenes I’ve created seem to have the ability to dim the brightness.
The idea of the unit is great. The light is bright enough for shower area. My husband wanted the music feature. The big disappointment is the unit will only sync with one phone. We go to work at different times in the morning, so only one person can use this app? Difficulty connecting the one phone. Have to disconnect power to reset phone. Cannot control from any distance, must be standing under it. Need to be able to recognize more than one phone so it’s useful to the entire household!
The light/fan for this app is a cool feature for our kids bathroom, but a big reason I got it was for the timers on the light and fan (show of hands for who’s kids NEVER shut off the bathroom lights!), but the timer only works for that one time use! I can’t set the timer to shut off after (enter your reasonable interval here) every time the light is used! Had I known this, I would have saved my money on the fun lighting setup and installed a motion sense light switch like I’ve done in all the other notorious kids-left-the-light-on rooms (hall closet, laundry room).
I love that I can control the bath fan from my phone when the kids don’t turn it on while they are in the shower. The various color options are also fun to play around with, it really spices up the bathroom. And the white light is very bright which is perfect for when you’re getting ready. All the color options are also dimmable, so we have been using it as a night light as well.
