I like this app because I get to video chat with my friend, but the prices are insane. Let’s say I only want to put 50¢ in to send a message to a friend... I can’t. I have to put a minimum of $8 in at least because a full call is $4 and fees take almost half of the money if not more. I don’t want to call! I want to send a message! What even is a full call? 1 minute? 5 minutes? 30? As long as I want??? PLUS we have to put money into the inmate’s account too, so family members end up paying double! This is ridiculous! Why are you charging the innocent people? I’d rather go back to only being able to call and email because at least then I can contact him without having to pay insane amounts of money...

I would give this app a 4/10… because it does work for what it’s intended to be used for which is contacting your inmates but the extra fees are just ridiculous. I understand that they have to make some type of profit but when I put $20 on my brothers calling card he only gets $13??? There’s no way a “service fee” is $7… just to load money? Seriously ridiculous. Everything the government does/ is involved in is completely just a waste of time and money. It’s sad and they should make it easy for inmates family to help them out, WERE NOT THE CRIMINALS. From city telecoin to vendengine and the secure packs it’s easily $400 a month just on my one inmate, it’s disappointing and I just wish they didn’t treat our inmates and inmates family so poorly. I mean sh…t half of them are innocent anyways!! I’m just so shocked at the “service” fee for this app it put me in a rant lol.

You would think with the exorbitant fees this service charge that they’d keep up to date with their services; assuring they worked accordingly, but no! They’re simply in the business of exploiting the the families of prisoners. There is absolutely no reason this service should crash as much as it does. Constantly charging the very second someone attempts to answer. Essentially siphoning off funds, as the video call doesn’t connect. This server isn’t capitalism; it’s extortion. Services such as HomeWAV charge a $2 fee for any amount of funds added, it’s only 15¢, there are constant app updates for it, and it NEVER crashed. If that company can provide inmate Les with great consistent service at a fraction of the price, there is absolutely no reason why CTC isn’t doing it other than pure greed and a disregard for others. It is abundantly clear that the inmates aren’t the only ones who are paying a price for their accusations.

I’m not proud of my daughter being incarcerated but she is there. I do NOT have the money to talk to her through this app. She is the one who is being punished by being in jail for her crime. I, on the other hand, feel like I’m being punished with the rediculous costs just to communicate with her. I live 3-4 hours from her jail so I cannot make it to visitation with her son but once a month. It’s extremely heartbreaking for a poverty level family to not be able to see one another. Thanks CTC for making it next to impossible for me to speak to my daughter and be able to buy enough groceries to not starve in the same week that I get one whole 5 minute call because I can’t afford more. If I could give this app zero stars I would. To actually be able to video chat properly you need to be in front of a laptop or computer. I don’t even know why they made a app for phones or tablets because it doesn’t work. When I click to video call my husband the app often crashes, it also will make his picture extremely small on video call in the middle of the call my husbands screen will start shrinking, it doesn’t connect well, it often looses connection even if you’re in the best WiFi the worlds has to offer city telecom will disconnect you. The absolute worse. My husband has 55 days left of the his expensive garbage. The jail should’ve got securus. The web developers who made this app were clearly beginners

The app never fails to glitch !! When I open the video call for incoming calls the video always shuts off and I have to restart … the video quality is poor most times and also the video of the inmate will at times disappear to the top of the screen or disappear in all !! It’s a good app tho … I also don’t like the fact we can’t set a notification sound for the app that option should be available… you’ll have to constantly check it on your own in order to see the messages but the video call does make a notification sound!!

This app has got to be the absolute worst app on the face of the earth. I can’t send a message to my family members who are in jail. I typed out a message to send to support via email. You won’t believe this, but I can’t even scroll down to the bottom of the page and send the email to this so called support team. What a pathetic excuse for an app. Gawd awful. Anyone who works for this company should be ashamed of themselves for being a part of something so horrible. Whoever owns, runs and created this app. Should be in prison themselves for robbing everyone of us like this. If there was a app crime division in the local police department, I would call 911 instead and tell them I’ve been robbed and it’s an emergency. Despicable

It’s not bad when it works. U have to have the best wifi so ur pics don’t freeze up. U can have excellent service and it may work but here lately the app just closes out before u can make a call. And it’s super over priced for you to possibly get a couple minutes and it actually work. This app needs a lot of work. And the customer service guy was completely rude. Like if u don’t like your job find a new one. He purposely didn’t not activate my account and was laughing with another rep about it. He thought I couldn’t hear but I did. I wasn’t rude to him so I don’t even understand pple that go out there way to be ugly. But that’s what the employees are like so all around I can’t even give this app 1 star! Sorry!

Horrible App. Rates are theft. Buggy. This app is buggy to start with. Trying to load messages is maybe it will maybe it won’t. When trying to type a message on a cell phone, you have to hunt your message. It scrolls to the bottom of the message. The design of the app is in bad need of updating and de-bugging. Jails should not use this vendor until they have updated their products and they function properly.

The app barely works, couldn’t get it to load messages. I eventually just used the website instead but didn’t want you use any of it … I paid $15 dollars and out of that I only got to h e 7.96 on my account after their fees com out but FOR SOME REASON they decide they are gonna charge me twice for that $15 SO … after the 2nd charge of $15… for some reason after their fees for the 2nd charge this time I had 9 something left out of $15 instead of $7 something so why would it be different each time so out of $30 dollars I had a whopping $17 something… that is RIDICULOUS.. something needs to be done about this . SECURUS … NEVER EVER WAS THAT EXPENSIVE

This app is literally the worst app I have ever had to use. It never works correctly and my brother always has to call about 5-10 times back to back before the app will actually answer the call. Then even when I have the app open I can’t even see him because it puts him really tiny at the top of the screen. The app will always close itself out and I have to reopen it including during calls. It’s obvious whoever created this app is in it for the money and not actually to connect people who want to talk to their families. I would give this app zero starts if I could. TERRIBLE app.

This app is awesome! It lets me send messages and video chat with my best friend in jail.. most places you can only have phone calls with people in jail so this is awesome! The only thing I don’t like is when the person in jail is calling to video chat it doesn’t ring or open my phone screen like a phone call or FaceTime would it just pops up at the top of my phone like a notification, I’ve missed a few video chats bc of this!!

As much money as this company charges… you figure they would have an app that works. I’d feel less bad about being charged ridiculous amounts of money for basic communication. This app crashes 70% of the time… sometimes it takes 10 or 15 minutes to finally communicate… like my time isn’t important to me… we already know your time is worth a fortune… how about putting some of that back into your system and make it work. There is absolutely no reason you can’t have an app that do what yours does without crashing so much.

The ability to send text messages is great but the prices are insane and I can only receive a video call while I have the app open. I was charged each time he tried to call without it even connecting for the video call. 50¢ a minute is a lot, the extra fees and taxes take most of the funds you deposit for your loved one and I still haven't been able to even check the balance ON THE APP ; I have to go online to check the balance and add funds. For the prices I expect better. ICS Solutions is much more efficient and user friendly. I wish the facility could pick up a contract with them.

You definitely don’t get what you pay for with this app. I added $65 and only got about $50 worth of talk time. When my husband video calls me I always miss it because the app doesn’t notify me and I made sure all my notifications were on. And it still charges the .50 cents because he attempted to video chat me. It’s so expensive. A text is .50 cents. It’s highway robbery! They know you have to talk to your loved one so they charge whatever they want. But hey at least I get to hear hubby’s voice through the static.

This video app freezes up not even a minute into so basically makes it a very expensive phone call. I got charged for fifty cents and there wasn’t even a second on there. It’s a rip. I’d rather go back to HomeWAV the jail had before. At least they didn’t charge more and the prices didn’t go up it was $3.99 at first for 15 mins call now it’s $4.01. Plus they send u a statement and they take out more money for that. I even called if I can not receive they said they can’t. And we already pay admission fees for each deposit that should cover the monthly statement fee

They updated this app and it’s been a complete nightmare!! It doesn’t have the right time on when I sent messages or when I receive a message! No message notifications comes to the phone only when it rings …only good you don’t know if you have a message unless you randomly check it ..I can write someone at 8am and it would say I sent a message at 12am at night I have contacted customer care via email and phone and they have done nothing if I could give it NO stars I definitely would

This app needs a lot of improvements!! During a video call the screen goes dark &you have to keep touching it to stay on. My low battery indicator came on & I touched ok to clear so I could finish the call but I was disconnected. Basically any pop ups appear on your phone you can’t touch them or the call will end. This is horrible to keep getting disconnected 3 times within 15 minutes. I can only add funds from the website & not the app. This is extremely annoying. Please fix this app

calls constantly dropping while on video call , video is still running collecting your money even when your call doesn’t go through, sometimes don’t receive my husband texts &’ he doesn’t receive mines I mean honestly if it wasn’t for my daughter and him I would never use this app it’s basically a rip off reading all the reviews on google going through the same exact thing I just wouldn’t recommend this app to no one maybe if your desperate to see your love one Like me.. other then that their too high &’ it’s a total rip off

App is easy and convenient as far as sending and recipe text message. Haven’t figured out video chat part yet. Only down part about app is that it takes a long time to load at times and you don’t know if the inmate has received message until they respond. Besides that app is pretty cool. Can keep in touch at all times. Texting is cheaper than calls.

I thought you couldn’t make the app worse but somehow yall found a way. Now I can’t even screenshot my video call with my husband so that I can see his face when I don’t have the money for a visitation. All of these fees that are on here that I have to pay like as if i’m the one incarcerated. Seriously you have to turn my photo black after I screenshot. Fix this please it’s enough that I don’t get to have him in person. Now I can’t even take a picture

Worst app ever. Says been connecting people since 1900s but can’t connect to the WiFi for the life of me. Eats up my money while I wait for the call to connect and half the time the screen is gray and I can’t even see my loved one. In 2 months I’ve had to spend the same amount in rent because of the ridiculous fees. Y’all are taking advantage cuz you know people want to talk to the ones they love and will stay putting money on there. Y’all really down bad for that.

The greedy feed on the needy…. fees are stupid high…$20 only gets you $12 in talk time which is less than two 15 min voice only (not video) calls and the ppl on the outside are the ones that have to pay for that. And even tho I have every notification alert I possibly can have turned on, I am still not notified about incoming messages

Using this app is like the hardest thing to do you can never correct most of the time. Unless I’m on wifi. There’s always an issue it freezes all the time. The phone hand set is like literally 9 inches from the screen so I can’t see the face of the person I’m calling. I don’t think that because the people that use this service are in jail we should be treated like second class citizens cuz they are in jail. For the money We am spending should be a better system. You are making your money.

I have to delete the app then download it again just to be able to read my messages. It’s does not matter if how your phone is set up to take notifications the app never notifies you that you have a new message it doesn’t ring when an inmate calls either. For a system that was designed to keep people together sure does have a way of keeping them apart. Just over half of what you pay actually goes to the inmate

Monthly statement fees? Bull!! I don’t need a statement. Just one more way to take ur money. And admin fees EVERY time? I loath this system. It’s bad enough they charge 3 times the normal price for the commissary items, but they are literally raping the families of the inmates on phone charges. One would think that just once there would be a way to get money to ur loved ones without every stop until they get it, there is a hand out demanding ur money. $30 phone card- inmate only gets $23. EVERY TIME u buy one.

This app is the worst! I haven’t been able to connect with my friend for over 6 months. I’ve deleted and downloaded the app 4 times already. I tried resetting password, it says email sent but never received (yes, I’ve checked the spam/junk folder too). I tried setting up a new account, but it won’t allow me since I’m already in the system. I figured you guys make a lot of money from this service, which is hard to believe you have mediocre web/app developers managing this. Just wow...

I think the prices are ridiculous. It’s bad enough that we have love ones in jail but to charge an arm or leg to communicate with them, is like kicking a dog when he’s already down!! When some of us are raising their kids and NEED to ask important questions or have that child know that their parent hasn’t vanished into thin air. I understand that monitoring all communication is necessary and costly but come on, give us a break!!

i’m grateful i get to talk to my friend. but the prices are outrageous. I put on $40 and only got to use $25 of it to actually communicate with him. And the app is deleting our messages where I have to go onto the website to see what he said back then go back to the app to respond and I don’t even know if he got the message. This needs to be fixed.

I was really liking this app! Except you guys went up on charges on messages from 5 cents to .50 cents over night! How do y’all expect anybody to pay for that for any amount of time! It’s ridiculous!! How about y’all think about if it were you guys brother, sister, mother, or father, or son, or daughter in jail and you wanted to communicate with them! The continued upping of pricing is ridiculous!!

The app is only good to send messages and video calls if you already have money on the account. You have to use the website to do everything else like add money to commissary, add money to phone account, purchase calling cards, etc. Also, the app has no dashboard like the website. Kinda makes the app pointless to me if I still have to rely on the website.

Would love to talk to my incarcerated love one but unfortunately I can’t I type my email and password which has been the same for years. Let’s me make an account then won’t let me use it to log in. So I try to reset my password then it says failure. Finally I make a new email and try all over again just so it can tell me that I can’t make another account with the same phone number. Don’t waste your time with this sorry excuse for an app

It would be great if we could fund the account directly from the app instead of the web browser on iPhones! Also, if it would show how long the call is going for or how much time is left on our end like it does for the inmate’s side, that would be great!

I’ve been using this app for a long time and now that it just got updated it keeps on asking me to allow the camera and microphone access I click yes and it does not work after that they canceled the car and now it’s even messing up with phone number calling me from the phone I would really like to talk to my family members that are in jail please fix this

Bad service and too much freeze cam plus not right too much fee even video keep freeze and can’t finish talking to whoever that not cool please do video right clear not freeze take money out for nothing because not finished talking due of freeze too much and stop have to call back too much then it gone fast money not right please do ur service better for cam please thanks

Doesn’t matter if a person is a criminal or not, it does not validate the highway robbery that this app and the local jails are doing to the innocent families just trying to see their kin! It is BS that I go to deposit $20 on a new brand new account and after all their sir charges and what not, only $12 goes on the account!! THATS ALMOST HALF GONE! This will become a federal case against this application and the injustice BS they are doing with the city’s judicial system!

Steps for using this app. 1. Down load. 2. Spend several frustrating hours of your life trying to figure out how to use this piece of crap. 3. Bend over, because not only is your relative getting screwed by the _______ (county,state,fed) but you’re also getting ready to take it up the tail pipe to be able to communicate with your loved one. It’s a good app but it always closes every time I open.. sometimes I can’t hear the other person on the video call but they can hear me and we have to hang yo and keep trying it again. I hate that they just took the payments off so you can be able to see your balance.

Phone number is of no use only pertains to a life alert device, needs to be more thorough on what to do, I had made a payment putting in the information and it does nothing as if it just did it just to get my information. Says cancel payment or return to page and does nothing after 20 min .

This app continues to take my money on video calls always cutting out 3 minutes and 1-12 seconds in, I've been using CTC for almost a year now but I have no other problems with my phone it's only this app since I used that last update for it, I've even made a new account and still it continues.

It use to be a great app but for the past two weeks I can not see my messages because it keeps saying to accept permissions when I’ve already did I even tried deleting the app and reinstalling it still won’t let and it’s really starting to get on my every last nerves

First off I pay out the *** then the video calls are horrible,freezes cuts you off!!!but instead of pressing 1 and you press 4 that’s when you really find out you are getting robbed,15min call is only supposed to be a lil over 3$ .21 cents a min and they charge you almost 5....even after they tell you there is no extra charge

i love being able to speak with my loved one more than anything! but the prices. are ridiculous. if i add $20 to the account only $9 goes to being able to be in contact. a full call with my loved one is $7.50. so i’d have to put $40 to have two calls! not even with the prices but the connection. me and him will be in the middle of a call and it’ll just cut off and say there was connection issues? with or without wifi. and everytime the call fails it takes 1 minute off of our visitation. the calls only last 15 minutes. i just with they didn’t make it so difficult to be in contact with our loved ones.

My boyfriend is incarcerated and this is the phone service that the facility he is housed in uses. The ap never works for messaging or video calls!!!! It is EXTREMELY expensive for all the services they “offer” that never work!!!! Watch your account closely because it doesn’t take long to spend a whole lot of money!!!!

This is the worst app ever. It takes multiple times for calls to go through, takes 10 dollars off every payment in taxes, and the quality of call is terrible. I have 5G at all times so I know that my service is not the issue. If you can avoid this app, which in most cases you can’t, I advise you do.

Pretty ridiculous all the fees and taxes you have to pay when putting money on communications or someone’s book. Why would I be charged a calling cost & admin fee when there’s no proof itd even be used for a call and an administrator isn’t putting the money on there for me? Inmate canteen was almost $10 and still cheaper.

Sound doesn’t work on video. Can’t add money most of the time. Will not work on OS products. Do not call the support line because people are rude, they do not understand their product, and after 3 days of them telling me it was my fault that I do not understand the software someone fixed the problem. They over charge for messages. A COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!!!!!

fix your app! i don't even understand why this is an app, as it doesn't work at all! "accept permissions" is impossible because as soon as you press accept it keeps popping up as if you never accepted it! i get a notification that i have an incoming video call... but it doesn't even work! as soon as i press the notification to answer i'm met with the "incoming call from"... and can't chat at all. take it off the appstore or fix it. the only way to contact inmates is if you have a computer or laptop.. useless app, if i could give 0 stars i would.

This app is outrageous on there prices for one call and I should get some of my money back for all the problems I have with it I have amazing WiFi and this thing keeps telling me everytime I get a call sum bout low WiFi and all this bull then we have to call four or five times before we can actually talk!!!! This problem needs to be fixed!!
