Hated the fact that I even have to use an onsight washer and dryer but this app made it so freaking easy I don’t even dislike it anymore. 10/10. I don’t have to sit and wait for my clothes to finish. It tells me, amazing. The only thing I would say it needs to fix is the lag of time sometimes when you go check there’s still a few minutes left on the machine. Also with the dryer I wish you had more leeway to put less time. The extra 5 minutes is helpful for .25 cents but what about when you complete and then it’s still not dry? That’s a whole nother $2.00 other than that it’s great! I wish I would have thought of it lol.
I moved into a house about a year ago. When I took the place, I was told washer and dryers were included in the basement. So, I was naturally excited, as I hate going to the laundromat. But when I got moved in, I saw quickly that it was a pay washer and dryer. I already pay $1350 a month in rent and so I guess if I have to pay to do laundry, it’s better to do it in my basement then at the laundromat. I love the service I just hate that I have to pay for laundry in a house that I already pay rent in.
This app is terrible! It doesn’t matter if you only need to wash one time, YOU MUST PAY $10 even if you are going to spend only $2.50. And it is also tricky, because when you are paying for dryer it immediately displays the option to add only 5 more minutes for 25 cents and it appears so quickly that you accidentally press it and get charged more, decompleting your credit if you had already planned how much money you would spend on a round of laundry. In addition, if you load money, your credit is not updated. This app also steals your money if you do not use it for a long time. Several times I have left the app with a certain amount of credit saved and when I use it again a couple of weeks later I am always missing $2 or $3 dollars, which is what is used for a wash.
I hate this app. Here’s how you’ll encounter it. Next time you’re on vacation or away from home you might need to do laundry. You probably won’t have quarters to pay the $1 you need to wash your clothes. Clothesline will be your only other option! Once you download the app, you need to create and account (of course). Then before you can pay for laundry you’ll need to add funds to your wallet. When you attempt to add $2 to your wallet (since that’s all you need) the app will tell you that you can only upload $10 or more… The whole system is designed to force you to add more money than you need to your wallet and then forget about it. I’ve used apps like this in the past and I think it’s awful. I’m wearing stinking clothes today out of principle and complaining to the laundry who uses your app.
Minimum you can lord onto your card is $10 so you’d better plan accordingly if you expect to be moving soon. Also every time you start your dryer it begs you to pay extra for a longer cycle. It’s very easy to accidentally agree to this payment and i would imagine it’s specifically designed that way. I’m sure i’m not the only one who has done that and i’m sure i won’t be the last. This app is convenient but riddled with bugs and greedy features and i’m ultimately left with a bad taste in my mouth. Fun fact: i’m writing this review right now because the app told me my wash cycle was done but when i got to the laundry room there were still 5 minutes left. Gave me time to think and reflect on the quality of this app!
I use 2 washers + 2 dryers in my apt complex about once a week. The machines run $2.50ea for a lg wash + $2.00 for 45 mins drying. The app is user friendly and allows you to add time to the dryers for .25 @ 6 mins. The only hope I would have for the app is to allow any amount to be uploaded to the balance. It will only allow a *minimum* of $10 to be loaded at once. I would like for the washers to have hot water attached for use with towels and whites. The dryers do not have vent hoses attached so it gets super steamy in the laundry room. The presence of quarter slides on the machines would also be nice. The option to use digital or coin is convenient for a single mom on a fixed income. I am grateful for the service of the app and machines so my comments are strictly as a recommendation. Outside of that I love them and find the app incredibly efficient and convenient!!
I really do like the app and it's cool to be able to receive messages when the cycles are done. But as with all technology there's always going to be something that goes wrong. I have experienced being logged out of my account then not being able to log back in or even reset my password and now I can't access my account which means I can't do my laundry, and even worse it's past office hours so I can't call anyone for assistance. Technology is great when it works but when it doesn't man it really doesn't
Having the mobile makes having a communal laundry area a piece of cake. Not only can I add money to my account using my phone app, I can pay via the app, and the notifications tell me when my laundry is done. The only thing I wish I could do is add more time to the dryer near the end of the cycle. The app ask if you want to add more time as soon as the dryer starts- well I don’t know if I need more time until nearer the end.
IoT reliability varies by laundry room connectivity environemnt
would like to see better placement consideration or control input design reliability improvements (i.e redundant app phone remote functionality regardless of cell. signal strength, such as gauranteed function of interaction between phone app & control units in Airplane mode) --- system works "ok" vulnerability for improvement ***IoT is useless in denied signal environments when interaction is dominantly from a smartphone ---in these situations end user experience may vary ...to the detriment of FMB & Prop Mngmt partner ratings in terms of resident experience at this point of property to FMB please consider system reliability at each install with PM partner personal perspective (I've rented at 2 properties with this system, 1 works better than the other) overall - "ok" pro's is user control from familiar phone interface Overview: would cautiously recommend *individual experience may vary *operating model probably involves collaboration between fmb / prop mngmt / prop mtnc
This is what I’ve needed since the beginning of the electronic era. I normally have to go to the bank for quarters and I already am so tired of making one more pit stop that this app has legit made my life that much more easier. I can add funds wherever and not only that if I’m at work late my kids can have the app downloaded and with the log in info anyone can sign in and help get laundry started as well!
The app is easy and convenient to use, the only issue I’ve had is the app sometimes doesn’t know if a machine is not working, and there’s no way to get your money back once the app thinks the machine is running. It’s happened to me a few times where I used my money to start a machine that wasn’t working. There’s no way I can get a refund because its 3 different companies involved.
Since the new update, it seems my phone dropped the associated password to my account. That’s fine, I’ll just use their ‘forgot password’ feature and set up a new one right? Wrong!!! I submitted for a new password like 3 times at this point and haven’t received ANYTHING (yes I checked spam, junk, etc.) nothing. I see the message on their site “ An email with instructions for creating a new password has been sent to you.” But that’s obviously a lie. Worse part is, I can’t even just make a new account, given that they require a phone number to associate with the account.
I really enjoy being able to use my phone to work the washer and dryer and reload money on the app. This is a huge convenience for me. I am glad my apartment complex has upgrade her laundry room equipment so we can have a more enjoyable and relaxing experience while trying care of our laundry needs.
Bad app. Only laziness prevents me from getting a physical card
Having little idea what’s going on on the backend, especially with my credit card security, an app as clunky as this makes me very unhappy to manually enter my card number. There is no option to prevent storage of said card number. Additionally, the $10 minimum to add funds makes it clear to me that the tiny additional cost of smaller card transactions is more important to the business than making customers happy by not holding their money hostage. Think of the thousands (or more) of customers who always have $2-8 of promised machine cycles “stored” (taken early) by the app.
Overall my experience using Clothesline has been positive. The app is easy to use, to replenish $ and start washers and dryers. I do like being notified when my washer or dryers are done. Nice feature. One piece of feedback on adding more time to the dryers. The first time I used the app I inadvertently selected the $.25 additional time BUT I didn’t want more time for my dryers. The OK button is on the same side and place all of the OK buttons for washers and dryers initial charge. This is confusing especially if you want to DECLINE the additional $.25 charge. Maybe you approved the user experience design for this additional charge but as a consumer it’s deceptive. Switch the OK button to the left and have the right button be to DECLINE additional charge for the dryer.
The app is extremely convenient and easy to use! Love that we can use this to make the laundry experience easier. Only two reasons I have it 4 instead of 5... First, it asks if I want to add “0 minutes for 25 cents” to my dryer cycle, which of course I don’t.... ??? Second, it is not accurate in which machines are free. It always says they’re all free, when they’re not. Other than that, love the app!
I love using this application and it's easy to add funds. On the other hand, using the card reader to add funds is a big problem and I will never use it again. Too many people in Park View Columbia are unable to put money on their cards. Keep getting a reader error message. Thanks a bumper.
I absolutely love the convenience of this app, doing laundry at my own place and not always having to get quarters constantly. It can be expensive having myself and two kids. However, it beats having to pack everything up, sit at the laundromat and then go there just to pack it all back up and come home.
App works flawlessly. But prior to using the washing machine the customer must pre-pay in blocks of $10. My machines were $3 each. I used it twice leaving a $4 balance. I could not find any way to recover my $4 except filing a dispute with my credit card, which I did. My $4 seems trivial but the company is profiting on the many who just leave it. I travel quite a bit and this is the only time I have come across a machine requiring this app and do not foresee me being able to use my balance in the future.
App allows linking a bank account and adding money on phone, as long as you have WiFi or data. It did charge me one time when the machine was malfunctioning and couldn’t start. There should some report or refund option when this happens.
This service is used in my apartment building and it’s the best when a machine is down all you have to do is go on the app put a request in and the come out to fix the problem as as possible. Easy to use thru the app and good quality clean machines
The convenience of using my smart phone to do laundry is wonderful. I would never want to go back to quarters or a card. I like being notified when the wash cycle is done. However the notification is a timer not connected to the actual completion of the wash cycle. If that could be accomplished, the 5th star would be awarded.
Using the app to start the machines is fine but we have 2 machines with service issues. It has been reported multiple times over about 2 months over the app and by phone call. They still have not sent anyone to fix machines even though we were told that they were sending a technician.
The conscience of know when your clothes will stop is great . The being process was not so user friendly I didn’t know that I was suppose to tap the card then add money so I ended up downloading the app which I like much better
The vast majority of the time it works fine aside from adding time to the dryer. It forces you to add time in 8 minute increments (25 cents/ 8 minutes) and takes 10-15 seconds to process each additional 8 minutes. I’d much prefer to plug in the total time from the start instead of waiting around for 2 minutes just to add time.
Had many issues with the app stealing money from account balance that don’t coordinate with loads of laundry paid for and completed. I started tracking on paper after I was told it was an issue with the app updating balances when having proper internet connectivity, but this is just not true. Additional funds are inexplicably removed from account and the company takes days to respond to requests for money back, if they refund at all.
This app is really convenient to use, tells me the amount of time I have on the dryer I’m using, and makes it a lot easier to load money. I’ve never had any problems with this app. 10/10 Recommend.
Easy to use, love the auto reload function and that it tells you whether washers and dryers are free. The only thing I wish it had was a function to say whether washers / dryers were awaiting maintenance or can’t be used.
The app has worked every time. It is easy to add funds. And I love the feature that notifies you when the cycle is about to complete as well as the feature allowing you to add minutes to the dry time for a small fee
The app for wash machines is very convenient. Only issues are phone signal (my building not great in laundry) Updating credit card number i took a stumble. I do think it overall is fantastic. It’s allot better than trying to get quarters when the bank is not giving them out.
I love the fact that you can reload your account by just pressing a button and I love also how they tell you how much time is left on each load. Makes it so much easier for me than waiting in the laundry room for the load to finish.
First time using their machines: I go to their kiosk and press “buy $5 card”. My card is dispensed and I tap it to confirm my $5 balance. It keeps saying $0. I give it 45 seconds or so for the newly-loaded balance to appear, then I realize that the balance isn’t going to update- it cost me $5 for the piece of plastic that I can now load money onto! What a shady way to phrase buying a laundry card. These plastic cards are of negligible cost, unbelievable being charged $5 for one.
It works well for the majority of the time (sometimes you have to make sure you’re fully connected). Also sends notifications when cycles are completed
For the most part. The washer and dryer work 98% great. Laundry room is kept very clean from the female maintence worker. Only time see water on floor when they gone after hours or before the service ( clean laundry room. Some tenants clean up behind they self when possible.
Easy to reload funds and straight forward to use. The machine timer tracker works most of the time but sometimes doesn’t work. There have been times the timer goes off and there’s still 5 minutes on the load.
Very convenient because most laundry places require a ton of quarters, it’s cheaper and I love the timer feature so you know when your clothes are done. Only problem so far is that it wouldn’t let me add my bank card so I had to use my cashapp card instead.
Clothesline is the solution to a variety of problems, most notably trouble with debit/credit card readers. I’ve made the switch to the app and have had no issues at all.
My first time ever using an app for laundry machines. It was very easy to install and start using it. I still need to manage the alerts for when the machine finishes. All and all, very happy using the app.
My small apartment building recently replaced our washers and dryers. Love the ease of paying with the app. Also love the feature that shows me whether the machines are in use. Saves an unnecessary trip to the laundry room!
theres not much to critique with this app. It functions perfectly well and i've never had any issues with it. Maybe the UI could be better but that’s the only thing that comes to mind.
The app is very nice! I like the function to begin washing by scanning or typing in the number of the machine. The only asks I would want for the app is to be able to start the machine from that app instead of pressing the button on the machine.
Ours does not have the room monitoring set up I can’t see how many are in use and how many are free it has the correct room name but says 0 of 0 machines. The last few times I used it had the wrong time on my machines and k came down 15 minutes too early bc the app said done but the machine was still on
worth the download and an absolute game changer!! i love how this saves the trip going somewhere to ask for $20 of quarters. The only downside to this app is that when you reload it has to be $10 or more so you can reload with $5 to do a simple wash and dry.
This app is great. I love that I don’t have to carry a card. Unfortunately, not all machines in my laundry room are connected to the app. Not sure why. I’ve reported this and the responsible people have acted quickly. There must be a glitch somewhere. But the app is GREAT.
It’s a huge convenience to be able to load money in my account and not have to worry about always having quarters. The washer and dryer work very well also.
Reasonable cost and machines so far working very well both dryers and washers. The process of payment sent to the machines and loading my account balance using my IPhone is all user-friendly. I have no complaints. Thank you. :)
Here I was trying to get quarters wherever I could, then I seen your booklet laying on a table in the laundry room (Lee Street Apartments) and downloaded your App. Best decision ever. It works very well. Easy to use and easy to add money on. Thank You Thank you!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Instructions are clear Easy too always have Laundry money cause I put $20 on the app on payday. Then, on the non-pay week, with no money, I have the money to do my laundry Great setup!
