I found a bug

Hello devs! I have to say, this app is AWESOME! I’ve used it to count down to TONS of events so far, and it’s worked great! However, the Live Countdown widget has stopped working on my iPad. I’ve tried deleting the widget and re-adding it to the Home Screen, switching the selected countdown around, and even making a new one in the app in the hopes that it’d fix the problem, but no luck. I’m using an iPad Pro 10.5 inch (model number MPHK2LL/A) running iOS 16.6, if that helps. Having the live countdown isn’t critical for me, but it would be nice to have it again on my Home Screen, so if you guys could take a look and get it fixed, that would be great, thank you!

Great until the last day of the countdown

I was excited about this app. I test drove several and I thought this looked the best. It was almost exactly what I wanted until I got to the final day of my first countdown. When it gets to one day away, it switches from counting down days to counting down hours. Then it switches back to days when it gets to zero. I want it to say the event is 1 day away until it’s midnight of the day that it’s happening. Then, on the day of the event, the countdown would be zero. What actually happens: Let’s say I’m counting down to a trip that’s January 10th. Starting at midnight on January 9, the countdown shifts from increments of days to 24 hours. But I’m not leaving at midnight on the 10th. And seeing the hours tick off kinda stresses me out and makes it feel more imminent than it really is. If I change the countdown setting to the exact time that my flight is leaving, then the Countdown will say it’s two days away because it’s more than 24 hours. And that doesn’t feel right to me because it is *tomorrow.* While some people may want this, I think there should be an option to just have it go from one day away to 0 days away instead of switching to an hourly countdown.

Love the app but it has a bug, please fix

Is a mentioned above, I love the app, and I use it for work. I’m able to put my deadlines in for my next submittal to my clients. However, it appears as though sometimes the widget on my home screen does not display all of the up-and-coming deadlines. The widget shows “no event set” when I definitely have events set. I’m running the newest iPad 12.9 inch with M2 and the latest ipad OS (16.6). this problem has been happening to me off and on for some time(about two months). The only fix I found for this which only works sometimes is to restart the iPad. I will be happy to change my 4 star to a 5 star when resolved. Keep on rocking the stellar productivity apps, and that’s when I am all about. :)

Beautiful and lots of potential!

This is a very nicely designed simple app, and great for a V1. I’m using it to motivate me towards a weight loss goal (actually a shirt size goal haha, from XL, to L to M!) it’s very helpful and motivating to see that goal I’m working towards in front of me every time I look at my phone. Since it’s a bee app, naturally there are a couple UX improvements that can be made; For example, I would love to have the ability to group a series of goals into a “group” and then being able to simply select that group in the widget settings rather than picking individual events. Overall, this is a great start! Thanks Stefan and keep up the great work.

I want my money back

It’s not a bad app. I finally paid for it after using it for a year. It was on sale for $9.99 lifetime. I went to add some widgets and the app doesn’t show up in the widgets list at all. I’ve tried uninstalling it multiple times and restarting my iPad and it make no difference. It is completely useless to me if I can’t even add widgets. I want a refund and need to see what Apple’s policy is on that. I just checked and it was the latest update that broke the widgets. I have two iPads in my family that use this utility and as soon as I updated, the widgets disappeared. How can an update make it so widgets can’t be used? Either that or it was a bug having to do with the full version. Either way, ridiculous. And even after I paid, I noticed that there are still ads in the product. Yup, I will be requesting a refund on this app and looking for another.

Good and bad

Beautifully simplistic but that’s also its downside. It’s real simple to set up a countdown to a date and crate a widget for it. But that’s also it’s down side. If you want to set up a retirement countdown or even a vacation countdown, you certainly don’t want to count days that you don’t work or days that you are already on vacation. This app can’t do that, it can only countdown linear calendar days. There’s no calendar to remove days you don’t want counted. An extremely important item that this app lacks. This app will not do non-linear counting. ** The developers response is correct they do provide MINOR abilities but if you have a modern schedule such as working two days on, two days off or the need to remove certain holidays, these modifiers are extremely limited. In no way does the developers response nullify my initial review.

Best countdown app!

There are countless number off countdown apps out there and this is the only one that I’ve found to be the most customizable while still have an easy to use interface. The widgets are also very customizable and easy to look at.

Good 2nd place

Have been searching for my go to countdown app and I think I found my top two. This one is handy, easy to use (simple) and customizable, looks good too. Has a rectangle widget that displays days, hours, minutes, etc. which I love! Not a common feature…. So you can keep it at simple or complex looking as you’d like Not my number one because found another app (with orange icon) that has slightly more customizability like adding image as background and different ways to display countdown; like pills. And that’s all has a slightly less one time purchase cost. This one isn’t bad, currently $7.99 which I appreciate. App deserves a 4.7 rating but I can’t do in between. Really glad I found this app, good job developers! Happy you gave the option to use free, with limitations; subscription, benefits you; and a one time purchase, which is rare nowadays.

It’s not counting down??

I’m not sure if it’s a bug or something, but all of my countdowns have stopped counting down, and one of them that i had as my Lock Screen widget is even counting up. It should be at 401 days but it’s still stuck on 405 and it has continued to count UP to where the hour is at 82 now. i have the large widget on my home screen with the rest of my countdowns and they’re all frozen onto the countdown from 6 days ago but when i click the actual countdown to take me to the app, it shows the correct countdown number.

Great app missing a few features

Love Countdown! Very customizable, and I love the Import feature! Some features that would make managing events much easier: 1. Give us the ability to bulk edit items in the event list. Past events linger, and you have to archive/delete one by one. 2. Give us an advanced setting to default What’s Next to our choice (like Archive). Currently, all events count up. If this was possible, it takes care of bullet point #1 😉 3. Photo frame would be great if it replaced the background color and filled the widget. Currently, the photo is too small to enjoy Thank you for a great app that helps us count down our life events!

Cool Widget

The app is worth buying! It is both beautiful and useful. I would I change it just a little. When viewing the tasks they are alphabetical, it would be nice if there was an option for this list to sort by Start Date as well as alphabetically. Needs additional sort options which would make it a 5 star. :)

It just works!

No matter the OS update, this app just keeps on working. I appreciate the widget layouts. If there was anything that could be better it would be for it to know when a holiday that skips around will be next time. Pretty impossible. Really great work. Thanks!

Works well!

Great widgets, cheap intuitive, functional. Like I said cheap! Doesn’t cost nearly as much as many other similar options. Probably is a better app altogether anyways. Simple and to the point with a real healthy dose of customization options 🙌🏼

Feature request - would love to be able to select the unit(weeks/months) to the target date, especially for dates further out in the feature. ‘90 days’ seems like a lot more time than ‘13 weeks’...

New update has totally messed up everything

I am extremely dependent on this app/widget for keeping me on track for things. It has worked great since I downloaded it in March but the latest update no longer allows a widget to be placed on my Apple phone. When the update first occurred, the widget went blank. I tried to edit it and nothing happened so I deleted the app and reinstalled. Now I can’t even find it as a search to add it as a widget I’m extremely unhappy!

A great help!

I love this app. I especially like the widgets and the fact that I can have more than one. One I use for all annual events and I sometimes add a second widget when something is coming up that I must remember and be prepared for.

Clean

Really clean look. No silly app name since it *must* display under the widget. Not forced to use an event title (can leave blank). A lot of icons to choose from (but can’t leave blank). I just wish there was a font option... I kind of would like to use San Francisco to match the look of iOS. 👍

Amazing

I love this app, I love how you can personalize every event. I mark all my concerts and important days in life and track them from my lock screen in the widgets. It’s a cute little reminder when I glance at my phone.

The widgets look great

It’s very easy and straight forward to set up a timer. The widgets look great. If you need one that shows you the exact time til the event with hours and minutes you need a monthly subscription which I think it’s too expensive for a timer …

Very nice app

I’ve been using this app since April/22 and with the new iOS is even better but every time I start over my device I lost the widget and the countdown goes to 0. So I have to restart again to solve this issue. I hope for next updates you solve that Thanks

Great little app

I like to see what’s coming up. The more precise the better! This app keeps things front and center with a personalized widget. Still familiarizing myself but so far so good!

Bait and switch

It’s a nice app, and I would have considered paying a small fee for it. But I’ve been using it for months, and then today it stopped working. I finally deleted the app and redownloaded it, and now they’re demanding a monthly subscription fee in order to use a photo with my countdown. Guess I’m done with this one. Deleted again! Paid a small one-time fee for a different app — much more reasonable!

Easy

I wanted a widget style app that would count down in weeks. This app allows for that, so I can easily see “weeks” until my retirement.

The BEST!

I think this is a really good app because it's free to make a widget and it's really clean looking and I can make countdowns very easily. This is a great app, I recommend downloading it if you want a countdown widget.

It’s good… but

I like the countdown app but there is no reason why a paid app should have ads. It’s extremely irritating that every time I open it I’m greeted by a window to download something else. Paid apps should not have ads period.

It was working until two days ago

The widget worked for the last 18 months on an XS Max but today it wiped out my one countdown and nothing in the settings can restore it. Going back to using a paper countdown calendar.

Glitchy

I love the way the countdown looks, and the widget is cool too, except… every time i turn my phone completely off and then back on, the widget zeros out and doesn’t show the countdown for several days.

This is a good app.

This app helps me remember and get ready for the events I am going to. The only thing that I don’t love is that when you want to add a photo to the widget it makes you get the premium. Other than that this is a good app!

Surprised this got through App Review twice (Birthdays too)

Terrible experience being hit with an add in an app that I paid for and I can’t even swipe it away easily. Instead you have to try and swipe it away and then if you pay attention the ‘x’ button will appear. Total trash move by the dev.

Major Syncing Issues

This app has horrible saving and syncing capabilities. I really wanted to like this app but that is very frustrating to say the least. It takes forever to update and remove what you archive and sync to your other devices. It's practically useless, but really nice when it does work.
