The app is frustrating to use. Work orders won’t open up, selecting certain functions won’t open up. App freezes. At one point it was attempting to load the history page of a previous job, and it just stayed on the loading screen. I forced closed out of the app multiple times and it would just revert back to the page. Only until I actually deleted the app and reinstalled it did it work again. I wouldn’t recommend using the app to anyone until they seriously figure out what the issues are.
It’s clear the person that created this program has zero experience in dispatching. Or at least with working within a larger company that takes multiple calls within a small time window. There are so many steps for even the simplest of tasks. It should not take 10-20 minutes to create one work order. Furthermore, our staff in the field is now taking so long to go through work orders, we cannot schedule as many appointments that we used to be able to. You are supposed to just trust their program blindly and assume it’s working. Trying to ask their help line is very much just, “it just does it automatically”. Which does not work. We’ve gone through and created agreements, adjusted post date to correct ones, and once it saved it completely changed it. It’s so bad employees that are using it have said they will quit if it’s not gone soon. If I could give negative stars as a review, I would.
FieldEdge created an app that cause more inconveniences then helpfulnesses. I never experienced an app that was poorly invented with low consideration of being user friendly. The constant glitches which leads to multiple freezes in a day is asinine and ridiculous. This causes files and pictures to be lost even when you believe it was saved. The volume of issues has intensify due to all the so call new updates. But instead those updates are causing high level of disruption to the workflow. The worst part of this experience is customer service line. They are NEVER available to assist mobile users as they claim they do. Leave a message and we’ll return your call NEVER. This app prohibits the daily productive and efficiency for one to do their job. Overall grade is a F.
Field edge is probably the worst program I have ever used. There are many things in the app that they need to change to make it more suitable in the field. It would also be nice if their main functions in the app would consistently work at all. I would gladly go back to hand writing notes and using a paper and pen rather been dealing with this program. It all depends on the day whether or not this at decides to work correctly or not. As a service technician we have a lot to deal with as it is the last thing we need to be worrying about is this program functioning correctly. Instead Of this program “saving time” I think that we spend more time trying to get it to work properly then it would be to not use it at all. I’m very unhappy with this entire program altogether.
The application has a lot of bugs that are high severity and high priority. The application crashes at least once a day. It is not user friendly because of this. After writing a long custom quote and clicking on ‘Save’ I lost all the information more times than I can count or the application crashes, once happened while I was with a customer, so I looked very unprofessional in the customer's eyes, because I had to go again through the list to add everything in the quote, also it is very frustrating to lose all the information. The application has major bugs in the main functionalities. The application is not tested properly, since a lot of bugs and the crushes are very easy to reproduce.
FieldEdge is a very good software for home service. The engineering & development team listens and implements improvements to build an even better system. It is not likely to be able to make a system that does not glitch sometimes as there are far too many different factors playing a big part in it with internet connection integrity being close to the top of the list. FieldEdge has helps us provide better service to our customers and helps keep the technicians informed.
This app has lots of problems and it seems when FieldEdge tries to resolve the problem they end up making more problems. Was sent a survey today from FieldEdge but even the survey wasn’t working right. So frustrated with this company. The reason I gave this app five stars is because it would not take my nickname no matter what I put in when I gave this app one star.
Constantly have to uninstall the app off our tablets. App just freezes and won’t allow you to even close it. Gives no functionality for detailed reports for sales tracking like capacitors sold or refrigerant pounds billed. You can’t see what lines are used most. With software of this type we should be able to have some basic reports available for inventory tracking. Finding pricing is also very cumbersome and time consuming. And customized pricing for agreements is horrible.
This app updates every few weeks and usually it makes it work worse than the previous release. The most current update removed the ability to use spellcheck and predictive text while entering subject matter into invoice items. Very frustrating! While working as a technician in the field every minute counts and now I have to carefully watch my spelling and punctuation before billing a customer.
This app is garbage. It’s very confusing and takes a long time to navigate through. I have used service titan and as hard as that was to learn and as much as I didn’t enjoy using it I miss it now looking back in retrospect, you can tell that whoever made field edge has had no experiences in the trades , it has a lot of useless steps and is a time waster. Service titan is much better if you want to run a tight ship and keep business moving along in a timely manner.
Please read these reviews before you work with this company. Their sales team will tell you one thing and then act like it was never verbally agreed upon. The app itself has so many flaws that my company lost money trying to use it. It will freeze and the functionality just doesn’t work on the app. Their website is nice, and works. It’s obvious that most of the money was invested to make the site work well, definitely do not use until they put the same care and money into the app to make it a useable app on the field.
This app should be paying people to use it so they can work the “bugs” out, not people paying for a service that isn’t provided… I’ve worked on this app for a year and have pleaded with my company to get a different one. There is such a sheer amount of bugs and issues I can’t even begin to list them. I have weekly issues and am currently texting back and forth with my company to manage tickets and invoices. I’m actually amazed this app is still being provided and advertised. Don’t waste your money here.
I don’t know how the office side works, but for a field tech it’s garbage. Constant issues of stability. Also like other reviews, when put to the company, it’s always; “Delete/reinstall, update your phone, and other generic fixes. This app was designed without once speaking to a field tech. Typical Silicon Valley thinking they can fix everything with an app without actually knowing the industry they are “helping”.
Love this! Techs are able to stay connected to the office pretty easily. The new Proposal Pro feature makes selling easier because you can show a good-better-best option to a customer. Definitely worth the software investment.
We use this for our plumbing and electrical company. The office/desktop application is fine. I would even say good. But the mobile app is the glitchiest thing ever. Locks you out/errors left and right, and when you try to get help there’s a LIST of things they want you to try to get it to work. If the app wasn’t so awful, I’d give the software, as a whole, 4.5 stars.
I don’t know how many times over the past two years of using this app I’ve had it to uninstall and reinstall it. I’ve lost count. As a service tech, it’s not bad to have invoices or quotes generated in the field. But the down side is the constant freezing of the app when it comes to trying to download information and have it sync. Even with the new update of syncing when having proper service. The operation of the app is what’s giving it 1 star for me.
Worst and most frustrating software I’ve ever worked with
I have used the app for over 2 year now. The app constantly has issues. Crashes all the time, issues with syncing with office, freezing, buttons don’t work half the time, the search bar function is a joke and doesn’t even give you items close to what you are searching for (sometimes even when the exact item name is even put into search bar). DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS SOFTWARE BECAUSE IT IS COMPLETE TRASH!!!!
I can’t speak for the rest of the team at FieldEdge. However, I can speak to Richard Manzo and his assistance and desire to work with me through some of the issues we were having to come to a resolution was admirable. I would highly recommend him.
The app is only as good as the device you use it on, works perfectly on my iPhone. The interface is easy to use and manage. The dispatch board used in the office is what really makes this software great. Customer service is awesome and quick to get answers.
As a service tech in the field, THIS APP STINKS!! And I have left messages with support 3 days in a row with no response. The company I work for has been using it for 3.5 years. The last eat update to help in low phone reception areas has made things worse. And when the app locks up, all you can do is delete it and reload it, then wait for the next time. (I have deleted and reloaded 6 times since the update a little over a week ago!)
Incredibly unclear and not user friendly. I had co-workers trying to explain to me how to fill out particular fields for Daily Service Forms/Reports, and it still makes no sense. I see that everyone who uses it, uses it as little as possible to avoid malfunction/confusion. I couldn’t fill out the Service Form without going into “Working” which is ridiculous. I hate having to use this.
Very unstable app and support went from mediocre to nonexistent. We used coolfront before. It wasn’t the best but was stable and user friendly. FieldEdge is overly complicated and not user friendly. It often crashes. They say it’s because we don’t logout enough. Even logging out can be an issue. It will crash and won’t allow you to logout. It just spins and spins. I end up uninstalling and reinstalling at least weekly.
This app has been absolutely awful since I started using, and with the latest update its even worse, things that were already slow and buggy and now even more complicated or dont work at all. It should be redone from the ground up by a completely different and competent developer. I feel bad that my company pays for us to use this dumpster fire
This app is horrible and id recommend anyone considering Field Edge or ESC to run away now. Expect extremely long delays in response to service related issues and bugs. Your csm will likely not care to follow up on pending items and conveniently forget about all of them. In hindsight we never shouldve signed up with Field Edge. Look at Service Titan before wasting your time with Field Edge!!!
Still can’t see work description unless you are in working mode. This is really frustrating when looking at the time clock function on the desktop version. A line is added to the timesheet each time the guys go into working mode so they can see what the job is even if they aren’t actually working on the job. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!
I am an HVAC tech that uses this app daily and not by choice. The company I work for chose to use this software for whatever reason. It is absolutely the worst platform out. For example just to invoice a customer there are 7 steps for every item. When you have multiple line items this is a tremendous waste of time. I do not suggest it but for now it’s what I have to use
Constantly crashes and freezes up with the only fix being to delete and reinstall the app. Can and will happen anytime when the app tries to load anything. Most commonly freezes up on trying to load job history or attachments. You just get to stare at a loading pinwheel until you delete and reinstall the app.
I’ve found myself waiting for this program to reboot or having to uninstall and reinstall this program anywhere between 5 and 15 times a day. I’ve now decided to write this review because it took this program 40 minutes before it would show me where I was going for my next call. I spend more time waiting on this program than I do working. It is a waste of time.
Invest Into Field Edge If You Want To Waste Your Time
I’ve been using FieldEdge since 2016 and it’s been nothing but absolute headache. Given how frequent this app crashes, it makes my job so much harder than what it should be. My advice to you is to it waste your money on this God awful app and just pay the extra money for a more quality. I hear good things happen at Service Titan.
This is a worst CRM I ever used it. Working on custom quotes and putting 30-40 minutes and everything is disappearing and you have to start over again, reports are not correct and confusing. I’m not sign up for spending all my time to learn complicated combinations of this labyrinth. All our service adviser’s and CSR’s keep complaining to me about unfriendly app.
FieldEdge customer service has proven over time to be very helpful with our needs. The software itself is very diverse. We used 5 different dispatch softwares before trying FieldEdge, and we know now who is best.
Terrible editing text on equipment input. I wish I can send a video of what’s happening but when you edit the name of equipment it’s acting like how on a PC would use the insert option causing the letters to delete while typing
This app is not make us happy at all. Most of time is freeze. We have to delete and reinstall and reinstall again. I thought it was only me but now I look at some reviews other people have the same issue too. Whoever is the provider they should consider and take care the issues. This is not good at all. Very unhappy…
This app is absolutely horrible, very unstable we are constantly getting kicked out during the work day or the app locks up and you have to completely uninstall it it’s a joke for people trying to work and this past week FieldEdge claims to have updated but none of us can see out work order descriptions now stay away
It’s something new everyday with this app, won’t work offline, like in remote areas or just with bad signal. todays thing is it won’t let me make multi quotes, adds the first quote 5 times but not the second quote you’re trying to give .Frustrated is an understatement. The fix is to always to delete and re download, this is per FieldEdge.
This app might have some nice features like adding agreements and such. On the other hand this app glitches and crashes like crazy it’s to the point where you can’t even rely on it for a full day with no problems. Maybe fix these bugs and it might get the title of being an actual app.
Every update breaks this app. Now that it’s owned by a new company it’s even worse. Every time I swipe to go to invoice or any section in a work order is lags so much that it crashes. Now when I enter in the search bar and want to go to a certain equipment the keyboard sticks. Like I’m in HVAC and I could build a better app in swift than this
With the latest of the wonderful updates that we have received, EVERYONE is complaining about work order descriptions and NOW the mobile users report spell checking is gone from their notes section. Did you somehow disable iOS enabled spelling, automatic correction or what’s up?
I’m the process of changing over from housecall pro and FieldEdge is by far an inferior product. FieldEdge mobile app is not user friendly at all. The dispatching portion in the office takes twice as long to dispatch jobs. Customer service is horrible. The salesman offers the world with it and it is nothing close to what they promise.
I don't understand how this company can advertise as being the industry leader when their mobile app and desktop version lacks so many features. App is slow and not very easy to navigate. There ideas portal is a joke they never add worthy features. I do not recommend this app or desktop version.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. For the life of me I can’t understand why my company uses this app over other that work great like Service Titan. They do weekly updates on Friday evenings and every time I, and every other mechanic at my company, have to delete and reinstall the app for work orders to appear.
Work 12 hours a day just because this app adds another hour to your day. Missing info and data not saved consistently. Go from cell signal to Wi-Fi or vice versa and it’s totally confused. Get used to deleting this app and reinstalling this app many many times. Junk.
This is hands down the absolute worst service app I’ve ever used in my life. Nothing runs smoothly or as it should, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled this app more times than I can count. I may have to switch employers just so I never have to use this garbage app ever again.
App is constantly freezing even after closing at and going back in its still frozen only way to fix is deleting app and reinstalling it. As a technician this is extremely inconvenient especially if we need to be places certain times

Having issues sometimes it will run ok the it wouldn’t load up Workorder’s I can be working on my first couple then it would crash can’t find server or say error! I had to delete app then redownload app. And it would work only for one job then loc out error can’t find server!
