Mixed review.
Expensive. If PGE costs were not reprehensibly excessive with an abusive monopoly in a city already run into the ground with poverty and taxes, no solar company would have any sales. So we but the panels and get the greatest benefits during times of smallest need. Something fails. We call. We get a promise of help in 10-14 business days. Sometimes help comes as promised. Sometimes some of the problems get fixed. We have been producing 30 kWh instead if 54 for a month and a half right on through the hottest summer weeks without resolution. I feel treated as if I like to complain and yet I don’t. I like to appreciate people and give great reviews, and when I cannot, I like to be fair and give companies a chance to know specifically what may help.

Really good but not great
A lot of great information on the site, the only thing is they never update the status. I’m still showing at the first stage and in reality they have already installed my panels on my roof. It would be nice if it was kept up to date on your status. And now that I’ve tried like 1,000 nicknames to post this solicited review I took another star away.

No status slow chat
I’m logged into this app. I can see my name and email address. So I know I’m in. Yet, all status is set to pending on all the stages. So I contacted Customer Service via the chat. The chat took a LONG time to interact with the CS agent. I don’t know if that is the apps fault or Freedom Forever’s systems. I received the information of where I am at on the process from the agent and that several ‘tickets’ have to be submitted to see where all the updates are on dates that have passed on the schedule. The agent also recommended that the phone app may have errors and I should try from the computer. Which is hilarious since I tried the site previously and contacted CS and was directed to this app. Terrible.

Customer service is awful
I will warn anyone getting solar from this company pass. I originally was hopeful with the company but grew increasingly suspicious as time wore on. I had requested multiple times to change the solar panel designs and the equipment used. I felt I was given the run around by the salesman and low rated equipment was being selected without my consent or approval. I specifically wanted micro inverters used and no panels on the front of the property. None of this was followed through. My property had shaded areas and the use of single string inverters would of significantly degraded the efficiency of the system. I sent emails to the salesman and to the company proper and received no replies. I’ve canceled my project immediately.

Ok start needs some work
On my iPhone I can not see any of the documents . I get server error on all of them. If I look at my project I see some of the in progress design drawing that do not show up in app. I have made it past the design phase yet. Will update review as project progresses Update: moved the rating up to 4 stars now that most documents now show up on IOS devises. App is still not a great deal of help although the chat with an agent worked and was helpful. Will do another update at end of projsct..

App doesn’t give you much information
Just got our solar panels installed and downloaded the app for the first time. I have friends that have solar installed and have been able to see the apps they use to check the status of their panels and how much power they are producing. First off, the dashboard for the 4 categories of power production don’t fully display the numbers on line. Then, you should be able to click on bye current day and see the power production. I don’t ever write reviews, just disappointed thinking this app would be similar to others I have seen since you know the technology is there.

Not up to date
The information is not up to date. Every step of the process continues to be “pending”, and some of these steps were completed 4 months ago. And yes. I’m into the 5th month and still do not have solar production. The process is slow. Paperwork has not been submitted in a timely manner, my representative in non-communicative, and I am now paying for electricity and a solar bill. None of this is up to date on the app. Not is the paperwork that has been submitted. Choose another company, this one charges more than the national average, has failed to deliver, and can’t keep up with the app or the process.

Needs updating
App tends to lag behind actual process substantially, documents never load and display, energy production tab seems very basic compared to other solar energy company apps. Two of the four boxes (current power and energy last day) have never worked and always display 0. Would be nice to see each panel production in real time. The technology is there but implementation lags behind. Definitely goes in line with the entire process of getting solar panels installed. Only quick easy process is the salesman signing you up.

Links do not work -chat was useless
Tried to just find out if my system was working …finally and didn’t get any answer here . Tried to click on the links and contact customer service both e mail and phone links kicked me out of the App. Then I tried the chat and it was not helpful either could not get a question answered and then , guess what ? They were done for the day. I am not happy with this company my system has been installed for five months and I am paying for the system but not working as it was sold as to me . They don’t communicate after they get their money.

This app is not very good. The information that it’s supposed to supply is incomplete. I notified a costumer service representative that the information on the mobile app was not giving me all of the information that was displaying on the system performance page. Still same problem with no resolution. The top two boxes have been displaying 0 since I began the monitoring the system. The my documents page is very slow on downloading your documents and some of the documents are not available. If there was a lower rating that I could give them I would give it. FIX THE APP!

Can’t see documents
This app is not . The issue is on my IPhone i can’t see any of my documents. Because of this I have had issues with the progress of my solar system. I was never notified that my plans were ready for me to review and approve them. I had no idea they were ready. When I finally saw the layout I wanted to make some changes. When I finally got a hold of customer service I realized that I could see everything from my laptop. It would have saved a lot of time if somebody would have reached out to me sooner. Nothing is up to date.

Disappointed
From the beginning of this process, we have had poor communication with your company. My County permitting office told me they have not had communication with you and I just spoke to my Utility company and they told me the same thing. You have had to be pushed and prodded the whole way thru my project. I now understand after over a week having all you need to submit what my Utility company needs to proceed to get my solar turned on ,you are once again dragging your feet! I hope to be getting a call In the next day or so resolving this problem.

Software bug
The concept of the software is great but it has some bugs. When selecting text to copy and paste. The program shuts down and you will have to reopen the program. That is the only bug that I have found at this time. Looking forward to seeing the live report of how the panels are doing to producing energy to be used.

Freedom App Review
Very nice app, a few applications/Tabs are blank including a referral link that I would use to help others save like I did!! Also the instant power portion of the production tab does not populate, I would like to see these small omissions corrected. Other than that it has a lot of good information.

Not as described
The app has yet to populate tracking my solar that has been on for three weeks. They guarantee a certain amount of production, but there is no way to see it, because the app is not showing it. When you try and contact “chat” help, they respond, then close the conversation because you don’t answer when they reply to your questions. It can take all day to get a reply, but then they close if your not immediately answering. I just want the app to show me my system as advertised.

The idea of the app is good.
The biggest problem I have is getting to the information I need without getting the videos loading and playing as soon as the app is opened. I’m looking for information not a video explaining a step I’m already past. It wastes my time and the apps load time. Very annoying. The cell phone app is much worse than the iPad app. The iPad app has some use. But the iPhone app to me is almost useless. Sorry but there it is.

Freedom Forever App
App seems geared primarily to communication during install. Finding and tracking information about solar production after installation including problems w panels etc difficult to find, slow to update and lacking detail. Everytime you open the app you are taken to the contracting page to tell you where in the installtprocrss you currently are - we’ve had our solar for over a year and it isn’t helpful!

Needs improvement
The app is designed for the installation of panels. During the install process the app was useful to know the status of install. Now that the process is over it could be more useful for day to day. Also I have called the 800 number to ask questions and you get told to call multiple numbers and I still have not had my questions answered. I also was offered a sign up credit from freedom and have not seen that credit. So that’s a scam.

Glad I got this app
Going solar was a great choice for my family and I. This app really helped a lot since the beginning to keep us informed and even now that we’ve had solar we are able to monitor our system just like it says.

App needs update
App needs an update to were the end user can see what is actually being drawn and harnessed. On my app it doesn’t show no movement of what is produced and what is being used. I have had my approval now from my local power company approved since 26th of Jan and it still shows pending.

Needs lots of work
Once the system is installed and working, the only useful tab in the app is System Production. This page has only a few fields/values filled in and there is no explanation of what the various values mean. The only value filled in is Month Energy (which changed from 14 to 17 to 39 to 14 over the day). It would take less than an hour to write a few paragraphs to explain their meaning.

This service is the worst nothing like they said when they sold me the solar system !!!
Customer service takes over a week to respond and the phone lines are always down or hanging up on people. My battery is not working properly and they freedom solar doesn’t want to help. They can see my information and messages and they do nothing to help me but act like they are unable to see my attempts to comunícate with them.

Missing information
I looked at someone else’s app who also has solar who is a friend of mine. Their app shows them a breakdown of every panel on their roof and whether or not Dan burgers at each panel or even working or not. There’s also updates every 15 minutes to tell you how much power you produce the day also has graphs and charts that show you what is producing now what produce for the day this app has none of that very disappointing so far with this app.

Needs Work
This app barely works. At best you can see what you are producing. Other days it won’t update at all. Very dissatisfied. Wish I could look at it and know how my system is working. I have to go to the power company’s website to get the most information and that lags a bit as well. I have wondered how it would have been with with a older more established company.

Asked to acknowledge something I have not read and doesn’t apply to me as soon as I signed in! Why ? No one can answer, the chat person has to find out and hopefully you’ll get a reply. At that, hopefully she will also get a reply and send you information! We’ll see. I’m addition to that if you try to open a document you get an error message

System production
We know that the solar panels have been installed at our residence and are probably producing power. We are paying for the installation every month and have been doing so since August 2022. However nobody has bothered to reach out to us about tracking our solar production or helping us with how to apply for the federal tax credits for the install. I think you guys are more about talk and less about action. Your communication skills leave a lot to be desired. If you don’t provide us immediate help as required, we will make sure that everyone knows about your lack of customer service skills. You just want to make sure you get the installation job and then forget about your valued customers

Absolutely worthless
I installed this app at suggestion of our solar sales person. This app has not worked from installing it. After countless emails to freedom forever customer service and who knows how long waiting for a reply on an instant chat, I give this app at this point a big 0. Maybe it will start working at some point but for the last month it hasn’t done anything but take up space on my phone.

Absolutely the worst customer support on the planet
Once the system is installed, getting in touch with them is a nightmare. They are understaffed and overwhelmed. On a positive note, our bills went from $350 to $50 once the system was up and running, we just have to go to the energy company to get the information. This app, because of their customer service team has been a total disappointment.

Project Status
Like the last review I read on here. Great info on the site but not updating. Panels have been installed and utility is getting energy production on their site now. Status on website shows “Complete” but status “On this App” is still showing “Pending”. Please fix update issue..btw.. Live chat is not a quick response. I waited a couple of hours for an answer.

Needs Improvement
UI is a bit outdated, videos auto playing and the interface is not very user friendly. The scaling is also weird on a 15 Pro Max, almost like the app is loading an embedded webpage.

Status never changes
We signed our first contract with freedom forever on March 14, 2022. Yesterday, Friday, September 22, 2023. We finally got permission to operate. Whenever I check this portal. It still says everything is pending. I should be able to see how much energy is produced and how much energy we’re using but it still says the contract is pending. The status of the website hasn’t changed in over a year and a half.

Stopped Connecting to Server Three Days Ago
Worked ok last Thursday but not since. Its Wednesday, still not connecting to the server. I notified Customer Support yesterday via email, (gave up trying to get them to actually answer the phones), still not connecting. My guess - a problem with the server at Freedom. Maybe someone tripped over the extension cord. Customer ‘Support’ (an oxymoron) gets the ‘One’ Star evaluation, the App itself worked ok.

Poor support, terrible data
Data lags days after. Never reports actual current status. Shows nothing generated for 2-3 days then miraculously Kw’s appear where there were none before?? Chat support takes hours to get a reply so of course I’m not able to hold a chat conversation ( I don’t have time to stare at a screen for 90 minutes straight hoping for a reply) can’t trust this app.

Can’t use it
Sunrun has a document that is not necessary for me to sign. I have no way refusing to sign it. Please note it has been clarified thru Freedom forever that I do not need to sign this. I can’t use the app at all. Thanks Freedom forever. This app is supposed to be deleted by company area manager, but they can’t even fix it either. Back to the BBB. Geez this doesn’t want to post. App Failure
The app has failed to show me what my solar production has been. I was advised to update the app, in which I ensured I had the most current version. I was then advised to delete the app and start over, to which I did and the app still failed to show solar production. I have ensured the solar was properly working. I will be researching other avenues to monitor my solar production and deleting this app for good. It simply does not work.

Panel production accuracy
There is little accuracy in the app to give me an accurate review of how much energy is being produced. I called customer service about my guarantee of 8K per hour. The rep said there wasn’t a problem because it was producing 6K but my app said that at most it was producing at 51%. So I think this app is rotten Or the rep was lying to me…Or it is accurate and your 100% guarantee of 8K per hour needs to be addressed.

Solar app not working
I have been waiting for the usage part of this app to show me something anything?? But all I get is it’s still processing my request. But now I’m getting a bill from Edison and Sunrun. Wow this was supposed to save me money and it just made a U-Turn now it’s costing me. And to top it off I can’t get a hold of anyone that can explain what’s going on?? Very frustrating!! Let’s get it together people!

6 months and still nothing
I sign the agreement with this company in Nov 2022 and had panels installed in Dec 2022. System was too big for my home, they came out and removed 3 panels in april 2023. Here it is almost June 2023 and still nothing. I have to contact my rep to get a update, he was really helpful at the begging but at this point I have to contact him to get a status on my project. Almost 7 months now!

Outdated app
This app is very elementary. I wish it also would provide information on daily use of power, and also to show the axis power that we have created or at least what we’re pacing towards for the year knowing that sunny days produce more and shady days produce less but overall we would like to know what, the train would be on power

Missing information
We don’t get an accurate estimate of what our energy production is. We have weeks and months of missing information. It tracked our build progress extremely well and we have used the app to refer people to your company.

This app has the potential to be really helpful and give the owner a great view of where their project is at. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Not one of the documents listed will come up on the app. At best it returns an error or nothing at all. It does nothing for me therefore I’m giving it one star and that is probably being kind.

Solar stimulation promotion guideline agreement
To move on in the first part of the app requires agreeing with the Freedom Forever, solar stimulation promotion guidelines. However, when going to the Freedom Forever website, it says that that program will no longer be available as of 10/31, 2021. Has this app not been updated since 2021?

Needs Work
The app is a little disappointing. The solar production monitor is usually a little behind when compared with the solar edge app. Also, I was expecting to have the capability of monitoring each panel. None of my documents are viewable in the app and none of the contact links work.

Needs much improvement
When logging-in, need to switch to vertical orientation, but even then the bottom of the screen with the password entry is covered by the keyboard. Some screens don’t fit all the data and need to rotate the iPad to see everything.
