I have been crashing and much less stable with my otherwise incredibly stable 9700k, 32g Corsair, 2080 build at stock clocks, in both Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen using my iPad Pro for buttons. I mainly use my iPad for navigation while playing Elite but that isn’t really possible with this app. If you shrink it down to navigate with Road to Riches this app then makes you sign in with your complete email and password when returning. Ugh. Input lag was out of control on the non-official shards I tried, while the official ones were instant. The official shards for Elite looked very dated and none were very easy to read from distance or at a glance with muted colors and small writing. They advertise “Thousands of games”. Yes you can makes shards yourself, if you have tons of time, for lots of games, but there’s only pre-made shards for very few at best and many say they’re alphas. The app has potential, I subbed for the year and I’m kind of sorry I did because right now, I feel it’s a bare bones experience at best.
Worked just fine no issue, just kind of pointless when you already have all the key bindings memorized. It’s faster to use they keyboard then take your eyes off, find the button on the smooth touch screen then use the app.
Getting it to work with my iPad was a chore and required several messages from the responsive tech support- have to be holding the iPad on its side when installing it otherwise it won’t work. Most of the time, it just stops working, requiring one to uninstall and reinstall it. I like it when it’s working but it’s really more like a weekend science project alpha build. If I had it to do over, I wouldn’t spend any money on it until all the bugs are worked out of it. **Update** Gave this another try in Elite Dangerous. Obviously they have not made much headway. Many of the bindings don’t work at all. Emphasis seems to be on getting users to subscribe, not in offering a quality product.
I really don’t think I could ever go back. I used to buy number pads and make labels for the buttons. I did this for all the difference sim games I played. This is so much better. I wish I had this when I started playing elite dangerous. It would have made the learning curve a lot easier. It works great, setup was easy, and it just makes is more enjoyable to play. If you are wondering about it and you play E.D. just try it. Invest 20 mins setting it up and see for yourself.
The developers have done an amazing job with GameGlass. Now that I have used it I can never go back to anything less. If you’re on the fence... Get off! It’s so worth it. The developers are very responsive and are constantly working to improve GameGlass. Get this app. You will not regret it. :)
Whatever you do don’t pay for a monthly subscription to this service until your sure you will not have connection issues. I spent hours using online troubleshooting guide and could never get my tablet to hook up to my pc. I was really wanting this to work to try the interface on GameGlass to play Star Citizen. I even paid $4 for the monthly service but could never get it to connect no matter what I tried using their guides. Uninstalled.
Love the app I use it everyday despite it logs me out more than once a day and it’s quite annoying. Hope it gets fixed ASAP. It says there is a new app but there isn’t. I’m not sure why it’s logging me out of the app.
The TEAM is doing an awesome job on this....thanks for sharing to us of your vision. This interface is awesome by incorporating many of the bindings that most leave on keyboards, making the use more immersive in the game!
Okay when it works, but more often - it does not. Lags, not loading PREMIUM shards, buttons on Avionics shard for Star Citizen has some buttons WITHOUT actions bounded to them. Utterly disappointed. Mapped all needed buttons to my HOSAS and ditched this garbage
Created a account just to use this garbage app and all i get is a intant error when i click ED. This app is trash and a scam. Plus all positive reviews on here were paid to give a 5 star rating so don't trust them.
i have this for my ipad and my amazon fire tablets. while the fire responds just a bit slower (expected) they both are overall very snappy when responding to touch controls. subscribing gives you access to a huge amount of customization. tip: high speed ram and ssd recommended on the hosting computer for maximum snappy response.
I’ve been using GameGlass with Star Citizen for a few months and play with it on an iPad in between a pair of t16000 sticks. I love the setup. I have started experimenting with the Forge which is pretty cool and useful as well. Support is very good. Anytime I have reached out, I have gotten a quick reply. This is definitely worth the try, especially if you play any sim games.
I don’t know how else to say it, but this is the pinnacle of immersive reality. Not virtual reality, real reality. I’ve been a Star Citizen backer, tester, and credited producer for 5 years now. I’ve been with the project since the first code iteration being a room and nothing more. I’ve worked through the game’s continued changes, new flight models, across both cryengine and then lumberyard, from nothing to what it is now. I can say with utmost certainty I will never log on and access the game world without a couple tablets next to me. The ease of access gameglass gives you, which you would never understand without experiencing it, and the time savings it grants is immeasurable. The interaction between touch and action is single digit input lag MAYBE 2 milliseconds. No more fiddling with Inner Voice (F) No more Mobiglass contacts for landing (F1) No more slash-commands for emotes. Everything you want is there... right there, just touch it and it instantly happens. Excitement isnt expressable in just words. Go download it, install it, try it then you’ll never want to play without it again. Get in while the getting is good because this is going to blow up when it goes fully mainstream and like JustinTV (which turned into Twitch) or original XM were word of mouth from the gate, this program is going to be the forefront of interactivity in the world of immersion. TRY IT USE IT BUY IT CHOOSE IT triple A+ devs. outstanding job
App Won’t connect to Elite Dangerous submenu. Error message says contact http://support.gameglass.gg. Nothing there connected to the error or offering advice. Just offering more “shards” to buy. Don’t bother.
