Had trouble getting this to work at all with DC iLottery — until I talked to a rep who recommended turning off WiFi since the DNS settings in my Verizon FiOS router were configured to block geolocation. So if you’re on mobile and having issues, my first recommendation would be to try turning off WiFi. As far as the interface of the app, it’s a little confusing. One of the directions says to allow location services “while using” but elsewhere it says to “always” allow location services.
I agree with the last guy who wrote a review. Happened to me on two occasions, when I installed this app of course. Wanted to cash out when I was betting 500 to 1 and got to -110, obviously that’s a great return on such an underdog wager. But it wouldn’t let me I had screenshots of my location services showing arrows I have full bars everything was working but I couldn’t cash out. I brought this up with bet MGM and obviously or better yet it seems like they’ve gotten the same complaint by many people because they sent me the same generic email back cash out in that guaranteed when that wasn’t even the issue the issue was location services stop me from cashing out. Don’t use this app and if you do don’t plan on cashing out when you’d like to. I’ve been with many online betting apps but bet MGM seems to be the one that favors this app and has screwed me!!’
Like it seriously is so suspect because every time I’m in the middle of like a win or something it just automatically says oh we can’t verify your location like what bro it’s so suspect it’s not even funny like you’re so right about how when you have a winner something it just kicks you out then it pisses me off to no end like it’s like they have a thing going like once you start winning bang you can’t find your location like what bro seriously don’t waste your time with this app and spending money on the casinos that need it because I don’t understand why sugarhouse doesn’t have an app for Pennsylvania but they have one for Jersey and every other casino in PA has their own app where they don’t require this at all and none of this usually happens sometimes but not every five seconds like this app
I have been trying to use this app for over 2 years with required sports betting apps- it is the WORST. I have downloaded and reinstalled multiple multiple times and it is hit and miss if it works.- Usually MISS. I get the same messages- cant find you in a state although when i do the ‘test’ it IDs me exactly when I am- but yet on the sports app it wants me to reinstall it or says i am outside of a state. It does this on iphone, MAC, and pc. Does it with safari and chrome and edge. Talked to tech support so many times with both sportsbook people i know some of them by first name- this app is a total waste and DOES NOT WORK WELL AT ALL. Save your self frustration and dont bother trying to use it.
I’ve never seen an app that fails so badly and still exists. I encourage all companies/organizations that use this app to drop it. It’s really an insult to our dignity that we are forced to use something that everyone who has used agrees it doesn’t work. IT DOESN’T WORK. And obviously, after all these reviews who say the same thing about how it doesn’t work, the developer hasn’t bothered to fix it. Response to the developer: You say this to every review yet nothing has been fixed. Obviously, you would rather spend time asking everyone to submit a ticket than on fixing your app, which obviously not working.
This is horrible- why must I got physically into the app each time I play a game - why does it give me an error and tells me to download the app when I’m already in the Location app. This is the worst . It’s been bad for a long time but now it’s worse. Hope the casinos use a different location platform- this one is awful
So I managed after great difficulty to deposit some funds several weeks ago but then couldn’t play. NowI am instructed to uninstall and reinstall this application. It doesn’t work. It seems to know my location but doesn’t seem to be communicating with the website. Now I’ve wasted another hour trying to get my browser to work my Chromebook to work my iPhone to work. Nothing works. I’ve tried this a few times over the last six months it never works I’ve installed uninstalled and reinstalled.
I am forced to use this app on bet rivers and let me tell you it’s the worst experience I ever had. Every 15 seconds it locates you. Pop up after pop up. You cannot hide these pop ups because the app won’t work. It only works on mobile and not WiFi. There’s times it does but most of the time it does not. I also noticed once you have a big win the app starts doing it more and the wins stop. If you are gambling on a site that uses this app do yourself a favor save your money and don’t gamble on that site.
I agree with many others. This is the absolute worst app I’ve ever used. It will only locate your location within itself, the app itself, but will never ever work when trying to use a site, like BetRiver casino. Simply won’t launch, claims it isn’t active, yet you go to the app and it is. Disgusting frustrating waste of time. Makes me wonder what the ‘real’ purpose of this app is?! Quite suspicious that an app has such terrible reviews and ratings, and they’ve done nothing to fix it.
This app is so bad. Just look at the other reviews. I play online at Ocean AC. I like to play their bonuses they give me. I’ve given up. Literally every 60-90 seconds I get kicked off, have to close it out, log back in, and load the game again. It takes everything I have not to throw my phone and smash it. I move around thinking I’m just in a bad spot but to no avail. At a minimum this makes for a bad experience. There’s plenty of other sites out there that work better.

I have been trying to play my numbers for over 3 months and every time I try to pay GeoGuard block me and it took my money but I can not play. And now it has my money. I have called both places and still nothing . And my money is gone to the Ilottery games it is the worst app I have ever seen they need to come up with a better way to play in Washington DC . I have tried every device desktop chomebook IPhone and Ipad none work. So what is wrong with this picture.
Been using this app for BetRivers for over a year. Experience was never pleasant and always seemed like more work and error codes then needed. However fast forward to NFL 2021 season it just plain won’t work. I have the same issues as other reviewers where the app is open and tracking my location but BetRivers doesn’t recognize the GeoGaurd app being open Please fix the app or BetRivers please move on and find a new location App
GeoGuard is not working and having issues last few days and today. It is showing as working on my DC lottery app. I had a IT representative check my status and it shows that it is on in my IPhone but her reading was showing as OFF.??? What is the solution???
Why is it that every day at least once is it saying I’m not in the state I’m in, otherwise it’s been a major upgrade compared to previous location apps
Never gives the right info to a website that needs it to work. Pop up messages about needing wifi and location services always need to be on. I don’t like being tracked all the time. Fine locator app by itself.s
This location validator is the WORST app/program EVER. I didn’t want to give it one star. Bet Rivers online casino uses this and I cannot tell you how much money I’ve lost while playing. The app kicks you out of the casino because ‘it cannot locate you within the boundaries of state’ IN THE MIDDLE OF A SPIN. When you validate your location, the slot doesn’t pick up from where it closed. I have lost so much money while playing. It’s ridiculous. FIX THIS CRAP APP.
I’ve followed all the instructions and I can never check out on the dc website. It just keeps opening geo locate. I can’t get help because the app says my email is not set up correctly on my device to email them. I’m thinking maybe I don’t use apple mail and it’s defaulting to that but I don’t know because it doesn’t clarify. There seems to be no other way to get help. So here I am leaving a review.
I am seeing many reviews saying this app is horrible and the developers post back asking for all of this information. But if people are continuing to have issues and constantly writing posts about it then what exactly are you doing to solve the problem. I can’t ever get on to sugar house . When i finally do for a couple minutes i get kicked out again. It’s really annoying.
Seriously if I could I would rate it that way. Get about 5 mins of play and geolocation fails and kicks me out. Too frustrating!! I review almost everything and this is the first time I rated 0stars. I can’t believe a casino would even put their reputation on the line with this app. And they do nothing about it. Save your time and money and go somewhere else that uses your location through your phone. SugarHouse could care less too.
I made several future bets. They take the money out of your account immediately. None of the future bets have taken place yet but all of them are no longer in the my bets section of my account. I have tried repeatedly to contact BetMGM and they have never returned my emails. There is no telephone number to contact them on this site. It is impossible to get in touch with them.
This app is terrible. I downloaded it for dcilottery. I put $50 on my account and I have not been able to use it or get a refund. This should not have been released until it was fixed and working. Don’t add money until you are confident that you can can actually play online. They took $50’from me and after several calls, emails and chats there is no resolution.
You need to enable the phones location thru the app. Especially If you’re using it for a Sportsbook. Then make sure its up and running in the background before you login. Just don’t forget to close that app when your done for the day. Good luck 🤟🏼
I’ve tried time and time and time again to get this app to work! Several emails with customer care, despite a few successes when the app DID work, and I still can’t get the app to consistently do its job. Totally frustrating and I don’t have the energy to endure more back and forth communication with customer support. All I want to do is play the Lottery!
This app is terrible for sports betting. The app constantly is making me restart the app to verify location. It is slow and a pain to use. So much pop up notifications that I decided to not use the sportsbook app associated with them. Together you will never be more annoyed than using any sportsbook using this app. Use larger sportsbook apps with there own location services.
this is the biggest scheme online casinos have going for them in order to give themselves a house edge. its more then obvious they know how dysfunctional this app is but they continue to use it knowing its going to drop connection constantly and restart the progress of your game. complete scums. this situation should be an actual crime. no matter what u do if u rely on this app for a gambling site that money u spent is 100% GONE.
Constantly losing my location, forcing my apps to boot me out, and not being able to reconnect to my location for hours! Full 5G network, and my cellular data and location are on and accurate on my find me app, however I constantly get “ error- something went wrong while updating the map! “ absolutely obnoxious and annoying!
It’s getting frustrating the the other review. There is a disconnect between website requiring it and the app. I’ve tried it on my phone, iPad, MacBook, hp laptop. I’ve installed the deleted the app numerous times on every device to get it to work. I hope it is resolved since big casinos require this and it isn’t functioning properly between the two
New Jersey online casinos should NOT even be using support outside of New Jersey! WE have to play here and be geolocated here, so should they! Please do not delete this again. I’ve been trying for months when I talk to casino they say I can tell your in Philadelphia but geolocator doesn’t know I’ve deleted it and downloaded it again tried different browser and clearing cookies , and still a month later and it still won’t let me play ! Our local tribal casino requires this app in order to play online. The casino’s website and this app continuously cycled through finding my location and then 3 seconds later it can’t find my location. Then FINALLY the deposit was successful but when I went to play, the app says it can’t locate me. So now it has my money but I can’t even play. Absolute waste.
I don’t normally leave reviews but this is ridiculous! I’m constantly getting kicked out of every app/game I get into. Plus it tells me that I’m not in my state???? I am regularly being notified by MGM Sports that my location cannot be verified, although I’m at the same location when my location is verified (NC) and when it is not verified.
How Y2K of you to build such a horrible system. Followed directions twice. Still doesn’t validate my location. Dc Lottery what kind of website is this. Zero integration and no one to answer the phone when you can. Can’t even click the phone number on the webpage. Basic programming. The mayor should be ashamed of this.
No wonder you only have 2 stars!!!! I constantly have problems with this locator. Even though it will locate me on the map give my address but still won’t launch. I WISH AFTER YEARS OF PROBLEMS THEY COULD GET IT TOGETHER!! I was in the middle of a win when it went out on me again. HATE THIS APP
This app is awful at determining location! I can be sitting in the middle of PA, full cell service or WiFi on and still it can’t seem to find me! I hate that this is the only app Rivers uses! Maybe I’ll just stop playing at rivers all together and find someone who uses a better service to locate you!
This app simply does not do what it is supposed to do. I have tried it with both the DC iLottery and their sports bet site and it never works. There is clearly some sort of fraud going on between the lottery and these developers as no one can actually use the website, so I don’t see the point.
I’ve been trying to use with DCiLottery. Had this app for over a year, was able to deposit money but only able to actually play 3 times. App sees my location but still can’t validate in the DC website. Tried turning off WiFi… using different browsers…. Can’t believe DC contracting with this developer.

Worst program ever. Had to use this for little rivers casino and it quit working at least every five minutes or so. Right in the middle of games. So annoying to have to keep logging back in. I lost my money and now I am deleting all of it. Will never use it again.

My experience has been terrible. This took what could be fun and made it incredibly frustrating. Showed my exact location on a map but was able to coordinate it with Bet Rivers. Tried every recommended solution. Only gave it 1 star so my review would be hopefully be shown. DELETED THIS APP!
Need to get a quick bet in before game time? Don’t rely on this app to verify your location quickly. BetRivers should have chosen another geolocation company to partner with. I never write reviews, but I can’t take it anymore. I have to go to App Store on every login to launch app. Annoying!
