All kidding aside my elderly parents have GEXA Energy. My mom asked to review their bill and new plan GEXA offered and upon reviewing and interviewing GEXA rep it was great!!! I’ve never experienced such well mannered and patient customer service plus they know what they’re doing with the old bait n switch deception many energy companies use like your just so confused you settle n move on. GEXA people help !! And all is understood by conversation end. My parents have their fixed billing with up to 5k kilowatts per month allowance for $184 and they could have the smart thermostat but my mom is concerned big brother will turn off her AC lol well they are super happy and so am I as I switched too GEXA after such a wonderful experience helping my mom and so happy to say it is the best thing I’ve done for energy choices I've experienced. Go GEXA !!
I’ve been trying to make $45 payment on my .96 bill for weeks and app will not allow me to pay. I’ve tried to chat with live representative and at 6:39pm I sent screenshot of what app was saying and at 6:39 he said he didn’t see screenshot then at 6:39 said are you there and still at 6:39 he says because I have not responded he was ending chat. I called and talk to a live person the next day and she tried to explain how to use the app I explained to her that I’ve been using this app for over 4rs and not once have I had a problem paying my bill she proceeded to tell me how to pay through the app and then I gave her permission to look at my account she said I have your card information is it ok if I try to make for you and once again unable to process $45 payment. Told me to try again 24 to 48 hrs. I just tried paying $65 on the same .96 cents bill but still getting same message including that I am now 6 days overdue on bill.
It’s sad that just one day after you forget to pay the bill, they charge you $20 for a disconnection notice. So they charge $20 for one piece of paper, let’s see… that’s $5 for a pack of 500 pages which equals to them making $10,000 from one pack of printing paper, charging each page at $20. What they should charge is a reconnection fee or a disconnection fee. Not $20 for a piece of paper. It makes even less sense if they charge you for the notice if you have paperless statements. It also doesn’t make sense when I’m barely home and get a bill of over $200. There is something seriously wrong here. Nothing is really running until I get home and when I say I’m out all day, I mean from like 9am to like 9pm.
The app is okay. I had issues with facial recognition and keeping my password stored, so I turned those features off and it’s been working just fine for me. As far as the service goes- I don’t have any complaints. Literally the cheapest energy provider I have found in Houston. Was paying over $300 with Direct energy but my bill has since more than halved with Gexa. On average, I only pay $120- $160 a month. Much better/ cheaper than my previous provider and cheaper than anything else in the area.
I have talked to Gexa at least once a month during my 2 year contract about their unsupportive app! The “insights” are ALWAYS two weeks behind, so you never know exactly how much electricity you have used. Their answer is to go to another website to get true data. Well if I can go to another website, then so can Gexa to keep their app updated. The only time Gexa’s app is up to date is when the monthly bill is due and they want their money. The worst customer support company ever and the laziest IT department. My 2 year contract is up soon, TG! Gexa is so far behind the rest of the companies we have to choose from. Even this morning, more app issues. Ciao!
I have been a Gexa customer for at least 4 years; never have I gone over the 5 day limit past the due date of my bill; I have been paying my bills out of my Social Security benefits and I don’t get paid until the 4th Wednesday as I am sure you have many customers that are on the same! I am ashamed to admit that I do business with your company if this is how you are going to treat your customers!! Why don’t you wait until customers don’t pay before you tell them their service will be disconnected- shame on you!!! Can’t wait until my contract is up or I move to get different electric company!!!
This app is just as bad as Gexa Energy. First off Gexa Energy is rip-off stay far way from this company. And just like the company the app is just another horrible experience. It’s always glitches and freezes. I don’t get any notifications. The chat doesn’t work. The contact us button doesn’t let you call or copy and paste the customer service number. This app is a reflection of how of a joke this company is. You would think they would be able to build a better app with all of the money it’s stealing from its customers.
App keeps prompting me to update even after I update
For the last 2 days I can’t open the app without it prompting me to update the Gexa app. So I select the update feature, it closes and proceeds to launch the App Store where it updates. I then select the open feature and what do you know… the same update feature is right back. It keeps cycling this which is annoying. I’ve decided to uninstall the app until hopefully it is resolved. I’ll check back in 30 days *fingers crossed*
This app is a joke. It’s full of glitches and bugs. Lately it crashes when I try to open it. I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and it still crashes. In the app, it’s impossible to read the consumption/usage grid. The numbers on the bottom or the side of the chart are not clear. The chat doesn’t work. You can’t call them through the app because that doesn’t work either. All in all a horrible experience. Pretty sad for a major energy provider.
App does not work. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and still does not all me to sign in. Website works but the agents and website recommends you use their app which doesn't work. When I was able to access the app (first week) Everything was behind 2 days and won’t update with accurate information until 2 days later. Will be switching my energy provider once my term is expired with Gexa Energy.
Ever since I signed up for Gexa, I have Ben hit with late payments. I have set up three different payment means, Bank card, debit card and bank account. Every month, something happens and the payment does not go through. My account says paid til it’s late and then I get a disconnect notice. I go online and pay the balance along with late fees with the same payment that is set up in autopay. This is a joke. They are scamming for extra money!! Do NOT set up autopay with this company.
The app has put itself in an endless go update the app cycle despite it being updated. I cannot access anything on the app with this most recent update even after uninstalling and reinstalling.
The app has issues on iphone. However; it seems that if you delete app and install again it fixes the issue as I have done that every time it doesn’t let me log in. As per the due dates; I have yet to understand why it keeps changing. I removed auto pay since I have had two instances in the past where my bill generated twice and was being billed twice on the same month.
I was scammed by the Gexa Agent and put on a plan that has me paying an exorbitant price for electricity. The less electricity I use, the more I am charged per kilowatt, and when I do need to use more in the summer months my bill is also high. Resulting in a high electric bill all year long. When I called to complain to customer service, I was told they would transfer me over to a supervisor but then hung up on me.
Everytime I open the app it wants to say there’s an update. It won’t let me do anything, and I’ve updated the app. Only that “update the app” alert pops up. Can’t do anything else. It’s stuck.
I can never login to access my bill and account. After resetting my password and enabling/disabling facial recognition, it just never lets me login. I know my credentials are right because I can login via the website, so I don’t know what the app is doing. It’s poorly made and managed. It has never been a smooth experience with this app and company, so definitely going to look for another provider with a working app.
They had my apartment wrong for 3 months so I payed them and asked for them to credit my account every time but they would “close the account” and start a new one every time. Then the 1 month they got it right I was charged over 400 dollars (single man that works away from home over 50 hours a week, in a 1 bed 1 bath) run away from them as far and as fast as you can
This apps forces you to update it every time there is a revision. The latest update actually requires another update not yet available!!!! This is a great app to monitor electricity consumption on a daily basis, it also projects the monthly charges based on predicted consumptions and temperatures.
I can’t get the app to work. I’ve used it for some years now, and it just stopped working. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results; also rebooted phone. The app freezes on the opening (logo) page, and then shuts down. I have the most current iOS. Please fix this!
I keep getting a message about a new update but once I click update the app doesn’t show the update option and I’m unable to use the app with out doing this new update. Please help and fix this issue. For now I’ll be waiting the website on my laptop since the app is not working.
I like the app up until recently when it asked me to update and I did and now I still get an update message and I cannot see the information for my account. I have already shut off my phone and repowered on and the message persists.
I changed to Gexa because you were supposed to be a fair electric company. I have found your rates to be extremely high and expensive. Any electric bill over $400 a month is too high and especially for a small home. I informed you at the beginning I can’t afford electric bills like this! You should have listened cause now you have lost a loyal customer!
It’s a little weird to have locked my account for 24 for 2 attempts at trying to pay an overdue bill and my next month’s bill. I understand locking it after password attempts or failed logins, but payments? It’s insane, my light got cut off, all because it would not accept my payments. Disappointed in them. :(
This app is useless! Just like the actual gexa customer service! Most of the time you can’t log in and when you do what exactly are you looking for? The app is supposed to show you your invoice but not this app, it will tell you when the invoice will be available however it’s never right don’t waste your time on this app
Text and function tabs fall outside the margins of my iPhone screen, making it impossible to pair my EV with the app. There is no way to zoom out. Tech support was unable help, other than to suggest that a tablet might give a full view. I don’t own a tablet, unfortunately. The app developer needs a refresher course in app development.
Had been using the app for quite some time with relatively no issues. Just updated it to the latest version after being prompted to do so when signing in. Now the app opens, does the Face ID recognition, and immediately closes out rendering it useless. Can’t get the app to open/stay open.
I opened my old Gexa app only to see a box in the middle of my screen saying update available and a button to update. The button doesn’t work so I deleted my app and loaded one from the App Store. I opened it up to find the same screen, so I still can’t see anything on the app.
Literally will not move past the sign in page. Ever since their recent update I’ve had issues with paying online as well. Called multiple times to let Gexa know and customer service seems to have no idea how to submit a technical support ticket. This company is awful.
I have never reviewed an app. I review restaurants, and other service places, but never an app. This app is that bad. The problem is they know it’s bad as well but have done nothing to fix it. If they are too incompetent to hire a company with the intellectual capacity to create a simple app; how on earth can they manage an energy company? I am switching immediately!
Due dates keep changing, notifications don’t go through. Only reason why we can’t leave it is the contract they trap you in. They have extreme and unfair fees incurred because of their issues of miscommunication and lack of consistency. I can’t believe they’re still in business, can they be reported?
Gexa Energy needs to enhance their login flow. I always have to enter my email because it’s not saved then hit continue in order for Face ID to launch. Very poor login experience.
The app has a message that an update is needed. If you click on the app it takes you to the App Store. Click on open and it takes you to the app with the same message about an update. Tried to delete the app and reinstall it, but the same thing happens.
It is extremely difficult to make a simple payment, and then it forces you to always use a credit card when the bank account should also be an option to use
Bills all of a sudden doubled up to $400+ /mo and despite lowering my energy usage my bill is $730 this month. I’d suggest breaking the contract and finding a better company. Customer service is usually total crap too, although I had one person who was nice once..
