Worth the switch
I switched over from square and it took me atleast over a month to learn how to use square and I’m a tech savvy person but lord knew my struggle was real with that website. I kept hearing about glossgenius and decided to make the switch so I did and I’m glad I did because everything has been easier for me and smooth as ice skating ice ! . There are a lot of things I wish they had but I know that they are hearing are concerns and voices on what we need and want and are following through with the best that they can. It will take time but I’m here for the long run . This app is super easy to use. I do wish we didn’t have to pay 24$ a month or at least lower it because we have to pay processing etc . I’m still waiting on the desktop access more like the app that’s the only thing that makes me want to leave is that I have to do everything on an iPad or a iPhone and my high energy self don’t sit right with that it’s hard to focus.

Honest review
I’m an solo esthetician with my own business. I originally started playing around with GlossGenius when I was in school, love the esthetic & just how appealing the app really is. However, I really wanted a form feature, so sadly I switched to Fresha. I am now back with GlossGenius, they have a form feature & it’s so nice to have, they have waivers, which are great! The only downside to the forms is it’s unorganized chaos, you have to create your question & assign it to a service, for every question. The other booking site I used had a form for everything (that you created), so it was way more organized and you didn’t have to scroll through 100 questions to take something out.. etc. Another feature I wish Gloss would add is a payment link, or even a product store. You can sell products during the actual checkout process, but say you had a new client (& you don’t have their card on file) that wants to buy a cleanser, you literally cannot accept payment unless they’re right in front of you with their card. So a payment link would be a huge feature, I had to create business Venmo in order to accept payment outside of Gloss. I think the esthetic of Gloss is amazing, but to pay $50 a month is a little steep for the amount of features it’s missing, or that could improve the overall experience of the booking site. Other than those minor things, it’s really a great booking app!

Beautiful but lacking some features.
I was using Acuity for years, and made the switch to GlossGenius mostly for the built in marketing which is so nice! However it is missing some features especially for the steep almost $50/month price. The two key features I think would make this worth it would be having an option to “optimize schedule” or “minimize gaps” in the scheduling. Acuity had that and it was nice to not have clients booking at random times of the day and leaving me with gaps and losing income due to not being able to schedule another appt where I normally would be able to if the gaps weren’t there. Also I wish was a legitimate two way sync for the calendars. The “two way sync” that they claim is not 100% accurate. You still have to block off time separately in the GG app or change your existing calendar entry into a GG entry. It doesn’t sync in the way that you can block out a time on your phone/google calendar and have it block on your GG. It’s still extra steps that you have to take to block time out. And it doesn’t correctly sync to my google calendar at all. It takes over a whole day sometimes for the entries to update so I can’t even rely on it. Acuity had full and seemless two way sync for all calendars which was super convenient. Honestly if it weren’t for the marketing feature I would have stuck with Acuity as they have much better features for almost half the price.

Good for very small businesses
If your just starting this may work for you. There’s a few twists and turns ,for instance you can’t cash out your money unless you have particular banks that work with Gloss Genius. They submit dispute documentation for you instead of you doing it yourself. I never lost a dispute in seven years until I joined this platform. They lose 99% of the disputes but have a gold tier package that if you pay more, it’ll protect you from losing disputes. If you don’t have that tier, good luck. The confirmation emails change often and clients can’t find important information for their appointments because of it. They have a house call feature, but you can’t see that the client selected this without digging through your emails or scrolling way to the bottom of the appointment. They have very short characters for describing services and this can’t be seen for the client to read without the client hovering over the service picture. Be ready for clients constantly texting and calling asking what you’ve already typed up on the site. They can’t see it. They don’t have certain features like if you have a Monday special, you can’t block off all other days so clients will book your special on random days instead of Mondays only. When issues arise, they just repeat what they’ve already said a million times they don’t care.

Boutique Salon Owner, switched salon from square
I switched my entire salon staff over from Square a couple of months ago and we are really loving Gloss Genius. It’s very easy to use. I did have to get four stars though, because there has been a huge hindrance for our customers who find us online and on Facebook and Instagram… Which is the majority of our new clientele in this day of time. When they log into the booking page, it only shows the providers name not the services so if you have a multi service salon like I do, you may should wait until they integrate that, because as of right now we’ve lost some business over it. New clients, who want a spray tan don’t know who the service provider is who does spray tans, or, for example, a new client who finds us on Instagram, doesn’t know the service providers name who does nails so unfortunately we’ve had some negative feedback about it and I know for a fact it has cost us. Hopefully Gloss Genius will update it soon but I do have a great things to say about their tech-support. They are awesome at helping out. I just hope they can update this for a multi service line like ours ASAP or we are going to have to find something else unfortunately.

Shows Promise But Needs Improvements
Update: app consistently goes out with updates made during the workday. At least 3x in the last 2 months we could not book, check out or even see the services for that day. Clients could not book on their ends and constantly get error messages using credit cards completely aside from the update glitches. Most of the complaints you see are made by many but nothing changes, the same basic option upgrades/changes are requested month after month but don’t happen. Original: These are items I’ve shared but haven’t seen progress towards change yet: 1. Allow users to edit the default deposit policy. Showing a “YOUR DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE!” message is *very* off-putting for prospective clients who may need to cancel. Adding it to the waiver or email confirmation (as suggested) is too late when that message is shown prior to even booking. It’s simple folks; fix it! 2. The black background. Yes it’s sleek but some users of a particular age are just making the adjustment to having to use apps. The black background and colored text makes them work harder to make the transition. 3. It’s been said for a long time now: make the desktop fully functioning; nobody wants to do all their building on a damned phone. Or just restrict your app to users 25 and under who don’t function outside of a cellphone.

Good but needs some improvement
This is a great booking app I’ve been using it for around 2 years now and there are pros and cons. I like the app for booking but when you try to process sales for products there needs to be an option to select more than 1 so you don’t have to edit the product and price every time you sale 3 or 4 and same with services I have families that come in and want to pay all together, so I have to add a haircut and then edit a haircut to say 3 haircuts and then edit the price to match that; instead of being able to just select 3. Also when it comes to discounts I wish you could just add a dollar amount rather than a percentage because then you have to sit and calculate to make sure you are entering the correct percentage for the dollar discount promised. And I don’t like that addresses don’t save and cards on file can only be used with an appointment and not for sales. I have a lot of clients that order products in between appointments and want me to use the card on file. As for booking and the website esthetics and options I do love that and love the url links and how easy it is to share with clients.

Faulty app & scamming people out of $
I’ve been using glossgenius for almost a year and am now realizing they have been stealing money from me. They provide “marketing” which you have to pay extra for and you pay for each client you have. I have 700 clients.. Their system doesn’t filter out contacts that have either opted out, been banned, or are duplicated so these marketing services I’ve been paying extra for every month because you pay per contact/client, I just found out aren’t being used properly and I’m paying for marketing to those contacts when they’re not actually receiving anything. I asked customer service how I can filter those contacts out and they said there system doesn’t allow that, nor am I able to see that in my system. I asked for a refund for the extra money I’ve been paying out to those contacts and they refused and told me they know their system is faulty and acknowledged that it was stealing from me and told me to “be more careful”. Not to mention their customer service is only by email and they take days to get back to you. They have a chat and call option but if you try it, it’ll just tell you to email them and wait… square and vagaro doesn’t have these faults and works correctly if you’re looking. I will be switching back.

Great but not ideal !
I’ve been using gloss for about 3 years now , I am a esthetician and love everything about the app except the card feature that you have the option to require during booking . I have a huge clientele and sadly have to send individual invoices to protect myself . Most booking systems do not allow you to upload a invalid card , but their system does . When a client no shows . We ARE NOT protected . Ive reached out to them several times on this matter but no luck . So unfortunately I will be leaving gloss this week to a more ideal booking system . I also dislike the language email about cancellations , it states if you need to cancel or change to contact (the business number) but that’s confusing because they don’t , I’m busy most the time and don’t need my clients texting me to cancel , when the link is in the email to cancel , the language should be more specific . The customer can cancel on their own until the cancellation window is up . Hopefully they get it right soon because it’s a great app but many of my fellow estheticians are leaving for these reasons .

I love it, but...
Four major things needed: 1) split forms of payment at checkout. I’ve had to make two separate appointments before for clients and check one out in cash and the other with card to do this. A big inconvenience. If split form of payment were allowed at checkout, it could be smoother and less time consuming. 2) there is no way of entering gift cards for purchase, only for payment, which I find very odd. 3) consent forms should be an option to upload to have clients fill out and stored in their client file, this is necessary instead of getting a 3rd party app to do this or wasting printing & paper. 4) deposits, we need an option to take deposits. This can ensure, some of us, security with our more time consuming and costly appointments. I wouldn’t mind paying more monthly if these things were up to date. And I say up to date because a lot of other competing booking apps have these options. But I choose GlossGenius for its sleek design, seemless website to app connection, and it keeps things simple for the client. But if in a year from now these aren’t added on to improve our businesses, I’ll have to switch.

site isn’t working do not recommend
Link doesn’t work- people can’t book- you don’t get paid - plain and simple. Paid for my subscription on 12/17 $12(promo) - even bought a card reader - $49 now I’m out $62 It’s 12/28 and my booking link doesn’t work - takes my clients to a the “start a free trial” page 🤯 Then I get a message from a potential client that said “I tried clicking on your link but I wasn’t able to see your services” wow I am so frustrated right now… like what’s the point in paying a subscription for something that isn’t going to work - or is gonna work sometimes😅 Also you cannot sell items online, so if you are thinking about selling goods to people aka skincare/beauty products you will need a whole other site.. I just found that out today also. I’m a solo esthetician so every dollar has to be used the correct way otherwise it’s wasted. Today I definitely feel cheated like GlossGenius is stealing my money. After all I’ve been telling my followers to click a link to book an appointment and then find out that link doesn’t work.. horrible experience!! Im going back to square where it’s free, it’s simple and you can sell physical goods online! 🙃 P.s. did I mention I’ve already spent $62 with GlossGenius only to have this happen 🙈

Love gloss genius
I love gloss genius, it has so many more things it’s capable of then what square provides. It super easy to use and I really like the lay out. My main reason for giving it only 3 stars and why I’m considering going back to square is because I miss having the square savings option and along with that I also REALLY hate that fact that when my clients (especially older clients) will text back the gloss genius confirmation message and I’m unable to see that they have texted it. I’ve had multiple people text gloss saying they’re unable to make it, instead of clicking on the link and canceling. So they think they’ve done what they need to do and they don’t show up. On square if they just text the number back I’ll be able to see that they have canceled that way. I understand it’s kind of the clients fault but its happened enough times to where I feel like at that point the layout is difficult to comprehend if you’re an older person. Again I love gloss but for those reasons I am considering going back to square. I really hope these features will be introduced and then gloss would PERFECT

Wish I’d done more research
I wish I had looked into this further before switching my entire salon over. What salon doesn’t use a front desk with a desktop!? This service is absolutely useless on a desktop computer. You have to set the service duration the same for every stylist (hint: we are not all the same). There’s no way to message clients through the app, and we REALLY don’t wanna be using our personal phones to text clients. The app doesn’t notify you of appts if someone books it on the backend. For example, I’m home today, if someone calls the salon and one of the other girls books me for this afternoon I won’t be notified. You only get notified if the client books online. Clients can’t book by “service” on the website, it forces them to chose a stylist. How are clients supposed to know which stylist offers a specific service? It doesn’t allow clients to book multiple of one service (a family of haircuts). The website looks neat and the reviews are a nice touch but that’s about it. It doesn’t have nearly as many features as other booking sites, including square which is pretty generic.

Needs Bigger Server
I’ve used GG for 3 years. They’ve made lots of updates and I’m really happy about most. Lately, I’ve noticed some major lagging on the app and I truly think they aren’t able to handle their growth. In the last few weeks I’ve had issues with cards automatically being ran twice and not including gratuity and also cards being ran and not including the gratuity at all. This is quite frustrating and if you aren’t paying attention could miss out on your own pay. (Or have clients complaining about multiple charges) They’ve also made some notification updates that are just plain frustrating. If someone “reschedules” an appointment they don’t notify you (or show in the app) what appointment they rescheduled. I can say with certainty that all service providers like to know what appointments clients are cancelling. Customer service has been a bit slow lately too. My guess is they have too many people contacting them so it’s taking longer to respond. I really like the platform (and so do clients) so I beg you GG, PLEASE IMPROVE BEFORE YOU LOSE A LOT OF LOYAL SERVICE PROVIDERS.

LOVE IT -one one kink
I have been a member of glossgenius for a year and a half now and I love the layout and fact that you can post a picture as a service. they also tranferred my clients and apointment easily and the website url is very easy to write on a business card or through a voicemail. Love that clients review without awkwardly asking them to! the virtual assistant is A+++++!! , there's needs to be a split payment option for clients who pay half cash/half card and also a waiting list option. booking controls are great as well as being able to have more control. The “block feature I feel is a bust , because you end up getting a text from your client still trying to book it should say not available instead of “something went wrong”- not sure. my ONLY wish is DOLLAR amount discounts instead of percentage such as $10 off- this way clients can see it in their receipt that “hey i received a discount!” and it’s not an awkward number with change

A lot of glitches
At first I was impressed with this app. I love the aesthetics. Clear cancellation policy conveyed to clients and whatever protocol you demand on how you need your clients to book with you. Unfortunately, the longer I have this app the more glitches I experience, they are major glitches which can severely affect my business which is critical because this is how I require clients to book with me. Lately if you need to call customer service it can be well over an hour wait time and texting as they recommend is no faster. I’m finding that there must be critical crashes hence why the wait times have gotten to this and seem to be happening more frequently. There are a few more quirks with this site honestly, with a money I pay for the gold membership it has got to work and be tiptop shape. It definitely has my business by the balls, I’ve been in the industry for 20 years and there’s not one online platform that is completely fool proof. I don’t know why they can’t all get together and get one that works seamlessly because this is the way small businesses are going is all online platform.

Superior Service
I was unsure about switching from Square after years of operating with them, but now after only two weeks it’s evident Gloss’ service is superior to Square and Schedulicity. I’m a Boss; I’m a champion with Gloss! White glove transfer service was beyond impressive. Flawless. My clients love my new booking site. They say it’s beautiful and easy to use. My bookings have already increased with text, email and social media marketing. I actually feel like I have a personal assistant with GlossGenius! It even messages me at the end of a work day to ask if there’s any notes to save on each individual client for that day… so I don’t forget! Then it reminds me of those notes just prior to their next appointment. It’s helpful to remember specifics on my clients; it makes their experience more personal. I am so very glad I made the switch to Gloss!

LOVE IT, buttttt…
I love GLOSSGENIUS! After using square for years, I switched over to GLOSSGENIUS because it really does offer the lowest transaction rates and I am able to create my own website which is beautiful 😍 however, there are a couple things that need improvement. 1. I need to be able to collect deposits aka send invoices to clients. 2. When someone’s card on file is expired there’s literally no way to change it unless you contact customer service. I can’t change it and neither can my client. 3. Discounts by $$$ amount and not by %. To be able to give a client a discount I have to change my price on the service rather than just adding a $10 discount. It won’t give me that option. 4. I really dislike having to perform separate transactions when a client wants to pay part cash part card. Besides those couple of things, gloss is great. It’s affordable, it’s easy to use, looks amazing and I love the reminder text messages and the email marketing options.

Difficult to maneuver, and it kicks you out all the time
I very seldom leave a review for anything because it takes a lot for me to be irritated with something. But with this app, it’s a little more hard to maneuver in the structure that it’s setting up. I’m used to doing it by day. I have to do it by month on here and then whenever it comes to putting the time in, I have to remember to put the time in where I was used to be putting it in on the hour of that day. My biggest issue with this app is it has kicked me out three different times since I’ve gotten it a few months ago. And then when I go to login in, it will not let me login by my password. I have had to change my password three different times to be able to get into this app to see who I had come in that day. I’ve had free apps to schedule stuff and never had an issue out of them. If I’m gonna pay for an app, I shouldn’t have any issues by far. at this point, the only thing I’m paying for is it to send out a reminder to people and I can do that on my own. It’s not worth $24.

Really great app
I was a user of StyleSeat for about two years when I decided I was sick of the way they handle their business and of paying such a high user fee for something I didn’t feel worked the way it should. I’ve tried a couple other appointment apps and saw this one. I really love this app. My favorite thing about it, if I could pick just one, is the expense adding function. I’m a serious slacker when it comes to keeping track of my expenses and filing receipts. But with this app, there’s a function for that. You just press the button and add your expense and it keeps it for you. If you need to file a receipt, you take a picture and it’s stored. It makes it SO much easier to be on top of that part of my business. The only thing I wish it had, that I got used to with StyleSeat, is the jumping ahead a certain number of weeks when scheduling/rescheduling a client. And being able to see exactly how many weeks in the future or past you are. Other than that, I LOOOVE this app!

New update!!
A year later from this update and there still haven’t been a major update!! When are you guys going to give us something new. I’m considering leaving the platform and going to genbook besides the app being pretty it’s not worth $40 a month 😒 I’ve been using the app for over a year now. You update the app without updating the app with any new functions. We send in our ideas but still no update. If I received a booking Im only aware by receiving email/text alert. I should be able to look at recent activity in the app. There’s no way of keeping track of cancellations, still unable to give a $ amount discount, no card reader, sometimes we have messages for clients we need a pop-up message box for when the client enter the site. We should also have an option to take deposits. I was with accuity I left because GlossGenius was more appealing and had a more professional setup but it’s lacking a lot of options needed for bookings.

Great app, could use a few more features.
I have really enjoyed all of the features. What would make gloss genius the top of the line is to add a couple of more features. If we could automatically have a link sent for a review to go straight to Google when we send clients their receipt, that would be awesome. Also, I would like to be able to send mass texts to our clients with a pictures/attachments of our monthly specials. Currently, you can send a mass text but not attach anything to it. Additionally, it would be nice to be able to have a little chat pop up on my business website that sends the message to our gloss genius app so one of us can answer potential clients. Also, the response not show our personal phone number. When I reply to clients on gloss genius, it shows them my actual phone number.

Horrible
Usually I don’t write reviews but with this app I had to. I was fine with it until a client made a card payment. This was my first time accepting a card payment and I wish I didn’t. I was misinformed and told by a representative that my deposit will be in my account, it wasn’t so I reached out to them. Now they are saying I need to send them a copy of my drivers license and a copy of my business license. I didn’t feel comfortable sending that information so my only option was to refund the transaction and have my client pay another way. My client has still not received her refund and now all of a sudden I am having issues getting in contact with customer service. Like other previous reviews this app is useless. Once I get this figured out I will definitely be using a different booking app.

Great features. Poor customer service and transparency
I enjoy using GlossGenius. But the amount of times it takes me to reach out and actually get in touch with customer service when there is an issue is unacceptable. And when there is a SYSTEM wide outage there is zero transparency from GlossGenius with their customers. When a situation like this occurs they should be updating their socials and/or sending emails to customers so they can be made aware of the situation and GlossGenius should make options available and keep us in the loop so we know how to manage our work days and update clients. We can’t run a business blind. Thankfully I keep my appointments for the salon in my personal calendar as well, but having my website down, no ability for clients to book, no way to check my salon calendar or check people out with ZERO updates from the company -GlossGenius is just poor business management and customer service.

Customer service is absolutely terrible
UPDATE: the customer service team and taken care of my issue! I love this app as a whole and I hope the customer service continues to be the way it was once someone had gotten back to me. Can’t get a response from them to save my life! Emailing, calling, texting…no response. I have not received ANY of the money I’ve processed with their system for the last week. I reached out and they responded promptly at first. And had even answered the phone to me. Now it goes straight to their voicemail and asks me to leave a message which I do and no one ever calls back. So then I send an email and a text message and get one or two responses but nothing that actually helps with my situation. I have no access to it and they won’t respond to me to get it resolved.

Love it
I truly have loved Gloss. I have tried every major booking software on the market. I always went back to Square because it was easy. Gloss is easier. And it has a way nicer interface. I love that I can see me appointment requests on the main page. I beta-tested the multi-user option for a while and LOVED that. Here’s my issues: I cant do anything on a computer except book clients. I truly hate that. I nearly cancelled for that sole reason. I don’t like that I’m tied to my phone when booking. I already run my business from my phone and while this might sound convenient, it really just keeps me staring at my screen. I also would like people to be able to choose a service OR a provider and not just the provider at the first option. I don’t like that the booking increments go in 15-min increments. I’d like to be able to book 20 min increments as well.

I just downloaded this app yesterday on 12/7. I can say so far I’m VERY impressed with the look and the ease of using it. After reading son of the reviews , I agree there NEEDS to be a better option if discounts. I prefer to use Dollar total discounts vs. percents. I would also like the discount be applied to specific items. I don’t want to give 20% off the whole total, only certain items especially if they are booking more than one service. A split payment option would be nice as well. And being able to take deposits. I like the cc hold feature but I sometimes use deposits to purchase items needed for the appointment. But so far so good. I’m still learning but my look of wayyyyy more professional now.

Great booking system
This is a great app to use for your business as an independent hairstylist. Easy to manage for your clients and yourself. I only wish they would make a few changes. 1 at checkout it only scans cards with raised numbers, most new cards have flat account numbers. 2. At checkout there is no way to take more than one form of payment. Some customers like to pay with a little cash and put the rest on a card. 3 There is no way of adding a dollar amount discount. I have to adjust the actual price. Which when it comes to writing it off in your taxes, there is no record. 4 when I run the report for sales tax it gives you a line item of just the tax amount. No total $ sales amount, and no grand total. You have to add up all the amounts and total it yourself. To file and pay sales tax you need the amount sold, the tax amount and the totals on each.

NEEDS SUBSELECTION OPTIONS!!
I love every single thing about this app. So far, there are three MAJOR changes that should be implemented to reach a whole new section of stylists. 1) SUB SELECTIONS/ SERVICE ADD ONS- The type of hair I do requires more than just choosing a service. Once the service is selected, I need to know which hair color the client needs, which type of parts they would like, etc... I switched from messaging to book to Glossgenius because it was too inconvenient to ask all those questions to each and every client. Please allow add ons to services!! 2) I WANT TO CUSTOMIZE MY TEXTS- not just emails! The services I provide have certain instructions and I need to be able to AUTO prompt clients instead of messaging them. Again, the point is to be hands off! 3) ALLOW CUSTOM CALENDAR AVAILABILITY- I have been booking month by month and would love to continue. I don’t want the calendar completely open & I also don’t want to only set it to booking a month ahead. I want to open (for example) my June bookings on May 27th. Once June is filled I want to close booking til June 27th for July openings. One month from current date Jane working for me Everything else is wonderful. Client never receive the confirmation by text!!
I have been use GlossGenius for fews years , some how I have been having trouble with sent ours the confirmation or reminder text message…. This is hurtful to my business because my busy life and my clients always depend on the app to sent out the reminder. But it is not , I got no show lately a lot and all of my no show said that they don’t have any reminder text message…wow ! Just last week I sent out to all my clients know that I’m changing the new name of my booking link , I were upgraded to pay more the text message , a lot of my clients have not received any text about my new name booking link. This is very upsetting me . This is not the first time either . Last year the customer care told me , I have to tell every single my client to call their phone company to except GlossGenius text messages!!! This is crazy. Now I have to looking for new app !

No brainer
I’ve tried almost every scheduling app out there, gloss is the only one that continues to update with added features; I upgraded to gold mostly for the google review feature but I’m unsure whether I will continue with this plan. I’m a solo nail tech so the team features are not useful to me, though I can see why they would be. I do wish the waitlist feature was a bit more intuitive. For example, either automatically reach out to the client & let them know there is a spot & automatically book based on their response, OR on the calendar when I’m looking at my day, if I have gaps show me clients that are on the waitlist & I can reach out to them myself. Going back & forth from the calendar to the waitlist is kinda annoying.

HORRIBLE COMPANY
I HAVE USED THEM FOR 3 YEARS.. they only care about money.. they do not care about the people who pay them for service. only add features that make them money and they refuse to add feature that cost them nothing that would greatly help those who use their system.. they are owned by sola salons which is a huge franchise that over charges stylist for a small box to work in.. I dont why i would think they would care about people on an app. i have asked them for two new features for 3 years an nothing.. i have had others ask for the same features and nothing. they dont care and they wont listen. all they will tell you is they will forward it to the right person which is the trash can. you pay for what you get 20 bucks a month gets you 20 dollar junk with horrbile customer service.. dont base your whoel business around online book with 20 a month system where htey dont care about yout..

Just a couple things -
Love this system! They transferred my clients for me, it’s all one flat rate monthly, and it’s user friendly and attractive. I wish there were more options for payment methods, such as gift cards that exist outside of gloss genius, or a way to log the use of a different processing system. I also wish there was more availability to edit within email marketing. Adding photos, and a button with a link to schedule would be great. Also - the option of adding a “series” to your service menu. Such as, if a client purchases 3 sessions at once, that the remaining sessions would be logged and shown as available / not available. Otherwise, perfect.

Top notch!
I really love this software! It’s so pretty and user friendly and has almost everything I need! I agree with another review, there should be a dollar amount discount option instead of the percentage. Also, since I do home visits, not having my clients’ addresses readily available and in their client contacts is tedious and time consuming. I have to leave the app to go hunting for it and add it in a particular way. That can get annoying when you are on a time constraint. Last thing, the rescheduling method. Maybe I need some practice with that part, but it would be great to see the calendar instead of a scroll. Other than those bits… THANK YOU SO MUCH! 👏🏼💃🏻🤗

It’s pretty perfect
I’m a waxer at my own studio and it’s made my life so much easier! It handles and keeps track of everything for me so I’m not constantly being contacted by clients, it makes them sweetly self sufficient. Every client loves how easy it is and clear it is. If I could change anything it would be the option to have a different background color other than black. Some different options for icons/graphics in the booking menu as you thumbnail through different services. A highlight in your calendar schedule for newbies so you don’t have to go through each profile and look at the history to see if you’ve had them as a client.

Absolutely Awesome
This app works very smoothly, is user friendly and keeps on getting better with more bells and whistles every update. Honestly for a first time user, it is very simple to start and then as you go along and grow it is not hard to learn all the features. If I want to learn how to use a new function, I personally just go to the help articles and search it and sure enough, I have had no problems understanding how to use it. Great app and I look forward to updates. I think the price for it is pretty reasonable even with the card processing fees for all that you are able to utilize to help grow your business. 💕

Great app but ….
Let me start by saying I do LOVE this app. That said: Please please give us a monthly drop down menu. I absolutely hate having to swipe thru all the months. I have people who book a year out and swiping thru every single month one at a time is frustrating. If I go too fast it doesn’t load and freezes. And using the repeat booking button isn’t an option because not everyone repeats all year. I have people who live elsewhere certain times of the year. Also, on my checkout page the checkout button jumps. I go to click on it and it moves down causing me to hit the ‘cancel appointment’ button. Thank you for a great app but a little tweaking would be cool :)

Used to love this booking app
Being a licensed nail tech and a beginner as well everything is new to you. When I first of this app, it was perfect my clients being able to book their own appointments me being able to keep track of my clients the services they received canceling appointments rescheduling appointments. Everything was perfect until I started getting locked out and having to delete the app and re-download the app just to be able to log back in is absolutely ridiculous to me. I have no access, any information for my clients or my upcoming appointments when I’m locked out and I’m not saying locked out like my password is incorrect I’m saying locked out like the app will not let me login at all. It just seems to Glitch and shut down without warning. currently looking into a new booking service because this is too much of an inconvenience.

Best and easiest!
I’ve booked Thru and uses quiet a few booking sites and always wanted to Stay away from them for using for my business cuz it just seem to complicated but this is literally the easiest and self explanatory app you can use as a business owner hands down. The only one two things I would complain about just for being a brat lol is I wish I could edit confirmation message to my liking and also see my Monday income break down instead of 3-4months at a time. Beyond that . I’m in love and have made my business grow and flow soooo much easier . I honestly use the app calendar for almost all my life needs for important events

I have used the others. This is the best!
I used another booking platform for years! Overtime I noticed that yeh former booking system began to start implementing changes without notifying us as the provider! Like charging my clients to book on top of already charging me a monthly fee. I understand operation costs but it is quite embarrassing to be told by your client that there has been a change and you as the actual provider had no idea! GlossGenius is none of that! They are beyond supportive. The virtual assistant is amazing! They migrated all of my clients and notes seamlessly. Unfortunately they could only take photo captures of my hundreds of reviews so I have to kind of start over with that but it’s okay as I do not accept many new clients anyway. Also, the only other negative is that they do not have a dollar amount discount. You have to play with the percentages and it is not convenient. I think this is an easy fix they can implement. Overall, this is my favorite booking system and I have tried almost all of them! Trust me, give them a try you will not regret it.

There are better schedule and payment apps for free
I did the trial and an additional month . I first the app is annoying with. So many messages text and constant changes . The payments system is sketchy to clients . taking an image of their credit card freaks people out . Can’t scan chip cards higher rate fee . then have to scan their drivers license . The calendar doesn’t sync to your calendar so you have to manage it in the app and that’s made more complicated than it needs to be . After spending so much time adding clients and directing clients to use the app . I should be charging the app for all the time and work . The processing fee and an app fee really ! Square has free online store and online booking . In conclusion gloss is just that a shiny over done and not worth the money. Just another way to take money from hard working people for doing nothing you can’t already do with pencil and paper for free.

I absolutely cannot run my business without gloss genius!!! I have been using it for a year now, and it’s so easy and straightforward. I’m not super tech savvy but this is laid out in a way that it unbelievably simple! The customer support is absolutely amazing! Adorable card reader that are compatible with touch to pay options! They have been making some amazing updates too that makes me love that app so much more, like booking deposits, easy discount options, easy to find analytics. Upload all you expense on the app, and tax information. My CPA complimented my tax documents due to how organized it was! Do yourself a favor and get it!

Good but need some new features…
First off, I love this app. I’ve had a few before but this one just looks so nice and appealing. There are a few things I wish it had to make it perfect. First, a way to take deposits from clients. Second, the calendar should be color coded for the whole month. Like mark all the days I have off, the days I’m booked, and the days I have open availability. It also needs a section for add ons to each of the services. I would also like to be able to customize my own emails being sent out. The template is nice, but I want it to say other important information. And lastly, it would be great for clients to be able to use coupons or discount codes.

Good but...
Frustrated that you can’t still change how the client gets ahold of you. For instance, it only lets you put in your phone number versus multiple other forms of contact like your professional email, fb or Instagram message, etc. I personally have sent in this request multiple times because I want to have a healthy boundary and reserve even my work cell for special occasions. The card reader doesn’t also sync, and even if I save cards on file, I have to do it again if they want to purchase products separately. It should be saved the first time. While they have great features, there’s still very important fixes still to be made. I’m only staying because I have so many cards on file, so I feel locked in.

Honestly as a Braider on the come up Gloss Genius Has made life so much better x more professional when it comes to my clients and mine experience! And the customer service is absolutely beautiful. I love that I can just text an ACTUAL human and just wait for them to respond instead of waiting alllll day on the phone dealing with robots . Then, once you text the issue, they do what they can do to help on their end before responding so that everything’s a breeze instead of going back and forth about irrelevant information. . . Howeverrrr, it would be absolutely amazing if you guys could create an “add on” tap next to or under each service so that clients can click whatever extras they want. For ex: a client may want braids so they book that tab but with that service they can select with they want a shampoo, extra length, designs, color, or even add in a comment or note section. That way the more they add the more time can be reserved for their appointment needs. Thanks ;] A happy customer

Almost Perfect
I love how much you can do with this app, but a few changes I’d love to see incorporated is the ability to split payments, and the option to switch the default calendar view from month to week or day if we like. I prefer to see a weekly view of my schedule as default. And I know it’s a stretch but a little extra in the inventory department, such as the ability to track back bar products as well. Other than a few things I think could be added to make this app everything I could dream of, this is hands down the best app I could have for managing my business.

Love it
I’ve been a member for a few months now and I love it. I love how it looks and it’s detail. It gives me all the info I need for my business to run smoothly with the reports and everything. My only wish is that we could take deposits or at least send invoices within the app and also the ability to set dollar amount discounts instead of a percentage. I would also love to be able to have forms and waivers within the app because although I’ve edited the message in the confirmation text/email to prompt them to complete their requires forms, they still don’t do it. It would so much easier if we could require them to complete the forms upon booking. Other than that, it’s great!

Glitchy update
I’m currently in a trial period. During this time I’ve been setting up my page and trying to get my coworkers excited about the change. We’re excited to switch our platform BUT the page keeps freezing or just completely closes out of the app while I’m in the middle of doing something. I tried the app as personal first instead of business and this wasn’t an issue but since the last update this has been happening. Please look into this issue because we want to be ready to roll by April 1st. We love the aesthetic of the app so we really want to be able to use it seamlessly for our business. 5 star update when this issue is corrected.

Seriously lacking basic things
I hate that there isn’t an invoice feature! I want to use one app for everything. I don’t want to have to utilize Google or any other softwares to generate invoices. I absolutely HATE that we cannot create discount codes. It’s such an inconvenience when trying to offer certain clients a sale. Gloss is aesthetically pleasing, which reels people in but seriously lacks key features and it’s not advanced enough to serve as a full turnkey software. Even the forms have limitations! I also HATE the fact that clients can’t complete forms prior to booking! Some of my services are contraindicated for certain health conditions and the health history forms cover that prior to booking. I would hate for clients to pay a deposit, then fill out a form, only to not qualify for the service. So disappointed. I had really high hopes.
