This app is great when your first starting out or want to add a few more onto your schedule. The ability to bid is a great way to keep everyone honest. The downsides that I have found after a year using this app are as follows. The customer has the say overall on schedule. You can always ask them to change the day but it’s there choice. You can move one day without needing permission but it effects your reliability score. Also effecting your reliability score is weather. If it rains and you have to reschedule it effects your reliability. I have never missed an appointment and my score is 91%. I strive for ultimate satisfaction and my score implies otherwise. Great overall though.
I have worked wit GreenPal for a year now and can’t say enough positive things. The bad reviews left about this company are from people that didn’t take the time to understand what they were getting involved with. First off the company is a lead provider that allows you to bid jobs for your service rate. You are in control and run it like it’s your business. GreenPal is considered a platform because they are only in the business to provide you the lead and handle the payment process which is controlled by a third party. There is no reason for support because everything is user friendly and it is your business. This app is not fully functional yet as it was released early for testing purposes and future development. There is a website that is fully functional and support is available through a private Facebook group. This company is still new to the scene and steady growing. Learn to use it before you bash it.
If you get a client where their card does not go thru - don’t make the mistake of resubmitting the job -The account should not have been able to proceed with a card that is invalid the customer said she had fixed it so I resubmitted the picture the next day Greenpal dropped me however I was a top 8 ranked vendor in Nashville-if they would’ve simply made a phone call to ask what was going on I could’ve explained and we would’ve had a correctable moment but no they had to drop me which is completely unfair and it also cost them because now 80 clients went independent with me and did not resume with Greenpal -Plus that lady that did not pay and couldn’t get her card going paid through Venmo-So because of Greenpal’s nonsense about procedure instead of looking into the situation they lost 80 clients that were very satisfied with my job-I don’t think Greenpal is bad for most vendors I even mowed one of the co creators yard in Brentwood a year ago -However do not depend on a majority of your work to go through Greenpal because they don’t treat you as a business partner I can see Greenpal unfortunately regressing in the future in short time
The ability to find new customers if searching for an area outside your areas of norm: if you are already up and running: causing a great lead generator for new potential customers, without all the hassle of market hustling. Downfalls are potentials of newer customers seeing a less than perfect percentage rating after I bid. Due to customer changing their schedule without notice (possibly cancellation due to their own scheduling), inclement weather conditions and needing to change customers service date with their obvious approval of course or simply a schedule change, WITH APPROVAL, due to owner scheduling differences. I have never missed a scheduled date yet sit at 91%. I see this over and over on the app reviews, with thank you for the comment, yet nothing has changed. The other is the very poor bid rating in suggested areas of service! Not near the price yards are running for: due to inflation and more established lawn companies charging service charges now, plus the actual lawn services themselves: this is poorly inaccurate making bidding comparable and truly suggestive.
For four days now I have been attempting to receive money from a job I completed. Greenpal notified me the card that the customer put on file was not going through and their solution to fix the problem was advising me to pester the client with text messages until he responded. Three days ago, I emailed greenpal asking if there was any backup plan on their end for me to get paid, as they claim all credit cards are vetted when customers sign up. No communication from them. I am out $50 and sorely disappointed in the customer service, or lack thereof, on greenpals end. To suggest that I need to bother someone until they pay me, when it was a greenpal lead, is absurd. I can certainly live without $50 but it's the principle of it at this point. If you value your time and money, don't waste it on greenpal. I'll be deleting my account as soon as I get all of the good clients moved over to my CRM.
I have been using this app to start my business for the last few weeks. There is rarely any jobs close to where my company operates (mostly 1-2hours away) and I have no problem coming out, my issue is I’m one of the first to bid on homes and properties that are days or so away and once the day comes nothing happens. Even the day after they want service done it STILL says “Good news no one was hired for this job try submitting a lower price” or something along those lines. So I experimented on a home close, I offered a price slightly below the average pricing amount in the area to see if they would accept the offer. NOTHING happened. This has been happening for weeks. I bid decently low to combat the other bidder. I don’t know where they go, if they try the app and just forget it or what. I’m no longer going to use these guys but another kinda service
You have no control over your schedule. You’ll bid on jobs based on the day they want service, then they will accept you weeks later, not on the original date, and you’re expected to drop what you have to go do a yard that wasn’t on the day you bid. You arent able to change more than one day before or after on a one time visit that wasn’t in the day you bid on and if you can’t get there they lock your account. Half of the yards that come from this app are awful and a lot of customers that come from the app cancel every other service taking up a spot on your schedule, a lot end up not paying, and they expect you to hunt them down for your money. Greenpal cares about the customer but not the service provider. They pretend to be the Uber of lawn care but Uber takes care of the service provider also, not just the customer.
So I’m waiting for a new version of the app. Cuz it could be themed and laid out better. Today an update hits and I’m excited as I’m updating the app. They say in the new details that it’s a new version and they’ve been working really hard on it. I go to look at the new app and it’s the same exact look and app as before. Not sure what ya mean by new version but this isn’t new.
As a new user and someone who is also in marketing, i can already see huge holes for vendors of this platform. -There is NO custom bid rate or hourly bid rate on this platform! This is a MASSIVE HOLE. -there is only a bid rate scale provided based on what the app thinks the job is worth. Not what YOU would charge for your work (winning bid or not). -you can’t see your account without first being forced to bid on new jobs. -you can’t control your service area. It only provides an exact circular radius starting at 15 miles! I’m being forced to bid on jobs on a complete other side of the city. Custom control of your area is a highly needed feature. -there doesn’t seem to be a provision in place for customers who aren’t truthful about their job. Telling a vendor that your last cut was two weeks ago is a far cry from knee high grass. -there is no way to temporarily shut down notifications during non business hours or when you are out of town or working on other business. -Approved jobs and transactions take entirely to long to process. These are just a few of the items i can think of off the top of my head. This app is a good idea, but needs ALOT of work to truly be advantageous to vendors who want to make a profit.
Guys this app is not worth it the customers do not have to pay you I repeat the customers do not have to pay you. I had a run in with a customer who refused to pay by disputing for no reason. Greenpal support is non existent when I tried to call and send them an email. I highly suggest lawn love or lawn starter if you wanna grow your business. PHENOMENAL customer service! Not to mention on green pal your chance at bids are a needle in a haystack unless you bid 20 dollars good luck with green pal. I had my first and last customer from them terrible customer services and untrustworthy clients! I’m absolutely livid due to the non existent help with a sheisty client who prayed on a free mow! I told the customer to keep there money and have a good day I will not drive back to there property for absolutely no reason
I like the app for quick easy bids. However, what I don’t like about it is if your customers want to move an appointment, or you have to move an appointment for any legitimate reason it affects your reliability rating. I’ve never missed an appointment and I am at 88%. Your reliability rating should only take a hit if you miss an appointment. Kind of a big deal. Another thing I don’t like is that customers can move appointments at will without you having to ok it. They may move it to a day where you are hammered busy and struggle to get to them. Scheduling and routing is a big part of this business and that can be a huge inconvenience. Not sure if I’ll use it again next year.
I feel like at least half listenings are real home with fake profiles to keep you bidding and engaging with the app. This also drives down your prices because of all the rejections. I have bid on over 75 listings now I’ve gotten one person that took me up on my offer and I’ve even put in some pretty stupidly low bids just to see if it is reality and still been rejected. P.S. No I will not lower my bid by five dollars just so I can rebid and you can get a cheaper price on your yard That’s the shady part about this app. Why is a customer would I ever accept the first round of bids when I know I can get all of them for five dollars cheaper.
If are a provider do not use this app, when their system is not working which is a regular occurrence they will not allow any payment outside of their system and they will shut off your account, even if it is assisting customer because their payment in the system is not working, - the note you get from GreenPal is to contact the customer about their payment but when you do they could terminate your account. Awful customer service , clearly only there to collect money no matter the situation, their service fees are rather high as well. The will send total bogus letters to your customers stating you went out of business, awful ethics.
I joined this app 3 years ago have used it for multiple properties. I took a break for the last year. Now I’m back to it and while I’m scrolling through the app bidding on properties. It kicks me off and says they aren’t accepting new vendors in your area. I can’t sign back in or anything, so I emailed their support which just tells you to join their Facebook group. Which I did, then posted in the group asking if someone knew about this and could help me look into it. They banned me from the group?? Like what? Terrible customer service, you would have better luck talking to a brick wall.
I used the app for a while but never really took too much interest. They are from overseas in Europe. If the client’s credit card declines....YOU ARE NOT PAID and GreenPal makes YOU seek out the client to retrieve payment!!!! Really? I receive leads from multiple other apps and NEVER had a single one punish the contractor for a declined credit card. Plus GreenPal will NOT let you forget about it as they will constantly send you emails reminding you to contact the client and tell them to contact GreenPal to update their card (GreenPal wants their cut). I strongly advise not to use this. There is NO support for the vendor. They are overseas for God’s sake.
This app has so many problems and issues. I will write a full review in a few days. And the person from Lawn Patrol that wrote a review is an idiot. If someone is running a business, they would obviously want the app to be fully functional and working properly. This app has not worked properly causing a bad rating and lost Business for my company. It has so many glitches and things that have not been addressed thoroughly or at all. And there is no support pertaining to the glitches of the App itself.
The app works great when starting out but there are some flaws that could interfere with business. When you try to send a text to tell the client you are on the way from the app, it crashes. Also when trying to send an email to a new client to contact, it crashes. Just needs updating.
Blocked and removed without any notice nor payment from backdated jobs waiting on funds. I was removed for speaking about my experiences with getting texts and emails after 8pm regarding properties that had “no bids” yet. Upon clicking they had multiple bids and I asked on their Facebook page to have my posts removed. Upon asking where in the handbook after I read the handbook it’s removed again. So once I posted about the censorship I am blocked and not paid. Great publicity. I texted every customer I have and they’ve all signed up through me for the rest of the season.
The app has everything going it’s way, but it’s not worth my time to use it and I will give you the reason why. The reason why I will not use it is because the bid is WAY TOO LOW! I am not going to spend an hour on a yard with help included that only pays $39. If there is something I am doing wrong then I will be more than happy to change my reviews on it. I run a business so it has to be profitable for me to go out there.
Do not use GreenPal Pro as a vendor,, they are awful, the bidding set up is so cumbersome and really annoying, the payment system is slow and they fees are too much, they never collect the right info for a job, and once you establish a good customer bad they can cancel your account without notice , I assisted a customer that had their card continually declined , cancelled ad figured out how to reset their service and Greenpal cancelled my account, luckily I keep all of my customer’s info outside the system so I had them cancel the service and move on . They are the worst
The only thing that I dislike about green pal is that I don’t think the rating is accurate and almost like you can be on time for 30 visits and you cancel one due to rain or a customer cancels your rating seems to go down!
I had created my account and when I was setting up stripe (and entered all sensitive information) for no reason they said I was blocked. I couldn’t understand why so I tried contacting the Facebook group it says to do, and when I asked on the forum they deleted me from the group. What large company has a Facebook group to ask questions? Weird. I tried emailing and calling but have had no response. I am going to call to freeze all my Acount’s because I don’t know what they are going to do with my information
I don’t normally do reviews, but this is needed. Don’t wast your time on this app. I’ve been locked out due to a customer having the lawn addressed and not canceling the appointment. There’s literally no way around it, they want you to go “ service” the house that was done already! I’ve dealt with this customer before and know they don’t pay. So I have to take the ?!?! I don’t think... I’ve reached out to both the customer and company to address this. As a business owner you have no say. Good luck if you use this platform!
If you contact Greenpal support for help they send you to a Facebook page to find answers to your unresolved issues. You write a post in the group and wait for responses from other Greenpal users while your account is being locked out and potentially deleted and risking hurting your business in the process. GreenPal can even withhold your pending funds. I’ve never used a app service with such poor customer support. I would not recommend this service to anyone.
Vendors beware. There’s no customer service except a silly Facebook group, where the admins are divisive and dismissive. The app never works properly and if you point it out you get banned from their Facebook group, which is literally the only form of “customer service” (a laughable term for these guys). In other words, you’re on your own and you can expect to get paid way less than what you would on the open market. Stay away.
Green pal is an amazing app. It allows you to fill your schedule quickly at prices. You are comfortable with if you’re looking for a quick way to help build your schedule and create some route density. This is the app for you.
Customers have the ability to leave reviews for vendors who haven’t seen the property or have requested the customer find another vendor to do the job without charging them. Customers also have the ability to not pay for a job that has been finished. This poor treatment of vendors makes it difficult to care about the customers which leads to poor and sloppy work.
After a few months of trying this app, it gets quite annoying how I cannot choose my service area. I have to manually decline nearly every single bid because they're 30-45 minutes away. And every few days they pop back up on my feed with. Wish there were better interfaces or ways for me to control what properties I see.
Good quality! Bad set up. I should be able to use green pal as a help in with my other yards not just the ones I get from them. I’ve got to use 2 different resources in my business.
So looking over this app at first sounded great and even when I download it right away I start receiving jobs to bid on. But as I’m looking at these jobs they’re dated for a week or two previously then when I download it so which means if people are looking to get their lawns done through this app they signed up and never got anybody to do it through the app so thereforeThey most likely stop using it so therefore this app is completely useless and biggest waste of time I ever had
I’m a vendor and even though I limited my area to 15 miles all I get are customers like 39 miles away in areas not worth traveling to, a huge disappointment! Waste of time! Should be -5 stars, they control your route and billing. Screw this if I wanted to operate like this I’d go work for TruGreen! Another thing we are in eastern NC and they kept penalizing me for not servicing customers during a freaking hurricane stay the heck away from these folks!
I am constantly being threatened with being cancelled if my rating doesn’t go up and if I don’t mow on the day requested. If the customer doesn’t get my request to change days because of rain, I’m threatened with having my account closed. I like the app otherwise. Just need to trust your lawn guys to do the right thing.
So I had a customer scheduled for a Thursday and needed to move it to the following Monday. The app thought we meant the previous Monday so I got locked out of my account. There is no customer support to help you with it. Also I’ve read that if you can’t service lawns because of rain you’ll also get locked out of your account. Do not use this app, use something else.
First, if you’re a legitimate business this app is a waste of time. Second I just got a few “new lawns” in my area and there’s about 2ft of snow on the ground. Last, I asked in the private FB group ran by Greenpal how I deactivate my account and what do they do? DELETED me from the group. Then I emailed the info email and they never got back to me. Again not worth putting all your personal information and business info into this.
I was a vendor for them had a 5 star rating and they kick me off??? I’m not sure why, idk if I did something wrong? No one answers the phone, and they won’t let me in Facebook group. They called all my customer and tried to take them back but they all said no, because I do great work! I hope this company goes out of business, oh and the company greenpal is not listed with the BBB.
I work with GreenPal little over three months and today I get a email from one of my customers said that they can shut my account down and I really don’t care because I’ve built a relationship with my customers and all of them called me and said they’d rather go through me instead of GreenPal so thanks GreenPal for giving me my customers
App seems okay so far but I haven’t really been able to use it. It says I need to set up and connect my stripe account which I already have, & verified it but it’s still not letting me bid and it’s prompting me to set stripe up. Hope it gets resolved quickly.
I won’t take any customers in unless they sign up through here I’m tired of begging and reminding clients for pay. This has absolutely helped my business grow ten fold.
This app would be great if the competition didn’t low ball every job. I bid on over 100 house and got one. My prices are set and I have a minimum yet I seem to not get job for what I am assuming is cheap competition. Oh well I’ll keep grinding on my own with marketing.
This app is useless. Don’t waste your time with it. The app tells people what they should pay, so if you don’t bid under that amount, you won’t get it. Phone was constantly going off for bids, but they were 20 dollar yard 25 miles away. My mower doesn’t come off the trailer for less than 35. And once you download the app, you can not delete your account.
I like greenpal for the most part but I do not like the fact that you have to bid. some people will mow for a sandwich. makes it hard to earn decent money.
Great app it helps connect both service providers and clients. All do a little harsh when it’s rainy days the ability of reschedule should be more easygoing.
GreenPal will not help you with unpaying customers. You ask for help on the FB page and the admins just delete your post. Severe flaws in the system that need to be fixed. I’ve lost $600 this year from unpaying customers when I never have that issue with my own scheduled clients outside the app.
I like the app, but I feel you guys are taking more then what was agreed upon. My wife says your guys are supposed to be taking 1.50% or something like of the bid. So I would like to know how much % you guys are taking.
I tried to sign up to be a lawn care worker. It then quotes me and asks when I’d like to book my property for mowing. But not after it tells me that my address number is not a number, and my email address is not a valid email address. Good thing I have seven email addresses to deal with these apps.
The worlds worst app! You cannot complete half your jobs due to “maintenance” or it just says sorry try again later!! There is absolutely no one you can get a hold of to talk about the problem you are having with your app!! You only get half your money you make with the app!!!
Greenpal is great and very effective helping me with my early beginnings with my business. Would highly recommend to anyone who is in the Landscaping business.
The app could be easier to communicate with after you and the client have talked and reschedule dates yet may not know it and keeps sending you warnings and push notifications that are not needed.
The “system I do not really like because if somebody is wanting yardwork that’s extremely strenuous and you won’t let them quote but anything the typical mowing great needs to be fixed.
