A new version of the Helium Mobile app just came out and it's a slight downgrade from the previous version in that you used to be able to pay your bill monthly using Helium's MOBILE token, or whatever it's called, and now your only option for using any kind of crypto to pay for your plan is to pay for a year in advance. Their marketing words this to make it sound like a great thing, but it's not. Other than that, and the fact that the Badges screen still isn't working, I think the app is pretty great. And while this is not the place to talk about the company or its services, I will say anyway that the phone plan is pretty great too , and gives me better coverage in remote areas than my Verizon plan ever did.
I live in Miami,FL which is the city they decided to run their initial test on and I was able to get their $5/month plan a few months ago. At first I will admit that the service was a little spotty and my reception would go out at random times, but for $5 a month vs the $130 I was paying at At&t I was not complaining. Since then I have had 0 issues with my reception and it has been equivalent to my reception with At&t. Not only that but I have made over $600 in their MOBILE tokens to date just from turning on Discovery Mapping, which allows them to track your location in order to improve areas that might not have the best coverage. This is the next greatest thing since sliced bread! Even at the international price of $20 this is still an absolute steal!! If you are anywhere in the US and want an extremely affordable phone plan that is reliable don't hesitate just sign up today. I do not work with Helium or am affiliated with them in any way. I been seeing phone plans prices lately and them prices be around $40 - $140. I can say when I ran into this company this is the best affordable phone plan you will ever get. And the best part about this they are under the T Mobile network. T Mobile have been improving their services and towers especially for 5G. I love how they keep this under 1 plan only for $20, you can’t beat that at all. And you do get unlimited talk & text and data. The only down fall I have is when you go over 30GB of data your connection to the internet will slow down. So if you have home internet or around a area with WI-FI your good. It is eSIM compatible and you can request a SIM card for free which also come with free shipping. Other than that this is the best plan you will ever get and I hope this stay like this for future reference.
It felt too good to be true, but 6 months later my wife and I are still using it and impressed! It took a few days to get a new eSIM from customer support after upgrading to a new iPhone over the holidays, but in general, it’s very self-serve friendly and they’re updating the app regularly. The network is lightning fast, and we are getting completely free service just by using the discovery mapping service and paying with “mobile” coin. We have driven all over the south east and never thought that we were getting any less than the best possible wireless service and connectivity out there. Nicely done Helium!
I’ve been apart of the Solana and Helium ecosystem for awhile and I love them both.. I’ve been using the Helium phone plan for a year and after this recent update with the hexes.. I HATE IT… I didn’t know there was going to be some sort of “Hex” update that I have no clue what it does… I drive 3-3 1/2 hours to and from work(combined) for 4-5 days a week and I haven’t been earning anythingggg.. I also walk around 20,000 steps per day at work and still nothing with the hexes..so I have NO CLUE how I’m not earning anything anymore for the last week almost.. it makes NO SENSE and I wish they would fix this ASAP or tell us why this changed the mapping and what’s the new purpose of it… I still love the blockchain but I’m starting to hate how the mapping and earnings are now… I really am
It is my personal opinion that Helium is not a trust worthy company. I purchased an outdoor hotspot which was dead on arrival, after troubleshooting Helium agreed and I mailed back the hotspot as instructed. Upon receipt they changed their minds and said they would only mail me back the nonworking “dead on arrival” item or nothing. Their reasoning is because I opened a dispute with my credit card company so this somehow means I am a fraudster and they most keep my money and I deserve a dead on arrival unit. For reference I purchased 4 hotspots and accidentally mailed one to a different address, I thought it never came and Helium customer service was non responsive so I opened a credit card dispute. Also, the app is constantly logging out for my family and extended family.
400+ mapping events and no rewards. Customer service is incapable of troubleshooting or assisting in anyway. Took me 3 days and 4 emails for me to find out the issue myself last time. No clue what the issue is now but quickly tiring of having to be my own tech support to figure out what the issue is. And please, please, please do not bother sending me the same copy pasted response you’ve already sent me 4 times. It’s never been helpful and I doubt that’s going to change. Dropped my prior carrier because I thought they could handle it and now I am stuck with no service and no way to call to switch with another provider. Horrible customer experience. I’m canceling as soon as I can figure out how to get to another carrier.
Good app with one major update and few others needed
I have been using this for a while now and it’s not bad. The most important thing they need to update is When logging in it shouldn’t make us have to login with email and then prompt us for password after we push enter. It should populate both at the same time. It’s very annoying. It also since last update is kicking us out if we lose signal for a while or turn it off. Other than those things it’s a pretty simple app. Wish they would allow more accounts with same cards too.
I’ve noticed after the newest update the phones are not getting the the mapping hexes like before. Either my phone or my families phones will not get the mapping rewards for the same route mapped. We hop in the same car and carpool to work and notice that at least one of us didn’t get our mapping hexes. We’re all on the newest update so that’s not the reason. The problem is that if we’re on time for work we have no time to leave and map another route before 6pm. That means we just have to miss out on the rewards for the day.
Recent update broke discovery mapping and lost my free redemptions
Discovery mapping feed isn’t working after latest update and it now shows that I have only 1 free claim instead of the 9 I had previously. Discovery mapping feed doesn’t show anything and when I contacted support they said it was disabled. I tried disabling and re enabling and support confirmed it was then enabled on their end but I’m still not seeing anything in my feed. I hope the feed starts showing up again or they release an update to fix this, and also give me back the 9 free claims I had.
I am trying to switch my number from Helium to another operator and they have not released my number for 1.5 days and I cannot use my number and phone for 1.5 days because of Helium. They don't even have a phone number for me to call, their live support line is not available at night, during the day they answer with a 10 minute wait, and when they answer, they cannot offer you any solution and they just say they will forward it to their technical team, but I am sure they don't even have a technical team. I will file a lawsuit against them.
The concept of Helium Mobile is great, an affordable cell plan, and the added benefit of earning rewards. However, there was a major change to the rewards structure and now in order to earn you’ll be required to map 40 hexes and these will be on a cool down once mapped that will last 15 minutes. Today I drove for about two and a half hours and I couldn’t map a single hex. In 2 1/2 hours of driving throughout south Florida. Zero mapped hexes it seems like they are tying to make earning rewards very very difficult. This will surely drive away some customers. Can we go back to the old way of rewards
I am so thankful to coinbase for offering this in the earn section. I tried it right away and I have to say some days it to good to be true that u can get a great service better then t mobile verizon etc and get rewarded! I am so happy and excited I just wish they had this years ago so I could have saved thousands on phone bills which have just been stealing everyones money!
I’ve been involved in Helium from the beginning in 2020; over the last 5 years, I’ve watched the monumental build out of IOT and MOBILE infrastructure by everyday people, all over the 🌎 … For those that feel 20$/mo is too good to be true; that’s more a reflection of just how much big Telco has been ripping us off than Helium’s offer. The truth is- most people won’t even pay 5$ a month for this plan! It rewards more than it costs! If you make the switch, be sure your phone is unlocked, paid off, and call your service provider for a the transfer pin. The transition is seemless & takes minutes. Couldn’t be more pleased! You rock Helium!
this is one of the cheapest if not the cheapest unlimited phone plans that actually works and isn’t garbage. me and my family have been using helium mobile for a few months now and it’s awesome. The fact that you can earn rewards from the mapping data is a deal maker. no other cell phone company that i’m aware of does this.
Yea it seems too good to be true only $20 a month unlimited and they pay you more than that for discovery mapping but it’s real. Ditch your phone company and join the peoples network. Get you a helium mobile hotspot so you can earn more rewards and have the best connection. It’s a no brainer crypto is here to stay and it could only get better from here.
I’ve been on hold with support with no luck. They can’t figure out why my app is just spinning. I can log into it just fine on other devices but not the actual helium cell phone that does the mapping. I have reset carrier settings, deleted and redownloaded, turned off and on, took out SIM card and put back in, used WiFi, used cell only... basically every trouble shooting available but it just spins. Changed PW and know it’s correct as I can still login on my t-mobile phone just fine. This was working great until it didn’t. Hopefully somebody can help.
Can’t pay with MOBILE, used to be able to. They blame Solana network congestion, but my other apps send and receive with quickness. The only reason they don’t get 1 star is because the price still is attractive for the service. They better get it together because Chirp is coming for $5/mo and on the SUI network. UPDATE: the prepay finally went through, but only after market dipped and I ended up having to use more MOBILE.
I highly encourage people to get this plan literally the best 20$ nation wide and if you travel 15$ more with no unexpected fees and it has no contract you can’t beat that it’s unlimited and good customer support usually response within 5 minutes and they updating the app regularly
Your app has many dead ends, you must have an option for a user to back track to n every single page. User should never be stuck choosing only your options for moving forward. At present if you change your mind about some action, the only way out is to blow away the app and start over. I expected better from you!
The service has been amazing. Internet speed has been great as well. downside is trying to claim funds at times. Also I have not been mining for the last 2 days because the discovery mode just randomly cut out. There needs to be some type of notification informing you if you’re not connected because I definitely I didn’t do it myself.
If you have good T-Mobile service in your area, helium works great. All the negative reviews are from people who either don’t follow instructions or don’t update their app in a timely way. Do both and you’ll be good
This is the best choice I have made so far. I get paid for helping them discover areas where more coverage is needed, they smoothly switch me to another carrier to ensure that i have data and phone coverage! For $20? I can’t ask for more!
My app be getting logged out for no reason it happened all the time throughout the day don’t know why, also the two factor authenticator doesn’t work well don’t activate the service. My more reward keep getting smaller and smaller neck complaining about that because $20 a month is nothing to complain if the service is decent. Customer service is almost nonexistent. They have a lot to improve.
I love ther service ever since it came out in California. Joined them for 20$ a month. No dropped calls or bad signals. Only issue I run into is the app constantly logging me out after the latest update which limits the amount of mapping I do. I drive around a lot and seeing some days that I received 0 credits for mapping seems a bit wasteful.

After the new update- can’t claim reward. The services have become slower, the app has lots of bugs, logging me out frequently… The reward keeps loading for hours without going through, even though I’m using my own solana to claim it… It’s disappointing especially telling people and speaking highly of Helium Mobile in the past.
They advertise the ability to earn MOBILE tokens by helping the network with data mapping without the need to switch phone providers…while technically true, to do this you still need to pay to be a subscriber to their service (with the ability to choose to continue to use your current provider if you are ok with paying for a service that you won’t use). SMH
I use it as my primary cell service. I was in the beta so I locked in the $5 a month which you can’t freaking beat. $20 for new subscribers is still a steal though. Highly recommend

I updated my app the other and now i've had zero payout 2 days in a row. it says i have zero mapping event when i've definitely been driving all around town. Other than that the service is great. I hope it gets fixed soon

I have been with Helium for a couple of months and I love it! Great service in New Jersey and the E-SIM option is a great option for a second line on my Iphone.
Invalid imei error even though the phone is unlocked
I have an unlocked iPhone with two eSims. It works fine with Google fi. However, when I try to finish signing up for helium, I keep getting invalid IMEI error for both imei numbers. And I don’t see any way to contact the Support. And this happens after they already collected my contact information and my credit card 🙁.
There’s no legit reason to remove the option to allow your customers to pay for the service monthly. Please put the option back. Don’t let greed influence your humble beginnings.
I canceled this MONTHS ago because it is no longer worth it and they just recently charged me randomly for a month. I didn’t approve this transaction or resubscribe. I don’t even have the app anymore but now have to download it to dispute the charges. In the past they had double charged me and then refunded me in the token which is super scammy.
I have already ported my number and am ready to install the eSIM on my iPhone 15 Pro. However, I encounter a problem: whenever I click “continue” to install eSIM, it keeps redirecting me back to the home page of my plan. I then select Install eSIM again, but it just returns to the home page, preventing me from completing the eSIM installation process.

Mobile token - Free claims work but not paid claims. Can't prepay with MOBILE either. There must be a reason why free claims are going through but not paid claims, when they go through the same Solana network. Devs should look into putting an option for higher gas fee or priority fee to make sure transactions will go through successfully.
