iHome Enhance

I got the BTW39 as a birthday present because it’s a wireless charger as well as a speaker and an alarm clock. I downloaded this app because the instructions said to, and it worked for a good while. However, about a month after I downloaded the app, it stopped working. It kept saying “finding devices”, even though the Bluetooth was on and my phone was physically on the device. Luckily it somehow began working again......for another few weeks. Last night I went to set my alarm via the app (because it’s a helluva lot easier than manually doing it), and it disconnected and is saying “welcome to enhance” like it usually does. Fast forward 20 minutes and it’s not connecting. I’ve done everything and have tried everything. Disconnecting both the app and the device from my Bluetooth settings, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but still no luck. I’m using an iPhone XS Max on iOS 12.1.2.

I received my second clock Friday and went out of town so it didn’t get set up until Sunday. The set up process was pretty easy enough until I look at the clock 2 hours later and it was set to the same time I had originally set it for. I messed around with the clock for 2 hours trying to uninstall apps, turn the Bluetooth on and off, take the battery out, unplug it and set it up again and again. NOTHING.... I mean nothing came from doing all of that so I decided to try customer service today which wasn’t any help because he walked me through the same steps I had already taken last night and the he ask did you get a warranty??? Well sir it comes with a one year warranty so what are we going to do well let’s escalate it to the higher ups???? Why would we do that so they can walk you through steps I may be unaware of 🤦🏽‍♀️ Sir it shouldn’t be this hard to set a clock up especially it it can be done from an app. Needless to say I’m sending this one back and trying yet again to see if the 3rd time is a charm as I really like the clock but the buttons were messed up in the first one and this one, well it really has a mind of its own. Please improve the app as it keeps crashing as well.

Nothing is user friendly about this app. The alarm functionality is subpar. This is unfortunate because setting the alarm on the unit itself is annoying. The alarm buttons have been place inconspicuously on the back of the unit to keep everything looking sleek. If not selecting one of the four mundane alarm tones, that you can only preview by actually setting off an alarm, you get to select a generic Bluetooth functionality that will only begin playing what is currently selected in your music app. So far, I haven’t been able to get the app to function with Apple Music (one of the few things it’s supposed to be compatible with). Without that, the so called “Smart” button does nothing but serve as another button to turn off audio because I don’t own any smart home devices. The Bluetooth connected almost immediately and lost connection within the first 5 minutes of me playing with my iPhone as well. Overall the app leaves just about everything to be desired. Hopefully iHome is working on a massive overhaul of the apps functionality with its products. Otherwise I’ve just paid $80 for a glorified charger connected to a mediocre Bluetooth speaker.

The majority of the app is wonderful, but the alarm section is where I seem to get problems. I have tried to set multiple alarms in the alarm tab but whenever I put in an alarm time it always changes it back to the default times(6 and 7). I have resorted back to the App provided on my phone for alarms now. It would also be nice if there were a variety of different alarm sounds provided. I haven’t experienced any other problems within the app. So other than my problems with the alarms it is a good app. A suggestion is that if there were a section where you could create a “playlist” of colors. So for example you could create a winter playlist and include colors like blue, white, gold, etc.. It would be nice to have certain colors put together in our own order to coordinate with a theme in a room or to just spread a good vibe!

I got the clock as a present and I like the fact that it’s a clock as well as a speaker. The buttons on the clock are really hard to press so I use the app to set the alarm. Every single time I get on the dang app it says “finding devices” or the alarm page will continue loading. It is so annoying and frustrating. The amount of times I’ve actually gotten the app to work are low. That needs some fixing so it’s not always crashing.

I love the app because it keeps me from loosing my mind with all of the buttons for the alarms. One thing that I would suggest to make the app so much better is setting like a color timer. Like, you can set what time you want for example, sky gradient and another for lamp. Because during the day I like my clock on fade, but in the dark, it kind of freaks me out so I always turn it on to lamp and it gets kind of annoying to go into the app twice a day just for that. Its only a suggestion that I think would make this app so much better.

I am not sure where these bad reviews come from but this app works well. The only problem I have see is that the app freezes after I exit out of the alarm menu. After this, in order to get the app working again you must completely close out of the app and re-open it, then it automatically pairs with your iHome (so it’s really not that big of a big problem but I still wish the glitch was fixed). In all, this is app is a really awesome addition to the iHome, and I’m glad they have it.

The speaker works great and the lights are great. However, the only problem I’m having with the app it’s self is that I can’t control the lights from the app. Also, I have no clue how to turn off the alarm. I have it across my room and I can’t turn it off from my phone. But the only thing I really want to is being able to change the light and the design on the app but I can’t do that because the app doesn’t work when I try to control the lights. How do I make it work?

My IBT233v2 won’t connect to the app. My phone connects no problem but the app just has the 3 icons continuously spinning. I’ve seen others have had the same problem and the response to fix it doesn’t work. Call customer service between 8am-4pm EST. What a hassle. I don’t know why iHome doesn’t find a different app developer. This app is failure!! Update: I see the developer has responded to some of our reviews the the app doesn’t support v2. Well it says on the product description for my v2: “ Free iHome Enhance app lets you set clock, alarms, control radio and select audio sources over Bluetooth”. That is one of the reasons I asked for this clock for Christmas.

After an update I could no longer use the alarm function from the app. Most recent update does not fix this. I am assuming they’ve abandoned support for this model (IBT233). **After waiting several months and a couple of updates, the issue seems to be resolved (I almost gave up hope). I enjoy the clock radio and app! I hope both continue to function.

Hello. I have a newly gifted iBTW39 for my iphone 12 pro. App and clock worked great for a few weeks and then suddenly the 2nd alarm is completely gone from the app screen. Uninstalled the app, reinstalled, restarted phone and still no 2nd alarm. Then out of blue last night the app refused to connect. Saw someone else had a similar issue so I followed those directions and was able to get the app to connect again, but the 2nd alarm option is still missing. Help please.

I got this app because my grandma got me this clock a few years ago and I recently started using it again and I wanted to get an app so it’s easier to set the alarm, but I download this app put in all the information and it says iHome cloud is unavailable at this moment please try again and I try again again and again never works and my clock works great but all the apps don’t work and it’s making me mad because all I want to do is set up an alarm in a quick and easy way but it doesn’t work

For some reason you have to not only pair your device to Bluetooth, but the app as well (instead of using the device’s pair). I had a feeling this would eventually happen - the app was paired, but now can’t find the device - just spins. Deleting and adding the app did not help nor did doing the same with the actual device. This app came out four years ago and hasn’t been updated in three, so no surprise there are problems. I’ll never buy another iHome device - they’re cheap, overpriced and ill supported.

As of 3/8, this app no longer pairs with my iHome iBT297 that I purchased brand new in December for $60!! I have an iPhone X and it worked fine until 3/8. I have followed all of the reset steps 5 times and it will not pair. I called the Customer Service department and they were very rude and absolutely no help at all. I wish I would have know all of this before I paid $60 for this thing. According to the reviews I’m not the only one having an issue and the developer responds with a rude comment each time. What a terrible company with terrible, unless products!

Sadly, as of today at least, I am in the one-star group. Just purchased an iBT233V2 and was excited to see the option to do some of the settings from my phone. Unfortunately, I don’t get past the spinning “Looking for devices” screen. I confirmed that the device is paired with my phone. Tried reloading the App and restarting the phone, all to no avail. My phone is an iPhone 7 running iOS 12.1.2. Also tried it on my iPad running iOS 12.1.1. Same result. At this point, the only good thing about the App is that it is free, but I’d really like it to work.

The app worked for a few weeks then quit opening up. I purchased the alarm clock/speaker so my phone and it could sync from separate rooms. Eliminating the need to carry my phone everywhere to time and to no longer use my cell as an alarm clock. Unfortunately the app stopped opening all together so I’m unable to control the alarms. I tried the method suggested in other review reply’s, (unplugging and resetting) but they did not work. It’s be nice if the creators updated their app considering a lot of their products rely on it. Last update was a year ago 👎🤷🏻‍♀️🤔

I love iHome products and I will admit to having high expectations for you, but as renowned a company as you, should not have this much of a problem with an application like this, it should simply connect and play music, this is a disappointment next to Melody. I am not saying that to hurt you, merely the truth. Everyone is telling you to do better, so do better. Fix your application and you will have happier customers. Also please add a compability list, I don't know if my device is compatible or not, since I can't check that on your product.

I got it so I could have better ease when changing my alarm settings on the ibt233v2 but I got stopped at a screen with 3 spinning icons and a “looking for devices...” and nothing else. I have a previous opinion on a different screen before that one where it asked for me to sign in. I didn’t have an account so I clicked skip this step and I can’t get back to the login now so to be honest it looks nice but I feel better design and a overall rework is need for this. If you have a way of fixing this let me know please.

It was so easy I didn’t even need the manual. I downloaded the app, opened it, and it INSTANTLY paired despite having deleted it before. Next it instantly showed up options. I look at my clock... BAM! 😲 The right time is being displayed. I’m not sure why there’s so many bad reviews. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I loved my ihome alarm clock until the ALARM STOPPED WORKING! Kind of defeats the purpose of an alarm clock. If I mess with the app each night and turn the alarm on and off and change what I wake to back and forth then make sure to back out to the main screen, sometimes it works. But sometimes the alarm says it’s going off but there’s no noise coming from the alarm. It’s not fun wondering each day if your alarm is going to go off or not.

So I just got the app a couple days ago, and so far it has just been stuck on the loading screen with 3 spinning icons and it says looking for devices. I did sign in, and that didn’t seem to help at all. My phone is connected to my product (iBT233V2) but it still seems to do nothing. I read another review where a customer had the same problem, and I followed the instructions that you gave them, but they were still no help to me. So, developers, I hope you fix this problem. Thank you for your time!

I was blackmailed into getting this app, my old app that I could simply set my phone on do used to set my clock was disabled. And then I was blackmailed into getting this app which does not work. This is garbage, it used to take five seconds to set my clock . Open the app set my phone on top boom done. That functionality is gone, developers hate people. They want an account now, they demand Bluetooth on, it’s no longer plug and play working. I hate this app. Don’t buy this garbage!

Just doesn’t seem to reliably connect to the device. We have (2) iBT297’s. One in each kid's room. We haven’t had to use the app since last March when the schools shut down and we turned off their alarms. Now that school’s back in, we’ve been trying to fine tune their alarms but each time have to do it manually because the app won’t connect to one or the other. There are many features that would be nice, but I’d just be happy if the app would reliably connect to the device.

The only reason I give 4 star rather than 5 is because I tried to download the melody app for the voice activated assistant and it said the app wasn’t available in my country/region and would not show up... so a little upset because I do live in the USA 🇺🇸 so not sure what happened but this app 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Please uninstall this app forever. It won’t help you whatsoever. Just reset the speaker (using a sharp pencil or something after turning it on) and go into your phone’s bluetooth settings to search for the product. Using this garbage app, I tried over & over again to pair & repair (😒), having installed & uninstalled the app as well. It’s worthless. Sure, it would be great & convenient af to have an app that is able to allow you to control your speaker wirelessly but so far this app can’t do anything.

I liked this app when I first downloaded but it’s slowly stopped working - my biggest grievance is that the alarm page in app never loads, which is one of the main reasons I liked this app! The alarm feature made it so convenient to change alarm times but now that it never loads it’s pretty much useless. I’ve deleted app and updated, please send out patch.

I have had the iBT297 Ihome for about 1-2 weeks now. Initially everything worked fine with the app but now the app stopped working and will not connect - it just spins and says looking for devices. I have an iPhone 8plus and from my research it is compatible with device and app. I have tried the reset instructions posted on other reviews multiple times with no success. I am a little frustrated at this point. Can you help with what this issue could be and provide a fix for it??? Thank you!

Most of the time any glitches are due to the phone itself. When I upgraded to my new Xs iPhone, the app started working as expected. I wish my alarm clock had WiFi so I could integrate with my smart home

I was really excited about this app because it would let me control it without have to press all the buttons. I have seen many videos where other devices are compatible, but the ibt29 just won’t connect. Developers, I have great respect for you about making this app, but please make it compatible. And if it is, is there a special way to connect? Because every single time I try, it gets stuck on the “looking for devices” screen

Hello I have a Bluetooth speaker iBT68. I have a iPhone XR. The speaker was working before now it has no sound come out of the speaker I have tried everything from resetting and reconnecting to and off my phone. Is there a way to reset the speaker?

My phone pairs with the iBTW39 and works, but the iPhone app no longer works. It spins, saying “looking for devices” and hangs. I have tried resetting the Bluetooth on the machine as notes on the iPhone website, and deleting/reinstalling the app several times. Nothing works. So I guess it’s Fine that I can just use the machine to set the alarms, but the app is useless. Also, PLEASE fix the super-loud “Pairing...Connected.” There is no reason for an audible confirmation, let alone one that defaults to FULL volume.

I have the model iBT76 and on the box it says you can download this app to control the speaker from your phone. However, upon further research, I found that the ihome app is not compatible with all ihome speakers... don’t advertise products that aren’t compatible with each other on the same box! I wish I could add a picture on here so you can see the ihome app logo and the little “download our app so you can control your speaker from anywhere” tag on the box.

I have a BT297V2, which in its own manual says compatible with this app. I’ve never got it to work with the device, I only ever got the app to work with a different device once, never worked again after that. It always gets stuck on looking for devices. Tried every troubleshooting thing I could find, nothing worked. Update your app to make it work better.

So I got my new 60 DOLLAR Ihome and I read the manual and it said to download this app. I downloaded and it said I have to pair with it in the Bluetooth I had the app running and I pressed to pair with the app it says to make sure it running and in close range. I see I’m already paired with the ihome but not the app I kept wait to go past the looking for devices screen for about half an hour nothing happens I try to pair with it again but still the same thing. It doesn’t want to pair.

What a terrible software and hardware product. The software (app) takes you in a endless loop to to check for devices, which it never does. Even after you connected it via Bluetooth. Judging by developer comments on these reviews. They require to reset your network connections , erasing your Wi if, why would I ever do that? Hardware wise, it doesn’t connect to your device via Bluetooth half the time. This is the first iHome product I ever owned and it will be my last. Luckily I got this as a gift from my job. if you bought this. I hope you have the receipt , because return it and spend a little extra cash for something is worth your time.

Such a great concept but the app programmers must be a family friend of the ceo. The software is unstable and they only update the app and firmware every few years! Do NOT buy ihome products if u expect a product that just works! I uave been suckered twice and no more i home for me. My old one is in the garage and the new one will end up in the basement. I only purchased because i thought the new “enhanced app” would be better BUT it is actually worse!!

This app does a really poor job at simply connecting to the device, when lucky it connects, whatever the modifications to the alarm clock time, lights,... you set, it won’t apply to the device itself, so you will have to set all again manually on the device... No support on the website, with very general information like no one experience any tech issues with it. You can’t even access the settings of the app if it does not pair/find your device... Very sloppy job from a known company. If I knew, I would not have bought the iBT alarm clock! Response to SDI answer: Already followed this procedure so many times without success. It does not solve the issue. iHome App keeps browsing without pairing.

This app worked great for a month for my ibt297, then beginning a few of days ago I could no longer use the app to access the alarm settings. All it does is spin, like it's trying to connect to the alarm but can't. Meanwhile, the other features of the app still work fine (changing the color mode, sleep mode). But the alarm settings are the most important feature of the clock! PLEASE FIX.

I bought both of my kids an iHome for Christmas. Once they download the app things went downhill from there. We had to repeatedly go through the pairing process as it will unpair itself without warning. I created user accounts for both of them, but it sits on the login screen. While everything can be done on the iHome, not being able to control it with the app makes it a nuisance. I am returning the iHomes.

I got the ihome ibt62 a while ago and saw this app. I figured it would be cool to be able to control the lights and things like that. I downloaded the app and I just said “Welcome To Enhance!” And it won’t connect. I have it connected to my phone but the speaker won’t connect to the app. I anyone could help me with this that would be wonderful.

Everything works except the alarm section on the app...it will not load at all. I just keep staring at the loading circle. Everything else in the entire app works no problem...nothing in the alarm part pops up....not sure if it’s operator error but this has never happened before

This app in all is pretty good! However I don’t know how to add another ihome device. I have looked around the app but haven’t found anything. I have reseted my Bluetooth but it still didn't do anything. Otherwise this app is good and I would recommend it!

This app works great the colors are awesome and instead of going back to the music app I use I can use this app and it shows the picture of the album that I’m listening to and it pairs up in 3 seconds and the speaker works great to.

As for step two in your instructions, are you saying I have to disconnect, or “forget” my other Bluetooth devices, such is my Apple Watch and/or FitBit? Those are a pain to reconnect. I tried to work around by turning Bluetooth off, but then when I open the app, it wants BT turned on.

This app is not good at all! It will usually pair with my alarm clock but when I try to open the alarms function it either won’t open, or will eventually look like it opened on my phone but the alarm I set doesn’t take affect on the clock, so the alarm never goes off in the morning. This is pretty bad if you are relying on the alarm and think you have it all set via the app, then it never goes off to wake you.

Beanmaster sad! The app will not pair with beanmaster ihome and beanmaster see 3 little circle thingies floating around “wee wee wee!” They go. Beanmaster was happy to have a cool app beanmaster could use to have mind control over the iHome speaker. This app give beanmaster MAJOR diarrhea. AHHHH!!! It’s squirting out like a hose!!! Ahhhhhhhh! It’s all over my BRAND NEW noodle machine! OK! THATS IT! NOBODY messes with MY noodles! I say, you make the 3 little circle thingies take a veeeery long night night,or you will be licking up diarrhea from my noodle maker! Goodnight!

Didn’t work at all. Set up is NOT user friendly. I wanted to recommend to a friend, but no way in hell can I. If you want to try and re-pair the device, make sure you have a lot of time on your hands. Obviously this is an app that the creators care nothing about as the same issues have been going on for a very long time. Fix the app or pull the app. Leaving what is here is insane.

Can no longer get audio from speaker or get it to pair on any of 4 different devices after iOS 12. Speaker pairs enough to control settings, but cannot get audio portion to pair. iphone 5s, iPhone 6 plus, iPhone 7 plus, iPad air 2. So speaker is now a paperweight. Also even when speaker used to work, this app does nothing but remove features after each update.

If you like watching three circles spin in circles, then this app is for you. If you want to control your clock/alarm (iBTW39) then you may want to go another way. Worked for a week & now won’t pair. Am connected to the device (it plays music) but the app won’t connect. Super frustrating for an $80 clock, especially since setting the alarms without the app is a pain. Please fix this, iHome.

I have an iPhone 7 and it works without creating an account. I’m very excited to use. But for my husband with an Samsung S9 (if it’s matter)didn’t work at all, he actually give it up.
