This app does not work but boy do I tell you online is amazing. Search up instant checkmate in safari chrome whatever web browser you use and it works amazing. And no it’s still not free but that’s a good price to pay for such good results. (Did you catch that. Good price to pay. Get it haha)
I feel like this app is pretty good but it can give out false information or no info on certain people. One thing that I do find weird about it is that it’s accessible for ALL people and gives your FULL address (most of the time) and your number, and when you were first and last seen. This would be good if your looking for information on people but the fact that anyone (including sex offenders and robbers) can see were you live and in what state, town, street and address can be a bit concerning because of the fact that they don’t get your permission on what they put on there site about you. Overall it’s pretty good but there are some major concerns involving privacy.
Be warned if you decide to use your subscription outside of the app in a web browser i.e. safari or chrome, with cross site tracking prevent turned on, the site will return an error message and then repeatedly attempt to open the previously sent request over & over & over eventually leading to the account being permanently locked. I paid $30 and change for a month subscription that only lasted 4 days because of this dumb glitch. How can this app even be in the App Store if the parent site isn’t aware of such things & no, I’m not lowering my security settings for any of you who are already pilfering and selling data to the tune of billions of dollars. This is crap and so is your app.
It told me I have to pay to get the information so I paid and then it tells me you have to pay again. When I go to pay again it says I already paid but they won’t give me the service. I call the number for customer service and she told me I can’t get the service even though I paid. Which she confirmed and said to sign out and back in which I did. Still nothing she said we don’t do disputes. You will have to purchase again once your subscription is up. I’ve had no problems with them in the past with getting basic info. But you have to pay extra for what you want after paying extra to not even get the product or service.
Great Screening Tool...but you still have to filter!
ICM (instant check mate) gives you a treasure trove of information. Fairly easy to read and fairly current. That said, you still have to make sure you are looking at the right person, and beware that ‘associates’ may just be people that lived at the same apartment complex (and who knows their neighbors, really?!). Real estate info is too voluminous, and should be summarized. Finally...way too much focus on nearby ‘sex offenders’. I don’t think all sex offenders like to live near each other...or do they?
Every search returns with a ton of “possible” or “likely” info. I searched myself and nearly everything is incorrect - addresses I’ve never lived at, phone numbers I’ve never had, stated no education history or licenses found, etc. I’m a nurse. Obviously I went to school. I have a nursing license issued by New York State. It’s public information. How is this site unable to find that during their “extensive public record search”? How can someone be born in 1990 and be 113 years old? At first I thought the date may have been 1890 and was input incorrectly but that still wouldn’t be 113. If simple math is above the developers head, it’s no surprise everything else on this site is garbage too.
Call me cheap but I think the pro subscription is a bit pricey... the info you get is much faster than doing the research yourself and that only costs you , your time of doing the research. As a mother of 3 girls and had been single I research everyone we come in contact with. I want to know as much as I can about a person. But the other side is it’s fast convenient and seems the info is very very current and up to date.
Works ok but COSTLY!! Be aware that even if you think you're just getting a one month subscription, you're NOT! You are actually in an ongoing agreement to pay from now until ???? I signed up, didn't pay enough attention to details😳 and wound up paying for 4 months before I caught it on my bank statement. I called the company & even though they could see that I had only done ONE SEARCH they were unable to reverse the charges. I know that technically they were right but GEEZ!!!
I paid for the subscription, none of the features work. If i were to click unlock report now it will stay loading for an hour and wont open, pretty much a money grab, tried to ask for a refund they did not refund my money , i usually do not leave reviews but an app like this i had to and especially if there taking people hard earned money left and right like this , this had to be brought to light and resolved. Wish i could give it 0 stars. Horrible
The app of this background report group was easy and free flowing, but above all, accurate. There was one instance however, where I couldn’t determine the age of the person and there appeared a person with no age. It turned out to be the person, but you guys can do a little more diligence to determine the age, so the identity of the individual in question is that more definitive, otherwise it was great.
I just found out there is an app! So excited. But confused that I get different information on the app and the website. Very accurate information but some information is one place but not the other.
I tried this service for a few days. Did 2 background checks as a test. One on myself and one on a person I know well. Both were inaccurate! I told them about it by email after 2 loooong waiting sessions on the Customer support line with no result. Long story short, Instant Checkmate took my money but did not deliver accurate services. I deem this a scam and dangerous because you cannot trust the outdated and incomplete information on the background check performed by Instant Checkmate. Surprised if this will post or stay posted.
But if you remember your old search methods, using maiden names, nick names and different descriptions of places it unveils a lot more than before. Be creative
I use it all the time and no, nothing is perfect but it’s pretty darn accurate and helps me an awful lot of the time. I’ve tried other services, but this one has done the best job so far and it’s easy to use. And I’m still using the free version.
Seems good and basically what I expected. IMO a bit pricy. I would rate 5 stars if their services were WITHOUT the automatic billing, that’s always such an inconvenience but that’s what companies bank on.
Unless you pay, you can get the same or more info by simply googling a persons name. The information in the app is also often dated or incorrect confusing and mixing info with same name others. I don’t find this useful for much of anything. I don’t know what f info is more valid upon payment but I’m not going to pay to find out.
I’d avoid these guys if I were you! Reports don’t offer much information. Tried canceling through app. Sent customer service multiple messages asking how to cancel and never received a reply. Was billed for 3 months. When I called customer service the supervisor would not take my call. Fortunately Apple refunded 2 months. Was a mistake ordering this app!!!
I was willing to pay to access to my background information. It just go through the process and then it just sits while the downloading icon is just going on and on. Deleted it. 😐 Also I feel that it’s kind of tricky to pay to get full access and it’s too expensive. No thanks!
Out of curiosity, I checked my own background. Nearly all of the information on me was not even close to factual. I hope employers don’t use this app to check on perspective employees. I’m not planning on wasting any money to see if it improves the results.
I tested my phone number and it came up on another individual. I’ve had same cell phone number for 12 years. Another number I got same day for family member doesn’t even show up. Waste of my time.
Little information on the app that is beyond what you could find with a simple internet search and a lot of peripheral info that has no current relevance to the person. Don’t waste your money.
Update: 8/9/19 The regular apps in rotation are now down to using just 2 apps. This and a competitor. (And if I need a 3rd, I use a public records database.) I’m going to continue to use this app for sure. Really, I’m only using the other app still, because, when I cancelled, they pulled out and offered the customer retention rate and I took the bait.. This ends my update. ———————————————————— Initial review. (Edited for typos) I use a few different apps/websites. So far this one is the best for value, and it’s easy to navigate. The navigation within the app is very simple. Easy to figure out. I like how the information is displayed. The fonts are decent and easy to read. The information is the most accurate so far out of all the apps of this type. And that’s probably why it’s the most expensive. The problem is - that it really isn’t a whole lot more accurate info that your getting. And debatable if you’re really getting any more info that the lesser expensive and free apps already give you. I’ve been comparing about 4 on a regular basis. And cross referencing information and seeing which apps leave out the most. And if the info is really even that relevant for me. The added information has been interesting at best. And maybe helpful on a few occasions. I’ll keep using it for awhile. While comparing with the others I’m also using. In conclusion.. Honestly, I do like it overall. And it’s the best so far. However, it’s not that superior to lesser expensive apps available. Not that I can see yet.. Obviously, accurate information and the type of information given is a huge factor in considering which app I will use for the long term. Considering the competition, it may not be as detailed and may be missing some info at times, but overall pretty close to the same as given with compared with this app. And since cost is also a major concern for me, if I had to choose this second... It’s a hard sell for continuing my membership. Unless I start seeing some major differences, or a lot more accurate information in this one or some extra value it offers.. I’m not sure Yet that I can justify the extra cost and may need to continue with the other apps. Will update again after using it a bit more. Maybe it will hold up for overall value.
