I love this camera system, but the app is horrible. Sometimes all my cameras load, sometimes only a few load, and sometimes none of them load. You guys need to fix this. I refresh, refresh, refresh, log out and log back in, only to be met by frustration. I may consider a different camera system when the time comes to update. I use my cameras to make sure my kids get in the house safe after school, but am seriously reconsidering Laview.
These cameras are not a plug and play system like nest cam for example, but they offer a lot more flexibility and options in terms of setup. That has the one downside of things being a little more complicated and a lot more factors coming into play such as network issues hardware in between etc. As far as I can tell the app works flawlessly over WiFi or cell and playback on all 5 of my cameras is live. So I believe the negative reviews come from other setup issues that is not a fault of the app. I use dynamic dns and connect using manual adding over http ported through my router. Thanks
The cameras work fine. Unfortunately the developers of this app made it so you not only have to log in and reload your cameras every few days, but today it isn’t working at all. When you need to look at your cameras, you don’t want to have to go through several minutes of logging in and resetting everything back up before you can even see the cameras. It’s been years since users started leaving reviews about how awful this app is and nothing has changed. It shows how meaningless user experience is to the company, so I’d caution you to reconsider purchasing LaView in general…unless you want to get frustrated using the app.
LaView Apps Always Breaking time to time. The latest is being forced logged out by the LaView app, having now to accept their privacy policy when logging in and getting failed to transfer errors, and cannot log in. Been here before, with open tickets, and support is 1) slow to reply via email 2) not technically in the know with their apps and systems when calling in, and 3) giving the impression they could care a less. Tired of the apps breaking here & there. Seems like it’s once a month you have to contact support to get remote viewing to work! Not my kind of company knowing what they are doing!
This app so far has worked flawlessly. The video is very clear and does not lag. My only complaint is that you cannot speed up the video while reviewing recorded video on the app. You can scroll through, but cannot see the video while scrolling. There is a button on the screen to speed up while playing video, but it does not work. I emailed support and they advised me this new version does not support that function?
Since my device was upgraded to iOS 17 version the app does not work as expected. I can sign in into P2P but the device never loads, the app stays loading (with the spinning animation) and never shows my NVR or cameras. So, basically the app is useless. My guess is that it needs to be rebuilt with the updated libraries for the new iOS version. The developer needs to handle this and test it properly so the end users can keep using their devices. The end game can be users get mad by the frustration and decide the replace all equipment and stop using “laview” completely.
Have had the 16-cam NVR system for about a month now, and this app has worked great the entire time. You have to have a fast connection to stream the video to your iPhone - a 1-bar signal will not be sufficient. I can watch all eight cameras at the same time on wifi or cell signal (I have eight cameras), and reviewing past recordings works well as well. I have no complaints. I'm not using the P2P feature, I'm using port forwarding on my router.
Out of know where last week my live view on my phone app stopped working. Didn’t change a thing. Everything still works on the monitor and says we’re connected. The whole reason for security system is to be able to check it. This is now useless to me as I cannot be away and check on my company. I paid over $1000 for this. Very frustrating. Would use a different system if I could do it again. Only thing nice on the system is a clear picture on the monitor.

Horrible app. Was booted out of app today. trying to sign back in, and i am told "user does not exist." tried to register a new account by email and phone, no success. once i input my info for new registration, the app does nothing. i give negative 5 stars. safe yourself time and frustration, use a dependable camera system. the few dollars extra will be worth it, i assure you. absolutely hideous la view, and your customer service is even worse. i regret investing in la view cameras, truly money wasted.
It all makes sense now while you’re rates and reviews are low. This is disgusting. I had someone breaking into my house and my security camera. I can’t even log into it the system it’s just disgusting. I don’t recommend this for anyone and laview ❗️❗️❗️i don’t care if you banned me. I have legal representation.❗️❗️❗️❗️
I’m not sure I understand what all the negative reviews are about. This is the fourth camera system that I have used at my business and by far the best. Quick and install, easy to use and the app works seamlessly. I feel that most of the negative reviews are due to user error.
I’ve tried contacting through their site, phone number and email without response. My live view will no longer load on the this app. The cameras work onsite but when in the app the loading icon just keeps spinning. I’ve had no response for 2 days and their phone just rings and rings and rings without a voicemail or anything. It is as though they aren’t even pretending to be a professional business.
Suddenly stopped loading cams. Error most likely in App. Cameras are viewable via Smart TV, but app no longer loading cameras. Last App upgrade 4 years ago, not likely that they are going to update their apps any longer. Seems all LaView apps are out of date and have no app support what-so-ever. Probably will switch back to ring, where they have no issues in keeping up to date.
After the latest update I can no longer connect to live view of my cameras when outside of my home network. Can access live view when on my home WiFi but no access through internet. All settings and addresses are correct even did factory restore!!! What’s the point if not able to see cameras when not at home!!!! Update your latest update!!!!
The app keeps logging me out every few days. Moreover, the camera streams keep getting dropped every few minutes and I have to refresh the app to get it going again (it is not a connection issue since it even happens within my local network at home, and I have tested the reliability of my network thoroughly). Scrubbing through past footage is unbearably painful.
Camera system is great if I could only see it. This is an app only surveillance system with no available PC use, which completely defeats the purpose entirely. The system is expensive and rarely does the app work. There’s not been an update in 9 months! I’d like to know when you’ll be fixing this!
Does not work with iPhone X and new iOS. Doesn’t load cameras, 30 second lag time to switch to panoramic view, once in pano view video stops streaming. Playback is non existent. Cannot connect with IP address through my laptop and techs do not know why. They just stopped communicating and closed my ticket. Wish I had my $1000+ back
Live view works most of the time, but every other day it logs us out and we have to put our password back in even tho the iPhone and iPad a Face ID protected. Secondly the remote playback is absolutely horrible. Can’t get anything to play back when selecting camera and times. Just clunky and slow. Customer service is none existent with this company. Should have gone with another company.
The cameras seem to work just fine but now the app doesn’t load or let us log in anymore. It looks like 4 years since any update and when we removed the app and redownloaded it nothing was solved.
This is a horrible company all around. Remote playback does not work ever. I have called the company multiple times. On the rare occasion that someone answers the phone I still never get a clear answer on how to fix the problem. I wish I would have chosen another company.
Spend approximately $2k for their 4k camera system and all day installed. For the last 2 years, cannot get it to work and I am a CTO with over 20 years of experience. GARBAGE.......this company will go out of business soon with products like these and no customer services.
4.7.2 just updated and I now have lost all my information and cameras. Previously the app worked fine. Sometimes not connecting but usually able to after a reboot of the app. This new version needs serious help.
Have this system camara is great this app is the worst experience..constantly have to refresh or log off and re log on to see. You can’t pic a frame and play on from there as I have seen with other companies. Very basic app and lack of upgrading
This app never worked too great. After a few years it stopped working in mid 2022. Since several models using this app are rebranded hik-vision DVRs, I tried the Hik-Connect app. Not only did it work. It works better than this app ever did.
Recently purchased two wireless cameras both of which wouldn’t connect to WiFi. I tried all troubleshooting tips none were any help so I wouldn’t not recommend this product to anyone. I would tell anyone buy anything on the self other then LaView.
Absolutely no tech support by phone. One of the worst companies to deal with when it comes to customer service. You cannot reach them by phone. Mobile app does not work.
The app logged me out and now I can’t log in. It shows me that my profile doesn’t exist. I can’t even create a new profile . Some error 04 pops up all the time… so annoying!! I don’t recommend this!!!
The App does not work well. Cameras have good photo quality the problem being they don’t always work. Disappointed and will be needing to purchase another camera brand.
All of a sudden I can no longer log in and it just keeps ‘trying to load’. The cameras are great. The app is very much lacking. I can’t view my cameras away from home. That’s kind of the point of the app no?
P2P stopped working on NVR. Followed all of the recommendations on the support site and still cannot view cameras over cellular. Have submitted several tickets on support site and still have not received any response.
App goes offline and then can’t get to login prompt. Very frustrating. Looks like going to have to change cameras so we can use our mobile devices to monitor.
Works sometimes. This is my3rd time installing. Works for a little while then all cameras go offline and you can’t get them back. Common LaView how about making a reliable, stable app. Love the cameras and NVR but the app is disappointing.
Live view works every time. Playback...not so much. Playback may work 10% of the time. Go figure. As of Nov 20, 2018 nothing has changed. The LaView One app is better...but playback is still an issue.
Since the latest update, very inconsistent. Multiple times the app needs to be closed and reopened to function. Your update needs an update. Obviously, this will be ignored, similar to tech support emails.
Pure garbage. App rarely works! Stops working just when you need it. Regretting my purchase of this garbage and should have gone with some well known brands from Costco or Sam’s.
