I recently downloaded the app to track an order. The order screen is simple and easy to understand. The next tab over, used to chat, is a great addition. The app is useful in tracking your product orders, keeping an eye on your documents and other data, and getting help if you need it. I haven’t experienced any issues with the app, and have no complaints. Good stuff legal zoom, keep it up.

Beware! I had called in to check the status on my order and Aaron was by far the most disrespectful and rudest rep I have spoken to at Legalzoom. The company has a dozen different reps that will handle your account and the reps leaving “notes” in a client’s account are clearly not thorough enough since I had to be put on hold for 10 minutes while he “reads” them. I paid for the expedited process but Legalzoom doesn’t feel that the priority is there even when I had paid for the highest package. You’ve been sending me emails that don’t even correlate to my communication with you. I recommended that there should be just one rep to facilitate each specific account so that there isn’t miscommunication and instead of a company taking the feedback and saying, “Thank you, we’ll look into that,” Aaron proceeded to rudely disrupt and say that “it’s impossible because we have thousands of business requests”. You have lost my business and future businesses. Building a foundation for a small business and trying to process an LLC should not make me feel like I’m just another number in the “thousands” of requests. Legalzoom does not hold standards high and only wants to reap the financial benefits. Please train your reps to be more respectful over the phone.

After i finally figured out my business name, i filed with LegalZoom and they have been quick and easy so far. Within 6 days, my business was submitted to the state and approved. Just waiting for it to be finalized. Sure, I could’ve done it myself and would’ve been a lot cheaper but after doing the research, i felt LegalZoom was the way to go. i paid for their service and the convenience even tho it is pricey (my reason for 4 stars only) but I’d say worth it. There is a $249 registered agent fee which renews annually so make sure to note that so you can decide whether or not to opt out. For everyone complaining here about that, it’s obvious they didn’t read the fine print at the bottom before you “accept”. So please read those carefully. Whenever i had a question, they were available when i called and were professional. Plus they’ve been great with communication and providing status updates. Would use them again.

This company has been under a lot of scrutiny for their dishonest and questionable practices making you signup for stuff you don’t know you’re signing up for. If you want to start an LLC, one of the best and most affordable things you can do is just go to a local company who will help you get everything started and legit and is often WAY less than Legal Zoom. They charged me almost 800 dollars over the past 16 months for a service I didn’t even know I signed up for and refused to refund my money. Google Legal Zoom controversy. This is not a company that is out trying to help the little guys get started, they are in it for themselves and have deceiving techniques to signup to expensive monthly services you will likely never use. They were rude when I asked for my money they fraudulently charged me with their confusing terms that make people think they need particular services that they most certainly don’t. Be very weary, they are only after your money. You can file an LLC with your local state easily online in most states. Please don’t let them claim another victim.

never use this company! in addition to the fact that they will not send you printed documents to your address, they will also write off as much money from your card as they want, I have screenshots before payment, which shows the amount that I paid, but they decided to write off even more money from my bank card without notifying me about it and without sending a check, I noticed this completely by accident when I went into my bank’s personal account, when I wrote to them in support, they don’t even try to solve this problem, this is the most terrible service I’ve ever seen, NEVER contact this company for services, their only goal is to write off as much money as possible from your bank card! It’s better to immediately find an accountant who will do everything necessary for you, thereby you will save time, money and nerves, NEVER come here if you don’t want to ruin your mood and lose money!!!!

I actually got legal zoom on a web browser, the claim was I needed to use the service for creating an llc. After you purchase what you want through the service it’s nothing but sales pitch after sales pitch for overpriced products, and people I’ve contacted over the phone are as polite as a salesman should be but are very pushy to get you to buy more services and downright lie to you about needing them to try to get you to buy them. Not only that, information and forms I was given are filled with errors I thought were corrected by phone, i need to quit purchasing service related apps for stuff I can do on my own through the irs website. I thought this would save time but really it complicates things. Maybe if your company is getting over a 100k a year this service would be better suited for you.

Started 2 businesses within 2 months. Mostly seamless start. Made an error on state filing documents that set me back 3 weeks but owned the error and didn’t charge for the fix. Signed up for the tax services & appreciate the personable services. Charges don’t extend to the second business, neither cost included or for a small upgrade fee, like a personal accountant would. Weird that they cannot migrate 2 orders under 2 emails into a single account. Inconvenient, old tech, not a dealbreaker. Can’t get the app to open and stay open Going back to edit from 3 stars to 1. More than 3 weeks later. Still no business. Paid for 2 LLCs plus the LZ tax and compliance packages. With each call I get different information and up selling. I’d like to get what I ordered first ….

I had the absolute WORST experience with this company I’ve been trying to get my DBA verified for 2-3 weeks now and all they do is make me chase my tail giving me the same 2 options that have repeatedly not worked. A buddy of mine did the same process which went through perfectly fine, but of course when I do it myself I’m not eligible to do an esignature , they never accept my faxes, there’s always some sort of issue when i send in the pdf files via email. Its been the worst possible scenario every time i get on the phone with a representative just to hear what the one before said to me. Everything is scripted there’s no true help/ problem solving being done wouldn’t recommend using them for nothing in the world at this point.

Specific to the app - good luck. It just doesn’t work. Ultimately deleted. If you’re thinking of doing business with them - don’t. Horrible experience from end to end - the digital experience, their click-bait “offer testing” (including “accidentally” switching the price to a completely different - and $200 higher “offer” - for the SAME package at checkout, arrogant “customer support” and a digital experience that seems to have forgotten that its digital (don’t bother to expect a confirmation or even a status email). In a world where you can set up insurance in less than 5 minutes (Lemonade!) or refinance a loan - and get approval- in less than 10 minutes on a Friday night (SoFi!) the LegalZoom experience is like watching the birth of the Grand Canyon in real time. An utter waste.

I bought the express gold package, on Jan 17, 2019. That suppose to give me the documents and permits I need in 10 days, we’ll, pay around $900 dollars for it, it’s been 6 working days (today Jan 27,2019 -initial date I was promised to receive my documents by the way-) and haven’t even got the initial paperwork that I need to sign to start the process. I received and email and 2 phone calls telling me I needed to sign those documents which can’t do because they haven’t send them to me. I’ve called customer service twice. First time I was told my order was being reviewed and second time I was told it was going to take longer because I didn’t got one of the services they offer (and I don’t need!). So I can say advertising is FAKE! Cero reliability. SCAM.

August 12, 2020 this is truly the worst company I have ever dealt with. Please do not use them. They will take your money and everything in your account without any warnings. During the pandemic I lost my job and I’m trying to start my own business and money is tight, they charge me $320 for a service I didn’t request and promised 1 month ago to credit my account and I’m still waiting for it and charges without any warning keep going, my bank suggested to cancel my card. Customer service won’t answer my calls, chats or emails and the one time I got them on the chat the agent “Amy” kept disconnecting the conversation and I kept going back to her 4 times (yes the same agent) and I have all the screenshots to prove it.***** PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY*****

I filed the paper work for Legal Zoom to form my LLC January 19th, they filed it with my state January 22nd. Around February 3rd I received notification that the process is delayed at the state level. I called the secretary of state’s office February 16th to find out why there is such a long delay. Turns out my LLC has been active with the state since January 27th. They had no clue why there would be a delay. This is the most unprofessional business transaction I have ever done on the internet, and I’m a millennial! I will no longer use there services and I will strongly recommend people look else where for help with any legal documentation. I still don’t have my documentation from them. In addition to this all of their customer support lines are closed due to weather in Austin, TX. Guys, we are a year into a pandemic. How have you not set this business up as a remote business??? Save yourself money and time. File the paperwork yourself to form companies. As far as any other legal work, it might be better to just hire a local attorney.

Me and my husband were a bit confused on how to start our business. Because of legal zoom it was made super fast and easy. If I had any questions I would call support and they were able to answer my questions. We got the paper work today and I love the packaging. Thank you so much legal zoom honestly I’m going to refer you to anyone starting a business.

I paid 50 dollars for the lowest package on there website. They then secretly took a unauthorized 200 dollars out the next day. I disputed the 200 with the bank and legal zoom won so I had to lose 200 dollars for nothing . It’s been over a month and I have received nothing from this shady company. Not a thing.

Our Past Experience with LegalZoom was great, we have seen other reviews. Our experience when we started was nothing like the ones we’ve recently seen and will be back to confirm more opening business transactions etc.

Don’t do business with this company. Their prices are high and they never tell you the real amount they are going to charge you. After you pay one thing they call you back with the statement that was only to start the process and check availability… I purchased a gold package, supposed to be the faster service and my document would be ready in 5 days, I’m still waiting, 10 days already and counting. Plus, be prepared to wait on the phone 1.5 hours and then receive no answer to your issue

This app is nothing short of awful. Limited functionality-I can’t find any of my company documents. I can’t even really tell what it’s supposed to do other than show you your profile (name, address, phone). There are file folders but they are all empty-none of my LegalZoom-created documents are there and there’s no place to access them to put them in the empty folders. There has to be some sort of secret handshake to be able to utilize this app but no one shared it with me.

Possibly the easiest way to start an LLC. Would be nice to be able to send proposals and invoices through LZ Books on IPhone and Tablets, currently only possible on Laptop hopefully there is a solution in the near future

This app worked! It alerted me my order was on hold and since I’m in a hurry I was able to call in & give the needed information to move forward. I think it’s a very useful tool Thanks LegalZoom 👍🏼

awful expensive company, literally use any one or thing else to start aLLC. I dissolved my company 3 years ago, filled out all the paper work with the state and legalzoom and they still charged my card for an agent fee last year (wouldn’t let me dispute the charge) and tried again this year. To make it worse, they don’t even give you an option to remove your card from their website to try to prevent this.

I agree with the negative comments on legal zoom. I’ve tried to use to for multiple services and they failed every time. Their website doesn’t allow any way to know why and all you get are requests to call them and when calling they offer no help. Time to contract the attorney general in their state as it seems they are mostly a scam that doesn’t accomplish what you pay for

5 months and still can’t get a simple problem that the original associate created by mistake. 6 phone calls, 3 emails, multiple requests to speak to a supervisor. Still not fixed. On the bright side their customer service call back service is just as horrifying, it simply doesn’t work. So expect a 2 hr wait on hold to multiple times. Find someone who can actually do the job and do not use LegalZoom.

Find out if you can do it yourself! Legal Zoom was using out dated forms for my state (WI) which put us behind by weeks. My state was the one who informed me the forms were outdated and also told me that they have been trying to work with Legal Zoom about this. My state also told me how to go about getting the necessary paperwork started on my own! Legal zoom cost? Hundreds of dollars for what I wanted... doing it myself? $15 I think you should be able to post negative stars!!!!!

LegalZoom was quick and efficient, set up my LLC properly and quickly, received all documents in a timely manner. Now for the other side..... you will be hounded by their “partners” etc. to purchase / sign up for their services. BEWARE if they tell you its a complementary consultation (example would be 1800 accountants) it is nothing but a sales pitch. There is no consultation and a waste of time. Good luck

I used this last year to start my company and it worked fine. Took longer than they said it would but whatever. They auto charged me one year later $249 for registered agent services. Not something I ever enrolled in. Not a service I want. No email notification. No receipt. I just noticed a charge in my statement which is lzc registered agent. Had to google it to find out what it was. Be careful and make sure you delete you credit card info if you use them.

I love the online services and storage as well as the legal help with telephone lawyers, and registered agent services. They are more then most places cost though, on most things. But there is some good deals, like telephone lawyers. Registered agent is almost three times more though.

This app and company is trash. Do not waste your money on it. It’s hard to get people on the phone. It’s hard to get service and when you do get it they’re very disrespectful

I applied for my business license over a month ago, it had not gone through yet due to an “error” they send messages through the app to chat with them but several times a day I try and it says they are unavailable. I am writing this review as I wait on hold for one hour and 12 minutes (so far). I could’ve gone to a local office and had this completed weeks ago. Absolute garbage company.

This company could give a crap about you after you’ve paid your fees to start. They don’t tell you anything you need to know when you file your business. I had to pay the IRS big money, all because there were things that I didn’t know. It’s all a scam. I didn’t listen and I did my business with them, and look at me now. Warning everyone.

Completely disrespectful I spoke with one of the representatives of LegalZoom and was looking to gain information about my subscription she spoke to me like I was ignorant and stupid and whenever I asked another question she would laugh at me do not use this company not only will they take more money than they’re worth and not give you the work you’re paying for but they will also treat you Disrespectfully

I was able to set an appointment and upload all of my legal documents for the situation very easily. Getting in touch with my legal team should be a breeze.

Legitimately just a complete scam. I agreed to pay $700 for filing. I’ve been charged $1,300 so far with no explanation. The company is literally just stealing money from my bank account at this point. Also after doing some research I’ve learned I could’ve filed everything myself for about $50. I’ve received no value for the money I’ve paid. This was an educational mistake, to never hire this company ever again.

Would not recommend at all. Paid an extra $99 for expedite fee for one day paperwork processing and it took over a week. Called to change registered agent and they said I had to wait until State Processing was complete. Called to cancel registered agent after State Processing and said it was over 30 days even though it took 29 days to process.

Be careful of this service, they will charge you on a reoccurring basis and payment without notification ahead of time and even when your company has been dissolved prior, and they will still charge you and not refund you anything! Just be careful of this kind of business! Extremely bad services and over priced on fees!

Do yourself a favor, get familiar with your state and their processes, and do everything on your own. You will save a lot of money, avoid this trash organization, and you will be better off for it. They will do anything and everything to avoid refunding your money. When you call and they hear "refund," they will mute you and until you hang up.

Do not use LegalZoom they are not helpful at all and won’t answer emails or the phone. They will only notify you on the app after hours when they can’t be reached and you will be stuck waiting for your LLC to be filed with the state. They are the worst company by far there are so many better options out there I set up multiple LLC with other companies prior and legal zoom has yet to answer one call. They are a scam

Highly unprofessional staff and not at all happy with this service - very very disappointed - they refunded my money but what about the time wasted on this.

I hate writing bad reviews but this company deserves this. I would say legal zoom in my opinion is such a failure and a money grab company. They were super sweet and nice but, after waiting almost a month I still haven’t received anything for my business and they keep loosing my paperwork. I highly suggest finding a different company to go with.

You might assume that LegalZoom would have crisply standardized many of the basic services they provide to maximize efficiency. This is not the case. Not only do they provide inaccurate and conflicting instructions on what a user is supposed to do, their customer service people cannot clarify the written instructions because they also don’t know basic answers. Call customer service and ask for a manager? No supervisor available and according to the rep, “no supervisor is going to call you back”. What a way to run a business.

Bloody awful. Paying for gold package and after app shows 2-3 weeks, for completion, sure. That’s why one pays extra. Call help desk. CSR informs that Maryland has 10-12 week lead time. So, “ you should have read the fine print” is what I was told. On hold now to cancel the order. Might as well do it myself. This is utterly useless. Bullocks is the correct terminology.

I know companies like this do that, so I made sure to get my corporate and denied the subscriptions they offered me. And they still charged me $299 a year later. For something that’s cost me $50 to renew myself. Not trustful at all. Called the company and they would not refund me. Be careful

Do not sign up for registered agent it’s a scam! It’s just them getting your mail and they want to charge u 300+ for this service your can get your own mail and have the business under your own name for free! Not only that the agent service doesn’t even do anything

I wanted to look at previous information for my LLC and this app does nothing but tell you to schedule a consultation, and order statuses. Nothing on history or any documents or data pertaining to anything except orders. Completely useless.

I paid almost $600 to set up an LLC. Legal zoom set it up incorrectly and charged me the full amount and in order cancel/dissolve the LLC I had to pay an additional $179. This is a scam and can be done through a CPA for a fraction of the price. Beware of these scammers. They have in adequate personal trained and they constantly make mistakes at the customers expense.
