Meh.... App is super basic and doesn’t do simple functions ....like set up groups WITHOUT having to manually hold the up/down button on the head rail of the blind/shade. There should be a way to add shades to groups with the app only. As it is now, it’s very cumbersome....I have to go up a ladder (for EVERY SINGLE SHADE!!) any time I want to change or configure a group which is crazy. Upon the initial setup, there should be a way to name/number each shade in the app and from that point be able to configure groups within the app only (no climbing ladders!). Additionally, there is no WIFI but only Bluetooth so there is no ability to operate shades from anywhere other than inside the home. And the Bluetooth range is very short, so in a large room that can be a real problem. The shades work ok (although 4 out of my 12 shades were actually defective from day one!), but the app definitely needs improvement and reconfiguring. Also, as someone else mentioned, there is a bug in the app; when trying to add shades, after adding each one, the app goes to a blank screen and you have to quit and relaunch.
This app is sufficient to open and close my blinds on a schedule. I think it can do more, but I am basically using it to open the blinds in the morning and close them in the evening. One feature I wish it offered was open and close at sunrise and sunset or maybe with an offset from sunrise and sunset. As the season changes, I have to constantly go into the app and adjust the open and close times in the morning and evening. It would be so simple if the app recognized my location and adjusted with the season. Maybe this is too much to ask. Overall, I'm grateful to have this app because it allows me to adjust the blinds even when I am not home and I can create the illusion of being home while we are on vacation. Also, if the blinds were manual, it would be hard for me to reach them because I would have to climb over the furniture. I really wanted remote control blinds because I just can't reach the blinds easily this window.
I found a new use whatever for this app. It picks up that there are multiple remotes,Including one in a separate room that I don’t want to include in this programming effort. Can’t tell which is which, however. I couldn’t find any way to deprogram a remote and start over.I manually programmed the remote to operate one window under 1. Then, under 2, I programmed it to operate a second window. However, 2 then simultaneously operates both windows. Can’t get it to stop doing that. The app was no use in trying to fix this problem. Update. Somehow I eventually started over. Very carefully following the instructions, I got it to work with 2 remotes. Now works perfectly. The Apple app is of no use. Just use the instructions for the remote.
Very low latency, which creates issues when setting up the favorite position, you have to guess ahead, between pressing the button Save and shades actually stop is about 1-2 secs, annoying. Cannot set the schedule time. I have all dates selected, the popup window shows only a time selection, now is 11pm and i cannot set for 7am, nothing happens when I click Confirm. PLEASE HIRE GOOD DEVELOPERS, Not those cheap ones!!!! And no, i won't call the support, i have no time for this. The app shall pass all QA tests, no idea what product manager allows a buggy app into app store. At least it rolls the shades up and down and pairing was somewhat smooth, not Apple like, but acceptable.
LEVOLOR should have hired someone who knows how to make software apps intuitive or at the very least useable. It was easier to synch the control to the shades by just using the control and skipping this app. It took me a few days with a lot of trial and error to figure out how to get all three shades to respond to the same schedule. For some reason “group” means single shade in the app. I think. There are 6 boxes positioned like the buttons on the controls. They come with the names “group 1”, “group 2” etc. Should they be groups? I don’t know. I finally got it set up so each “group” is an individual shade to match my control. I got the schedule to work for my first shade but it took a few days to get the program to do all three. We had running bets on how many shades would be closed when we got home. We did finally get this to work. Not sure if it’s right, but it works.
I was very surprised to find out there is no Alexa, google home or apple watch integration, but if the remote control is not in the house, or lost, you cant control the blonds without the built in button on them. For the price of these blinds you’d think it would keep up with leaser competing manufacturers. The remote is insanely expensive. Not a good option for people with kids who always misplace remotes. Voice command blinds are very handy to have too. Cant do that here. One star since a wi fi enabled blinds should be able to do this without an expensive remote. Should at least integrate with a hub like smart things which it doesnt.
Motorized, yes. Automated - not so much. Spent thousands on Levolor blinds because they touted scheduling and automation. While that’s true - it’s horribly basic. Essentially, you can “schedule” three positions: up, down, and one favorite. Levolor is also not supported by any integration tools such as voice commands with Alexa or Bond. You can’t set the blinds to go up or down with sunrise or sunset. This is extremely basic given what’s on the market. Regret the purchase and will be outfitting the house with different blinds manufacturer. The app itself is fairly ho-hum. Nothing special. Adding a favorite to the blinds is a bit cumbersome.
I have tried for months to get this app to work with my Levelor cellular blinds. Scheduling doesn’t work. Current schedule shows one room has no blinds schedule to rise or open automatically, yet they rise every morning sometime before six. Another room also has no automatic open/close on the schedule, yet one blind closes at 11:30a and a second blind at noon. I never programed that. I can’t change it on the app’s program because it doesn’t show on the app’s program. Beginning to think my blinds are haunted.
Why is the ‘Confirm’ button on the ‘change schedule’ page no longer working? Since the app doesn’t provide the option to schedule the opening/closing at sunrise/sunset, I have to change the schedule manually as the seasons change. I tried today to schedule a later opening each morning but am unable to click ‘Confirm’ after changing the time. Nothing happens when I press ‘Confirm’. Disappointing.
Until app is invested into, the shades are terrible. Due to a poor functioning app your stuck with the cruddy remote, which defeats the purpose of a “smart” blind. The app is what utilizes the smart features of the blinds so without it, you’re better off saving and skipping the motor powered or if the budget fits, definitely splurge on Serena by Lutron. Their system is flawless and shows they’re dedicated to ensuring all aspects of their blinds plus app work seamlessly. Plus you get so many more features, with pico remotes, capabilities of integrating HomeKit, google, and Alexa. Skip these and buy Serena.
Whenever I go to routine option, the app closes as soon as I click on a shade. I can’t even change the settings anymore. It only allows me to turn shade routine on/off. I’m not sure what happened with the last update. It was working fine for a while.
With so many obvious flaws & short comings with this app why has it been a year and going without an update? LEVOLOR products are not cheap but if it’s a money issue maybe a go fund me campaign could help. After about 6 months my automations I sent set up just grayed out and they don’t work and my remote decided to also just stop and new batteries didn’t help oh and yes the blinds have full charges!! Talk about disappointing!!
This app works great. It is simple to set up and works great. However, other smart home products have sunrise and sunset schedules which is great if you are controlling a product based on outdoor light. Without this setting I have to continue to adjust schedules all year around. Please add this simple feature!
Day light saving time ended today and the programmed schedules executed one hour earlier. I opened each and every schedule and saved it again and the time of the schedule seems to be correct. Another inconvenience is that i cannot disable a schedule without deleting it. Also, when a schedule is deleted, the app hangs and I have to restart it. Wish there was a bitton to enable/disable the schedule.
I have 2 issues I would call nonstarters (app = useless): 1. After setting a schedule, a user cannot click Confirm button when either editing that same schedule or attempting to add a second one (for example, Summer Morning, Summer Evening). Because Confirm is now unresponsive, I have zero use for the scheduling feature Levolor sells its customers on. 2. As a technologist, I know to always first “check all the things”, including wifi and Bluetooth settings, paired remotes, and trying to reinstall apps; however, with the Levolor app they make you run through the full setup again when reinstalling the app. I’m happy with the remote setup so why would I want to start over!? I can’t use Levolor’s key features so this gets a 1 star rating. Please talk to your engineering department and update this app.
Your app is not working properly it can’t recognize when Bluetooth is on and you have to turn the Bluetooth on then off your iphone again and then go into the app then out of the app and back into the app and then it recognizes that it’s connected to Bluetooth on the iOS.I’m using the iPhone software 14.0.1. You might wanna look into it and maybe update the app.
Not only does this product not support voice control, but 50-60% of the time when I open the app on my phone, all the “rooms” are greyed out and I have to hit the back button to go to some “remote dashboard” then click on the room I’m trying to control only to end up in another, nearly identical remote dashboard simply called “Levolor” with the same list of rooms as in the dashboard. Not inclined to stick with this brand if another gets my attention.
Really easy set up of the app with the shades. My only request (or desire, really) would be if the app could be compatible with the Siri Shortcuts so that a voice command could allow one to control the blinds. I think this would really add greater functionality! Or even better... add HomeKit support :)
I love the shades, the scheduler and app could use work
I love my Levolor shades. The only issue I have is that I have scheduled my shades to rise at 7 AM and close at 7 PM, but they are not moving at their scheduled times. They are closing at 4:30 PM. I have no clue about what time they rise. The app could be a bit more user friendly. I hope someone eventually pairs a skill with Alexa for the shades to reset the schedule using verbal commands.
They open when they are not scheduled to open. They also open and close 2-3 hours later than programmed. Such a horrible product! These are the worst blinds out there. They don’t automatically adjust for day light savings time. And they don’t open or close within an hour of that still. How did Levelor miss this most basic feature?
I attempted to pair the remote (which came with no instructions) to the app. My iPhone did not detect a Bluetooth signal, and the pairing failed. It then provides two useless options—search again (which does nothing), or get the device closer to the remote (which clearly doesn’t work). Now, I also see that the app has not been updated in a year… 1 star is overrated.
I purchased Levolore instead of Hunter Douglas because your people said you had an app fully programmable. This app is finding my 6 channel remote but won’t move to complete pairing, and is stuck at hold down the “all button”. Press help and it says “oops”. This is such a waste of an app. Spend some budget on fixing this dang app!!!!! You’ve stole my money, so you have plenty to spare on the app developers.
This app is simple to use and most importantly, works with my blinds. However, we just realized that there is no adjustment for daylight savings time. So, now I have to erase the program I’ve created and create a new one. Kind of tedious to have to do this.
I purchased the better remote just to use the feature to set times to open and close. What I also hoped for was integration with HomeKit or Alexa. Maybe Levelor should consider this add. How about adding features like open and close at sunrise and sunset based upon your location? Just a few suggestions.
Scheduling is lacking so many features such as keeping up with daylight savings time, sunrise and sunset. Seriously, a 12 year old kid learning her first real program beyond Hello World could automatically adjust for daylight savings. Positioning is way too basic, and only allows a single favorite. Levelor, you have seen this app feedback for years, and yet choose to do nothing.
LEVOLOR’s smart home UI/UX is terrible compared to Lutron
Wish LEVOLOR would just take a page from Lutron... The former makes great shutters and blinds but the latter actually makes things work well with Google and Alexa. Don’t mess with this LEVOLOR app... it’s terrible and clunky. Too many workarounds and nothing integrates with your smart home. This app is also buggy and LEVOLOR just asks owners to reinstall the app hoping it fixes all the bugs. Weak.
How do you delete a group from a remote? It's either the app does not support or it is done in a hidden way, tried to find that hard but still no luck.
I love that I can use the App to set custom schedules for my shades . This is ideal for when I'm out of town. I was really happy that I did not need to purchase anything else to get this set up besides the remote.
One star is frankly generous. It’s a miracle this app works at all. You can’t edit schedule times — the confirm button doesn’t work. So you have to delete and re-create schedules to change the time. And given you can’t sync the time to your local sunrise/sunset the times are always changing. Good luck lol.
After adding a shade, the app screen simply goes blank. I have to quit the app. And restart it to continue adding shades. Frustrating, but it seems to work.
Oh, how I wished I would have read the reviews here before spending close to 30K on blinds. Even with this quite basic app, the blinds may be motorized, but no where near being able to called “automated.” This app needs a major update.
Can set multiple schedules and does what it should. Stable thus far. Glad to have the app, just wish I could integrate it with the rest of my HomeKit integrations. Please update!
I’d love to find out if this app is any good, but it will not connect to my remote! I specifically got the remote that it is supposed to pair with and despite doing all the troubleshooting tips, plus reinstalling the app several times, it just won’t see my remote at all.
There are only 3 tips to find a remote: turn on Bluetooth, have new batteries, and be next to remote. I did all of these things numerous times and no remote can be located. I have the most updated OS on iPhone.
