Great idea, needs better execution
I love all the features that this lock promises and think that you will also. I have own the Vision and Secure Pro. There are one or two issues that I think can make the lesser expensive Secure Pro better and a real super star. The Vision’s connectivity is far superior. The Vision has a small modem like device with an antenna that plugs into your modem. The Secure Pro has a wall plug with a device on top of it to communicate to your modem. I never had an issue with the Vision pushing information from the log (who opened/closed and when). The Secure Pro is not real time, it doesn’t give you an instant update on your device like the Vision lock does even though all my settings are the same. This may be important to some that would like to know who entered their property and when. I can fetch the information in the app but I prefer it be pushed to me like with the Vision does and the instructions in the Secure Pro indicate that it would also. Not true. All said this is a great lock with really good security with regards to the pin and finger print technology. I wish that they would upgrade all locks to the modem like device. Connectivity is crucial for any device to be considered “smart”.

Flawless until it wasn’t
This lock is awesome. Very easily programable for fingerprints, codes, temporary codes, set times to leave unlocked, etc. Keeps logs of who uses it and when. It would be great if they added an NFC feature as well. Worked great until heavy rains came, and then it shut down and left me locked out. Despite knowing my batteries in it were good, I decided to try to use the emergency jump start feature. When I wiped off the emergency jump start electrodes that were dripping wet, she sprang to life. Maybe engineers ought to work on preventing this from happening on future models? From now on, I’m going to have to carry a spare key with me, just in case.

Needs Practical Solutions and Interface Upgrade
I purchased two lockly vision locks for my business; to be used inside of a building. I used to have the August lock, which I loved, with the exception that they did not have the video doorbell readily available for purchased and as a result I had to use my Ring for video doorbell. Bought the lockly thinking it would be a GAMECHANGER...it has fallen short of that. It’s not horrible, it’s just not what it should be for the cost (and I don’t usually complain about cost). The app doesn’t allow your trusted users to be able to get notified someone is at the door. My receptionist needs to see who’s at the door, I don’t. Either they need a feature to assign admin privileges to two or more people or just allow the trusted users to access lock, unlock, speak to visitors and receive notifications of the same. Lastly, the interface. Far be it for me to say I know what it takes to design an app interface but goooooooooodness, the app looks like someone who is newly trained created the layout, colors, fonts and mapping. It just doesn’t give you the feel of user friendly. I hope they fix the issue re allowing others to unlock the door. Everything else I can deal with. 🙄

Lock is great, app needs work
I’ve had this lock for over a year, and it has been a lifesaver. However, the app is awful. It had caused so much frustration and stress in my life. I have to delete the lock and reinstall the lock many times during the month for it to refresh. The log almost never works. Notifications will randomly shut off and I’ll have to delete the lock and reinstall it. I’ve emailed multiple times and they always blame it on my Wi-Fi. I pay for the highest and fastest Wi-Fi there is, with an extender right next to the lock, and nothing else connected in that area of my home struggles, except for this lock and it’s app. My ring camera/doorbell and my front porch camera all work with ease. I can rarely unlock the door from the app. It rarely connects. I have teenagers home alone, and I like the notifications of when my door opens, in case they have friends over or leave the house. But notifications will just stop randomly and then I have no idea when the door opens or if it’s locked. Etc. This is what I paid $300 to get the lock for. Convenience, peace of mind, security…. And I don’t feel any of these things.

Difficult setup, functionality is hit or miss
For as challenging as the install is, it hardly seems worth it. For starters, the fingerprint reader requires expert precision to unlock - I’ve finally mastered finger placement to get it right every time, but for awhile it was pretty frustrating. Second, sometimes the log is terrifyingly inaccurate. I was having an issue where I kept noticing my physical lock was unlocked, but had never received a notification of the door being unlocked. Yikes. On checking the log, there’s no notification for days but I know that I’ve locked and unlocked the door in recent days. There’s a ton of functionality which makes it really flexible, but good grief, if you can’t get the very basics correct, it doesn’t matter much. The camera is also not great quality, which makes the whole thing a really expensive mid-level doorbell camera. I bought less than a year ago but I’ll probably end up replacing it soon.

Did not work for the age sector most needed
Got this for my 87 year old mother. The biometrics worked great for me and her grand daughter. For my mom it was more difficult to set up the mapping of her finger print. It would not open repeatedly on the first set up for both thumbs and index fingers I deleted and repeated the process twice with only minimal improvement. We were both frustrated and I think she felt like she was doing something wrong. She wasn’t. I scoured the Q&A section to find that some fingerprints won’t work if there is not band interruptions/ connections with other bands (non touching circulars) or for some of the elderly whose prints may have faded. It would have been great and appropriate for the company to put this on their label up front. This is a known issue and we wasted great time and effort trying to figure this out. If I had left this in, she would have been at great risk of being locked out many times. Get your labeling FIXED for those most vulnerable!!! You know this is happening with your product and I am very disappointed!!

Nice lock hardware. Crappy software.
The app software for these locks is problematic and seems to be thrown together as an afterthought. I seriously wonder if they outsourced it to some cheap “devs-for-hire” body shop to save a few bucks. Sadly, many companies will engineer a great product, then cheap out on the most important part. The part the user touches, the UI. Lockly seems to have done this. New version release notes are awful and super vague, usually only saying the mysterious “bug fixes” which is a total cop out. How is the user supposed to know if their particular issue has been fixed or not? They can’t. Evidently, the Lockly dev team want’s to keep users in the dark, which is simply the wrong way to market a product in 2021, especially one that claims to be on the cutting edge of technology. Either there are serious security flaws being fixed that they want to keep under wraps, or the dev team is simply super slack at documentation. Either way, it’s a problem.

Nothing but trouble.
We are tech-savvy people, yet it took multiple calls with customer service to get the thing to work. After lots of back-and-forth with customer service, it was deemed malfunctioning and we had to purchase a new one, then mail back the broken one before getting a credit for the replacement. Another round of back and forth with CS to get it working. Five months later it stopped logging activity. Now, nine months later, it won’t pair with the app. The app indicates there should be a software update, but when trying to update it says we’ve already got the most recent version. It won’t reset. Customer service is only available during business hours, which is inconvenient to say the least when you work full time and need to be next to the lock to troubleshoot. At this point, the only way to unlock the door is manually with the key. Most expensive, headache inducing manual lock ever. We are now fighting to return it for a refund.

Not a happy customer
We bought this lock because of the features and the convenience it offered. It took 8 AA batteries to operate. No big deal, except the batteries needed to be replaced after two weeks. I thought, since batteries were included, maybe they were used, so I put some brand new batteries in there. After a month, the same thing. Batteries were low. Is this a joke? The other thing that was annoying is my phone could never connect to it. Always having issues connecting. I had to be right next to the unit for the app to connect. Finally, the doorbell on it would randomly ring for no reason. It started ringing at 10pm one night. Dogs are barking, kids are freakin out. Guess what? Nobody’s there. What the heck? Are we being haunted? Nope, just a defective lock. A promise of features, none of which worked. The only feature that worked was the fingerprint feature. Either way, not worth the price tag for all of the frustration it caused.

Great support
My lock is now two years old. Batteries died (my fault, not paying attention). Somehow that blew the locks brains. Clarris (sp?) at Lockly support was great. She worked to diagnose the problem but was unable to get it working. She promptly ordered a replacement. Full disclosure. Lockly first sent the wrong color, then the reorder took too long. Anyway, I installed the new lock today. And because the process for replacing a lock is a bit different from installing a new one, I had a couple questions. Clarris came through again. So, I love the lock. And although I had some trouble prematurely, support was great. As a retired IT guy I appreciate good support as much as I appreciate a quality product. Good support can make up for a few glitches.

Decent but has some flaws
I really love the idea of the Lockly smart lock. The hardware itself has some great features but unfortunately, the software does not live up to the hardware. The integration with google has some issues and it will not always return the correct status of the lock and will not always execute the command given via google assistant. The secure bridge WiFi hub is not great and the response time when opening the app is slow by modern standards. Suspect this is also to blame for the poor integration with Google I’d love to see these issues fixed and have more robust support for use with google home, HomeKit, IFTT, etc. Until that happens, this product will continue to have a great hardware design that is roughy down by mediocre software.

Mediocre lock DO NOT BUY
I purchased this lock based on noise, looks, and some reviews. I like the lock, and the simplicity of the system. Where I do not like is that it does not stay connected to the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth when I need it. If you were looking for a system that continually is on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth DO NOT by the system. You can reset the system and it will be good for a few weeks. You can call for customer service, and they will tell you to reset the system. You can delete it from your phone and reinstall it or you can use the lock without any apps on the phone. If you want a normal lock without notifications than this is the lock for you. This is NOT the reason why I purchased the system.

To Expensive to Have So Many Issues
I loved the idea of this new locking technology. However, from the beginning I had way to many issues: Registration Process: Downloaded the app, began my registration, received the 6 digit pin and it didn’t work. Went through this for 12-15 times. Finally I went to their troubleshooting website, registered and all was fine. You must register online before using the app. The App: Downloaded the app, completely finished the installation and connection to WiFi, easy, very easy. However, when I closed the app and launched it again, I couldn’t see the lock I just spent 10-15mins to instal on my app. I still received alerts if for was open/closed, locked/unlocked etc. However, I wasn’t able to see my profile, activity log, the ability to lock and unlock door (without s/o ringing the bell). Unlike other video door locks, activity for motion isn’t instant, or when someone passes your door, it’s only when the bell is rung that video begins to record. Minus those minor bugs, this lock is awesome.

Overall good, but some glitches.
Generally works well, but two major issues in my opinion. 1. The app has a wifi/bluetooth “toggle” so the phone can communicate either way. When the app is opened and the toggle is on wifi, it first looks for the lock on the Bluetooth connection, and then gives a Bluetooth timeout error. You then refresh, and it finally goes on wifi. 2. If the lock is unlocked or locked manually, the app does not update, so if the user is away and someone turns the lock, the app will not show the current status. I had a Smartthings hub with a Schlage lock, and the app updated each time the lock was changed manually. To Lockly: Please fix this. Thanks.

Long-time customer, happy with 3 locks
I did a lot of research on interoperability with smart home apps and overall features. Fingerprint option is a big hit in my house since it’s easy to add, revoke and works flawlessly and makes life simpler. I have secure links and door sensor (built-in and external) and it all works seamlessly in the app. Firmware upgrade reminder/alerting is a practical feature as well. I’ve installed and reinstalled the locks myself and I’m not the most handy person. I absolutely adore the step by step install app (not this one, but worth mentioning) since I forgot a step once and it was easy enough to catch by stepping through the wizard. The main tricky part about install is that you have to have the holes bored and the opening in the door jam fit just right. Note that if your door sticks your battery may drain more quickly (I had that on an old rotten door frame that wasn’t aligned properly - with rechargeable batteries it was barely a nuisance).

Great hardware, but app is a bit inadequate
*Updated: Customer support has been exceptional in listening to issues with the software. I’m sure it will improve dramatically over time, if you can wait.* This lock has well made hardware with excellent fingerprint reading, but the software is a bit inadequate. You can’t restrict, say a house cleaner, to MWF 6AM-6PM. You’re also limited to eight users - everyone else must use expiring codes. If you buy a few locks for your house, each must be programmed individually. They don’t share a common user portfolio. Same with fingerprints. You’ll need to walk people to every lock. This company is relatively new on the scene, and a one to watch. I’ve owned several other Wi-Fi locks in the past, but the Lockly hardware is the best.

Great idea terrible execution
I love what the app promises... especially the remote access codes for temporary visitors. The problem is that almost nothing works as advertised. The lock refuses to work with phones unless they’re Bluetooth paired, it takes forever to sync, and most of the time it comes back with “poor internet connection” as though I’m connected with two soup cans and a string instead of 5G and a gigabit fiber line. I ultimately had to add my temporary guest’s fingerprint and show them where the hardware key is hidden just in case they can’t get in. I am NOT pleased with having spent almost $250 on this thing, although the fingerprint stuff seems solid enough to trust. The app and lock firmware need some serious QA and upgrade before I would consider upping my score.

What if…?
What if TWO people own a home, and your $400 lock, and BOTH of them (crazy, right?) would like to use the lock’s every feature? You know, kinda like they would both like to use the full array of clever features that they BOTH paid for? Well, they would be outta luck because y’all only allow for one admin. Sorry, but that’s dumb. It’s pretty pricey, two homeowners shouldn’t have to flip a coin to see who gets to use the camera function when your much less expensive competitors had the foresight to allow for that. Step it up- it’s a $400 dollar lock only one person can access the camera on. 🙄

App Review
So far i have 2 complaints about this application. 1. The “Log” feature works well when logging “locked/unlocked” statuses, but it would be a nice addition if it would log when a door was opened or closed especially when you pay $75 for a wifi hub/sensor. 2. In regards to the door sensor, the notifications of when a door has been opened or closed are either not present or very delayed. I would like to know immediately when a door was opened/closed.

Good lock, App is crap
The Wifi part is not great but we’ve been able to lock and unlock as well as a few other minor operations. The Bluetooth connectivity is a waste. Standing right next to it or a few feet away, it always says Bluetooth Timed out. None of my other devices have an issue. Further, I have set the Auto lock timer for 20 seconds and sometimes it locks in 2 seconds. Not sure if it’s the app or the lock on that. I tried to run an update through Wifi thinking that it might help the Bluetooth but it said to connect with Bluetooth. So how do you download an update to fix a connection issue if you have to do it with what is broken?

Amazing Lock and App
I purchased the new Vision at Home Depot and it has been an amazing experience. It is very handy to have both a smart lock and video doorbell in one. The setup was very easy and only took about 20 mins. It was very cool to my neighbor come to the front door and let them in right from the App. The App is very easy to use as well and it was very helpful to use the BILT App as well to do a step by step video to help me through the installation. It was great to be able to setup fingerprints for my family as well. Great experience and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Just what I needed
I just installed the lock, and there were no problems whatsoever. As an aside, my office building has every door with a Schlage keypad lock, to control access to different rooms to authorized personnel. I needed a lock that would notify me when the main door was opened or whether or not it was locked and closed. I also wanted to keep a log of who was coming and going out of the main door. I used another product, that failed miserably. Thus far everything seems to be working exactly the way that I needed to. I’m very excited to see if it continues to wow...

Honestly it is what you get for that price. Totally disappointed, today I had to drive 40 miles to go to get this product, just to found out that it needed to be returned because it didn’t worked. And here I am with the second one (had to drive again) and still not working properly, it has a lack of service on the app, and the unit from the inside of the house it doesn't turn around to lock the house, also the Bluetooth connection is not immediate and you have to wait, imagine if you have an emergency! And they sell the wifi bridge for another $80. They have their own app and instructions are very clear, creating an account was really easy and secure, and was packed well, that was what I liked but the expected efficiency from product was not there.

Bad customer service
The lock access history does not refresh in real time and generally takes up to several hours. The app settings are not well-designed and there are seemingly duplicate options with the exact same description. A widget was advertised which is completely absent, most likely unavailable because the developers haven’t kept up with iOS updates; this gives me little hope that the lock will become compatible with HomeKit. Regarding the lack of a widget, it took me four hours to get on the phone with someone who had no information, and although a follow-up was promised, one never came. I had higher hopes based on other reviews.

Good idea, poor execution. Getting it to work is tough
The concept for the app and its utilities is sound, but getting it to work on my iPhone has been a pain. I was able to set it up on my iPad easily but setting it up on my iPad has proven impossible. It will let me unlock and lock the door but not see the camera. I have tried deleting the app and adding it back but the same issues keeping happening. It seems like the app is not really worked through. It should be easier to use and more stable. I am thinking about returning the lock and buying a different manufacturer’s model.

Nice lock. Bad support
Ok so my securelink gateway is 9 feet from my router. With no obstructions. Yet can’t connect via Wi-Fi 95% of the time. These gateways they supply are crap. I have same issue with Ttlock device. Why they have to have their own special gateway with no range is beyond me. After emails back and forth no solution given. They said unplug and did that. Reset and did that. Nothing works. I bought this for my rental property in another country and lol. I can’t do anything with this. Guess should of bought more reputable like August. Sorry. Unless this for use at your home and you can connect via Bluetooth. Don’t buy

Awesome Security door lock
This is one awesome security Door lock. The camera view is superior allowing you to have a good clear wide view , the keyless keypad combination number rotate is a great plus the 2-way communication allowing you to have dialogue with whom ever is at your front door. The best part is it’s self locking yes if you forget to lock your door it will lock itself within several seconds. Now that’s a great security door lock.

I regret buying this
App is the worst in all aspects. The app/lock as it is doesn’t connect fast when you want to use the camera. I had the Ring one before with same internet provider and that thing was amazing compared with this one. Camera resolution is really bad and at night it is useless. Even though I have in the app limited for notifications, the app keep showing all the activity for the week. I cleared that, read them all and at the first new activity it shows all the activity added up as no read notifications. I’ve tried all the settings for notifications but any work well.

Best smart lock so far
The usability of this lock system is by far the best I have used so far. The capabilities are great. The security features are reassuring. The wi fi adapter location is one issue that I feel should get an upgrade and/or should be sold with all units. Not a major issue and may be a none issue all together as I haven’t inquired if it is required during the use of the lock or only for setup. 🤔

They wanted my review
I was in the app and this was forced open on me without my permission. So I will give my unasked if I wanted to review. The door lock is 2 feet away from both lockly router and my home router and it is hit or miss. The camera is point up at the ceiling and no way to point it down, I asked. The batteries doesn’t last long, we hardly use the front door because of the hit or miss on the app connecting to the lock we come in through the garage now. The good point of lockly is that you can only lock the door with Alexa. If I had know now what I didn’t know then I wouldn’t buy the lock and downloaded this app

Difficulty connecting
We have two locks in our rental unit in another state. One works fine. However, the other one continues to deny us remote access and we can not add codes remotely. (We do have a few standby codes for emergency) nothing else has changed, the Wi-Fi is connecting fine, short of traveling thousand miles, and resetting it, we are at a loss to figure this out at the current time. I gave it three stars for its functionality and ease when it does work. Will revisit this review once we figure it out.

The app has issues
The actual lock itself is amazing. However, the app has some issues that make it frustrating to use. There are a lot of times when the app ‘times out’ and you’ll have just clicked on it to be able to unlock the door. Sometimes it says I’m too far away for it to work even if I’m standing right next to it. To be clear, it’s the app that has the issues. I actually hate using the app but that’s the main way I interact with the lock and the main reason I bought this lock. Honestly. The app is trash.

Frustrating
I would say it’s great if I could get the app to work. Add a device, get confirmation, tells me you didn’t add a device. Trying to set up fingerprint, I figured out you have to go to the app. Directions say go to access management. I can’t find that ANYWHERE in the app. Notifies me i have someone at the door, ( even though I don’t have a device but I apparently do) so, ok I do I can see them, how do you talk to them? The app says I don’t have a device! Very frustrated. Called help line I got voicemail. Emailed and absolutely no reply. I want it to work but I may have to return it. I don’t like messing with apps that don’t work.

How about adding a temporary offline.
In cases where I or others want the door open for more than the auto-lock time (mine is 5 min). There should be a temporary offline button on app to disable the auto lock function, so in that same duration when the door is not closed yet, the bar will not swing out and potentially be damaged when people swing the door with the bar out.

Terrible App!
The App is just terrible! The hardware cost too much for such a horrible software! I regret buying this! I unfortunately can’t take it back as it’s too late to do so. I was initially really excited to have this. The App does not work — it constantly loses connection and ask me to connect via Bluetooth which often does not work! The worst part is the hardware! I have to change the batteries every week! It takes 8 batteries! So, not only is the app very unstable the hardware itself is terrible — camera quality is really bad + having to change batteries every week! I expected better given the price tag!

I have the pro version for about 5 years now. They work but there are issues. The connection between the lock and the hub constantly drops. I have to reconnect every 1-2 weeks. Terrible. The app also does not allow you to go back and change the start and end time once you done. I like the fingerprint feature a lot. Please update your app to allow changing time.

Worst Wi-Fi Connection Ever
I have never been able to rely on the Wi-Fi connectivity on this app. Standing right where the lock is, it takes a couple of tries to get it to connect with the app. Now I’m away from home and desperately need access to my lock, and I can instead look at a horribly rendered loading indicator. For the build quality of the lock, it amuses me how they don’t care about the app and it’s performance. Not sure who is rating this app > 4*, but this app isn’t a 3* app even in 2010

It use to work well
I’ve had this lock on my vacation rental since 2021. I’ve never been able to get the finger print to work but the app use to work well. In the past 6 months it’s been awful, idk if they did an update that messed it up but I’m constantly having to ask maintenance or a neighbor to pull the Wi-Fi extender out of the outlet and reinstall it so the app will work. It’s a shame because the lock works well if you are in person but I need it to work from states away. Please come out with a fix for this.

This is the worst smart lock I’ve ever used!
This thing is the biggest piece of crap. Seriously, I’ve been using it for over two years now and it’s just terrible. You have to buy an extra component which has to be ridiculously close to the lock in order to connect it to the internet and there’s always a connection error. So much so that I’m actually surprised on the rare occasions that it just connects the first time. I had a Kwikset before this and it was the best and easiest lock to use. Don’t buy this garbage lock!

Widget issues
The app itself seems to work great and I’m pleased with the lock so far. The widgets are a real issue. They do not show in the widget menu, the app does not appear to have shortcut integration and I’m honestly tired of opening my phone to unlock the door when my hands are full. I’m hoping the developer will help resolve this issue as I really see this as a great product if they can get these fixes in place.

The quick unlock widget on the iPhone iOS does not work well. It use to unlock quickly but now it just brings me to the app. Most of the time it takes a long time for the widget and app to connect to the lock. I have the WiFi bridge/communication device near the lock so distance is not the issue. Hopefully this gets resolved soon with an app update.

Widget not available despite being “on”
Despite turning the widget “on” in the app, and restarting the phone numerous times, when I go to add the LOCKLY widget in iOS it simply does not appear in the list of available widgets. I contacted support explaining this in detail and they replied with a canned response pointing me to the video on how one should be able to do it. In other words, no help at all. Figured leaving a 3★ review might be seen by them.

This app is awesome!
Super easy to use, and very straight forward. Though it is lacking some features: My wish list: -User Accounts (allow multiple users to manage the locks) -Share locks with other users -Scheduling! I need my lock to be open during work hours and to lock itself at night! This would be AWESOME! -Ability to leave the lock unlocked... you can do this by disabling the autolock feature, but if it was more straightforward id be really happy! If i think of more as i continue to use the app i will add another review! Overall it is still awesome though!

Garbage
This app. This device. All garbage. Not the easiest to install nor is the setup. If I would’ve known how much of a headache and how horrible this app is I would’ve never spent $400 on this piece of crap. Not to mention the almost :60 delay of being notified when someone rings the bell or no notification at all. Also, the video never plays, and yes I have plenty of storage on the memory card. When the app shows a video it’s from two days ago and doesn’t even play nor is the time of the video! Absolute garbage do not buy this item!!!!

Battery munger
We purchased this lock with hopes it would be awesome, alas it is not. It drains the batteries so quickly. The fact that it uses eight is ridiculous! The doorbell is always delayed. I get notifications that someone is at my door a minute or two after the fact and by that point I’ve missed the visitor. I can never really connect to the settings to update or make any changes because it always times out. I won’t be purchasing this product again.
