This app is better then magnifier for iPad but it’s a four star for me because I can’t record anything. If there is a recording thing, the color won’t show up. I know that because I send the colorful pictures to my older sister and the color didn’t show up. Fix that to. Please fix this app. I can’t do no recording to send to my sister. The colors won’t show and I can’t show my sis, only if..she comes. Am Selena and my older sis is willow and we love this app. I can see closer things now. Our foster daughter Layla wants to record so please fix it, here’s cookies for your hard work🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪. If my name is weird, that’s Layla because this is her iPad. Bye!! 😋
Photo feature made for zooming in further (not for taking pics)
I’ve been legally blind all my life (blue cone achromatopsia) and the last few years I’ve had fairly large progressive vision loss. Thankfully I’ve had this app all those years on iPad and iPhone and it helps significantly. The filters let me change things so that I can see many things I’d miss. The negative reviews don’t seem to understand what the picture function is for - it’s so that you zoom into the picture even further. I love this feature as I have very little vision; I generally take the pic on my iPad after zoom far as can go then zoom in further. If they saved to the camera I’d have no storage because it would be filled with pics I needed 1 time to see something.
I am legally blind with no vision in my right eye. This tool enables me to do things like following instructions for building models with LEGO. Turning on the light significantly helps bring out the colors. Only trouble is, after a while, my phone heats up enough to start reducing my display’s brightness to as low as 50%. I have an XS Max. Its OLED display could hardly produce a better picture, if only it would remain as bright as I want it, even while using a demanding application, such as this one.
When you take a picture, it doesn’t save the filter to the picture, so what’s the point of the picture? And, I made it so that it shows both cameras, but when I go and turn the filter off, it gives it this reddish orangish tone to it, but down at the bottom where it give you the preview for what the filters look like, it’s fine, and it does this for both cameras. The invert filter is too high in brightness because it’s not very dark or light in my room, but it makes it so that its just an off-white so I can’t see anything. I tried restarting my iPad for this problem but it doesn’t do anything. Make an update for this so that it doesn’t do this anymore. It’s really annoying.
So I noticed this app in my App Library awhile ago when I updated to iOS 15.4. I was interested in it, so I clicked on it. It did not respond. It was just blank for literally one second, then went back to my Home Screen. I’ve tried looking up how to fix this, and I’ve seen multiple videos telling me to go to go to settings>accessibility>magnifier>on. I tried that, but the magnifier option isn’t there. I don’t know if it has something to do with my camera app, because my back camera doesn’t work, unless it’s a 2x zoom. Can somebody help me with my problem? An Apple employee or someone that knows tech problems like this?
This is the best magnifying app I’ve found yet. I do have two issues… 1) taking a snap shot doesn’t save to the photos app, 2) I noticed that the microphone turns on every time I launch the Magnifier app, and there’s no way to disable it in the microphone privacy settings (at least I think the green light by the WiFi and cell indicators at top right is the microphone indicator). I don’t think there’s a good reason for Magnifier to access the microphone.
Picture saved as normal camera would. Not close up.
I use the power and home button simultaneously to take a screen shot. Press "Done" and "Save to Photos" and there you have it. Would be more convenient to have a save to photos that saves a screenshot automatically, the current option is not helpful.
Amazing clarity for a mobile app with no external parts needed needed
I think it's amazing. Honestly, there are some magnifying apps that you actually need an additional piece externally to get this kind of quality. And anybody using iPhone if you want to record use your screen recording button, it works the same and all the same color that you got.
It was great at first until all the settings changed, and I could never get the flashlight back. I can never get the zoom back things kept disappearing. I put the flashlight back in the queue to work and it won’t come on. It’s dead, my situation is pretty serious. I have a beetle infestation so I have to see if the exterminator did his job or not and this is not helpful. It’s very annoying at a time like this to have the flashlight be disabled and just go dead.
I accidentally clicked on a phishing link through a discord server for Shiba Inu coin. This camera app opened, I took a pic of my license and took a selfie. After verifying I had a NFT stolen from my OpenSea account. Also, this app was hiding in the background of my iPhone. I went through my phone with Apple support deleting any old apps. It wasn’t until my phone was on the Home Screen and I swiped to the App Library and I saw the Magnifier logo but it was not on my Home Screen. At which time I deleted the app. Also let it be known I did not download the app, the phishing link did it automatically.
This app has excellent magnification capability. I was able to remove a very small sliver of a splinter that I could not see at first. The magnification app allowed me to see it and remove the splinter perfectly. There would’ve been no chance to do so without the use of this app.
This is a great magnifier though it could use some more quality’s to make it more interesting. You can zoom up very, very close to something and if you wait a second it comes out clear. Totally recommend it.
There was already an option in control center, now I have another app wasting space!
There was already a option to add the magnifier in the control center menu in settings, which provided the same function as this app. Why add a physical app icon for a feature that has been included with iOS and iPadOS for a while now and not even giving me the option to delete it without disabling the magnifier entirely. Not the end of the world but Kinda annoying. rant over, Ray P.s iOS 15 is pretty solid though, so far so good!
I use this app a lot. It would be great if a widget could be developed for the lock screen. There are times when I’m in the grocery store and need the magnifying glass to read the fine print on products and I’m fumbling with my phone to open the app.
The filters are hard to use and very confusing. If you mess up you have to start over. The measure and magnifying glass are perfect!! If you need to measure something or magnify something quickly. This app is not for you, it takes very long to work and is very confusing. You need your time to understand this app. But it works like a charm!! Hope this helps you!!!😊😊
Why would you even come out with this app. When I downloaded the new upgrade I thought it was a bug. Out of the three camera receptors you couldn’t put a magnifying feature on one of them. Now you gotta open this ridiculous app that doesn’t make any sense, filters are trash, doesn’t focus, and you can’t even zoom until after you take the photo if you want it to be clear. So I guess using it as a magnifying device is out the window. Oh and to top it. IT DOESN'T EVEN SAVE TO PHOTOS.. wasted a bunch of time taking photos, saved them, and they’re no where to be found so make sure you assign them to a folder. Right cause the app deletes them as soon as you exit. Sorry apple, really sucked on this one.
So, it’s a magnifier. Straightforward. But there isn’t an app icon for it (at least to my knowledge, and I make shortcuts often, so…) which makes it feel almost impossible to know about it’s existence. So…uh…yeah UPDATE: THERES AN APP ICON
At first I thought, “there’s no point you can do this and more with regular camera” but the it is different. It helps people with bad eyesight to experience the world around them.
Invaluable app many users have no idea exists on their iPhone. Set it up for triple-click power button access. Very useful and of course it’s free, no ads and junk, because it’s a system app.
Apparently got downloaded automatically via pop up ad, it doesn’t appear on your list of apps and you can do anything with it. It apparently spies on your info and data, can and will steal your accounts and info. To delete it, just swipe to the right where all your apps are listed and delete by hovering over it. I’ve tried reporting it to apple already.
Why even have colored filters available if this app doesn’t have the capability to save them? I am able to save the images I take from this magnifier, but they save as the original colors. So annoying. I am a digital/graphic artist and would like to save the images that are FILTERED. Can anyone advise how to do this? Without saving the images I want in the cool, filtered colors, this app is WORTHLESS to me. So sad!
Honestly it's a really good app it's just that when I try to take a picture the graphics are bad and crappy but I will use it whenever I don't know what something is from the distance and I feel like not getting up to see what it is so I will use it
This is the best kept Seck I have found on my iPad/iPhone to date! Looks like this app is made by Apple. It works so well! No more squinting for me man this is awesome, so awesome I wonder why they’re not more views so spread the words spread the love of my friend.
I haven’t used this lately and I’m not really hundred percent your face very accurate I would like an email back from you please nobody like you get it reviewed at 12.8%
This was downloaded on my phone without my knowledge and I don’t know how, when or why. From other reviews apparently this also tracks and steals information. The fact that it hides and isn’t on any screen except the far slide over that’s a sign of bad intentions. I will keep an eye out for this coming back on my phone but will continue to delete it.
but its very good hahahahahahahaha 𝓢𝓞 𝓖𝓞𝓞𝓓 Ф¤Ď Ф¤Ď Ф¤¤¤¤¤¤¤Ď vεяү 𝔾𝕆𝕆𝕆𝕆𝕆𝔻 after I got a software update on my iPhone it like RANDOMLY CAME but I tried it and it’s good Some people said “it steals data” but how does it steal data and even if it does it keeps it private
Hi, I’m new to this product. I never used it before. But I don’t know why I gave it 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Maybe it’s because there’s no adds!🤣😂🆒 anyway, this is kinda cool!
We have noticed how our iPhone 14 Pro’s get so hot that the phone will shutdown while using this app and having it plugged up to charge at the same time. At first I thought it was just my wife’s phone but my phone also gets hot to the touch. Then I saw in the reviews that others also have this problem.
I like that I can goof around with the filters when I am bored. But why don’t the filters stay when I save them to my photos? It would be great if you could fix that one little detail! Thanks!
I’ve had this app on my iPhone 8 and now iPhone 13. It worked on the 8 fantastically. Now on my 13, nothing. Open it up and blank screen. I would hope the developers or app monitors would fix this problem and, answer my concerns.
This app was offloaded when I select the button to download it again it does nothing! This is one of the apps I use the most because I have a very hard time seeing things. Please fix!
IOS 18.0 update now don’t detect and goes black screen!!!
Did the new IOS 18.0 update now it don’t detect and goes black screen!!! Filters can’t be used either as well as any other features. You set it up how you like it and it don’t work at all!!! Would’ve gave it 0 stars but it won’t let me do that either haha
I looked at the App privacy report, and I see that Magnifier activated the camera twice on Tuesday. I didn’t do that. Explanation? Background: I just returned from a long stint in a country categorised as a “hybrid regime,” and I may have been hacked. Or, it has another explanation. Apple, can you reply?
This looks so cool from the outside of the app, but when I tried to use it, it wouldn’t work and gave me a bad headache, also I have a find the one that doesn’t fit: 😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕🙁😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕 (This Looks impossible but Actually it is possible, hint: look at the mouths on 2nd row)
I needed a magnifying glass and couldn’t find the one for my iPhone. Added this and used once. Not only did the ads continuously pop up and interfere with my ability to use the app, but one was sexually offensive. I completed my use of the magnifier and then deleted the app.
Hey apple! I love this new iPad app. I even used it eating breakfast!! The INVERTED filter looks pretty much like the ChromeOS high contrast thingy. The WHITE ON BLUE filter is too cool, man! And the zooming in and out? Perfect for this app.
Ok so there is a way to flip the camera. But it tells you to drag it to the top of the screen but every time I try it just does not move so I think there should definitely be an easier way to do that 😖😣
I don’t know why they can’t get these magnifying apps to work right. My camera app will get a decent picture at a bit bigger size but all these garbage mag apps are the same. Nothing but a terrible blurry picture unless same size as what I’m looking at. Smh
