I like this app to keep track of mowing information. I think this app could be better if they included other options instead of just mowing. For instance, I think you should be able to choose an option for why you’re running your tractor. Such as lawn maintenance (spreading seed/fertilizer , thatching, raking/sweeping, aeration, brush removal, or any other fun chores). Another option for winter would be nice (snow blowing/plowing). I find myself doing all these with my tractor but have no way of distinguishing what was done at what times. It would be nice to be able to keep track of when I seeded last or fertilized. I know I’m not mowing in the winter and am doing snow blowing, but that’s the only option I have to keep track of tractor hours. Other than the slight inconvenience of not being able to distinguish between tasks, the app is pretty great. It saved me one day as I thought I turned the key all the way off, but just left it turned enough that it was still “on”. That could’ve drained my battery if I didn’t get the notification as I was attempting to close the app without turning the key all the way off.
I got my tractor this spring and have used this app religiously. Everything was fine until I decided to upgrade my old iPhone XR to an iPhone 13. They just pushed the iOS 15 to my phone and boom! The app crashes every time I try to mow now. I had enjoyed sending pictures of my mows to my friends, and even joked that I got a mowing achievement badge when I had mowed 25 acres. The machine hours function was very helpful as well as the maintenance tips. Unfortunately, without being able to track the mow, this app will be almost useless until updated to be compatible with the latest iOS.
I purchased the added feature on my brand new E130 to be able to communicate with this app. The reality is the machine only tells the app the current run-time hours, and that’s it! The rest of the features of this app are simply fluff - basically useless. My machine needed grease lubrication at 8 hours. So, at 7 hours the machine started flashing “service” and “lubricate”. Great, right? Well the lubrication is finished and there is no way for the app to tell the machine! So, the machine continues to flash “service” and “lubricate”. Point is, there is no intelligence between the machine and the app. Therefore, the $100 bucks, or so, that I spent for the added hardware on the machine serves no real function. Don’t waste your money. Lastly, through the app, you are able to contact the app creators. Well I wrote to them about this condition. Twice. No response.
This is a decent app. It tracks total time per mow, and estimates the covered acreage as well as your average speed. The tracks are not very accurate, but they are decent enough to figure out what pattern you used last time. September 24, 2021: The app does not work with iOS 15.0. When tapping the button to begin mowing, the app freezes and then crashes. Tried closing out of the app and also restarting the phone - does not work.
I rated this app a 4 because it is off a little bit and when I mow in most spots I don’t miss much but when I look at My phone I see that it shows me I missed spots. So I stopped my John Deere Lawn Mower at looked. I didn’t see a single piece missed where it showed. It would also be nice if you can do full screen when you mow so then I can mount My phone on My Mower. Once the problem is fixed. Otherwise the app is great. It would be cool if there was a map like (my operations). Hope this helped
It was decent until around the time I upgraded to iOS 15 at which point it immediately crashes when I select the “Mow Now” button. Deletion and reinstalling didn’t resolve the issue. A month plus now since the last update, hopefully a future update will resolve this problem.
I had been using the app all year but when iOS 15 came out and downloaded, the app fails to work properly. It will open but once you click “Mow Now”, it shuts down. I tried deleting and reinstalling (which made me lose all my prior data) and still no luck. It was great keeping track of when and how long each mowing would take but that data appears to be gone now. I was hoping they would have updated the app by now.
This is a near perfect application for me. I have a zTrak Z370R electric mower. It keeps track of my mowing sessions and reports the SoC of the battery, the average amount used per mow, the times per mow as well as the average time. The graphic of the courses run during the mow may or may not be absolutely precise but they work good for me. I find it very useful.
I’ve used this app for 5 seasons tracking my mows. It took the developers a long time to implement the blades engaged feature. If history repeats itself I suspect they will take a long time to fix the iOS 15 incompatibility. Tapping Mow Now crashes the app. Nothing we can do to fix this. Phone reboot? No. Reinstall app? No. It still crashes each and every time you tap Mow Now on iOS 15. Very sad. Seems like there was no testing done against the new OS or certainly the developers would have discovered this too.
Absolutely loved this app. Would give it 5 stars before this week. Used it for 2+ years without fault, but this week it crashes when trying to track the mow after updating to iOS 15. Please fix this John Deere!
The bell does not ring and the whistle will not blow.
This app is worthless as far as I am concerned. The app would not scan my barcode so I entered the ID manually. I received an instant reply that the app does not support my unit. I bought a new Model S120 last month. I heard about the app in an email from JD. It’s okay though. I walk my dog and take out my trash regularly without a phone app to tell me when to do so. I can maintain a lawnmower without an app too.
Hopefully they will update this soon because ever since I updated to iOS 15 it just crashes and I’m missing out on tracking my cuts. Oh well useless for now. Hope for better days tomorrow
Apparently the dev team is lagging behind or John Deere just doesn’t care about technology enough to keep their apps up to date with their product releases. I just bought a brand new Z320M zero turn and it says that the serial number looks valid but wasn’t found. When I search for the model, it can’t find it either. Do better John Deere.
I just bought a brand new John Deere Q865R EFI stand on mower and I was looking forward to adding it to the app to check all maintenance and mow history I can gain from it and it’s not compatible with the app yet? Come on John Deere it’s been out for almost two years now.
It is fun to track your mows to see your patterns and how fast you're mowing. It's useful to take notes on now height and other info you may want to reference, especially if you now multiple lawns. The force touch "Mow Now" feature is a great addition! The "Share Mow" feature could be used to show customers the job is completed or share with your geeky mowing friends. ;) Lots more good things to say about the app if I had more time. Time of day seems to be missing from the mowing stats. Thanks!
I agree with other users. The app crashes when I hit the mow button on the app. I was looking forward to this feature but it doesn’t work. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max
The app is fine for tracking mowing and maintenance but there is so much more you can do that isn’t tracked. Snow blowing, blading work, weed spraying, etc. the app doesn’t allow you to track any of that.
I used the MowerPlus app for months with my iPhone. I enjoyed analyzing my mow times and patterns in order to improve efficiency and grass health. I have a few tricky slopes and an L shaped yard. However…after updating my phone to iOS 15.0.1, the app just shuts down when I press the Mow Now button. Sad face.
Used app in 2020 now it freezes after recent update.
I enjoyed using this app for 2020 season then this month there was an update and now the app is useless. As soon as you open it freezes I deleted it and reinstalled it and all that did was delete all of my 2020 history. Please fix otherwise user be warned it’s pointless.
So I deleted the app due to the problem with it no longer adding my mow time to my equipment total time. Redownloaded the app to find out everything has been wiped clean now. It does not store any data on your phone so now I just lost 2.5 years of mowing that was stored. Along with the documented times I performed service. Please don’t waste your time with this horrible app.
I have used this app for several seasons successfully- would rate it a 4. Now after updating to iOS 15 the app crashes whenever I try to track my mows; I am only able to add mows after I finish mowing. Hopefully will be updated soon!
Don’t waste your money or time. The app does not connect to the new adapter even though that’s what the latest update was for and customer support is nonexistent. Customer support says it’s not even their product! Spend a few bucks on a calendar and just write down when services should be done.
The Home Maintenance Kit the app tells me to buy for my new Model Z515E is wrong, but it got it right for my old GT262… so half way there? The rest of the app looks promising so far, but I haven’t look too closely yet.
Needs new update from your tech… and u guys should have email to submit questions re app every time I try to get help it send me to my dealer… should have button app issue or lawn more issue… just saying love my Green baby still… rare will go up once u guys fix ty.
Disappointed app and expensive equipment module (~$100) are now useless. When the app worked it communicated with the module and provided basic equipment operation and general mowing data. App also provides maintenance recommendations. Mostly the app promotes John Deere.
Useless, thanks I mean no thanks John Deere. Does not store history bought new phone and not history which included mowing and more important maintenance information. I would have expected better but whatever typical of today’s business just do the minumum.
App has become useless for mow tracking as it only crashes since iOS 15 update when you click mow. Was hoping there’d be a fix by now given how nasty of a bug it is.
This app quit working for me after the latest update. When I open the app and select “mow now” the app closes. I have to manually enter each mow after I’ve finished.
Initial connection I get an update box to update connector. Clicking update just closes the app. No data connection. Reinstalled and reconnected everything - still no luck. If anyone has insight please let me k ow but at this point the product is DOA.
Like the previous reviewer I too am having problems with the app on my new iPhone 13. This was a great tool, but now it’s worthless. Hope you get this fixed, quickly.
I tried to install this app and use it for my 1 series sub compact tractor with a 60 inch mower deck. It installed fine. However, it did not work (recognize) my tractor serial number. I ended up deleting the app. App was for IOS 15.
This app was written by amateurs. All it does is crash thirty seconds after launching. My 12 year old daughter could do a far better job. This app is a waste of electricity.
The mower track shows me mowing my drive, roof, the neighbors yard, the street and the golf course. Totally worthless. I’d return the Bluetooth junk for a pack of gum if I could. Company should be ashamed of taking money for this trash. Roger Benson Avoca, Iowa
Doesn’t recognize either of my z series, in “legacy” mode it can provide a picture a zero turn, but it doesn’t provide anything more than manual engine hours.
Can’t believe my 1025r which is 2 years old isn’t supported yet. Not a farmer but mow over 2 acres with my 1025r and do yard work. Guess I’ll wait another 2 years to get the support.
Keep your John Deere riding lawn mower running its best and know how you mow with the John Deere MowerPlus app. Simply scan your lawn tractor’s barcode to get custom information on your equipment. The app helps you determine the best time to mow, communicates expert pre-mow tips, offers maintenance reminders, and provides walk-through guides. Ready to mow? Select “Mow Now”, slide your phone into your pocket, and MowerPlus records your mowing path, total mowing time, as well as speed and coverage data for your mowing session. New for 2019 - Get machine information automatically using the new MowerPlus Smart Connector and MowerPlus Hour Meter (see your local dealer for availability and compatibility). Note: The app supports residential lawn equipment such as 100 Series, S240, X300, X500, X700, Z200 through Z600, and many similarly-sized older products. It does not presently support tractor models numbered 1000 and larger, such as 1025R. The app uses most recent product images. Some variation may exist from prior model years.
