So simple to control lights in each room. My condo is small, so I just have my lights grouped by floor. Makes it so easy to lay in bed and make sure they're all off before going to sleep (I tend to forget my basement lights are on). I installed most of the smart switches myself (probably could have done them all if instructions were better for the 3-ways). They are reliable quality, just like one would expect from a tried and true brand like Leviton. I have some switches, some dimmers, some remotes with smart plugs, and a mix of single pole vs. 3-ways. The 3-ways were the hardest to install due to poorly written directions (even my electrician with 40+ years of experience struggled!). All my outside lights are smart, so I can turn the front lights on from any room if I'm expecting company or dim the light above my back patio when entertaining. They are amazing. My only 2 complaints are that 1.) my light bulbs squeal when they're dimmed (I need to look into why this is) and 2.) I wish Leviton made smart bulbs so I didn't have to use a separate app to dim my ceiling fan lights.
A number of issues with Leviton. First, you have to add each device to the Home app and Leviton app separately (assuming you want to control via Home and get firmware updates via Leviton). This is a pain as it requires two separate steps and does not always work in the Home app the first time around - should be able to add in one and have it appear in both just like Eve, Nanoleaf, Yale/August, etc. Second, devices randomly go no response in Home and (less frequently in the Leviton app) - despite strong WiFi and solid, stable connections on all other WiFi devices. Third, do not join the early access program to use Matter. My 27 switches and dimmers will not connect to HomeKit when a HomePod is the Hub…these are the only devices I have with this issue…work just fine when AppleTV is the Hub but we obviously can’t (at this point) control which Apple device is the hub. You also cannot unenroll from the EAP without deleting your account and starting from scratch with each device. Fourth, the app used to let you decide when to update the firmware, which was great when you did not want to roll buggy EAP firmware to all of your devices. After the app update yesterday, all of my switches and dimmers automatically updated to the buggy EAP matter update that I was trying to avoid. Amazing how smart home can be this dumb in 2024. I’d rather use candles at this point.
Love the automatic switches especially the switch that knows not to turn on if the room is bright enough already. And i like how you can have a daytime brightness and a night time brightness. Oh and the speed to dim the light on & off is a cool feature. I also use the outlets for various things like turning on the Christmas tree on a regular basis. I have most of my home automated with these switches and its been really great. I will be setting up a apple hub so i can use seri voice to control the switches. That will be fun! Sometimes in the app the switches say the are not connected, that may be because of my wifi router i am not sure but most of the time they are all good. Thanks Leviton this has really helped because its kinda old school to touch a light switch, i love how these sense you and just turn on. You can program the duration they should stay on & the brightness. Among some other features im probably forgetting but i highly recommend this.
Works like it should. Nearly instant response via phone or Alexa. Schedules and routines are great and easy to program. We have some wifi switches and outlets. They are not needed everywhere, but they do make our life easier. Turn off all the lights in the basement on or off while I’m upstairs, no problem. Lights programmed to turn on dim when my daughter wakes up and turn off automatically when she leaves for school, done. My friends have seen what I have and they jumped on board as well. From controlling Christmas trees and lights, to pool, porch, and night lights, even a pool pump. This stuff is making life just that much easier. Don’t expect to save money buying this stuff, but it does save your sanity knowing that stuff will turn off when you don’t even know it was on. It’s a dads job to turn lites off around the house when someone left them on, it’s in our DNA. This dad just made his job a bit easier, thanks to leviton.
I love this switch! The functionality, even the look of it. But man does it give me problems! And so randomly! I have 2 switches. One for my kitchen for 4 can lights and one in the dining room for hanging lights. Ive also got them connected to google home too. I’ve never had a problem with the dining room light. Works so smooth every time I tell google home to turn on/off or dim them. But the kitchen is a different story. I’ve had to reset it about once a week because it doesn’t respond to my command or work from the app. But today, the lights were stuck on! Couldn’t turn them off manually from the switch nor would it let me reset the switch itself. Had to turn the power off. It’s getting real annoying. More than anything, even over how cool it functions my command and phone, I need a switch that will be consistent and don’t have to continually deal with. With half my experience, this is not the case. Again, one of them has been great! No problems. But the other has been nothing but a hassle. So it’s kind of a crap shoot on whether you’ll buy one with a problem or not
I’ve used this app for years and am very happy with it. Installing new devices has become much easier with the newer Gen 2 devices (but they are much more particular than the Gen 1 devices about their WiFi, requiring a 2.4GHz WiFi separated from the 5GHz frequency). The app is rock solid and intelligently laid out, and features scenes and schedules that are particularly handy to operate the lights in auto, whether I’m home or not. The app also allows me to optimize my devices based on the bulb technology. My only (very minor) gripe is that the summary page fails to load a widget, and I can’t find any way to see what that widget is supposed to show me, how to fix it, or how to remove it. However, the widgets that do load (# of lights In/Off, rooms On/Off, events, scenes, etc.) are very helpful. Overall, this is a great app that I use every day, along with my Alexa-enabled Leviton devices.
Been in the electrical trade for 26 years. Upgraded my house with Leviton WiFi switches and I am very happy with the results. Flawless control over everything now. No more walking into dark rooms each morning or going outside in the dark as to not leave the patio lights on to save on the electric bill when leaving to work. Timers for on and off schedules work flawlessly. Definitely sold a few of my fellow workers on these things. App is so easy to use. I expected some glitches and delays but everything works spot on with no delays. 5 stars from me. Had to order some switches online as Home Depot does not carry the switch companions or fan speed controllers in stock. This was the only part that I was impatient about. More stock In Stores please other wise these are amazing devices.
Ultimately works, but with more effort than expected
Setup is simple and straightforward, but making interim adjustments to the brightness of lights connected to a Leviton dimmer can be arduous. It doesn’t remember my password, so each time the app has timed out you have to manually re-type the password. Touch ID or facial ID are not supported. Then, it opens to a general info page and you have to click again to load the menu of connected devices. There is a slider bar adjust brightness, but the slider bar does not always respond accurately to touch, especially on a small screen like an iPhone, and getting the slide to make small adjustments like from 20% to 25% is tricky. And there is a slight delay for the light to respond to the change in setting, so any adjustments require a bit of trial and error. It would be easier if the connected devices appeared on the home page, and — without needing to open another window — a percentage could be keyed in, instead of having to open another window and fiddle with the slider.
The app is hyper buggy, API drops, logouts, lockup’s, etc (running latest stable iOS on an iPhone 11 pro max). I have 4 3-way switches (4 controllers + 4 remotes), a dimmer, and two standard switches. While I love the look and feel of the physical devices, the “smart” home integration via the MyLeviton application is anything but. Device setup is a terrible user experience, literally refusing to allow for proper setup on the latest iOS 13.x. The only way I’ve been able to get setup to complete correctly was via an older Samsung Galaxy S8. Device setup requires cellular access, so it can’t be done on a WiFi only tablet. What’s worse, should you have to reset one of the switches, like In the case of a changing the WiFi SSID, you’ll have to deal with the awful UX more than once; on device settings are dropped on reset. I’ve given the application a two star review because I like the hardware, however, if the hardware wasn’t nice, and a negative star review was possible, I’d give MyLeviton something in the negative.
I have a Leviton Wi-Fi light switch. I bought it a year ago and it worked fine. I was notified by Apple Home that a firmware update was available for the switch and to install the update I must use the Leviton app. So I downloaded the app. Then I had to set up a Leviton account. Then you have to register the device (switch) with your account. And this fails every time. To get the Leviton app to recognize the switch, I have to reset the switch so the green light flashes. Then the app tries to transfer my wifi settings to the switch. Which is ludicrous since the switch has been on my WiFi for over a year. But this always fails, app cannot transmit WiFi settings to the switch, perhaps because the switch is already on the wifi network. Therefore cannot proceed to register the switch with my account, therefore cannot proceed within the app, therefore cannot perform the firmware update. I guess I will keep using the switch until it stops working then I will buy a different brand of switch.
I’ve installed several of these switches and have had great success with them but they can be slight tricky. Make sure to completely read the installation instructions for either single or 3way installation. Once up and running, they work great. One tip, make sure you are running the latest version of the app on your phone AND you need to ensure the switch is running the latest firmware. You update the switch firmware through the app. If these are not synced, you will have problems. Also, if you are planning to use one of these switches as a 3-way......you absolutely must purchase the matching remote switch in order for your 3way to function. A standard 3way switch on the other end WILL NOT work. Enjoy.
I had to add in a couple switches after the electrician was here. The Decora App has always been smooth and reliable. Now it sends me to a new My Leviton app that acts likes it adds my devices only they never show up. So I use the Decora with all the warnings about the new app and ultimately it has me add them in Home. Home tells me to update the firmware but tells me to do it in My Leviton. But that is an empty slate so back to Decora. I get it updated and it now works fine in Decora and Home... but go back to My Leviton and it doesn't have any of my rooms or devices, etc. It just wants me to add... which still doesn't work. Why add yet another incompatible way where you have to maintain all different data on your home automation accessories? And to add it, that forced me to create an online account. In summary. It doesn't work with my Decora switches. They work fine with Home and the Decora app. I wish they would just maintain that sleek app that is local and actually works.
I’ve installed and used both Leviton and Lutron smart switches. I like both. I chose to expand the Leviton installation. I like the controller aspect of the Lutron, but in use it offers no real advantage if you’re installing a dozen or fewer switches. Both have good apps. Leviton offers a broader range of switch products. They offer the Companion line of 3-way switches and dimmers. The Smart receptacles are unique, I believe. The switches have been reliable over a year’s time. Wi-fi range so far has been good. Fifty feet seems to be their limit. Metal wall plates and/or boxes may reduce that range some. I’m still adding to the installation. I haven’t used Alexa control, preferring scheduled on/off times. The mechanical on/off toggle works fine when needed. Very pleased! Five-star product.
So we have a home that had a sophisticated Lutron Radio RA system. It was great for its time but as switches wore out you really couldn’t find replacement parts. After testing different brands (tried halo recessed replacements and other Wifi smart bulbs) I landed on Leviton switches and their My Leviton App. This app made it easy to setup and then connect to Alexa. As for “Smart bulbs”... they are actually pretty dumb for lights with switches. You can tell Alexa to turn on the lights all you want, but if someone turned off the switch, you are out of luck. We can now control every room, scene or routine with Alexa, yet if someone wants to manually turn the light on or off or dim them manually, they can. This is perfect for guests or dog sitters. On a side note, I also reached out to Leviton support (Barry) team when I was getting started and they were very helpful. They emailed me a list of the best dimmable bulbs. (Big fan of the 65w Philips soft white w warm glow effect. Others I tried were not a warm enough color.) A great routine using our Leviton Switches is... Alexa, Dogs Out (switches turn on back porch and floods). “Alexa, Dogs In” turns them back off. Enjoying my smart home thanks to Leviton.
I truly enjoy this app, ever since I bought a plug unit half off at my local hardware store, I have been addicted to these, from hardwired switches, to wall plug units, I have them all. It really helps when I am coming home late at night and simply pushing one button turns on all of my selected lights, and when I am out of town, the away function works great turning on and off items automatically, I even have a plug hooked up to a radio that turns on and off to give my house the extra look of “I’m being lived in right now” It’s even great for holiday lights with scheduling, and the sunset and sunrise time are even better, not having to change the time settings when seasons change. A great app overall.
There are several things I like about this app a lot. The layout is simple. It is easy to see all of your devices by scrolling, without needing to first click into a room, like some other smart home apps require. One of the best things is that it shows you right up front which devices (all lights, in my case) are still on. This makes it really easy to turn them off without hunting through the rest of the user interface. Tech support was VERY helpful when I had issues. I thought I would just use this app to set up devices and then control them through a different app but I find myself coming to this app by default because it’s so simple.
This app works great. Over the years I’ve been slowly adding more switches to the system. Today I added the control of the garage door lights so we don’t have to come home to a dark driveway anymore. I like the feature that the app can determine when dusk is so I don’t have to keep adjusting the time the lights come on during the year. It’s kind of a set-it, forget it kind of app. I do like that they continually improve it so it does get easier to connect switches. Once I had a switch get lost from the network. I really had trouble getting it to connect again. Turns out just turning the circuit breaker off and on again fixes all. Simple to use. I like it!
I’ve been using Leviton devices for over five years in my house. I have found them extremely easy to install, configure, and interface with Alexa. All of the most common rooms in my house use switches or plugs. I love that I can control them all with this app, or Alexa. I can be in bed at the end of the night and simply say ‘turn off the whole house’. Response is essentially instantaneous. The switch construction is good and the instructions are pretty straightforward with decent illustrations. Setting them up using this app is really easy! I would strongly recommend this app as it can be very convenient to control your lights remotely from anywhere!
I have a Levitron Power Panel with the Smart Breakers and Data Module. When my WiFi goes down the Data Module never tries to acquire WiFi again, I’m always forced to power cycle it. Also the cost calculation does not take into account of a tiered rate plan for different times of the day, so it’s very inaccurate. Not to mention this App is a web App and is very slow and lacks numerous features plus the host Server goes down frequently leaving the App with no data. I’ve tried the Levitron wall outlets and they never connect to the App so the outlets only work as a dumb outlet. The install of new Smart Breakers take forever and is very problematic taking several attempts to work. In addition a firmware update to the Data Module always leaves some breakers unconnected having to then delete them and reinstall them. All in all a very poor App with lots of issues, can’t recommend this to anyone.
I have bought wall switches throughout my house and love the ease that it works with my google home nest ecosystem. The my Leviton app is feature rich to give me lots of control over the functionality of the switches for some super moods. If Leviton as a company stops support for these devices in the future it would be another devastating blow to the trust of all iot devices as a whole. I would prefer a limited support or an open source solution if Leviton felt they could no longer support these devices in the future. I think all iot hardware users should support legislation that requires companies to provide the expected lifespan or expiration date of a product including sections for their software support for legacy devices on the box so adoption of devices can grow. It would also mean newcomers to smart home devices could make purchases with confidence knowing companies are being held accountable to make business decisions to encourage costumer success in the long run. Upvote this review if you think something like this would encourage you to pick on company over another.
App has continual improvements. However for those of us using the app with a smart breaker panel to track expenses we need the app to calculate Time Of Use for those of us in areas where electric costs aren’t fixed all year long. During the summer months our utility provider increases rates during specific hours of the day by almost 50% therefore the app will lead you to believe your bill will be x amount when you’ll actually get a bill for quite a bit more. In my case it was off by over $80 a month. For app developers this is an easy fix with programming. Nothing physical is required to fix this detail that will launch this app’s usefulness.
Tons of features, easy install - comes a bit pricey
Installed myself with amateur electrical know-how. Worked everytime. Used the 3 button controller, 3 motion dimmers, 12 dimmers, and 3 basic on/off in our home and garage. App is straightforward and user friendly. Lots of integrated options and features but will likely seem too pricey for many folks. I really like the 3 button controller. Once I understood what that can do I went all in. It can act as a timer for my outdoor lighting at the same time sets themes that can pretty much do whatever I want with any light in the house - provided it’s got the right Leviton product for the job integrated.
I am going to have my right hip replaced, it is bone on bone, hurts something feared. I have all my lights on wifi so now at night I can get lights on so I am not stumbling around in the dark. If I forgot to turn off a light I can do it from my iPad or iphone . Really is a help when you have a bad hip. Tom Wells Almost a year now since having my hip replacement. Being able to control my lights has helped my recovery. One of the best improvement to my home. Work great ! It’s been a year since my hip replacement. Levinton switches are wonderful. I can control my lights and plugs remotely at home or away. They are proving there worth everyday for me.
The Leviton Switches I installed do not require a neutral wire which, because of the wiring in my house, I do not have I was reluctant to go in this direction but after viewing a video made by an electrician of what it takes to have a neutral wire installed (cost) I decided to try. The switches do require a bridge that Leviton offers After physical installation and setup of both the bridge and switches and loading the app to my phone I am very pleased with the performance of these products and the cost avoidance they provided me giving me the lighting capabilities I was looking for I intend on installing a few more throughout my house and garage
The app works great. Pretty easy to get everything set up. I would love to see Leviton add widget capabilities to the app. It would be great to be able to control activities or turn on and off your most used devices or rooms from a widget without opening the app. I gave the app 4 stars because I think there is some room for improvement like having a timer on devices. For instance, have the fan on for 45 minutes than shut it off. It would also be nice to be able to link devices. So when a certain device turns on it always turns on a child device even if it’s turned on from the physical switch. There’s always room for innovation but this is a solid smart system from Leviton.
User interface is easy to understand and use. Upload of switches to the system is remarkably easy compared to some competitors. All switches work. Uploading of new firmware was simple and works. Having pulled a competitor’s switches (Meross switches barely worked and few lasted more than a few months before failure) for a complete home upgrade and installing the Leviton system, I am very impressed. With light switches, dimmers, companions, fan speed controllers, bathroom fan switches, auto on/off switches we will have over 160 in our home when complete. About 2/3 done installing, and all are working well.
I love it , so easy to install it or create a custom program or flexible schedule. High range and fast responds of any WiFi or other device to control it I love the app great selection of perfect lighting at any room I believe that ,after many years keep trying other brands work only sort time, thir product I have been using for six years with no problems or issues However it is expensive cost lots of money even for small home improvement, when I use them every day on my comfort and home safe it pay off all investment
i have several leviton smart plugs in my house, and i'm so disenchanted with the service i'm considering getting rid of them. randomly devices will fall off the network and adding them back is like pulling teeth. i don't understand how, when my phone ipad and laptop all see the wifi network perfectly, how the my leviton app "cannot connect to wifi". this is a persistent and recurrent issue that, so far, customer service has failed to resolve. this includes the iphone im using to access the app - it's ON THE SAME WIFI NETWORK but the Leviton app fails to access it. i have 3 bars of wifi service on the phone, am literally six feet from the router, and the app refuses to access it. this is very much an all-or-none service. either it works flawlessly, or it's is painfully difficult to make it work. buyer beware.
This app works to do what it is designed to do. But there are so many smart features that it is missing. Like maximum dim levels and auto off features are buried in the advanced settings instead of out in the standard settings so you can schedule them. I want to be able to set a maximum light level at bedtime so my kids can’t turn the light on brighter and would love to be able to set auto-off just during the daytime periods when they won’t be spending much time in their rooms. Or if they don’t move those functions out where I can schedule them, at least allow me to disable the ability to hit the switch on twice to put it to maximum dim level.
I use Leviton smart switches at my vacation rental properties to control lighting after guests have left and they have helped me save with electrical costs. I found them easy to install as long as you have a neutral wire and programming is a breeze. I did add almost 20 devises which my internet service couldn’t handle but I was able to rectify the issue with an internet upgrade. It’s probably a good idea to check with you IP first to make sure your service can handle the load if your installing multiple devises. All in all great product and I give them a high recommendation.
The recent upgrade to the app has stopped connecting which makes using the smart switches useless as smart switches. I was extremely happy when I upgraded my house a year ago but as they’ve “upgraded “ the app the switches are becoming less and less reliable. They won’t work with google home and only randomly work with Alexa. Update: The app seems more stable and stays connected now. Everything seems to be working just fine very pleased with the experience that I’ve had with customer service and the switches himself!
Would give it zero stars. The “upgrades” provided appear to “clean up” the screen which it did. In the process, ease of use and functionality were lost. Now harder to dim each of the lights in a room to equal values (or even close). Dimming take more touch action. I have enjoyed the Leviton app and switches for a while and more than 25 of my light switches are decora smart switches. I am now looking for an after market capability and honestly, had I not already installed so many of these switches, I would consider shifting brands.
Completely useless, can’t be used on existing devices
This app is complete junk. I added a Decora smart dimmer last month. Used the Leviton app to set it up. I have tried every button in the app to set a schedule, doesn’t exist. Doesn’t exist in Apples Home app either (STUPID STUPID stupid). I go to Leviton webpage, find out schedules are in this app instead. This app FORCES you to create an account with Leviton, and use a better password then any bank does. For controlling lights???? Then it DEMANDS your location. Why???? What does that have to do with the price of ice in Alaska?? Must be normal mega Corp greed wanting to sell you personal and private info. But all that is in vain since this app refuses to even try to find the dimmer. If I want to even try to set a schedule it looks like I would have to search how to factory reset the dimmer and have Apple home forget it too. STUPID and STUPIDIER.
Smart Panel Information and App features below Standard
Coming from the Sense app, this app is like something in the Stone Age. I find the app a bit buggy and visually unappealing. The app’s layout needs a lot of work and the smart load center may need its own stand alone app. There needs to be a section that clearly shows you your solar consumption/production and how much solar is going to/coming from the grid. They also need to incorporate a way to show what’s consuming energy without looking at the entire panel to figure out where the load is coming from. In all honesty, Sense did this very well and I might be a little biased since Ive had Sense for the last 3yrs and became use to their system. If the app was better it could further enhance the load center smart panel features.
Added a smart dimmer, downloaded app, worked as advertised. Next day installed and added another smart dimmer switch, took forever to figure out how to add device even watching Leviton info sites and following directions. Added an ‘Activities’ to capture device, which was a bad move as now all I get is ‘ERROR Looks like we need to fix something so we’re working on it’. Finally got device added to App and listed under Night Schedule but new device cannot be saved once selected, keep getting ‘ERROR Looks like we need to fix something so we’re working on it’. I hate to do this but looks like it’s a delete App situation and start all over… or replace the 2 switches with Lutron and go with a hub.
This app is used to control poorly engineered and terribly supported devices. I own 19 Leviton Decora WiFi switches, and any any given time 50% of them do not connect. They will randomly stop responding, and require flipping the circuit breaker to reset. When in their unresponsive state a soft reset does not work, nor does a hard factory reset. Only flipping the circuit breaker will bring them back online - for maybe a few days. I own other brands of HomeKit enabled WiFi devices, and none of them ever disconnect, yet with Leviton failure is the norm as opposed to the exception. I wish I spent my money of a better product. Replacing all of these switches with another brand is a considerable investment but one I am willing to make because the Leviton are just terrible. A quick internet search shows I am far from alone in my sentiment.
I had loved Leviton. Very easy to set up and use. Now is NOT so good. I am trying to install a plug in for our Christmas tree. I have set up many of these plug in in the past easy peasy. Now the device will be allowed to connect to the WiFi that it broadcasts during the set up. My iPhone and iPad says “unable to connect”. I have done everything that Leviton says to try except the ridiculous get an old device and set it up, really what a Mickey Mouse response. I have gone to privacy settings > local networks and the app doesn’t even show up on either device (running iOS17) and I have runs this app for years and no issues till now. It seems like My Leviton developers have just decided to not show up to work.
this app and the smart switch are really a headache. you get maybe 2 weeks total of no problems. then it’s either the switches that for some reason disconnect fro the wifi, or the app is just randomly down. (and yes my router is only 15 ft from the switches) last week the switches were just randomly not working, wake up the next morning they were fine. wake up this morning the app isn’t working. says i’ve tried my password too many times needs to be reset. reset password, now my email is not connected to an account. so my lights are now going to be on all day, or until i keep checking the app to see if they’ve done another update. good thing it’s only my porch and carport lights that are on a leviton smart switches, and not my whole house. but they work great, when they work.
I have been using Wemo smart switches for about 10 years in my home and I have about 24 switches from time to time they would disconnect and not work with Alexa. I recently had another switch go out and it wouldn’t connect back and started making some weird humming noises as when I yanked it out of the wall and decided it’s time to replace all my switches with something new. I did some quick research which I knew I’ve been needing to do for a while. I’m so glad I chose Leviton !!
The automatic updates to the 2nd gen lights and plugs are amazing. The advancement in software for different LED lights at low illumination were really appreciated as it is hard to pick lights when building and although we tested lights before buying for a whole house we discovered flickering at low illumination. The software updates fixed the issues without doing anything. Many thanks to the team for their hard work in the background and keeping the product on the cutting edge.
I use many systems and apps for my smart setup. I am using the Leviton system to control auxiliary heating with their smart plug. Of all the systems, Leviton has the best software and hardware so far. The app has many functions that others don’t have. The sunrise sunset is nice. Most importantly, it saves all the data locally on the device. For safety this was what sold me. I can program the plug through the app to always turn off after half an hour. This keeps my heating system on a second failsafe. BIGEST PRO: The scheduling is saved on the device as well and is always exactly on time to turn on and off. Many other smart devices I have used are often a bit late to turn on or off on their schedules. I have yet to have any problems with the app other than they need to make IOS shortcuts work with the app so you can turn it on or off with Siri in the lock screen. (Some competitors have this).
Switches and plugs work great, but at times can lose wifi connection randomly. I have 20 of them, so if they all went out or most I’d say it were a wifi problem. But randomly 1 switch or plug will need to reset. And I have to do it manually. Never have this problem with the other brand that I use as well at the house. And yes I wrote to Leviton, even asked to try correct in firmware update but problem still persists. It’s been 4 years btw.
I can no longer connect to my switches. Apparently, location services now also needs to be turned on for the app to work correctly, but when you select location service as always on for the Leviton app, it still goes back to “ask”, and since the app does not ask (apparently because it doesn’t know it needs the location services), the “fix” is unattainable. So frustrating. Leviton, you should be able to fix this! And you should have discovered it with some simple pre-iOS 13 release testing, which you would have had access to as a developer. ... I’m hoping for a fix. Until then, however, don’t waste your money on this system. It’s worthless if Leviton won’t invest in a proper app development and testing team.
Just recently swamped out regular lutron switches and replaced with leviton app controlled switches. The designs and functionality were spot on. Being able to fully control 3 floors multiple bedrooms, kitchen basement etc.. including landscape with various products of the leviton line is the best in the industry! Customer service was based in the US and provided immediate answers regarding layout and product line solutions. For those reasons we give them Five out of Five Stars!
When you set the timer for auto shutoff, it does not record when the device was turned on, just how long it will run. I use this app for turning my snow melt system on and off. I find it annoying that unless you write down when you turned the system on, you don’t know when it is going to turn off. With a snow melt system, there is great variability in weather conditions and I often want to adjust the time. It would be a great help if the app noted when the system was turned on and how much time was remaining before the auto shutoff.
Products are always well made, when I encountered an integration issue with the app and a dimmer they replaced the dimmer. The app has some really good features, I only wish they'd improve the manual setting interface for the dimmers; having the ability to enter in a value instead of sliding the slider in the app - while something I like - sometimes it'd be easiest to be able to enter in 10% instead of fighting with the touchscreen. Otherwise great product would definitely recommend.
We’re a strictly HomeKit home. We’ve had experiences from great to horrible with other device makers. Every Leviton device we’ve installed has been easy to install and set up. Our house was built in the 70s and even when we ran into wiring issues, Leviton’s support, resources, and devices have always came through. Now, if y’all could just add smart outlets (the plug-ins are great) we could make things even more seamless. Either way, well done!
Love these smart switches. No bridge required which is why we chose these. Easy to install and setup. Works great with Alexa too, which is a plus. Great assortment of choices to adjust everything from bright or dimmed, scheduling options, easy to use app. You can also adjust the light on the actual switch itself. Wether you like to have the little green light on the bottom to signify the switch is on or off, or turn the light off completely. Simply wonderful!
The app has annoying some annoying bugs. The background video that plays in the background while login in is disorienting. Also, when you are logging in and select the name and password fields, the input field loses focus so while your typing you’ll realize too late that your not entering anything at all. Also, it seems not to like more than one user controlling the switches at a time because other members of my household can’t control the switches even though they are registered with the app. Very frustrating. Seems like testing of the app is nothing but an after though.
I have a total of 6 devices, 2 switches, 2 dimmers and 2 plugs. I have one dimmer switch that goes offline in the app about every 2 days. The only way to get it back online is to turn off on the breaker. After a lot of testing the dimmer switch going offline, I think I found a pattern. The dimmer that is going offline is in my kitchen and when I use the microwave for over 1 min I think it makes the dimmer go offline to the WiFi. The kitchen dimmer is 5 ft from the router and the good dimmer is 30 ft from the router. So in conclusion I have a good WiFi network and I have 5 Leviton devices that have never gone offline but the dimmer in the kitchen is 6 ft from the microwave and 5 ft from the router goes offline randomly when I use the microwave.
