MySunPower
A good app: monitors power production of my rooftop solar panels, showing power generation in real time, and providing historical analyses over the life of the installation. It generally seems pretty reliable, and on the rare occasion it breaks down, the company is responsive in terms of fixing it. As with most apps, there is room for improvement. The greatest, though perhaps the hardest, would be to integrate power consumption in the home, to understand net consumption from the grid, and its daily/seasonal structure. Easier improvements would include the ability to compare a given month over different years (compare Februaries over the life of the installation, for example), and to include lifetime averages to compare to today’s or this month’s production.

Very Buggy, Fixed, But Now Not Working Again
INITIAL REVIEW: I was pretty excited about being able to track my usage, but I was quite disappointed. I have no confidence in the accuracy of its reporting. Yesterday, for example, it showed us producing 0.1 kW. (A cloudy, rainy day, so this is no surprise.). It showed home usage of 1.4kW. So, naturally, you would expect the readings to show 1.3kW being pulled from the grid. Instead, the app happily showed us feeding 1.5 kW *into* the grid. So, the app was 2.8kW off on reporting 0.1kW production. (This was so startlingly inaccurate that I even took a photo of it, just to make sure I was remembering this correctly.) Unfortunately, it was not the only time yesterday that the readings were off. UPDATE: I contacted Sunpower, and the app is reporting readings that make much more sense. There is still a problem of the occasional crash, but this is working MUCH better, and I am adding two more stars. Thanks, guys! NEW UPDATE, October 2021 Well… the numbers are consistent now. No strange math. However, the production and consumption numbers are still way, way, off. I downloaded Smartmeter to see what my meter readings were, and compared them with what MySunPower was telling me, and they have never matched, ever. According to Smartmeter(the local utility’s meter-reading app), for the last few months I have a 310 KwH surplus. According to MySunPower, I have a 2,500 KwH surplus. This is not a trivial difference!

MySunPower App
The fundamental issue I have with this app is the fact that it would often fail when it was needed the most. Let me expand. In the San Jose area we had numerous big storms and some of which resulted in electrical outages (PGE) and some were hours long. We would monitor the weather and wind forecasts and when we thought there was a good chance of an outage we would attempt to change the battery settings from “self supply” to “reserve” and the app would fail. Note, we still had power and still had internet service at those times but for some strange reason the app wasn’t working so we couldn’t make that change. And worse yet, during several of those storms (and we had many storms this season) I would find the app wasn’t working or updating our data. I would have to go outside to visually look at our batteries charging status to know if the system was running correctly. And worst yet on a few occasions the status lights on the battery didn’t give any information! I tried calling your service line to complain and there was no immediate response nor was there any answer to why the app or batteries status wasn’t working. When did get a response it was weeks or a month later and who cares! Why can’t I have a physical switch at the batter to change the operating mode?

Less info than in older sunpower app
Have been using the older app for 3 years now, but it’s now being retired and replaced by this one. Unfortunately, this provides less info than the old one, as I cannot see a table of data here at all only graphical. Other suggestions for enhancement: 1. Would be very helpful if the app provided something like a year-over-year comparison of, for example, month to date or year to date performance. 2. There’s also no panel level data presented, so with 32 panels installed, I have no idea how any of them are performing in comparison to each other, or to how they performed a year ago. This would be good to know if as a homeowner I notice a drop in the overall system performance. It might also have avoided an issue I experienced after my initial system install where several panels produced absolutely NO power for months, and neither Sunpower nor my Sunpower installer proactively noticed it! It was only after I submitted a ticket inquiring on the consistently lower than expected system output that someone finally took an action to address it.

Was good when it worked
I’ve never written a review before but here it goes. For the first 3 or so months it worked great. Was able to see how much was produced every day and have a history of it. Then I noticed it stopped working for a bit and my history was lost during that time but at least it started to keep track of the history when it started working again. I lost about a month’s worth of history. Not too big of a deal but I called and they said they are doing a data migration and would be done in about 2-3 months. Quite a long time with no warning. Called again at the end of that period and they told me same thing. Would be done in another 2 months but same result. I eventually gave up and a couple months later it stopped keeping track of my data all together for the day. So I called again and what do you know, they are still migrating data. So essentially the app is almost useless to me. We’ll see if anything improves in the next month but poor experience so far with no promising improvements.

Better than the old version, so much room for improvement
First, it’s annoying that the app goes offline after a few seconds of running in the background. The latest release broke the Net Grid Usage query. I know that the data is being collected because it used to show up. Otherwise, I’d think there’s a hardware issue. Now that the DB is going to be improved, it’d be great that my old data could be fixed. After having the wrong current transformers installed, my lifetime reports will never be accurate as it shows my house was consuming tenths of megawatts per month. UPDATE: Removing one star. It took almost two months to get a response from the developers. After checking the App Store, it seems that they just bulk responded to “recent” reviews. Terrible customer-satisfaction management. It’s better to be upfront with the customers and explain why a DB upgrade will take months to finish, than to go silent until it’s completed. There are comments regarding individual panel information but the FAQ section does not mention it. Are customers supposed to guess. Even if a comment was added to the new version, most people use the Update All. Decent apps that have major upgrades typically present What's New after the upgrade. In my personal case, the lifetime data is screwed permanently but I understand it’s nice to have the option available in the analysis view. What about Week? With so much whitespace it could not be added?!?

App doesn’t work and poor follow up
My sunpower system was connected around Jan 2023. Everything was great until mid Feb, when all of a sudden the app stopped working. I called customer service and they assured me the system was working and the app should be up and running shortly. A few days later, I called back, because they was no change. I wasn’t getting any information from the app. They said it was a “monitoring” issue and reported it to that group. It should be running in a few days. I waited 4 business days and called back again! Long story short, I have called over four times and still no resolution. It’s getting close to a month and this app is still not working. To say I’m disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. I will be calling again to see if I can get a manager or someone higher in the organization, because this is unacceptable. How hard is it to fix what is being pushed to the app if my system is operating properly? Based on others review, the app is working for some and not others. Fix it!

App problem 6 days and basically nothing
Six days ago, I reported that my app was not working correctly as of today with me continuing to have to call back, I was told that it had been escalated to the data department to tier 2 level. Whatever is going on appears to be happening on my app is not happening on other people’s apps because I have other friends who have the Sunpower app. I have deleted it and added it back in and nothing. I can see the actual information when I go to the analyze section, but I cannot change my battery operation other than on the website. Additionally, the homepage shows that there is a power outage which there was last week and it shows that I am not getting anything from the grid with my battery set at 100% reserve. I expect after spending so much money with Sunpower and referring people to them that they would be far more attentive to these kinds of issues. I already emailed mySunPower but I sincerely doubt I will get any response that will adequately resolve this problem once and for all.

App no longer shows usage
This app no longer shows my usage. My system is online, but has not provided me any data since June 19, 2022. I called about it and was told SunPower is in the process of migrating to a new system. They assured me everything is working…except the app…that I can’t use. One of the big reasons I went with SunPower was for the monitoring system. Of course they will not compensate me for a product I paid for and no longer deliver to me. I asked to file a formal complaint and someone would call me. Still waiting for that call. If you are looking to buy a SunPower system, I would look elsewhere as they do not deliver on all their promises. This new app also has fewer features than the previous. I see the developer response. It’s a joke. I have emailed you multiple times and called multiple times. Each time with the same response, you should be able to see your monitoring data soon. It’s now November 2022! Still nothing. I update your app and still nothing.

App is great overall except….
Love using the app to see how much power my solar panels are generating. Although it seems there is something wrong with the ‘right now’ display. For example, my solar panels say they are generating 4.5 kW, my house is using 4 kW, but yet the app says I’m sending 8.5 kW to the grid. How is this possible? You would think after using 4 kW, I would be sending 0.5 kW to the grid. Seems like the math is wrong for the ‘right now’ display. All the other pages show the math correctly. It subtracts my home usage from the amount sent to the grid. It doesn’t add it like the ‘right now’ display. Please address the math problem so I can see correct information.

No usage shown…
We have had our panels running for a few months now. I was really happy that I would get to monitor our usage since we are in California is and have PG&E and I wanted to make sure that we got the best results and benefits from the system. The first week or so the app worked and showed our usage, but since that time (early 2023) it has only shown us our production. How are we able to monitor our usage other than looking on here and then going over to pg&e to compare. Our system was not cheap and this one one of the benefits we were looking at when choosing a system. I have called customer service many times at the beginning and never got any response other than “it says it is working properly” so did the app make changes or the company make changes? It would be very helpful if we could monitor our usage also. Thank you.

App is not functional
I had SunPower install a 19 panel system with Battery in Oct of 2020. The entire process and customer service was terrible throughout but I’m only here today to review the app. I’m currently on an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 14.4. I’ve downloaded the MySunPower app (deleted and reinstalled several times just to be sure it wasn’t on my end) and every time I open the app all I can see is a blank white screen. It is completely useless. I found out my wife on an iPhone X with older software was able to use the app but not until several weeks had gone by and she asked to try on hers. This is obviously incredibly frustrating to have purchased a system at almost $50,000 and not be able to see how the panels or battery are performing. Also during the upgrade today they told me the last maintenance worker had left my batter in the off position so I hadn’t been storing power for the last 3 months. FIX THE APP ASAP! Wish I could rate 0/5 stars.

Understanding your energy consumption
Since the installation of Sunpower solar system and the battery backup at our house I have been much more aware of our energy use. The Sunpower App instantly shows the adjusted power consumption when certain equipment is switched on/off in the house. I can see the power consumption from the heat pump, the coffee machine, the EV car charger, the dryer and the dishwasher to name a few. The Sunpower App shows the energy flow from the solar panels, the battery and the grid. Amazing. The App allows you to set thresholds for the minimum battery storage values in case of power outage. The App also provides access to power and energy use over previous periods, per day, per month, per year or even lifetime. The fact that all equipment is managed by a single app has enabled me to get a consolidated view of whole home energy use. I highly recommend this Sunpower System and App to everyone who wants a single view of whole home energy use with the goal the manage the energy consumption for a greener plant. Simon, Pleasanton

Connection problem
The App is very cool when it’s working. However, it always says connected even when it’s not. Half the time it is not connected to my SunVault system. It usually get disconnected after midnight and stays disconnected for a few days. Sunpower is blaming my wifi connection but all my internet appliance have no issues with connection. I work from home and use Xfinity. My wifi speeds are always over 100 to 150 mbps. In the garage, it is around 60 to 80 mbps. So while the UI is very cool, it is unreliable and useless half the time. Unfortunately, you have no choice if you’re using Sunpower’s SunVault systems.

Basic
Unfortunately, this app is super basic and doesn’t show you much. I’ll give you very elementary level information but you really have no idea how your system is working, which is antiquated. Additionally I was told that if there was ever a problem with my system, sunpower would notify me and let me know, however I noticed issues with my system and had to submit trouble ticket months and months after the fact. Ultimately Competitive products are definitely many notches above this one to include you can on the app through dashboard look at your inverters, system output, efficiency, etc. I would think it would be pretty simple to create an app that would be more user-friendly, more user inclusive on how your panels are doing. I would also expect the creators of this app Would want to stay competitive with other products on the market.

Quite useful, relatively dependable.
In short, does what it says on the label. If you’ve got a compatible solar installation and you’re a real-time numbers geek, it’s an indispensable app, especially if you live in a state with extortionate utility costs and/or particular time-of-use billing schedules. Upsides: Simple, easy to use, worked out of the box. Not much content, but there’s not much to visualize anyway. Useful analytics on current and historical production and utilization. Downsides: Configuring for Wi-fi required patience, but that might just have been my older Apple hardware. Biggest downside is that the app logs you out frequently, and staying perpetually logged in is the main reason I downloaded the app in the first place.

Could be better
I’ve been using your app for close to a year now and there are a couple things I think are missing that would make the app better. First, it would be great if we could see the data for each individual solar panels. Maybe clicking on the panels image would show us all the panels and how much power each are generating. This way we could easy see if a panel is underperforming or has any issues. Second, a widget for iOS that quickly shows how much power the system is generating would be great as well. This way we don’t have to open the app to see how much power we’re generating. 99% of the time I open the app just to see this info, so being able to just see it would be a time saver.

Very frustrating experience
The app gets more than one star because it does in fact provide some functionality. Sluggish, aggregated functionality but indeed a bit more information than just going to PG&E and downloading hourly meter data. It’s not what I need, which is per panel data. I need to know if there is localized shading or whether a panel is covered in ash- things that I can do something about. And besides, it’s my system now, not Sunpower’s and I have a right to the information which all those inverters are putting out. Sunpower can provide this data, which is what most everybody actually wants, but they just won’t, probably because they feel like the less customers know, the less they will have grounds to complain. It’s a major negative and I didn’t pay the premium for a Sunpower system to be patronized.

Charged [in an excellent way] & Well Satisfied Customer
This is a wise investment: It has assisted our planet’s likelihood of continuing to support our own and other species by eliminating my need for fossil fuels to power my home and heat my water. It has significantly eliminated my PG&E bill. I came in on tier 2, so I only pay a few months out of the year for some upkeep of the grid, which is moving the energy on and off site, to be most efficient and effective. The people at SunPower were extremely helpful throughout the entire process.

Not showing anything
The old one worked fine and when the new app (this) was brought in it wasn’t working because of the data migration. It worked for couple of months then it stopped producing data. I’ve emailed and called and was told my panels are producing power. How am I supposed to know if it is or it isn’t when the app haven’t provided me any information since October 15, 2022. It’s Nov 2022 now. I’ve read few reviews here and it seems I’m not the only one having the same issue. I’m sure I’ll get a reply, “please email…..” It will be the same again, “your panels are producing….” Edit: So I got a scripted response like everyone else. Before I wrote this review I called and I was told to go to the website. The tech told me to use the web from now on. Why design an app that doesn’t work and tell customer(s) to use the web?

Needs additional choices
Only reason I gave it a 4 star was because it doesn’t allow you to set a hard time to have battery feed house. Other than that it’s a great app giving you a ton of information and control. I have lowered it to 2 stars because now I am being told not to rush the technical department that by rushing they’ll make mistakes??? Its only been a year!!!!!! I thought they were professionals guess I was wrong. I had 2 electrical glitches 24 days apart. The first one made the system run the way it should ie cost savings period from 4 to 9 pm 7 days a week. The second one put the system back in the default setting of 5 to 8 Mon thru Fri. A child in 2nd grade could have fixed this a long time ago. GET IT FIXED ALREADY OR GET ANOTHER JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disappointing. Lacks features vs web portal
I’ve been monitoring my SunPower system using the web portal for about 18 months. The mySunPower app is not integrated with the portal backend, so it’s necessary to sign up from scratch with email, password and verification, THEN actually sign in (repeating the process.) Then, despite my pre-existing portal account, I had go out to the box to retrieve serial number information. And in the end, I’ve found that the custom start/end date mode for the energy production chart only displays the 2020 and 2021 annual buckets rather than monthly buckets, so comparison of energy production year-over-year by month is not possible. This is the only chart I’ve ever cared to use, so I won’t be using the app any more unless/until this is brought into alignment with the portal.

Accuracy of the App
September 25, 2024 Remember the accuracy of the app is based on the accuracy of the CRT Module installed. I spent a year after my ‘installation’ evaluating my production vs Home usage and comparing to my energy provider Monthly information. The numbers were way off. With my investigative insistence I determined that the installation of the module was incorrect. My installation company admitted that it was installed incorrectly and placed it in another location guaranteeing complete accuracy . Months later and activity not matching once again escalated the problem all the way to the top of tech support. Once again the company admitted that the previous (2) installations were faulty/incorrect. The CRT module was finally connected to the main panel (as it should have been initially) and there now is a 94% accuracy as compared to Edison Electric monthly printouts….BE AWARE.

Solar has lowered my electric boil
Sun Power provided me with 15 panels and since they have been up my electric bill has not gone over 60$ which is great considering I have a 3500 square ft home and run 7 window air conditioners. Install went along fine in the beginning there were a few issues with the battery (I also got a back-up battery from Sun Power). My only complaint is I was given a quote with a $2000 rebate in it and have not received the rebate. The system has been in 6 months. I put $20,000 down on the job which is why the rebate was added to my quote. This continues to be a frustrating situation.

Hardware is great, software is terrible.
I went with Sunpower hardware because it’s the best around. I did do my research and consulted with the app as well and did see that customers complained of how terrible and unreliable the app is, it’s definitely true. While my system has only been on for a couple of days, it’s hard to get it fixed and properly calibrated with customer service and they say “this” team handles this, call back in ‘x’ business days for them to say, “it’s working on our end.” Luckily, the city’s meter is properly working and can show me the difference in the delivered energy vs. renewable energy and not the outrageous consumption and production rates the monitoring system is giving me. A simple solution of logging out and logging back in, deleting the app hasn’t worked for me.

Everything I need to monitor my system
This app is great, love that I can get panel level information. I have had my system for about 7 months now and still check in on my system multiple times a day. Seeing Production and Consumption real time has helped me understand the impact of various appliances on my electrical use. I feel very confident that with this visibility I will quickly become aware of any performance issues. This app has everything I need to monitor my system and gives me piece of mind.

Sun Power
We’re very pleased with our Sun Power system. We’ve had our system since March and it has proven extremely reliable to this point. If I were to start from new I would install additional panels and a battery. The installation went very quickly and the crew was very knowledgeable , being a retired electrician I know how professional the Sun Power team was. The Sun Power organization’s capability was one of the reasons we chose to have them do the work.

Please
On your website, you tell us how to evaluate per panel production. But it appears only a chosen few of your clients can access the option. Why? I know the choices I made when I bought the panels and the limitations. Why don’t let me analyze how my choice was flawed? How can I truly recommend Sunpower? I am not only asking for you give me that option to view every panel but also consider it false advertisement (because you are saying the option is available). Also, I have seen people in other states talk about it’s availability. Which makes it discriminatory to refuse to give me the option. It should be all or none.

1.0.88 Seems to have fixed Analyze
The historical graphs are back and seem to be working again without data loss. 1.0.87 The latest update did not solve the problem caused by the previous update. Still nothing under the analyze tab. Honestly… does your developer not test these before putting them into production ?? Can’t get any old data on usage or generation to come up. Graphs are all blank. Only can see the current numbers on the Home Screen. Analyze screen does not show anything. Tried erasing and reloading the app. Tried resetting the link to the home system. Tried log out and in. All with same result. Don’t update your phone until this is fixed !

Incorrect display
This app only worked correctly for one day once we began operating our system. The Home Screen displays the flow of electricity backwards. As if the grid was powering our house and solar array. The numbers are correct but flow reversed. We called multiple times and opened tickets and spoke with people and no one can help us fix it. We were told the app updates every two weeks and it should fix itself, however our issue has gone on longer than 2 weeks. It’s very frustrating to pay $42,000 cash and not even have an app interface that works. Sunpower convinced us to hire them over other companies because of their customer service, unfortunately we have found their customer service lacking.

Lots of room for improvement
1. Cost Saving mode for battery discharge battery between hours 5-8pm, but PG&E most expensive time 3-9pm. This should be customizable 2. Self Supply mode should allow to use solar power only, and notify if it’s drawing from the grid (see 4) 3. App has no notifications. It’d be nice to know when for example electricity being drawn from the grid 4. Scheduling to allow switch between modes would be very useful Pls consider But for now only 3 stars. Also I learned that the app does not show real-time status. When it say “Right now” that actually means 5-10 minutes delayed information - no good ☹️

Good app
Good app overall, especially the analysis portion. It would be great if during the first 5 or so seconds while the app determines the current live numbers (solar production, consumption) the app wouldn't show a misleading default message that no solar energy is being produced - instead, the message should say something like "Determining the current status... one moment!" Also, estimated savings should not contain cents, that's ridiculous :) Lastly, individual panel health Info would be useful - we have 20 panels with micro-converters, why not leverage/show that information..?

Not getting all features
I’m new to the solar game. I never got an email from anybody on how to set up my app account. Was told it was SunRuns responsibility. So I figured it out. Not to hard. Major issue I have is the App Store the pictures shows power being feed back into the grid…. Well not my app. I can only see power coming from the panels. My friend got the app two weeks after me, guess what his app does. Shows power going into the grid. It’s these little things that matter. I even removed the app and reinstalled, nothing. That’s why it’s 2 stars. The app doesn’t offer many features to monitor your solar product. It’s not like there’s a thousand other features to make you forget about the missing one.

Monitoring system and customer service both underperform
1. We were excited to be able to monitor panel-level performance. Unfortunately, the communication between the individual panels and the monitoring system is spotty. 2. When we first signed up for monitoring, the data provided was muddled: the system added production and consumption numbers together. We spent over an hour on the phone to SunPower to fix this configuration problem. 3. The app displays serial numbers for all panels. Could it also display the model numbers? We’d like to know whether our installer gave us the panels we paid for! (After a terrible experience with our installer, and appalling customer service from SunPower, our trust is broken.)

This app is terrible. The previous version was just fine. This one has spotty reporting. Daily bar graphs shows very incomplete data. ( nothing for hours, then all production and usage totaled into one hour. And I find that I’m signed out at random times, for no reason. I would just like to know what my house is consuming, what the panels are producing and some bar graphs for day, week, month etc. don’t really need to shown a day or night sky or birds or rain. Sunpower App
I love it. Fun to see the results of my solar project. I have enjoyed turning item on one at a time to see there KW usage. It does seem that during high levels of production my usage is recording as higher even though I know my usage is much lower. Some of the solar KW is recording as usage. It would be awesome if it was completely accurate. This is a very slight complaint in an app that is otherwise quite fun to use, and provides very useful information.

No grid consumption data
It has been over 3 weeks since I have my system installed and connected to the grid. It is performing great as evidenced by my utility company’s data from its website. The mySunPower app is pretty basic and doesn’t show grid consumption data. It only shows what my system is producing. I called my installer and they were able to get me the panel level data on the app but the grid consumption data is not there. From reading all the reviews here it seems that SunPower doesn’t seem to care about their suboptimal app. I saw a friends Tesla app and that was amazing and he paid far less money for his system than I did.

No issues
You buy something that’s quite expensive, with subsidies or not. Overall a big decision. What do you want? I get the numbers. Fair. But as a buyer you just want it to be as sold. No issues. No problems. Buy it and forget it. The team were great. Did a great job. No drama. It works. I cover my electric bill and it delivered as sold. It’s a utility, and any thought you give it is one thought too many. I’d recommend them easy.

mySunPower app difficult to read on iphone
I have been using the mySunPower app on my Apple iPad and iPhone for about three years. I am pretty happy with the performance and the choice of data displayed. My only complaint is that on the iPhone the text can be very difficult to read. The choice of colors and smaller fonts for the scales and any other text can be difficult to see. The background colors and again, small font sizes contributes to this and would be an easy change to make.

The app is great with per-panel monitoring fully integrated. There’s a ton more info than I expected in it. I like being able to see solar generation over a custom range. If anything, I’d like to see a weekly view or a “Bill Period” where you set what day your electric bill comes, but the app makes setting a custom range so easy I just do that. I love my SunPower panels and look forward to many decades of generation from them.

Lousy user interface
The app pretty much works, but its user interface is bad. The main thing I’m looking for in the app is a display of how much power my solar panels are generating. Indeed, the main screen of this app does display this info, but in an extremely small font, with a low contrast color. This makes the information difficult to read, especially outside. There’s no excuse for this, since the main screen is devoid of any other info, aside from the current household usage and the difference between the two (also rendered in a small font). The rest of the screen real estate goes to waste. Another annoyance is that when the app starts up or is otherwise waiting for a response from the server, it says something like “your solar panels are not generating any power”. You have to know to ignore this and wait a little while - though sometimes they really aren’t generating any power. These problems could easily be fixed.

Less than a year and no data
I’ve had my system for less than a year and monitoring system is down and I’ve had no data for the last couple months now. I’ve tried numerous amount of time to reach out to support via call, email, and chat. IT SO HARD TO GET A HOLD OF THEM. Honestly the WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT. I’m so baffled at the fact that you pay so much money for these and have the most worse support just to get someone out to fix my system. I had no option but to get them as this is the only system that came with my home but if I had an option, I would’ve gotten a different company. I’m still waiting for them to send someone to fix my system.

Keeps crashing
I like this better than the old web based one but it just started crashing out on my iPhone X and M1 Mac. Also on this app and the old one data is constantly outdated. On this app the time for the data is only sometimes visible. When looking back at older dates the data is often blank. An option to determine how long to keep data on my device would be great. I have plenty of space and would like to keep several years of data on my phone for quick comparison with current production.

Great app – Able to look at everything in system
Ever since they made some major changes a year or two ago, this app is a great thing to use. It gives me a great overview of how the system is charging at any particular time but the best thing I like is being able to look at an individual panel’s generation rate. It showed me right away when an inverter went bad and a panel stopped charging.

App has been stable and informative!
Update; living with app for 18 months now. IOS app continues be a reliable and fascinating source of information about how our no-longer new panels are doing daily, weekly, and monthly. Very satisfying to watch the savings pile up and carbon be forestalled. Would still be nice to able to tune the math of the “green savings” but all in all—great app and underlines my satisfaction with the system overall.

Works
After logout and logging back in, everything seems to be back on track and monitoring normally. After the latest update, app is showing wrong information. It shows kwh being produced but the graphic shows evening time and says grid is powering home. Also can’t see current and historical solar production anymore. Logging via website browser all the information is accurate and current. So the app is mucked up.

Worse than prior app
The new app looks prettier but offers less useful information and the comparison graphs are harder to compare usage vs what is generated. Why have a top and bottom graph view instead of an easy side by side bar graph like there used to be… also individual panel information would be nice to have like the last app and saw another customer mention this. Would be nice to customize the main home page or default what page the app opens up to. I just care about going straight to the analytics when opening the app. The home page seems useless to me.

Fixed app
I wrote a 1 star review saying the app wouldn’t open past the opening screen and then would crash. The next day it was fixed and they contacted me a few days later to let me know (I understand why it was a few days later, they had more than one person to respond to). I appreciate the prompt fix and response. Occasionally it loses data, to be honest, I’m not sure if that’s with my system or the app. Great app and I like all the features!

What’s Going on With the App?
I’m disappointed with the last few updates and performance of the app since Sep22. Seems that the company was updating their system which resulted in loss of data performance. Repeated calls to customer support was not much help. Monthly reports show no data since Sep22. Things started to get better in Mar23. However the latest update in Jun23 isn’t reflecting any data since Jun 14th. Despite all of this my system is generating power based on the inverter panel. Hope the company can get back on track so users can see and use data.

Hade the new version
If you are a kid and love cartoons, maybe you will like this app. If you are a geek looking for straightforward data, you will be disappointed. I truly dislike this app. This new version we have been forced into makes everything tiny and hard to read. The Week view is gone! The graph bars are so narrow and small. The numbers on the graph are tiny. Makes me really wonder what Sunpower was thinking in releasing this. Maybe only 10 year olds with good eyes are supposed to use this poorly designed app. The old app was so much better! I wish I never uninstalled it!
