I would like to take a moment to talk about this very unique outstanding design 5 star app! Sometimes I have found it hard in my life time to express into words how great something is. This my friends is one of the moments the Developer of this app has truly Designed an app that makes you just say Wow ! Not only is the weather data right on for myself at the locations where I am at, but the way this Great Developer gives you the information makes the weather so special! The Developer has put a great deal of time and hard work into this unique software and it shows! I hope anyone who takes the time to read this will download this unique outstanding design app and give it a try. I thank the Developer for making the weather special again I truly appreciate and tip my Hat to Him. Yes the app cost money but what great something in your life that you want to keep doesn’t cost? It’s very rare that an app comes along, gives us the weather with a weird quirk (like being an insulting little bot) and can make it fun. This app has a quirk and it’s that you can get positively unique with it in any sense of that word. And that’s a good thing. In your face graphic design, yet simple and concise. Not cluttered and certainly bold and shouty to compel you to look at it from the App Store page, and go “yes, I need this gracing my iPhone’s screen!” Not many Wx apps do this. Heck, not many apps, full stop, will do this, in this matter. For that matter of consistency though, as experience with an app will usually entail, one must ask: where’s the WATCH app and complication set? I feel it’s a missing aspect, missing link, to really getting the most of this app, let alone on other Apple platforms. Perhaps it’s in the pipeline. Nevertheless one can wait; for what it is now though, it’s an app that gives you the weather with no need to make it boring. Why use anything mainstream? Just get this.
Amazing interactive weather app, that makes checking weather a bit less “boring”
If you're looking for a very interactive weather app, that makes weather less boring... That has a clean modern design, which also follows Apple's/iOS design language... This is the App for you! I wish you could use the widgets without paying, but it is what it is, I guess. Other weather apps let you do that for free, and this one should too, even if it's just a basic free skin. Overall tho, I love the app and idea! I've showed it to multiple people that immediately loved it too, and wanted me to download it on their phone. They too were disappointed about having to pay for the widget aspect. I usually point them to the “boring weathers” widget, as it look very clean too, and is free. I just wish I could have that clean look from not boring weather. If I have the budget in the future… I will definitely be subscribing to it.
I must give it up. This is one of the best UX I’ve seen for any weather app. I’ve yiu are looking for a minimalist type weather app, with an incredibly elegant/intuitive UI - this is for you. I thought it would be another modified iOS skin, but the engineer really and truly understands ‘Next Gen’ UI concepts, and this app was much better than I anticipated. I imagine I am sure to check out his other suite of products. Finally, I will be curious if the roadmap for this engineer and his lineup of products. I get the sense anything he does will be enough to at least trial…but more curious if he will tackle a bunch of minimalistic util type apps…or start venturing in to other genres (note-taking, productivity management, news sources, etc). Hard to say but either way, for now..I am a fan.
First of all, I love this app. It’s simple but incredibly well designed. I’m coming from Carrot Weather and really everything I need is here as well. $15/year isn’t bad for a weather app with no ads considering how insanely expensive weather data is to get your hands on. The ONLY thing I’m missing is support for the Apple Watch. Maybe it’s there and I’m just overlooking it but I cannot for the life of me find it. Other than that one little detail, I’d say this app is dang near perfect for 99% of people’s weather needs.
Devs asked another reviewer for a more fun app — Weather Fit. Fun and practical. I have a reason to use WF over stock options, and using something daily helps justify the use of subscription over one-time purchases. Not Boring apps are undeniably cool, but the effort it takes to figure out how to actually want to use them regularly makes the subscription feel twice as expensive. Do the devs use their own apps daily? Or do they fall back onto stock options when they need speed, convenience, or even familiarity? I would guess the latter; this app is an excellent concept, but just hasn’t risen above “concept” yet. Maybe I’d feel differently if shelling out $40+ for the subscription and custom skins that reduce legibility meant nothing to me.
This app is lovely and very relaxing to use, however I would like to see a few changes. 1) With the latest update, it shows more info on every aspect of the weather, which is great. My issue is that with the previous view, you could actually see some of that info much more quickly and not have to swipe through several menus. The “Minimalist Mode” seems to do nothing as well. It would be nice to see Minimalist Mode turn it back to what it was originally. 2) Some of the UI doesn’t work as well or look nearly as nice on Zoomed mode on your iPhone instead of Standard.
This has to be one of the best-designed apps I have ever seen. Seriously. I love interacting with all the UI elements. The app, like its title says, is truly not boring. Additionally, it doesn’t skimp on functionality and has all the features you’d expect of a weather app. However, all of this good stuff is locked behind a subscription ($2 monthly and $15 yearly for the basic level, and $70 yearly for the premium level), That’s not even mentioning all the paid skins that are not included in the subscription. I’m happy to support developers, but I’d rather spend a little bit more on a one-time purchase rather than an indefinite subscription. This may be an amazing app, but it’s killed off by the subscription.

This app is amazing and I just love it. That is before the most recent update where they changed the feature where when you clicked on the temperature it would bring out arrows and info. Where as now it brings you to a whole new screen which is annoying, frustrating, and is hard to find what you are looking for. They also added a new font that I am personally not a fan of… The old font was way better. Besides those couple things I personally don’t have any problems with this app. PLEASE REVERT THE CHANGES IT WAS MUCH BETTER BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing and works the same if not better than the preset Apple weather app but for some things you do need to buy premium but I understand that just to keep the app running and I was thinking maybe as an addition to the app you could have friends and see the weather where your friends are and send them little GIFs or stickers that say “it’s chilly! Stay warm!” With a cup of hot chocolate. Or something like “yikes it’s quite hot today, stay hydrated!” With a glass of water next to it. Just an idea to make it “more then a weather app” but ya just some suggestions! Overall love the app though
I have been an interactive designer/developer for two decades. Every once in a while someone comes along and just blows your mind apart with a creative perspective, nose-grinding on the rail between utility and aesthetic value… a handful of normal folks will pan the app, complaining that the developer is asking for a couple bucks for his hard labor… but these people have very little taste, and honestly should not be given the unmitigated voice they have in the Wild West that is App Store reviews. This app is class, trust me. And I paid for it because it’s a work of art.
This app gives me all I need at a glance, plus it’s pleasant to look at. I’m not a meteorologist, so I don’t need to know the dew point and all that jazz. The bonus, the hidden cloud burst mini game gives me the opportunity to take my mind off the grind for a minute or two. It’s quickly becoming my go to app for weather. I love its simplicity! To the devs: please resist the incessant calls for “it could use a…” which will turn it into just another over crowded weather app that’s difficult to navigate. It’s perfect the way it is.
Like many Dark Sky fans I was looking for a replacement. This is not it. The description says for ages 4 and up. It might be useful for kids but not for adults. There’s no radar, no hourly info detailing precipitation or wind. To see the “forecast” for the next day you have to hold your finger on that day. You get a cute dancing graphic that gives you exactly the information you would get from a paper newspaper. Or from looking out your window. It certainly does not provide enough information to make outdoor plans, maybe enough to know if you need a hat 🤣. If you’re mourning the loss of Dark Sky this is not your answer. And certainly not worth a paid subscription
Fun and interesting—not utilitarian, not always accurate
Love where this is heading, but for now I don’t find myself consistently using it. I’m not sure why. I think usually when I’m trying to check the weather, I want to know something specific, efficiently. This doesn’t really get you there. And that’s not the point. It feels like this could be ahead of it’s time—it’s almost like it’s designed primarily for augmented reality, and this is just a POC on touch screens. But we’ll see! For now, keep up the great work.
The design of the app is amazing! Hands down, one of the best looking and clever weather apps available. I’m sorry to see, however, that the developers (like so many others) have jumped on the subscription-based bandwagon. It’s impossible to purchase an app anymore! Everything is $1, $2, $5, $10 a month - from movies to music to news to weather apps… everything is a monthly payment. I don’t know if users don’t notice or don’t care, but IT ADDS UP! So, congrats to the developers, but I’m out. If you ever decide to offer your product at a reasonable price ($10 seems fair for a weather app), I’ll be back. For now, though, I unfortunately have to delete the app.
I would use this app sooo much more if I was just able to replace my weather widgets with widgets from this app (I usually just click on my weather widget when I want more details) but it is a premium only feature. Why? I get it if you wanna make different UI packages and make people pay for those that’s understandable, but widgets have become a fundamental part of most weather apps and if would make more people actually want to use the app.

I really enjoy the fun animations. The only issue I really have is it being a weather app and there not being a radar to look at. And that is one of the most important parts of any kind of weather site or app in my opinion. It seems to me that the creator could really shine in that area and could create something very unique and just make this app so far ahead of any other weather site if they would do something with a radar. Hopefully we see this in the future. I know yall can do it! Thanks!
It’s good, but could be better. You need more free options for skins. $10 for a skin is ridiculous, it’s a weather app. $16 dollars for advancements? Are you kidding me? It’s incredible? More like incredibly expensive! Needs to be cheaper, it’s a weather app! Not a game that you’re gonna use. You pick the device up, click the app, look, and walk off! It’s not a game, it’s not something you’re really gonna use for more then 15 minutes. More free options, or cheaper items. It’s ridiculously expensive.
Best weather app. I really like all the little hidden aspects to, like being able to pop the clouds. All I wish was different was that the different fonts? I dont know what to call them but like the different types of letters and stuff could be purchased individually. Not in a subscription. And that it wasn’t a subscription but a one time thing. But even still it’s awesome for being free!
I found it the most beautiful elegant Marvelous app looking and useful in different ways and design and details are not looking as others, but what make me sad is expensive fees I have to pay to get all furthers but in other hand I got satisfied with a free version. I would like to thank the developers for the wonderful vision and for sure I will share it for all my relatives and friends
I love all the not boring apps but this has to be by far my favorite one. I even found myself sometimes just going on the app just because I love the look of it and how satisfying it is. I have been looking for the perfect weather app for the longest time and I know that I found it with one. I highly recommend it for everyone to give it a try!
Turns out the “widget updates” in version 3.6 was just moving all the widgets behind a paywall. I very much liked having this app as my Home Screen widget, the design is beautiful, but asking $15 for just the widgets is not worth it. $5 I could see but not $15 when it’s just for the design; the functionality is nothing different than a host of other apps. Shame. Other note: It’s slow to update the weather sometimes on the widgets (you have to click into it to update sometimes). Worth noting if you’re planning on spending.
This app is visually amazing. I get asked about it a lot if someone sees me playing around with it. It operates smoothly and I didn’t mind the little bit of money I had to spend on it. I know it’s a minimalist app so it’s supposed to be simple but I’d love a radar feature. Then it would truly and completely replace my default Apple Weather app
No, I don’t want to pay a subscription for widgets.
I really love this apps style and widgets, which is why it’s so disappointing that widgets are now locked behind a subscription in the latest update ( previously they worked without a subscription ). Would I pay a small one time fee for the widgets and extra features? Absolutely. I really do like this app. However I am not willing to pay a subscription, no matter how cheap, for something that offers the same functionality of the iOS weather widget.
This ain’t your parents weather app. It’s a very cool design and with plenty information. You even have the ability to change the data source for pinpoint accuracy of your area. Plenty of skins to choose from to customize your experience. The apps’ widgets are the prettiest I’ve seen too.
This is the best weather app I’ve used, it’s very interesting and very well designed, and for the people that are saying that it is a scam to pay 20 a year, the artists need to make money somehow and that already give you plenty of free options, and as soon I can afford those 20 a year since I am a teen, I’ll be sure to do it!
Love this app, and all the others. Its such a great revival and it genuinely makes using my phone fun again. However, it’s $30 yearly to have the full versions of the apps? There’s no option for a lifetime one-time purchase, which is a downside for me. Whether you think it’s expensive for mobile apps or not, keep up the good work and continue making tech fun!
This is my new favorite weather app. Looks good and is intuitive; one thing I'd like to see improved are the lock screen widgets. I'd love a slightly wider lock screen widget that contains temp, hi, low, and conditions. Right now I've got to add two different temperature widgets to see all 4 metrics mentioned, which causes a bit redundancy. Otherwise, A+!
You get the same information from other higher end weather apps but in a simple UI. It’s an enjoyable twist on your typical weather app too. Very well done, and a huge thanks for being a developer who appreciates users who hate having their data mined to an extreme in order to use an app.
Wow wow wowww! I’ve never seen anything like this app. The visuals are stunning and unique and 4 different options to check on weather with multiple skins (with membership) . I usually never pay for membership but had to with this app and can’t wait to see how they update this to bigger and better
Every time you want to check the weather, start a timer, you first have to sit through 5 seconds of the company logo. Sounds like not an issue, but this is an example of form over function. If I just wanted to know the weather, I could open Apple’s app and instantly see, then switch apps. But if I wanted to do that here, it’s that little extra wait every time. So I had to delete. 🤷🏻♂️
These apps, especially weather, always make me smile when I use them- I really enjoy the fact that mundane daily tasks can actually bring joy. Well worth the price- it’s in the ballpark of a movie ticket or a new book from a favorite author. Excited to see what comes next!
I downloaded the suite after seeing it on MKHBD videos a few times. It is such a unique and beautiful app that makes the mundane seem interesting. There is a yearly and monthly subscription cost BUT I wish there was a lifetime cost which would make this a 5 star app. I honestly love the apps as they are and just don’t want to have a yearly or monthly subscription cost.
The apps that they make are great it’s in the name, not boring multiple apps so it’s fun to use daily, you don’t have to get super boring upgrade if you want but I would recommend it. Please use all these apps one of the greatest apps that I’ve used please give this app five stars like I did!😊
Love the love and feel of the app. It’s minimalist touch is 100% the best weather app I’ve used and plan on keeping as my main day to day. I’m unfortunately not able to use the widget during my beta and hoping for an update soon since it’s such a clean look on my screen.
I just got this app and I’m already using it every time I check the weather. Also, I use it just to fidget around when I’m bored. I love this app and it design. Everything is worth it buying this. All the other apps are great, too! I’m convinced this is one of the best apps on the App Store.
I’m sitting in my living room looking out the window at the cloudy, dreary weather. Although Not Boring Weather says that it’s bright and sunny outside. This is a very common occurrence. The app also gets the temperature wrong a lot of the time. I like the graphics but unfortunately, with a most of the graphics, you can’t clearly see what the numbers say, it might look cool, but that useless if you can’t tell what the numbers are. Unreliable.
Wonderful little weather app from an independent developer. I love the thought and care that went into making it. The interface biases towards clean and concise but the details are still easily accessible. Five stars and well worth the price.
Who can afford a subscription for nearly every app you want to use? It adds up fast. I’d rather suffer through ads (some) or pay a one time fee. Even pay a mother fee after so many versions just to stay up to date. But $2 a month over here, $1 monthly there, $4 over here, and so on. Pretty soon your shelling out $30 an month. No thanks. This one is a little on the high side for me.
I loved using this app and I think it has a lot of potential in providing great design to my iPhones app screen but suddenly putting widgets behind a subscription paywall has deflated this app for me. I had spent money on one of the artists designs and loved that it was part of my screen but a basic feature of an iPhone app shouldn’t be behind a monthly pay wall. Short sighted greed that undercuts any potential this app truly had.
Can I make a request? Please allow to change the names of the locations, I have four areas in Los Angeles that I search for weather that actually do change in temp, and on the search section, it just says “LOS ANGELES, LOS ANGELES, LOS ANGELES, LOS ANGELES”. I hate having to retype the address to know who is who. Otherwise, it’s a cool and well made app!!
It tells me the weather. Pretty accurately in comparison to my outdoor electronic thermometer. So they must be pulling data from an accurate provider. It’s that app that you go to just to check if you need a jacket or umbrella. I have another app that gets down in the nitty gritty details.
It's ridiculous that they charge so much for this app. It's a dumbed down version of a weather app. Nowhere near the data of free apps. Glad o didn't purchase the yearly subscription. If you are so bored and have nothing better to do than spin the temperature, this app is for you. They make it sound like it's something fun but it's not. It's just a 3D image you can spin. They don't give you a trial option because they know you would never pay the money once you tried it.
I never / won’t install 3rd party mods onto my Apple devices, but Weather is beautiful enough to make the cut. Also - when I ran into some issues with installing the app on my iPad, the app’s support team resolved the concerns immediately. Top marks.

I rarely write reviews on apps but I have to say I LOVE the intuitive design and interface of your creations! I want to see more apps such as a calendar, note taking app or maybe a browser. I just love the unique designs can’t wait to see more! Great work!
This is a fantastic app that delivers exactly what it advertises. The minimalistic screen looks so beautiful and functions perfectly. The added surprise of a built-in game is simply wonderful. It has become my favorite, number one, go to weather app.
I have been using all of the Not Boring apps for a few years now and I love all of them. I play the cloudburst game often and they are just really fun apps to play I think. Can’t wait to see what Andy comes up with next.
This weather is actually just like it says, not boring, but please make the weather sources free, the sources used to be free but now you have to pay for them, still a pretty good weather app otherwise
