Two Thumbs Up

The OBDeleven Vag application, combined with the OBDeleven NextGen device, proved to be a game-changer for my 2022 Audi Q5. Not only did it effortlessly reset the Inspection Due warning on my dashboard, but the diagnostic scan also uncovered 5 hidden issues I wasn't aware of, swiftly resolved with a simple button press. While the Inspection Due reset required a small additional cost for the add-on application, the savings it brought in comparison to a traditional service easily justified the investment. The intuitive pairing process and the ability to address multiple issues make this device and app combo a cost-effective and highly valuable solution for Audi owners. It's definitely deserving of two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Scammy Model and Often Won’t Work

I knew going in that this was a cost plus model where not only you have to buy the hardware (expensive hardware) but you have to buy “points” to unlock the upgrades and general right to use it but the previews made it look like every upgrade was 5-10 points and i paid the extra for it to come with 200 points so no way I’d run out right? Wrong. What they don’t tell you is all the good upgrades can cost 100 points plus and here’s the catch, they take those points whether the upgrade works or not. Tried to add the driver assistance to my car for over half my points and turns out it doesn’t work! Guess I just wasted all my points. Costs 15 dollars for every upgrade “ATTEMPT” essentially. So better hope it works the first time! You get points every day you sign in so they can gain access to sell your data most likely but this is only one point per day, so after 100 days of letting them steal your data you get 1 free upgrade. What a joke. IMO this is going way too far into this pay to play model. I paid 200 dollars for this device and your costs are fixed. Why do I have to pay out the nose every time I want to change my light configuration?? One star for the 1 or 2 upgrades that worked before I ran out of points. The couple hundred points wasted on attempts that didn’t takes away the rest.

Customer Service is terrible

I bought a NextGen device on Black Friday and have not even been able to connect to it one time yet. I have been in contact with the support for almost a month and half and hve gotten nowhere. I have told them multiple times that the device cannot be found and there is an issue with the Bluetooth of the device. I have used several phones, and tried it on several cars and not a single one has worked. You are lucky if you a get a response once a day from them. I have been asked at bare minimum a half a dozen times to send them an error log when I do not get any errors because the device CANNOT connect. I have asked them multiple times and on how to submit a warranty to send the device back and have it fixed or get a new one, and every time they disregard my questions. Then miraculously one day I was told they connected to it remotely which would be impossible because the device wasnt even plugged in and they somehow fixed the issue. But I tried connecting to it again with the same result. I still have not gotten any help on how to submit a warranty after a month and a half. Overall I am extremely disappointed in the customer service. If i could give this a 0 star review I would.

Does not work with MIB3 Multimediac

I purchased the Unit and the application for my VW 2021 Tiquan and it would not work. I contacted support and they sent me the reply below - that starts with “hello” . I have had over 6 email correspondence with this company to deactivate delete and not bill me for use of this App since they informed me the device is not compatible even though their website says, compatible with my vehicle , and the app shows lane assist warn as an option to modify. Additionally, their website says they will refund if asked if you have not used an option. Well I can’t use an option and they still refuse to delete and deactivate and not bill my account. The good news is Applecdecline the first time OBDelevej tried to bill me, so all I want is for them to deactivate delete and not future bill me. They refuse to address this. Below is the reply from their support and almost a week later they have not honored my request. As a matter of fact they refuse to even mention in their replies that ai repeatedly ask them to deactivate and delete my account. A simple request. Hello, thank you for your message. Sorry to hear that you are having issues. I can see that you hve the newest Tiguan with MIB3 multimedia. We do not know how to deactivate this function for this model yet. Not Worth It

I bought this knowing about the point system and subscription upgrades, but I thought it would still be worth the cost of the dongle. The app does scan and clear fault codes and the customer service was pretty good, which is why I gave this three stars. When it comes to modifications (part of the reason I got this over something else), I had a ton of trouble. The only mods you can do with a base subscription are apps, not coding (from what I could tell). The app descriptions are confusing and one of the few apps I bought failed. When I tried to revert to factory settings, the app wouldn’t let me change anything so the car was still glitching out; finally fixed it today on a fluke. I think I’m done with the hassle of using this app. If you can get it to work for you, then more power to you.

Since I have received my Next Gen OBDeleven, I have fixed my Audi A4 B7 airbag faults, identified many little faults and fixed them to include engine mount faults, door panel control faults, and most importantly the AC system. So easy to just connect and read live data rather than getting a laptop out and deal with that. Only issue I have is, not a lot of information loaded into the app when coding under details, and some of the modules can’t be opened. Overall, very simple and very helpful when troubleshooting issues on the car. Keep th updates comeing and thank you

Doesn’t work with my 2007 Beetle.

I own 2 Volkswagens; a 2016 GTI and I just purchased a 2007 Beetle. The pro version works well with the GTI but wouldn’t detect the Beetle for some reason until I would enter the VIN. Once it did connect, it would only read the engine control module. I opened a ticket with their support department and they claim I need to send in my dongle to be repaired. This doesn’t make sense to me as it seems to work perfectly fine with my ‘16 GTI. I’m certainly not comfortable shipping this device all the way to Lithuania. In fact, I’m sure shipping probably costs as much as a buying a new device. This device is nice because I can keep it in my glovebox and don’t need to carry a laptop around like I did when I had my VCDS cable, but it’s all but useless for one of the 2 cars I own.

No more free Credits, but works well w/ newer vehicles

If you plan on making a lot of customizations, you will be better off with more reasonable competitors like Carista, VCDS and others. Before July 1, 2022 the app gave one free daily Credit and allowed watching ads (which pays the developer revenue) to get up to five Credits. This is no longer an option and Credits must be purchased anywhere between US$0.20 and US$0.30 per Credit. Each action is typically 10 Credits, with the best ones at 100 Credits. That’s easily between US$3 and US$30 per action, even if they fail. This is the biggest downside since the July 1st change. The Pros is that it works very well on newer vehicles - I have had good experience with Audis and VWs. You should always read the One-Click Apps description before attempting them to make sure you have a compatible vehicle and follow the right steps. All actions in the app require Credits, including One-Click Apps - Credits will be charged whether they succeed or fail.

Good capabilities but gets very expensive fast

I have the Pro license. I am still being asked to buy additional credits for every single customisation or ready to use app. You want to reset your oil change light - it will cost you credits. You want to change your rear brake pads - it will cost you credits! Yes, even for these basics you will need to buy credits, even if you have the “pro” license. It’s a true nickel and dime experience with this product. It used to be better when they had the option to watch ads and get free credits. This option is gone now and the paid credits cost more too. Very greedy approach given that there are other similar but much cheaper options out there. I can’t recommend this app anymore.

I want to love this app but...

Where to start. One star for user interface. Clean well designed. Another star for the idea behind it - vehicle diagnostics on iPhone via Bluetooth - whaaa! But you fail me after that. It takes bloody forever to scan the car. 5-8 minutes? Come on. More than half the times I try to scan, the app freezes, I think it has to do with your iPhone displaying sleeping. Turn off the display sleep setting on your iPhone or turn up to 5 mins before display sleeps. But if the app does freeze midway there is no recovering. Force quit the app. Turn off and restart the vehicle. Restart the app. Pray to sweet Jesus if you’re into that. For me personally I wish I had just bought an old fashioned reader with a cord dongle attached.

Works great on iOS

The software works perfectly on my 2021 Audi S4 and iPhone 12. Minor warning: I didn’t know that each time you change a setting, it charges you - instead, I thought that the credits were used to buy the function… so be sure what you’re changing to is what you want. I reached out to customer service on this issue and they were very accommodating. Ultimately, it’s a great product!

Useless

You can’t do anything without the pro subscription that you can’t do with a $5 ELM327. So after paying $95 for the adapter, I had to pay $65 for a “subscription”. After the subscription the single feature I needed (dpf regen) simply did not work. You have to know a bunch of codes just to get where you need to be and then I just get some cryptic info about the test being cancelled. I tried a different tool that works on any car before this and it seemed to know more about the car than this supposedly VW specific tool. Mega waste of money and now I assume Apple will refuse my refund request and I’m going to be out $150 on this whole thing. Just buy a regular scan tool this thing is garbage.

Does not work as advertised

This app has been the biggest scam yet. I purchased this app believing that I could reset the service interval on my 2014 Audi A6. Come to find out after already buying the $80 device and $100 for a year PRO subscription, I still have to purchase 10 credits ($4 each) to reset the service interval on my car for a grand total of $200 spent trying to use this junk. After several attempts at reaching customer service (which is non existent) I am very upset with my experience with OBD11 and will now have to take my car to the dealership in order to finish this simple task, something that this device should easily do.

Great app

Anyone slamming this app must not have any idea how to use it. The tool works great and allows you to perform many task and avoid having to go to a dealer. You can avoid having to use points by simply researching performing the same functions through long coding

A tiny brick. Can’t log in and no support available.

I am very frustrated with this product. I simply want to do a scan of my vehicle however, the app requires you to log into your account. I set up an account months ago with my Apple ID when I try to use the app today it refuses to allow me to login with my Apple ID account, when I go to the Support chat, I’m greeted by an automated chatbot that can’t help me. It suggest I talk to an agent. There are no agents online today. I am out of luck. This is very inconvenient. I do not recommend this device or app.

Major monetary changes this month!!

I was super excited to get and use this product. I bought the tool with 100 credits and was expecting to use the built in credit harvesting for additional credits over time. This only worked for about two weeks before they took away the ability to earn additional credits over time and left you to pay even more money for those credits. If you hate having money in your wallet, this is the solution for you. ** Please restore ads or another means to earn credits. And I would gladly update my review. **

Worse customer service

You buy a product with ONE YEAR pro. You decide you want to link your Apple ID to your account which is a “feature” but in order to do this. You MUST delete your existing account. Doing this YOU LOSE PRO ($65 a year) and they are like oooops sorry you deleted and recreated your account so my pro features are gone. STAY AWAY. LOOK ELSEWHERE. If they CARED they would make it easier for you to link your Apple ID to an exiting account. Nope. They use this to force more money out of you. Still get runaround from Renatas. The most unhelpful tech support agent I have dealt with in years.

Great app, but costs too much

I have had the pro version and free version for this devise and I really like it. It has tons of options and it’s easy to use! The reason for the 1 star rating is because of one thing… I was doing my brakes and had to pay to retract the rear calipers which I was okay with($2.99). The part I thought was greedy was when I was finished and went to enable the brakes, I had to pay again($2.99). I of course had to do it since I was stuck without a choice. I just felt that was pretty shady. Other than that, I would give it 5 stars.

Subscription Prices Doubling every year

The yearly subscription for the pro level has doubled in the past year and is now as much as the hardware costs now. I dislike the dishonest and cash grab business model that promises one thing and then shortly after takes it away. Examples: free credits (now gone), lifetime subscriptions (now gone), yearly subscriptions (now cost almost as much as going to a mechanic). The apps are insanely expensive for what they are as well and you pay per single use. The service used to be great, it is no longer is worth the price.

Very good app, just wish some important things were free.

The app is awesome and very user friendly. If I had one complaint, I just wish that service related apps/adaptations were free. For example, I don’t want to pay $70 just to change 1 number so the car knows the battery was changed. Also, $70 for ONE year of the pro plan? Really? If I'm paying $70, I want it for lifetime.

New App Icon

It is sad to see companies jump into certain political issues over others. I know it’s the easy way out to just follow what see on social media or the mainstream news but where we’re you at when other countries were under attack, changing your icon for autism awareness, other all the many other causes. I understand it’s your right to choose so thanks for sharing where your company stands by showing another country’s flag. It’s too bad you’re not making a stand for all those that need help in this country.

Not terrible except…

For some reason I cannot get this app to run a TBA. It continues to tell me the function is not available on my 1.8t Jetta. Might have to switch to vcds soon. Pretty disappointed especially for the price of this hardware it should work properly. Looking into forums it’s easy to see this issue still hasn’t been fixed and it was brought up in 2016… Other than that it’s pretty good tool. Quick scan, and accurate. Please fix your functions.

I am Seriously disappointed in this application’s requirement to log in each time it is used. I’ve been on the road more than once, when I needed to use it he software to read or diagnose an issue, and I am unable to log in! It’s like holding ransom! I’ve already paid for the software and a lot of credits, but it’s worthless if I can’t get in when I most need it. I would NOT recommend this application for this reason! I’ve written to the company about this; it was ignored.

Scam! Also WTH is this new logo?

Pricing is a complete scam. WTH am I supposed to keep paying for? I already payed for the device and 70EUR for Pro! They could sell new cars support for a fixed price and this is what they used to have, but no, now they want you to keep paying for something you already paid for even if you never going to get single new feature because your vehicle is old enough and there’s nothing new to add for it. Also WTH is this new logo? Symbolic though. Marks steep decline in value after lifetime license removal.

Won’t work right with iPhone 11 on newest IOS

To get it to communicate with my car I have to do a series of unplugging and plugging dongle in, turning phone off and on over and over until it finally gets off the “reading control units” and I am able to scan and communicate with my vehicle. Pretty disappointed that it has this many issues working correctly. Not to mention anytime I do an adaptation it immediately says “error” even though it still runs the ADP without an issue. Lot of bugs you guys need to work out.

Buggy

The system is buggy and not that user friendly. Seems like whenever I want to perform a function it doesn’t work and I have to contact support which takes 1 day to reply. For example I was performing a brake pad replacement and needed to retract the electric parking brake. This function in the app simply didn’t work and I had the vehicle already apart. I ended up going with a complete different method. In this case OBD eleven simply wasted my time.

Robbery

I used to love this app. I used it daily on my 6 Audis and had over 20 friends buy an ObdEleven for themselves. Now due to a “policy change” aka money hungry decision the device is basically a cash grab. Seriously don’t waste your time with this. We are all exploring other options to dump pur ObdEleven devices for something more honest and less of a dupe, especially for us Obdeleven “Pro” users. BEWARE!!! No longer can yoh watch ads for free credits or get rewarded daily for using the app, its all now money money money

Bait n switch, turned paid product into advertising spam

Bought a premium version of the product to unlock the extra features, but devs got greedy and removed them behind extra charges. As if that wasn’t bad enough, they then decide it’s ok to spam your notifications constantly with their latest promotional sales, to buy back the features that they stole. If I didn’t need the app to interface with the device, I wouldn’t even have it installed.

Please hurry with the coding on iOS!

I’ve used the app for several things on my car but there are so many more things I’d like to do with coding, I was excited to see an update today but unfortunately it didn’t add coding yet. It’s almost April and the roadmap says coding is scheduled or the first quarter. I love the device it’s easy to use for scanning and changing small things but we need coding! And update on when we can expect it?

Awesome!

Why so much bad ratings? I used OBD11 in 15 different cars, from 2002 to 2020 manufacturing year. Worked flawlessly everywhere, apps work, codings and adaptations work. It needs 1-2 minutes to scan all modules, I really don’t get these people who are saying it’s bad. Keep up the good work!

It works great

Both the device and the app works great. So much cheaper then VCDS but don’t expect the same level of control. Just follow the instructions and you won’t have any problems. I highly recommend.

Slow

It takes a while to scan any of our multiple mk-4&5. The alternative barista is at least twice as fast but when I bought that everything was free then went ala cart so I thought I would try the 11. I know people people need to make money but give me something for buying your device to work with your software. Disappointed. Costs too much for consumer.

App problems

Had the device for about a year. Have used it multiple times. Today my check engine light came on for the first time since I’ve owned the car. Went to plug it in and it says my device is not supported. Says it only works with the next generation, which is what I have. The couple times it did connect, it starts to scan and then just closes the app and then I’m back to it being useless again

Not what I expected

After spending $100+ I thought I could to many things I’m limited to certain things how long till it’s a done who knows I bought the pro version for no reason at this point yes there still scanning the vehicle and other small things but I would like use the app to its full capacity I change my fuel filter on my car every 10k intervals and I would like to use the fuel system future but it’s still under developing

Poor UX

The app and website are poorly integrated. Purchasing a sub outside of the app does not guarantee it will work in the app without issues. Logging in with my Apple ID works fine on my MacBook, but seems broken on the app. Also, the password reset didn’t work on my phone, their website gave me a JSON error. Support not available during US business hours. Overall, kind of a PITA. I expect more for the almost $150 I paid for this whole setup.

Not worth it!

Without the paid plans you can’t even scan fault codes with secondary symptom codes. Only VCDS and dealer tool can do that. You can’t perform any retrofit without paying extra. And their obd harware isn’t chep either. Another issue is that if you don’t have great data service, like in a garage for example, it will not work since it requires internet connection for no reason for even basic tasks such as scanning basic fault codes. Go for VCDS!

Not too bad

I know the credit system but even just for off-the-app, they want credit for it. To be honest, it is a kind of opportunist, the turn signals w/open doors app didn't work on my 2020 Jetta GLI I spent 20 credits to figure it out but nothing happened. There is something wrong with it.

Doesn’t do all they say it will do , I got the pro version and now I get the feeling they want you to upgrade to the ultimate OBDeleven. Then they will surly have another if I were to upgrade at only $200 / five or take a few US dollars … I have yet to get it to do more than clear codes . My mirrors fold and I can do things like that in my car settings , minus a OBDeleven.. I would not buy again !

Gen one

When I received the gen one in the mail last week it wouldn’t work with this upgraded app. They sold me a product knowing it wouldn’t work. Plus I upgraded to the pro version and that turned out to be more salt in the wound. This app and product are very misleading. Why would you charge for the pro version only to having to pay more for additional In app purchases?! We are paying for the pro version to have access to all options available.

I cant change my vehicle type.

It shows the wrong gti and now it doesn’t even give me the option to change it. Like come on. I cant even change the car. ?? And now I lost my credits didn’t use a single ONE!

Works pretty well for me

Everything I used so far has worked pretty well for me for my MK7.5 Golf GTI. I haven’t had any issues regarding scanning the car’s modules, using the apps, and adaptations whatsoever. Although hopefully they can release the data plotting features soon, since it’s been quite a while now.

App simply will not work.

I have gone through their entire trouble shooting guide and I can’t even register an account. Gives network error every single time. Restart phone. Change WiFi. No wifi. I have tried every way and still same error persist. Customer help is non existent other than an automated bot with general information. Really upset for the amount of money purchased at…..

Buying it, I knew I wouldn’t have all aspects available yet. I bought it knowing they’d be coming and become more and more useful. So far, App’s have worked as expected and no issues. It’s been fun to walk through and see what it can do.

Scam

Bought the pro version. Was running in my cell phone. Then I got a new cell phone and re-downloaded the app for the device I already own. They’ve ‘upgraded’ their device and the app no longer works with the device I bought only a few months ago. The error message I’m getting states that I now need to buy the new device. That’s BS and I’m not buying another one. I’m also going to spread the word to stay away from this product...

Turn notification’s off

Product worked very well for me, easily identify’s my fault codes and what they mean for my car. One complaint: Notifications are out of control, don’t turn them on.

Majority of functions are currently broken, and support has been poor

I recently bought the “PRO Pack” with high hopes. Unfortunately, my experience with this setup has been very poor. The software does not “see” modules that VCDS readily does. It’s also currently unable to make coding changes to the majority of the modules it does see, so this makes the tool nearly useless for anything beyond basic “scan tool” functions. I’ll be returning for a refund.

Doesn’t work!

Bought this in January after calling US reseller to check compatibility with my car. Purchased iOS obd11 connector after receiving assurance that it would be able to scan airbag module and reset faults. It has NEVER worked! Tech support just gives empty promises about adding support in upcoming releases. I’m trying to be patient but at some point you just give up. Do not do business with these guys—they just take your money and fail to deliver.

Lost functionality.

I have the vag pro version. Since last update I lost all long coding functionality menu. It says the function is not available. ODB eleven has the worst customer service known to man. Nobody answered me to tell me why. I have emailed them 2 times. I received an email stating that the ticket will be closed based on the resolution provided, even though I did not receive a solution.

What a fail for the company.

Had the old version one of the first ones that cost me $25, but since I wanted one for iPhone I decided to get the one for $100 since was supposed to be wayyy faster then the old version. I’m having hard time connecting to my car, I have to restart phone and plug couple times to my car and when it connects this thing is 20 times slower than old version. Definitely waste of money.
