I graduated from college almost a year ago and with the way the job market is going at this point in time I’ve come to a realization that I must spend a large amount of time working on my skills in order to separate myself from the crowd, and because of this, I’ve been pretty hopeless about what seems to be a lack of opportunities for someone like me. Otta has really started to give me hope in my career with how supportive it is. Even though I dont feel ready to apply yet, the app is constantly being updated and even notices behaviors in my browsing such as when I was skipping on jobs involving SaaS (which I didnt even notice) and asked me if I wanted to omit those specific job listings. The team behind this app include descriptions of the companies in these listings and their story which easily lets me understand their upbringing and motives. I can go on and on but I’m overall grateful for this app and how great the experience has been. When my time comes to start applying this will be an amazing tool for me.
As a sales professional I have done my fair share of job hunting. SaaS has been my industry of choice. Many job boards struggle to keep you in your lane with job suggestions, almost like they forget your preferences after the first few suggested jobs. Otta has found jobs that are perfect fits for me time and time again. I get notifications so I can apply asap when a new job is on the market. It’s user friendly and the interface is so simple and satisfying to use. The insights about the company are also an amazing value add so you don’t have to jump around to different sites to find the information you need to decide if you should apply or not. 10/10 recommend this tool.
Last year, I started my profile via desktop. I’ve never used it to its fullest potential, but navigating through Otta is very intuitive and easy. I love how innovative it is and hope many more people check out this platform. I’ve been using it more often recently and applying to jobs is so easy through this platform. I refer it to everyone I know looking for a job.
If the effort was to make an easy-apply mobile experience similar to LinkedIn then this fell short. You can’t easy apply, you must go to job poster’s website and do the whole process. You spend time building a profile that doesn’t get seen by others on the site or even used in your application process unless you export a PDF of that info from the app and send that directly through the job poster’s website. You would’ve already had that info on hand so to enter it into Otta does essentially nothing, especially when job posters aren’t searching Otta for candidates, they’re simply waiting for Otta to send people their way. The only point of Otta is they show you some highly competitive jobs in a nice UI.
I used Otta in my job search as a software engineer from March to October 2023. Otta was by far the most useful app I found to show me relevant jobs with the seniority level, tech stack and salary range I was looking for. Having a daily selection of jobs given every day made it easeful and even exciting. I landed a job that I applied to with Otta and I’ll almost miss my daily jobs digest ;-)
I just created a profile and have already applied for a job. This app is incredible because it finds jobs that are a good match for ME instead of having to endlessly scroll through LinkedIn to find jobs that don’t match my experiences and qualifications.
Overall, this app is extremely simple to use and makes job searching easier. My only complaint is that I wish they would let you add a leadership filter to sales and solutions engineering as setting it to expert level isn’t enough to filter out non-leadership roles. They have leadership roles separated for other types of tech jobs—would love if they’d do the same for all.
This is a good app, often it takes you to the company site to apply. But I get less responses and more ghosting from the companies posting here. It’d be nice to rate them, because it’s a waste of my time to apply for jobs that aren’t going anywhere. it takes time for applicants to craft a custom resume and cover letter only for it to go unread.
Great idea. The interface is good, easy to navigate BUT THATS IT. The search preferences are design to not filter out your preferences. It will show you what you want to avoid. Why!? Because that’s all they got. No reputable companies. Mostly start ups. Oh and it always directs you away from the app. Just stick to the main stream job search platforms.
I love the UI, and I have found a lot of jobs that match my criteria to apply to. Unfortunately, the apply button in the app doesn’t work. At all. Every time I click it, it changes to “loading” for a second and then nothing happens. It’s really annoying to have to go to each company’s website to find the job and apply.
There is a great feature to exclude industries from the search, however I excluded "Sales" and 95% of the jobs include sales of some form in the roles. Otherwise its a great, fast and convenient way to search and apply for jobs.
Least amount of job call backs between any apps including zip recruiter…. Everyone knows zip isn’t even all that great. Looks great on the outside but isn’t really. Also, selecting different types of roles and the entry level you are trying to enter they still recommend well beyond and out of the scope of interest.
What kind of job board doesn’t include salary information? I won’t bother wasting time applying to jobs on any other job board that omits their salary information, why would I use a job board that doesn’t even list a single salary range? This is dumb and I hate the stranger that suggested this app.
Otta could be great if it allowed users to report job postings. Most are reposted for months on end. I have heard back from 0 of the 200 jobs I applied to on Otta, making its callback % the lowest of Linkedin, Indeed, and Ziprecruiter. Avoid.
This app has to be worst I’ve ever used for a job board .. there isn’t a way to reach out to employers… there is barely a way to track progress and the majority of roles I’ve applied for I have heard absolutely nothing back from 10000% don’t recommend
