Got this machine to replace a previous feeder with no app or digital interface. That machine had a button that, when pressed, would release the next scheduled feeding early. I am really surprised no such feature exists in this app for this more advanced feeder. You can only set feeding times and amounts OR manually have it dispense a feeding at the touch of the button. But if my cat is getting antsy/loud for her food early, I will have to dispense a manual feeding, turn off the next feeding so she’s not over fed, then remember to turn it back on after the time passes. It also does not notify when the feeder is getting low, only when it’s totally out. Even so, the notification doesn’t come through all the time, so that feature is mostly useless and I have to try to remember to track it myself. Overall ok, but honestly not a major upgrade from my last one with some lacking features.
I’m using the Granary Feeder. This app does not have an option to provide an automatic notification that the feeding happened. Instead I have to set a manual notification (basically like a calendar reminder but within this app) to come from the app at the time of feeding and then check the cameras on the feeder to make sure the food was dispensed or check the log of the feeder. Both actions still require me to check the app manually. Really want an app update that could just notify of a successful scheduled feeding automatically, with no need to open the app the check, especially when I’m not home to hear or see in person that the food was dispensed. Otherwise a really great upgrade from my last feeder. My cats aren’t able to get their paws inside the food shoot to grab the waiting food. I now have a camera to see them eating. And the overall design is much more pleasing to look at with a smaller food print too. Petlibro please make this update! :)
I loved the convenience of this thing before the latest update. Every time I try to update it takes forever and then ends up saying it stopped the update due to connection issues. I have my feedings set on a schedule everyday and did not realize my device was not working because it needed updated. I was away from my house and my cats went hungry for a day because of this. Very frustrating, please address this update issue. Based on comments I’ve seen, I’m not the only one having this issue. I need this thing to work
The app needs a redesign badly. The event monitoring replay tool is useless and hard to use. You have to scrub the timeline manually instead of just being able to replay and see specific events. It would be nice if it could auto record for 5 minutes or so after a meal is dispensed so I can check to see who ate the food. (I have multiple cats) There is also no way for the device to auto delete recordings of events after a certain period meaning you have to just format the memory card every few weeks. Also, there is no way to skip a meal. You have to manually turn off the schedule and remember to turn it back on when doing manual feeding. Not very user friendly. This is a great device but the app is severely lacking in user friendliness.
It takes a really bad experience for me to leave this bad of a review but I’ve spent hours for several days trying to connect the Petlibro camera pet feeder with no success. Went as far as resetting my wifi and double checking all troubleshooting only to feel defeated and disappointed. I went to look for help to see if others have had this same experience and to my surprise I’m not the only one. The customer service options are limited and don’t work properly. I feel like I’ve been scammed, the return or exchange options are hilarious with the need for original boxing as if the box is absolutely essential for the return. Seems like the company isn’t really invested in the quality of the product nor the assurance of help or resolution. Worst $127 I’ve ever spent and biggest waste of time.
I like how easy it is to set up feeding schedules. The biggest improvement I would like to see is the notifications seem to only be in the app, which means I have to open the app to see if there are messages like the feeder is empty or the outlet is blocked. These need to be available on the phone as banners and badges because right now there is no way to know if there is a message in the app unless you open the app. Our cats let us know they hadn’t been fed , but the feeder message alerting us to an empty feeder was from the day before. It could have been filled much sooner if I had known it was empty.
Since this latest update, my feeder will not update. It has timed out every single time when I’ve waited for 20+ minutes trying to get this new firmware to update about 10 times today. My feeder is not feeding on the scheduled feedings at all, and will not let me feed manually either. With a highly recommend anyone to stay away from this expensive feeder with many many bugs. Even before this, it was saying it was blocked giving me about 10 notifications in a five minute span every single day multiple times a day when the feeder was not actually blocked. This resulted in skipped feedings and confusion on when and when my cats had not been fed. that’s a huge issue.
One day it works and the next it says outlet disconnected despite the pet and myself not touching anything. No other apps or software in the house has issues like this. Product just doesn’t seem to work consistently, constantly need to reconnect the router and Bluetooth, which doesn’t do anything until a random moment it magically starts working again. Just not reliable.
I love this feeder, so long as it is connected to my app. This is the most difficulty I’ve ever experienced in connecting a bluetooth device. In the 6ish months that I’ve had it, I’ve only successfully completed the connection process twice (which was just luck). It disconnects anytime it is unplugged, and it has also happened randomly to me. I don’t believe I’ve ever left a review for an app, but this has had me constantly frustrated. I don’t understand how, after reading so many similar experiences, PetLibro has done nothing to resolve this issue. I haven’t been able to properly use the feeder for the past couple months. Please help or I will escalate.
So, I’ve connected the pet feeder about five times this morning alone, and started the update five times, and it just keeps cycling back through and telling me that the Wi-Fi is not connected, even though it says it is—and that the update needs to be done, even though every time I click for the update to happen, it tells me that there’s an update and it’s looking for it, and when it’s finds it, it tells me there’s an update again. While I just got this feeder, this is making me question whether to return it or not, as the app doesn’t seem to be conducive to making the feeder work…
The app was easy to set up and it’s easy to manually feed from the app and change the schedule. It’s also easy to see in the app if the hopper is clogged or if a feeding is unsuccessful. However there is no notification that appears outside of the app to alert you of these things. Push notifications are definitely needed for the app so that you don’t go merrily on your way thinking that the cats are being fed when in reality they’re not!
It’s really frustrating when the feeder disconnects when I’m away on a trip and I can’t reconnect it from the app. Not sure why it’s disconnecting, but this has happened multiple times now. I would love it if it would continue feeding them on their schedule, but every time the feeder disconnects from the WiFi/app it completely wipes my kittie’s feeding schedules and since I can’t reconnect from the app it doesn’t feed them! For my one cat that has a sensitive stomach this is really not good because if he isn’t on a consistent schedule he throws up:(
I have 4x feedings per a day. The last feeding on the list automatically turns off. For example, when I set the last feeding, the toggle switch is on. I will come back a few hours later and the switch is still on. The next day, when the feeding is supposed to happen, it does not. When I open the app, it is toggled off! Tried resetting it multiple times and it will eventually turn itself off. Not sure why this is happening but there is clearly a bug with this app.
Stopped working - and petlibro is not cancelling my subscription
My feeder is about 6 months old and it stopped connecting to the internet. I pay a monthly subscription to have access to the camera recordings but since the device is offline I cannot cancel the subscription as the app requires the device to be online to make any changes. I’ve been trying to get petlibro to cancel the subscription but they are refusing. The device shouldn’t stop working 6 months later and it should not take weeks to at least cancel the monthly subscription.
I bought this so I could go on vacation and not have someone come over to feed my cats daily. It works great and I love that I can monitor the food bowls to ensure everything is working and they are being fed. One improvement suggestion: a steeper slope on the chute so that the food does not get backed up so easily. I changed my feeding routine from once a day to twice a day, with a lesser amount, to avoid this while on vacation.
Love this feeder when I’m home but it gets weird when I travel several times zones away from home. Seems to feed in some odd combo of home zone and zone where I am. Cannot get it reprogrammed to make sense when I travel🤦🏻♀️
This app works very well with the wifi feeder. I like being able to schedule specific feeding times multiple times a day. The only thing I noticed that needs changed is I opted to not put in back up batteries, so the app consistently says “low battery” on the homepage.
The app no longer sends a notification for out of food status. My cats haven’t been fed in 4 days! This is absolutely unacceptable, better get used to double checking in the logs. The worst part is that it worked well for about a year, then one day during a scheduled feeding the machine just kept spitting out food. I had avoided all updates and I was forced to update the app to make it work correctly again and now it doesn’t send push notifs for no more food. Stop upgrading perfectly functional apps!!!
I turned the device to “Private Mode” where it’s supposed to disable the camera, but I noticed that it still sends notifications with pictures via the internet even though it’s not supposed to. I tried toggling private mode multiple times and resetting the app but it still sends pictures. There seems to be some issue with the app which could be problematic privacy wise. I tried contacting support but they have not responded.
Great when it works but it goes offline when you need it the most, when you go on vacation. Even with the back up battery installed, it won’t let you see when/if the food is being dispensed. The sole reason I bought this was for when I go on vacation and now I’m basically wasting my money on the device since it doesn’t work when I need it to.
Impossible to update firmware - update keeps failing despite being connected to wifi. A month ago the app stopped recording the food log of when the food was dispensed. Machine randomly turned off this morning and my cat missed one of her feedings (I only knew this because I didn’t hear the food drop). Doesn’t let you know when food is low. My cat deserves better than this. Terrible app
Every time I open the app, it wants me to upgrade my feeder’s firmware. Every attempt fails. Reinstalled the app, same issue. Now when I true to move the app to a folder, it deletes itself from the Home Screen and I cannot open it via the search bar. However, if I search for it in the App Store, I can open it from there… It may be time for a different product that uses a different app…
Bought two of the PLAF103 feeders about 6 months ago… worked on the Lite app. Bought another one of the same but it has updated WiFi and it won’t connect to the lite app, only main app. The older ones will not connect to the regular app so I’m stuck using two apps to feed my three dogs. will update review once I don’t have to use 2 apps.
When I go to edit my feeding schedule it won’t save changes. I can no longer switch my camera to private mode. Scrolling through the recent reviews and they are all about the newest update not working… for two months. Maybe deal with that that ?? I really don’t want to try and deal with trying to refund this
It’s pretty bad when it’s easier to set up the old school manual feeder than it is to use the Bluetooth app. I tried reinstalling it several times, no connection yet everything else in my house connected to Bluetooth just fine. I’m fairly tech savvy. I cannot stress enough what a terrible experience this is. Do not buy it. I’ll be returning the product.
It works great when it works. But when it doesn’t, it is nearly impossible to troubleshoot. It worked great for a few months before I moved. Then it wouldn’t work unless I kept the batteries out of it. This morning it stopped working with no warning and I can’t get it to pair with the app anymore. It goes not give any indication when food is running low.
It won’t save my schedules feedings and the toggle switch to turn the feeding off and on does not work. I have to constantly close the app multiple time to get it work
I honestly am debating on purchasing a new machine due to the malfunction of this app. It never stays connected to the internet which makes me reconnect the feeder on a constant basis. This company needs to fix this problem asap. There is no point in having a wifi feeder if it does not work.
App had some basic issues but could function OK for the pet feeder. But recently they've filled the app with ads. If you're buying hardware and need an app to control it, you should have to put up with ads. I regret buying this product and caution all others to avoid. You can do better than this!
I've had a Petlibro Granary PLAF103 for 1.5 years and it works with the PETLIBRO LITE app. I just adopted a new cat and bought another feeder of THE SAME MODEL PLAF103 but it ONLY works with the PETLIBRO app. They are the SAME model and they do not work with the SAME app. I have to have TWO different apps to feed my cats, this is pointlessly inconvenient and if this is not resolved I will return
This app (PetLibro Lite) should be part of the regular PetLibro app so that I can keep track of my water fountain and my camera feeder in one app. Obvious error that needs to be rectified. Combine the apps. Call it something like PetLibro+…
The app is extremely faulty. The manual feed button takes several taps before it responds. Unreliable The schedule section doesn’t always allow you to schedule If you change the time he prepared to repeat the change because it doesn’t always save
It’s been 2 days since I updated this app , and it hasn’t worked since. I now have to leave my vacation to go home and feed my cats. It’s clear users across the board are experiencing the same problems and you haven’t fixed the update yet? Should be criminal.
App no longer logs feeding events. If you’re in another timezone, no indication if pets are being fed on a feeder schedule or device time. Would be helpful to have feeding logs to determine this.
This app is horrible, inconsistent, and very buggy. Clicking the On/Off for schedule does not work even after re-opening and closing the app several times. It also randomly “disconnect” from the internet and refuses to reconnect.
Worked fine for a year but recently stopped notifying me when the food reservoir was empty. I noticed other reviewers reporting the same problem in the same timeframe. Not sure if this is the app or the firmware. Hope the developers see this and fix it soon.
Over the last year this app and the one it came from (“SmartLife”) have deleted my feeding schedule about once every six weeks. If you don’t monitor the app frequently, your cats will starve to death. Petlibro is flirting with a huge class action lawsuit.
Randomly clears your saved feeding schedule. This has happened several times now and my cat misses meals until I happen to check the feed log. Not okay!
This app disconnects and has not had an update in a year. Apple has gone to a new system every year. They should stop this app was supported. If you do use it, you will tell that there is no customer support.
Not working after update. Can’t manually or schedule feed. No response from customer service email. Had to leave vacation and take a 3 hour drive to feed our cats!
I bought the feeder and have not been able to connect it to the app at all. I am so disappointed. I tried for over 3 hours and no luck. I have reach out to the company but I have yet to hear back.
The app is generally fine however, it randomly decides to delete my feeding schedule, which is a major major issue. I can’t have that happening. If I’m out of town.
Worked well for a month. Away overnight and just like that the PETLIBRO feeder fails. Have been trying for hours to get it to reconnect. Turned it off, reset, factory reset, deleted and reinstalled. If you live your pet, rethink this device and App.
