The Good. The app sets mode and temps without the remote. App has ability to share control with others, without giving them you own account info. The bizarre. The App lets you configure a schedule but If you use the power button on the remote or unit, it disables all your scheduled events. Which means you can’t turn it on/off manually outside the scheduled times or it will deactivate your schedule and won’t automatically turn on/off ever again. The Bad. Incomprehensible what eco real feel mode is actually doing. I have a 4 season unit and can’t figure out how to set when it should cool and when it should heat. There was a tutorial when I first installed the app, but I can’t figure out how to go back and reread it. Doesn’t remember the angle of the air deflector, it keeps resting each use. Can’t set fan speed on heat mode.
I am extremely happy with this air conditioner. I bought it to cool my home office, which I am now working out of, and it works perfectly. Not only does it cool my office, but it helps the central air cool the rooms next to it as well. It was easy to set up, and being able to turn it on and off remotely is a great feature. Definitely highly recommended! Haven’t tried the heating function yet, but have every faith that it will work just as well as the air conditioning.
I had this app working wonderfully for the past year until I updated to a new router & phone. Now I can’t even get past this dumb screen even though my new Wi-Fi supports 2.4ghz!!! Please fix! Update: Seems like the new update fixed my issue! It connects perfectly fine to my phone now!!!! 🥳
I have used 2 PAC EL295’s with this app for the last 5 months, with almost no issues. However, shortly after the version update to 1.05 I had to change my home wifi network (still 2.4ghz) and now the app persistently says “Please Connect Wi-Fi First.” I’ve tried it with 3 different iOS devices, reloading the app, different 2.4ghz networks, and unplugging the portable heat pumps for 10 minutes to reset. Customer service from Delonghi had no other solutions, as well. PLEASE FIX APP VERSION.
I cannot ignore the fact that the app developers completely neglected to put a timer in place!?? Instead, you can schedule the time you would like your AC to turn on or off! Extremely cumbersome to use every time you want to fall asleep, or to be sure the device turns off in case you forget! I have written and contacted customer support several times where they give me lip service that they are developers are working on it and that they’ve gotten several calls for the same feature! 1.3 years later, still no update to the app!
I wasn’t able to connect to my router. I even tried to type in a bogus password to my router, and it accepted that, too. It’s supposed to be sending out some “Smartlife-XXXX” but that signal is nowhere to be found. I’ve wasted 20 minutes of life trying to connect to my air conditioner. But, the app doesn’t connect. So, this app is useless.
The WiFi capability and app are almost useless. You can only set a state and see that the state is set, but you have no idea what the machine is doing. No indicator as to whether it is running, fan only, ac. No indicator of current room temperature. No timer. Etc. Very disappointed. Why can’t De Longhi just license in the capabilities and software of third-Party controllers like Sensibio, Cielo and others?
Absolutely love our Delonghi Penguin A/C. The set up is effortless, It took under 10 minutes. It makes our master bedroom a very comfortable place to be when it’s 96 degrees outside. I love the fact that I can set the desired temperature remotely from anywhere via my IPhone. Thank you for making these California hot summer nights, So much more comfortable to sleep. App works great for everything except daily scheduling. I have schedules set for every day but I have to manually turn them on everyday. If you could fix this, it would be great.
This App doesn’t seem to be supported much by the manufacturer. It has a fatal flaw. You can’t remove air-conditioning or heating units if they aren’t working and actively on your network. A real problem when you have an AC unit that dies on you and is forever stuck in your app list and login. This is a basic feature and design consideration that should be included by developers. They probably contracted development of the App to a third-party dev. to handle the app creation and are too cheap to update it or answer customer support requests.
Working fine then the GUI crapped out for no reason then I tried to remove the device and re add it and it won’t let me. Keeps asking me to connect to 2.4ghz wifi and I’m already connected. This is very disappointing
Following the setup instructions dead ends with no error messages or anything to search for. The feedback tab in the app never loads any UI, so you can’t even report issues in this unfinished, terrible app.
This app worked well when I first bought the unit. Now as some of the other reviews stated. There is no way to control the unit from the app. No way to reset the unit or the network it’s connected to. Really frustrating to say at the least.
This App locks up when adding an a/c unit and then does not let you “remove device”. One it locks up, it indicates that the device is “offline” and then does absolutely nothing. You can remove the unit nor can you try to reconnect.
Can’t even add device, the mode button does nothing but change modes. The into and remote work just fine but I bought this for the WiFi feature. Worthless.
There a terrible bug in the app right now. The texts doesnt show, there a “splash_text_2” test example popping up so its really difficult to understand
The product itself is very good but the app has very terrible bugs and sometimes it freezes up and doesn’t let you reconnect. It is just a complete waste of time.
Can‘t even add device to app. Useless. Don’t buy DeLonghi products. As expected, Italian design comes with inferior engineering, reliability and customer support.
I tried to connect the device to my WiFi but the app never asks the device for the network settings so that’s where it stops. Open the app, enter your email and password, choose add device, confirm that the WiFi is blinking, and that’s as far as you go. The app keeps telling to you to connect to WiFi but you are already connected to WiFi. That’s where you just can’t get past in the app.you’re stuck in a “connect to WiFi” loop. We purchased this for our home gym in the garage that we converted. We specifically wanted to be able to cool or heat the space before we needed it but not all the time. This was the answer, or so I thought. Hopefully they fix the app so that I can connect to WiFi and control my machine like I paid for.
And be sure to use AP mode for setup. This app doesn't work, and is just a broken fork from the open source code Tuya/Esspresif released as part of their Dev Kit.
