We got this for our family and we love it! It is so easy to operate and multiple people can send pictures. The only downside is that it is a little hard to scroll back to the last photo. Finally it tells you lots of things and can add videos with sound, but best of all it can tell you the weather in your area.
What a wonderful concept, to be able to send pictures from your phone straight to a digital frame via Wi-Fi so that you or loved ones can enjoy. Some of the time, I am able to send a few pictures from my phone to my Polaroid frame, or two other Polaroid frames that I purchased for family members. Unfortunately, more often than not this is difficult to do, and does not end up working. First of all when I pull up the pictures to send more than half of them are just grey boxes and do not show the actual picture, so I am not sure what I am clicking on to send to my frame. The pictures that do populate so that I can click on and send, often will say they have sent, but never reach my frame! So frustrating. I have tried everything… Turned the frame off and on, scoured the Internet for fixes, etc…even after getting a new phone I am still experiencing the same problems. It is obviously the app. For over $100 for this frame (not to mention I have purchased three of them in total) it would be nice if the app actually worked most of the time, instead of rarely. Come on… Technology should be better than this! Where are the app developers, and the fixes??
29 Dec 2020 currently working (upgraded rating) Previously: spent lots of time on this, uninstall, reinstall, WiFi reboot, etc. Called the support telephone number only to find out this is a known problem going back almost a full month or more and you will notice that this app hasn’t been updated for 2 months. The software company that Polaroid “hired” to carry the brand name into WiFi capabilities is an LLC out of China that apparently has no interest in fixing this. So I will just return the Polaroid picture frame and never by from them again. Just shameful. This was an expensive gift from a brand I used to trust. Prior review: Purchased as a gift thinking the brand name might make it a good product choice, I suppose this brand doesn’t mean anything anymore. I can’t even find a “frequently asked questions” website to attempt to get this thing to work. The real difficulty is that this was not an inexpensive picture frame. I will never purchase this brand again.
I bought a digital photo frame 15-20 years ago when they first came to market. I loaded it with photos and gave it to my grandparents. These new WiFi frames are so much more useful. My sister bought one for everyone this year and it is neat to be able to upload new photos to anyone else’s frame easily over the internet. Initially when we got the frames there was a bug in the software which caused uploads to fail most times. It seems the developer fixed the software or the servers, so it appears to work reliably now. I’m so impressed with these WiFi frames that I bought several more for Christmas gifts for next year. The only issues I see with them is the software only works with Polaroid brand frames. After purchasing from eBay the only three remaining Polaroid frames apparently in the world or for sale on the internet, I am concerned that Polaroid may no longer be producing this product. They are not listed on Polaroid’s website. My sister got hers from Target but they are no longer available. So I wonder how much longer support for the app will continue?
The fact that I made a $130 purchase on this for a Christmas gift with the amount of glitches and faultiness I have to go through, is ridiculous. Once I figured out the correct app to link to the frame (after downloading 2 incorrect apps already), everything was running smoothly. Was able to add about 40 pictures then BOOM, next day started receiving “failed to send” messages when I went to add more pictures. I deleted the app & downloaded it again/unpaired the wifi to pair it again/turned the device on and off etc. This product is faulty. Do not waste your time. Now I have to return it and I have no Christmas gift for my Dad. Very disappointing.
So thrilled with my picture frame …. Day or night I can enjoy memories, that brighten my days …… great gift, that keeps giving ! Anyone would enjoy pictures not stored away but viewed daily
This app and the Polaroid frame it is meant to connect to are absolute trash when it come to transferring photos by wifi. The frame will connect to the 5gh wifi we use, and updates the time and the weather just fine. What it won’t do is allow you to use the frame for its intended use, to upload and display photos. Polaroid could fix this with a software update but has chosen not to. My choice is to either downgrade my whole system to 2.4, degrading the performance of a whole house full of connected devices working JUST FINE on 5.0, or to email a bunch of pics to myself and load by USB. The first is never going to happen, and shame on Polaroid for mandating it, and the USB route is a pain - but my only real choice. Two calls to Polaroid support were informative, letting me know the low regard it holds its customers in, and flagging its technical incompetence.
Opened and set it up yesterday, but am now unable to send any photos. It will show it’s sent up to 99% then say it failed. I am a 20 year old who is pretty tech savvy and no trick has seemed to work. Seems like others had this issue as well, something you hope they’d fix by Christmas. This is going to be a present to my grandparents and my entire family should be able to send photos, but we are currently unable to add any more past the 20 I sent yesterday. This needed to be fixed a very long time ago. Disappointing.
I got this specifically because it has the app option to upload photos and I’ve only lucked out on uploading 15. It allows you to upload 9 at a time so after the first 9 I went upload another 9 but the app repeatedly crashed over and over and over again. I had to try various amounts of pictures to upload and it continued to crash. Unless they can figure out how to get this to stop, I do NOT recommend this product what so ever!
I purchased frames for my parents and my in-laws since we are a military family and live far away. I constantly have issues sending photos to the frames receiving the error “failed to send”. In the rare moment when it does send, the frame is great and our families love the new pictures of the grandkids, but it is frustrating that a majority of the time they fail to send.
Edit 12/26: For what it’s worth, I changed the rating from 1 to 3 stars because it worked the following day. There were still glitches— like the wifi not connecting properly after being set up (had to turn the device off and back on), and I know it wasn’t the wifi connection itself because I had a second frame still connected to it. After uploading new photos, it still said the number of new photos plastered on the bottom right corner even though it cycled through them all. —— I’m not sure what’s going on. I bought three frames for Christmas gifts and it worked beautifully for the first, but now I’m unable to upload to the other two. Majorly disappointed.
Purchased the frame in December 2022 as a gift hoping it would be a simple and easy to use the app with this product. The app only shows a few photos to choose from when trying to pick pictures from your albums (many won’t load and are just blank squares) and now the app has completely stopped sending photos to the frame as of February 2023.
My husband bought this for me and I absolutely love it. Seeing our pictures rotate through on a daily basis I makes me smile!!! So much better than a photo album that sits on the shelf. Can say enough good things!!!
Bought this for my mom. I’ve enjoyed how easy it is to send straight from my photo library. Now it says “please choose devices which you want to upload”. No matter how many times I link it, it doesn’t work. Unless this is changed I will have to get her a different frame with a different app. Which is disappointing.
Tried to upload images and it fails every time. Have restarted and nothing works. Will be returning frame soon. UPDATE: I tried uploaded at midnight and nothing worked. I charged the frame and let it sit overnight. The next morning it now allows me to send photos every time.
I actually love the picture frame I just wish it would give me an option to leave the weather as a main frame sometimes but besides that I’m happy with my purchase
Just got this as a Christmas gift. You can’t edit a picture even though it says you can. That part of the app doesn’t work. There is no way to get the notification of how many “new” pictures off the right hand corner, it shows in ever picture. Super annoying! The bottom left corner banner is annoying because it tells you were it imported the picture from. Ugh
This was a gift from children but we have not been able to upload any photos Nor does the app from IOS show up on phone - need to open in App store each time I’m an IT software person so I’ve tried all the ‘tricks’ to get software to work, uninstall, reinstall, unlink, delink, etc etc in addition the weather is for a Chinese city not our location what a waste of money!
Somehow my frame unlinked itself and the app is zero help with how to fix the issue. No directions or options to contact. I shouldn’t have dig out the directions to fix something I didn’t break. So irritating.
You would think Polaroid would have the best app for digital frames. When I try to add pictures through the app, one picture, if I’m lucky will show. My connection works well. I’ve updated my review to a 3 for now. If it works better, I’ll update it
Yesterday powered unit up and was able to send some photos. Tried again today and received fail to send message after 100% upload complete. Bought for Mom to have family from all over have the ability to send photos that she could view. Looks like we made the wrong choice in choosing Polaroid. Not happy.
Worked great for the first couple of weeks, but a year later, we can not send any pics to it. We’ve tried everything to get it to work and nothing is helping. Failed to send reply is the only things that seems to work. Disappointed!
About 50% of the time when you upload photos it errors out. Additionally, the fact that you can only upload 9 photos at a time is tedious, and that's when it works.
I bought this frame for my mother-in-law so that we could share baby photos with her. She lives about 4 hours away from us, and the frame keeps disconnecting from the app. She’s not savvy enough to help us reconnect it, so we’re out of luck until we visit again.
Tried to upload pictures to this frame a million different ways, from photos app, from selected album, only using 1 picture, etc. never worked. My sister can send pics no problem but no one else can. If only 1 link is able to send photos they should really specify that.
Corps pictures in frame. Hard to get phots to transfer to frame. Stopped working after 2 months. Have to keep it plugged in to function. Would look for another digital frame.
I have linked WIFI. No issue here. I have linked the frame to the phone. No issue here. However App is not able to access iPhone photos for upload. What am I missing? I will change my rating if this is a misunderstanding of instructions and a simple fix.
My son gave this to me for Christmas so I can get all my grand baby pics and I never get the pics. I tried everything update the app my phone and I tried to send pics myself that was hours ago and it still doesn’t say complete. Very disappointed
Fresh download, freshly linked, and when I get to the where you can select the photos by tapping the bubble in the top right corner, the images don’t show. You can see white squares and tap on the bubble, you just can’t see what you’re selecting!
I downloaded the app but it’s not working appropriately. When I pull up my photos they won’t show in the app so I have to guess what I’m picking. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it 3 times with the same issue. Makes sending photos to my frame nearly impossible. Very frustrating
I haven’t been able to connect since the latest update. I’ve never been able to connect to my home WiFi, always had to do my phone hotspot but now I can’t even do that. So frustrating.
Stopped working. Network fine. Tried deleting frame and now won’t re-pair. Connected to WiFi. Tried multiple phones. Piece of crap. Junk. Maybe they are trying to sell new ones before Christmas. Don’t buy a Polaroid.
I managed to setup the wifi connection, and I linked the app and the frame, but when I try to upload photos or videos it gives me a “failed to load” error: I cannot add any images to the frame! New frame, just out of the box. Not good at all!
