With an abundance of so-so reviews, I thought you might like one that’s uplifting. I have to agree that the hurricane responses could have been improved. However, for my purposes, this app is just what I need and appreciate. My bill & usage info is sent to my phone & my payment is sent from my phone. A follow-up bill arrives in the mail...what could be easier!
I was billed for wrong meter for yrs. Not sure how many yrs ? Be carful putting in someone’s name & leave in their name ( my son left for Army) they only reimbursed me for time was in my name. I switched to my name when my son came back from Military, 6 yrs later he moved elsewhere . He had to give permission to them to do this. It's not fair they didn’t reimburse for whole time ( 7 -12 yrs. ) they screwed up & charging me for wrong meter ( other apt has 3-4 living in it ) for 7 + yrs when 1 senior moved out. He was landlords Dad. ( I live alone ! ) landlord had to give permission for PSEG to come to check this out! For yrs I asked them to let PSE&G come as my bill skyrocketed after they rented to 3-4 . Landlords rich so didn’t care about my bills, just collect $$$ . Be careful these PSEG workers doing correct thing’s & not ripping you off !!! I ended up not having to pay elec. for 1.6 yr PSEG only reimbursed me for the 1 yr it was in my name! I’m still not sure my bill on right meter. They made me get smart meter , bill went up immediately! Wish my son & I could get reimbursed for the other money for yrs they billed me wrong meter! I wonder how many they’re doing this too. I couldn’t change to my name w/o my sons permission he was over seas!!
So the app was created to do various things such as billing inquiries, provide usage data and in my primary case as a tool to report and monitor the status of power outages. Hopefully PSEG learned the hard way to increase bandwidth to the app server(?). The recent TS Isaiah caused widespread outages and if you decide to read through the reviews will see the server crashed during the storm presumably due to high volume usage. Isn’t the purpose of the app to allow quick and easy information access and issue reporting for customers and relieve call volume? You would think they would prepare their infrastructure to handle the increased usage during a storm. Evidently not. That’s the big takeaway. For the cherry on top, when attempting to review my usage, the app is showing average temperatures for July and August to be 45 F. I wish it was true so then I wouldn’t have had to run my AC constantly. But it does show my bill spiking for those two months....so either my bill is wrong or their temperature is wrong. I think I know the answer.
We got hit by Tropical Storm Isaia today. I downloaded the app just in case. It set up easy as I already had online account. I worked all the features and it seemed fine. The storm took down the whole community, 1285 homes. I tried to report the outage, but the app wouldn’t take my account info when I used the fingerprint reader. Said there was an error. When I manually put in my info, I got the same error 5 out of 6 times. The 6th time it brought up my account. I then tried to use the report on outage tab. It took my phone number to call my and then crashed. It reported an unspecified error. I feel that this a server issue that PSEGLI did not anticipate. The app crashed do to insufficient capacity. I wasted a lot of time today with this useless app. PS you could not get through by phone because of excessive volume.
I have seen the gas, lighting company grow from having to personally pay my bill on site or mail. I’m old enough to remember does anyone else? Now the smart phone app has been a hit for me, recently where I live we had our power go out. It seemed like minutes, The staff on duty were on the property and I got a call from PSEG I got a text message from PSEG, and I was impressed! We can’t live with out power on Long Island so be proud of them for stepping up and doing their job Thank you
I don’t understand the point of this app. It offers nothing over the Web site, and considerably less information than the paper bill. This is a squandered opportunity. I’d rather have had my exorbitant electricity bills reduced. I can’t put in meter readings. I can’t access any meaningful usage or billing history. I cannot access any data whatever that might potentially help me reduce my electricity footprint, or even compare to others. So this is a PR exercise and a waste of money. Work on reducing the bills, preferably by improving the dire efficiency of the infrastructure. That almost half my bill is for “delivery charges” is absurd.
The app has the majority of the necessities needed to check bills, look at outages etc. The developers could take a look at the Con Ed app for NYC for some ideas as it has some additional useful functionality which could be helpful in this app. Note that the “feedback” section of the app is currently not working. Additionally someone misspelled “degrees” as “degress” in the app usage section. It’s a small mistake, but it does show there was little review or testing of the app prior to distribution.
I just went totally electric with regards to heating my home. I have solar panels as well. Once I converted, I noticed my energy generated on the app has dropped considerably, even though on my app it has been consistent, all things being equal, sunny day etc. this is concerning to me as now I totally need the proper credit for my energy created, I hope this is a glitch in the ad as this is a serious problem if what PSEG is reporting is “accurate” according to them. I will give a better review if it was a glitch, I understand things happen.
The usage screens don’t work. We have solar panels so often our KWh is negative. The App adds the kWh generated by the panels to the KWh we use as a positive number. The error nearly doubles our usage. The billing is correct but if you like to monitor your daily usage these screens are useless. Tried contacting PSEG numerous times but they are not familiar with their own app and make excuses such as there is too much data for the App. They tell me to use the web site. Bottom line is they don’t care. So don’t waste your time with this app cause PSEG says to use their website.
This app tells you what you used last month as an average. Who cares we would know that when we get our monthly bill any way. This app should give daily update to the minute information on usage. Then you could adjust accordingly. With the new meters that transmit the information you would think PSEG could get you a bill every 30 days that doesn’t happen either. This is what I was told when the meter was installed. You could save electricity with more efficient delivery of information. Right now it’s a waste of time.
I used the app to report a power outage and when I submitted my info the app informed me it was a known outage and the expected outage time was 2 hrs. This was helpful to set our expectations and also that it was known issue let me know I did not need to escalate. Power was only out about 10 mins. Well done.
Since the update to iOS 16.5.1 and or the apps most recent update, the Face ID for password has to be done multiple times to login. The homepage reloads multiple times, view bill doesn’t work, bill button on bottom left does nothing. This app worked fine before the updates and I liked having this app to view my bill and usage and for reporting and tracking outages. I do hope that the bugs will be squashed soon.
I want to commend the speedy and courteous service by your company. We had a power outage today in Valley Stream, NY. (53 Fremont Rd.) and the projected time for restoration was 1:45pm. Our service was up and running at 10:45am. The man who fixed it quickly is named Bennett O’Donnell. We would like to give a 5 star rating to him! Thank you again!
Downloaded app because I can’t seem to find a status and able to report outage through the text service, or on the website. Last try was through the app and get the same error messages I get through texts, website and now App. I guess PSEG waves plausible deniability they knew of an outage? If it’s not reported then it didn’t happen? PSEG should be ashamed of this. All parts of their app and website work except for outage reporting and status to restore. Ridiculous.
In this record-breaking bitter windy cold night the power guys came 7 hours earlier than the revised scheduled time! And at 3:30 AM they found the problem and repaired the power line— and the lights and heat came back on! Enormously grateful and full of respect for all you have done. Thank you.
While trying to pay a bill , customer Id or Billing number is required. You have to enter that when transferred to SpeedPay. Either leave the information available on the screen or when transferred pass that along
I’ve been waiting for PSEG to come out with an app. The one big issue here is that there’s no way to submit a meter reading. I have to log in through their regular website to do that. Please make it so I can go to “Usage”, click on Submit a reading, and either type it in or access the camera to scan and upload. Do this and the rating changes to 5 star
The App is mostly good. Couple of feedback points below: 1) After iOS 15 upgrade the screen rotation has gotten messed up. It keeps flipping from between landscape and portrait. 2) Login is slow
This app and their service are unbelievably poor, constantly kicked out and wouldn’t let me log in with my correct password. Been without power for over 24 hours and they haven’t updated me once and their telephone service hung up on me twice. I’m suppose to trust them in situations like this and what do they do? Their website shuts down and all their services do not go through. Extremely untrustworthy and absolutely appalling service.
The cause of the power outage on the outage map is blocked by a blue strip of buttons for “Report Online” and “More Information”. When you scroll down it moves with the screen and remains blocking over top of the Cause of the power outage no matter how much you scroll. Please fix this bug as it’s extremely annoying. Also reporting a power outage in the app doesn’t work. It keeps telling me “Error. There was an issue reporting your outage”
Every time I open up my app it doesn’t recognize me. I have keep putting in all of my information again and again and it should be way more user friendly. So upset we are without power as long as we have been. I’m hearing till possibly Friday but definitely till tomorrow in August! This is so upsetting. I have my two little children with me and I can’t even get in touch with PSEGLI. Please update this app and please update us on when our power will come back?
I appreciate the service I received last night. Very courteous and efficient. Thank you. I had the problem corrected this am, being a house of seniors we can’t be without electric.
Thanks for making my life easier. Generation that was not born with computer/Technology, has difficulty to adapt. The industry must consider this handicap. Develop technology easy to understand and use. Thanks
We lost the power in our area - several blocks in each direction. I open the app and it says < 5 homes affected. I select the report the outage in front of the login screen. It says my account can’t be found. Strike one. I register using the same account info. Success! I select the option to send a text reporting the outage. The reply states I have to text REG to use this feature. Well, it is associated with my account, but OK. i gets no response to my REG text. Strike two. I login to the app and from the bottom ribbon, I tap ‘outage’. That also fails with an error ‘there was an issue reporting your outage. Strike three. So no power and an app with three ways to report an outage and all do not work.
I had to call PSEG to reset my security answers but the lady was very nice and I was able to now I could use the app without no problem my new password
So great to finally have an app to help manage my PSEG LI account! Easy ability to view bills, update user info, report an outage or downed wire. It even gives you a map of LI and shows you where active outages are. Definitely 5 stars!
PSEG Long Island horrible communication during tropical storm Isaias - App along with their website were rendered useless during the storm and failure to communicate anything on restoration of services. You would have thought service providers would have learned something after Hurricane Sandy in 2012. It’s amazing how fast everybody receives communication that their bill is due but when your service is out you are literally left IN THE DARK !!!
I just downloaded the app from the AppStore but when I try to log in, it says “Alert, there was a problem processing your request” I have tried uninstalling the app several times but nothing seems to work to solve this. I need help.
Could only attempt to sign into my account by updating the app. Said there was a technical problem and bounced me back to the log in page. Tried on my iPhone and iPad and same thing happened. Was able to log in only through their regular web page. Please fix the updated app!!
The app had been very helpful when it used to provide daily kWh consumption (usually with a 48 hour lag). At the beginning of this billing cycle (5 days ago) the app no longer provided this data rendering it useless as an energy management tool. My next step is to report them to the NYS utilities regulators for moving backwards in working with their customers. Adam Henick Remsenburg, NY
Very happy with response text outage again this am rich called me back in 2 minutes to get someone to help!! The power is restored within 10 minutes...ty for heat and a shower off to battle covid I’m a nurse!!❤️💫👍
I have tried logging into the app since I moved. I called customer help and they just tell me to change my password but I always get the same error —“there was an issue processing your request “ I have uninstalled the app too. I really wish it worked because our power went out and the website doesn’t work and the texting doesn’t seem to work either.
You need that app to tell you how much you use daily and how much they cost you you have to wait entire whole month to find out how much you use and how much is your bill Does not acceptable should be the up a little bit more Asmar
They provide service but they also send emails and nasty calls 5 days BEFORE PAYMENT IS DUE. After a due date a polite reminder is acceptable BUT 5 days BEFORE IS OBNOXIOUS. Especially in these tense times. Many power failures, because there ability to fix matters happen so many times. the majority of homeowners had to spend thousands of dollars on generators so they have electric, only because electric fails so many times.
There is no way to receive information or get in contact with any actual person to know when power will be restored, the wires were fixed near me and power still has not returned in Bay Shore NY please give me some kind of information because your app has been less than useless thanks.
Since last November, somehow I no longer could submit payment thru saved credit card which has been working for years. I now need to submit payment thru your web site instead of iOS app. It’s pretty annoying. Please FIX it.
This app is very nicely developed, I works seamlessly, I can access all my account info, my bill, contact customer care, see my consumption, report outage and many other things. Good job PSEG IT team.
I used to be able to pay on the PSEG app.. one day I go to pay on my phone and I can’t!! The whole thing changed… so not happy. Now all I use the app for is to see what I owe. Can’t pay anything. So disappointed
If you try to report an outage without logging in by acct/zip or phone/zip the app cant find my acct and i am entering the acct from statement. If log into my acct and submit outage report i get error submitting alert. Worst app ever created. They ought to be ashamed of themselves for attaching their name to this junk. Tried about 20 times. Bottom line is company cant even find a way to notify people propely.
Tried to set this up as new app. Tells me already exists. Don’t remember setting this up, so I put in to ask for help with user name. I put in my e-mail address to get some help. All I get is a message saying there is a problem with the account!! It can’t be both ways. It either doesn’t exist or it does. I get a monthly bill so it obviously exists.
The most recent app removed bill pay and the ability to see my usage and anticipate my next bill, the main reasons why I downloaded it to begin with. Please bring back the essential features.
Your app is almost as bad as your ( so called) storm prep!!! Power line down for 2 days...promises promises. No one comes, No updates...and while running and riding in neighborhood, and surrounding neighborhoods....NOT A REPAIR TRUCK or CREW to be seen. Give us a break . Ever storm big or small our 22 home island looses power. FIX OUR BLOCK FOR GOOD! 8 outages in 2 yrs....You are LOOSING any decent PR you had. FiX OUR BLOCK FOR GOOD!
Unfortunately the app developers don’t know how to create an app to properly display on an iPad. The display is way too large to view properly in portrait mode (default) and it does not offer a landscape option, so it’s totally useless. Either get help from an iPad app developer or hire one.
I keep track of all the bills I pay in a folder on my phone, even though I pay them on the App. I should be able to download them from the App instead of having to go to the website to do that.
Downloaded thinking it would be convenient but since I downloaded it, I’ve only been able to use it once. It never loads after password in entered it changes to the “Accounts” page and stays loading forever. No error message.
