On iPad when full screen and in landscape it cuts off the task bar on RDP, both Linux and Windows systems. Annoying to rotate my device to portrait just to be able to see the bottom of the screen, I Usually run my VMs in 16:10, but I changed one to 16:9 to see if that would fix the issue as well as changing the display scaling in RDM and it still cut off the task bar. This is a great piece of software, would love a fix for this!
This is by far one of the most versatile clients for remote connectivity for iPadOS. There are only some minor issues that prevent it from being a 5 star application: 1. When connected to Windows 10 and using a mouse in iPadOS the application keeps the client mouse (it does not use the Windows 10 pointer, you keep the circle pointer from iPadOS). This can be difficult to use when trying to resize windows or select text. 2. When using a keyboard in iPadOS the fn+up/dn key (which is supposed to be pgup and pgdn) acts as maximize and minimize windows. I saw this same issue in the official MS RDP app so it seems like a common problem. Otherwise, I would definitely rather use RDM than any other RDP client. It can be a little convoluted with credentials but after the learning curve it makes sense. Amazing application.
There’s absolutely nothing like being able to go to my workstation, open a session and realize I need to go somewhere else in the house, open RDM on my iPad or phone and launch the same session type on the device to continue working. There are a few missing session types compared to the full RDM but I believe that to be the fault of iOS limitations thus the five star rating.
After more testing. Was finally able to get it working by removing the connection and adding it back a few times. Update: Fixed touchid issues. However now the bottom area where connections open sessions etc. is all squished and has a giant circle with a plus symbol. Not sure if it just an iPad issue.
I use the desktop version of this app and have loved it for years but now I have that functionality on my phone as well. It works pretty good and you can use all the same connections from your desktop on your phone by connecting both to Dropbox or one of the other data sources.
This app supports every kind of remote connections such as ssh, vnc, rdp and so on. I see a lot of nitpicking in some reviews and i don’t think that they are just. I was looking for a vnc client that supports ssh tunneling and this app is the only one that deliver this feature flawlessly. To support these many features on iPhone is incredible. Kudos to the developers of this app.
Cannot use shift to capitalize, cannot use delete in ARP
The app is the best for apple remote desktop. However, a fatal disadvantage is that I cannot capitalize by pressing shift, cannot use backspace. This causes huge trouble. I believe this could be solved easily. Thank you very much!
ios round cursor looms under the actual cursor, and all single click now register as double click... what's worse, the physical keyboard need to switch on and off that icon in order to work, and even then, some shortcut and key repeat never work.
RDM itself is great, and I have been using it for years! Now that the mobile app clients are available, I can connect to all my sessions from anywhere I happen to so long as I can get my device on the network.
Rdp on windows 2003 randomly freezes and you must disconnect and connect again.. Ssh terminal is basic and far from other free apps . Vnc is slow compared against other apps Why you add so many features to something that don’t do the basic job ? I am user of years and never improved this. I reported several times this issues nobody answered. so this is my review. I am only using the app to store credentials and manually copy the login credentials to another apps. It’s annoying but is better than trying to use the rdp of this app.
This is not it. Not even close. In less than 5 minutes I discovered several bugs and that you can no longer use integrated security with Sql server for the connection database. Given the choice of switching the login method of the production database or picking a different app... well, I’m sure you know which one was picked.
With this I can navigate through servers and workstations on my iPhone as if I was right in front of them. The way they translate touch into mouse movements and clicks is ingenious!
I used the desktop version. Not sure why the IOS version is so weird. Mostly I can’t add hosts. No option to manually enter the host name for and a new RDP connection and the search function doesn’t find anything. Disappointed.
Was not able to create a entry for a rdp session. Not sure why, after entering the info all I could do was hit cancel. If I am not able to save an eatery it would be very helpful to know why.
Can’t login to my devolutions account to use my already existing personal hub and can’t import the json file as this app only allows for .rdm file import. Total failure.
Simple insecure vnc server listening on 5900. App wouldn’t connect to it with or without a password. All other vnc viewers work, such as tight vnc, real vnc, tiger vnc, etc. Glad this was free.
I have been using the server/desktop version for a number of years. This app is great as a companion or as the only version of it. RDP programs are a dime a dozen this software incorporates so much more.
I had previously written a review on this app for an older version giving it 1 star...as it was hot garbage. This apps has dramatically improved and now I love it. Excellent tool.
I am sure i must be missing something, but I defined a connection and I could not see any way to actually invoke it. One would think that the whole purpose of this program would be to initiate a connection and when that simple function is not immediately discoverabe there is an issue.
Love the desktop and android versions ! IOS version is great too !! Use it mostly for RDP - but will use it for VNC in future. Would give IOS App 5 stars - but can’t seem to find a way to hide the bar at the bottom of the Remote Desktop session (this bar shows the 2 keyboards, mouse pointer options, ctrl, alt, Windows key, etc.). I don’t want it visible unless I need it - that is how the other RDP programs on IOS work. In fact- that is how the Android version of this app works!! Any way to ha a true “full screen “ experience with the IOS version?
App crashes after entering master password. I suspect it's trying to connect to my SQL Server data source (v1.252). Desktop app connects to data source with no problems. I tried rebooting phone, but that didn't help. IPhone 6 IOS 9.1
