When maintenance is being done on an app it can really cause anxiety. Especially one that is tied to your utilities. A troubleshoot that directs you to the website should be implemented. Either signing you in directly or having you use login information. Other than that it’s solid. Loosely.
I have had occasional glimmers of hope with this company. Usually with just one individual who actually is honest with me on the phone. But outside of that rare occasion, all I have experienced is stress, lack of communication, wavering customer service, lack of trust that my bills are accurately calculated, inconsistent information and inconsistent answers. The amount of money that is charged compared to the only other option in the area… is astronomically high. For example, transitioned to an electric meter and somehow it is fair to bill me for two readings in one month so “it’s normal that my bill is higher?” Or how that same situation was described to me as an “estimate of usage over MANY months” , or how I was again told regarding the same situation, that although my bill states RG&E came out for an actual read… that is not what occurred and even though that seems like their mistake… I am charged, over 1 entire months worth of rent for 1 month of usage. Please, if you have a choice, just live in Fairport and don’t get robbed by this company. I have called this company over 6 times in one month following up on THEIR mistake. Each time I was told a different reason and given no remediation to the initial problem. Would not recommend to anyone.
Almost 0 benefit to having this app. Doesn’t display your bill and usage, only a total of money to pay them. So who knows if any of it’s accurate, until you LEAVE the app and go to the website that has the necessary info. Also no way to contact anyone. There’s no customer service of any kind available, again until you LEAVE the app to find links displayed on a website. I find it extremely hard to believe that this app is rated so highly, especially with the amount of trouble RGE is currently in with over billing and gouging customers. The only point to having this app is to quickly pay your bill. And that’s if you actually trust this company and it’s Windows 98 app.
The RG&E app works just fine. You can submit readings, see your current balance, and pay your bills. However, RG&E as a company is extremely inconsistent with running their business. I moved into an apartment in July, where I had called and arranged to have the gas and electric in my name starting on the 1st. Despite submitting my meter readings for July, August, and September, I was not sent a bill until October - and that bills was for over $600 to compensate for the previous unbilled months. I was able to use the app to pay the bill, which a hard due date of the 14th before late fees to pay my bill, despite the company having the freedom to stockpile my monthly rates at no consequence.
Much of the application is difficult to understand. The account balance and budget amount is not clear. When i go into the application to check on what the status of my account is the application says it’s up to date and the balance is a credit. The old system gave you much more information on your paper statements. With the paper billing it showed the actual useage, the budget amount due, and the budget balance owed or the credit due.
For MONTHS the app has showed a technical error message and I am unable to change anything about billing or pay my bill. I have called multiple times and updated the app multiple times with no improvement. I have to call to pay my bill every month; I’ve even attempted to set up auto pay several times and have provided the necessary information, however I still have to call monthly because I’m not getting charged and my bill becomes delinquent. Very frustrating. “We apologize, we are experiencing a technical problem. Please try again later. We appreciate your patience.”
I just wrote an email to. RG&E two weeks ago about this. It can take up to 2 or 3 weeks for a payment to show in the app, because of that it’s always telling me the wrong amount. That said the payment part of the app is one of the easiest I’ve used, one click and done. If they’d figure out how to update it within a couple days of making a payment I’d recommend it, as is.. if you don’t mind getting frustrated, calling RG&E or having to go on the website anyways, go ahead
This app makes it easier to pay your bill and at any location. Because in the past I had to call or go to an rge location. Or find a store that will accept payment there.
All functions work quickly and easily. The interface is intuitive and everything I need to submit meter readings or pay my bill are right where I would expect them to be.
Great app to go paperless, you can see all the statements and history payments made to your different accounts. The huge issue I have with the app is that every time I try to pay through it, it says an error occur and cannot make a payment. So you have to call or go online in the website. Which is a waste of time, when your have an app that supposed to be able to this.
I really love this app because it’s so easy to make a payment and I don’t have to go to the office and pay a bill. Works really great I recommend this app to everyone who has hard times to go to the office and pay a bills .
The app is very solid. VERY easy to pay bill, view pdf bill. Billing/estimates/meter reads have been horrific lately. But at least the app allows you to pay your unexpected huge bill with a couple of clicks!
Cool, thought having an app would make life easier. Enroll in autopay and just make sure everything’s fine. NOPE. Autopay says enrolled, doesn’t draw from my account or pay my bill. Service almost gets shut off cause the app failed to notify of any sort. And when I tried to pay. Autopay doesn’t allow you to submit a payment unless you have to navigate through the app to shut it off. Terrible.
Everything is so simple and clear. There isn’t 100 different pages where it’s impossible to find anything. I wish all my bill apps where like this honestly.
So many websites are horribly designed, which makes this one an exception. It’s very intuitive, and the performance is always good too. I use it for everything RGE related….
Life is busy enough who has time to remember when to pay a bill. It’s easy log on to the RGE app and it gives your RGE Bill and you just press the button to pay your bill. It’s very simple.
I actually like the app way more than calling in or walking in. Helps me stay current to date and alerts me about outages in my area and anything else I might need to know about my energy supply.
I have been waiting for something like this! I went to pick up the phone today to call RG&E’s customer service, then realized I could easily do what I needed from my phone! Thank you for saving me so much time! I’m truly impressed!
Excellent and convenient way to pay the bill, but my current cost is very high and I spend very little, because I live alone and I spend little time in the mini-apartment.
I have had a number of issues where I have had to call customer service and be on hold for 2+ hours and listen to the same prerecorded jargon about your business over and over. This makes it very frustrating and makes me feel uneasy about your service as a whole.
I can actually preview the statements using the app, whereas in an only download the statements using a browser. It is easy to submit my meter readings with the app also.
Doesn’t keep payments that have been scheduled info up, constantly borked billing. Using multiple bills in a SINGLE WEEK. Doesn’t even register payments made until very late and adds that to bills. Doesn’t email confirmation of payments scheduled or received payments. I’ve verified my email and I get bills, but no payment confirmations or receipts. Honestly outright the worst of the utilities that have apps that are usable to a minimum. And seems to have completely either forgotten or erased my most recent payment (again), but I say that and I’ll bet it hits later anyway despite the app claims it was never made. It’ll just post super late.
RG&E’s website has been nonfunctional for a few days, so I eventually decided to download the app to pay my bill. Immediately frustrated that I could not log in. Eventually figured out had to type my login and password in by hand not use Apple’s password manager. Annoying when you have are using a strong password.
Finally, the app has ‘self-explanatory’ labels for Action Steps/Buttons and uses data in my Account to link the payment to my billing account after logon. 2-3 clicks to pay my bill! Great! DHT
App is super easy to use and I really like how you can view your whole bill too. Unfortunately RGE is a monopoly and overcharges their customers accompanied by extremely poor customer service. Most months I’m paying double what my mortgage is just to keep the lights on.
When I first downloaded the app when it first came out it seemed to work ok just a bit slow. Now it will not even log me on. Uninstalled then reinstalled still nothing. Its funny because I keep getting e-mails to down load and use. Tried one more time and again nothing. What a waste of time.
If you can’t log in for some odd reason, it’s user error; Logged on my first try, was a bit hesitant cause it took 4 seconds to load. OoOoOoOo lol But In all seriousness, it’s about time we had an app. Another outlet of service, thank you.
