Timed items, watchlist, auction results

Overall a pretty good app, but could use some modifications. Need to revise app so that you can bid on timed auction items from the app and not have to log into the website. Would be very beneficial if you could look up auction results in the app and not have to log into the website. The watchlist function needs to be revised so that you can quickly delete items out of your watchlist without having to open the individual item up and uncheck it. It would also be beneficial to have a function where you could add items to your watchlist by either swiping right or left from the inventory or search screen.

App needs improvement.

The app itself is mostly functional, but it’s very irritating to not be able to search past selling prices easily. About their functionality tests: The machines I was able to start did operate as indicated. None of the functionality tests for the excavators listed whether or not their thumbs where operational, and on 1/3 if the excavators that had thumbs they were not operational. About half to 2/3rds of the mini excavators had oil leaks that were both significant and obvious. No place was this noted in the in app description. Also, about 20% of the excavators and loader backhoes (not counting those listed as non-operational) wouldn’t start, so perhaps they were completely non-operational idk. There’s really no substitute for checking the machines out in person.

Fantastic app easy to use and navigate very friendly customer service could not find anything to complain about the bidding process is made as easy as 1/2/3 it's that simple you can go to the Auction or sit in your recliner and bid away in the comfort of your own home I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for that new or used piece of equipment

Nice App but still has a way to go

The app works but not as well on my iPhone but not as well as my computer. There is no Auction Results in the mobile app which makes it worthless (compared to my lap top or desktop) to review past results when buying equipment! You search for past Auction results and it brings up furniture auctions. Sorry RB, you can do better!!!!

Fantastic

This may be the most competent app to bid on larger equipment I have ever stumbled upon. It is easy to navigate and highly efficient. I can clarify that the experience was indeed one that I enjoyed.

Audio issues

This app has the potential to be great but it needs to respect the audio output preferences of the user. When a user has Bluetooth headphones on and connected it needs to send the audio to those devices and not to the speakers of the device. Some people don’t want to have their bidding auctioneer audible to all and sundry.

Unable to delete items on the Watch List

Even though I deleted all items in my watch list listed on my Ritchie Brothers web portal account, the items remained on my app watch list. This created a problem when trying to add items to my watch list so I could bid in them at the time of an upcoming auction since there is a limit in the number of items you can have in your watch list. I spoke to support twice and they are not able to resolve the problem, even by deleting and reinstalling the app. Support has no clue how to resolve the issue. I can no longer bid for items using the app, making it useless.

Richie Brothers is great; fees are a little much, but if you buy something and need it ASAP they will help you all they can to get loaded during an Auction in progress. The Richie Brothers financing Team are awesome. Thanks

Look like after they get your money then you have to wait in line no signs to say come in here off the feeder had to go al the way a round just to be told o if you don’t need loader assent go ahead after I bought it no keys and some one has hit it with pic before and after looks like they have gotten too big and stop caring about the people that helped make them

Please fix password pasting

I’m often required to sign back into my account. My password is complicated and very long. Please fix the pasting option for the password field. iOS 12.4 iPhone XS Max I enjoy the app, I even bought a skid steer through it last year! Thanks

Searching using serial number.

Before app updated, you could use the last 4 digits of a serial number and search for a item. This is no longer available. Could that be reinstated ? Very handy feature when you are trying to track down items.

Missed the mark

Any app that does not allow autofill or pasting of credentials from industry password managers does not understand or take security seriously. Second, when you spend hours selecting items to watch, then enter the times auction only to find out your watch list is not carried over is useless, it’s not hard, ebay has been doimg it for years.

Nice but lacking

Would be nice to have a live feature and also a way to delete items that you were watching after bidding ended.

Awesome easy to use app! Everything is great the only downside is it’s lacking add “share” functionality in item view!

App loses connection

The app loses connection during live bidding regularly. Have lost buys because of it. Using IOS. Maybe it’s a Apple problem but still needs fixed. I buy a lot on Rb auctions.

Wish it were more dependable

I am constantly going to their website because the app shows I’m logged in but doesn’t remember my watchlist, purchases and priority bids. It would also be nice if you could actually participate in the live auctions from the app as well.

Your website needs work.

Your website is difficult to navigate it could be more user-friendly. It also crashes during auctions. I’m sure due to the extensive amount of users during that time.

Great for viewing. Absolutely dismal for bidding

I suspect this application was never tested from a workflow perspective. The interaction between the application and transfer to the mobile site for bidding is horrible. It’s very difficult to sort through and filter the items that are on the wishlist.

Unusable for password manager users

It seems like a good app with one catch. If you use a password manager you are unable to copy past passwords to the login field. When my password is 25 randomly chosen alpha numeric characters with special characters included the his it means I can’t log in to the app from my phone.

Hard to navigate

It’s hard to put in specific search parameters on their website. I am looking for a Day cab with a PTO or wet kit that’s automatic and there is really not a search option for that

Auction results

Used app to purchase equipment when not near a computer. Would be helpful to have auction results on the app as well. All in all great app.

Poor app

App is very confusing. I am registered to bid. I have several items watched. When it comes time to bid, you have to find the right link buried on another page to actually start bidding. Not very intuitive.

Log out issue

After each release, the application logs out. Very often after this it does not accept the old password and you need to restore it.

Rip off

This place will swap your items out after you win. If it doesn’t sell for enough they allow their sellers to pull the items and pretend like it was not in the auction.

App lags terribly and doesn’t pick up 80% of things I put on my watch list. Bad for business. This should be a priority in a time of doing everything in virtual reality I would think.

Mostly Useless

It works well for searching for equipment but that’s it. I can be logged in but will not save any watch listings. Also can’t actually bid from the app. I have to go to the website to do anything but a simple search.

If you add too many watched items you can’t add anymore. And there is no way of removing old ones. 🤔

Does not have enough info

Might be okay if you’re at the event and can see the item in person. But app does not show mileage, fuel, transmission and equipment configuration on the live bidding app. And minimal pictures and condition report needs work.

Pretty bad app!

Honestly I buy and sell a few machines or trucks a year with Ritchie bros but your app and website is pretty awkward to use. When you scroll through pages and pages of stuff then find a listing your interested in and click on it. Then when you’re done looking at it it puts you back to the beginning of the list so you have to scroll and scroll and scroll. Also it’s very cumbersome to navigate between timed lots and live auction lots on auction day. If you switch over it’ll kick you out and you have to log in again. Then guess what? Scroll scroll scroll again! On the watched list, timed auction lots can’t be bid on from that screen on auction day. Also it’s difficult to place a priority bid on auction day sometimes it’ll work if you’ve already added the item to your watched list, but if you haven’t it’ll just send you back to what’s currently bidding. Very time consuming if the lot you’re bidding on is 200 lots away from what’s selling now. And if you need to switch rings? Scroll scroll scroll. And if you’re already in one location specific auction like say chehalis and you use the search function it might randomly throw you in items from other locations. Basically when I’m serious about buying items in multiple rings and timed auction in the same day I need to log into it from my mobile device and a laptop or multiple computers to be able to not lose my place and miss anything. This is why honestly I really preferred on-site bidding. But this app is pretty shakey. Be happy to offer my free time to make some suggestions and improvements!
