It was easy to download and pay thru the app because the online access to my account wouldn’t let me pay on my cell phone from the link in the emailed bill I received. It also let me see my statement they the app which I also couldn’t access by direct login from email.
I have been complaining about the SCG website for years, as it might very well be the most poorly designed website on the planet. So when I logged on today and couldn’t do what I needed to do (because the site is the opposite of user friendly), I was excited to see that there was an app, as I thought it would be more logical. Nope. It’s just as clunky and poorly designed as the website. The one and ONLY reason I say it’s slightly better is because it’s quicker, but it’s just as bad functionally. On a scale of 1 to 1000 the website is a 1, the app is a 2. My best guess is that SCG doesn’t have a formal web department and has some ancient “do-it-all” IT guy designing their website and app rather than hiring someone who knows how to design these things.
Not sure if it’s only me, but attempting to pay online is somehow impossible. I’ve attempted using browsers Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on varying PC and Mac platforms. None of them work consistently giving messages of “session expired” when you try to pay when there is no chance it could have timed out. This app still has failed me before too. But it’s at least better than all the other terrible options I’ve since attempted. So yeah, I generally use this now.
Honestly I don’t write reviews often but the SCG app makes my life so much easier. You can see your bill, even the PDF, and make payments without a problem. It stores all your new info like payment methods on the app and online. Definitely a good direction they made by creating an app.
We have recently moved from another state, every month for the 1st three months we we’re constantly being overcharged, but we still had to pay & then when they finally fixed it then returned the difference in the form of account credit as opposed to returning to original payment method. Ridiculous!! Every month i had to call customer service & they didnt make a difference either, very rude , nasty & distasteful! Wasnt a good experience to welcome our family!
As a frequent user of this app I can honestly say I’ve been using it without problems for over a year now.I’m able to view the information I need, can look at historical bills, and make a payment free of charge. What else can I ask for?
I use the UI and SCG apps both to pay my bills. My UI app will save my payment info for quick easy payment. The SCG app will not! I click “Save payment info for future payments” every single time I pay my bill and it never saves!! It’s very aggravating. I might as well just write and mail a check at that point. Sometimes the app also will not let me sign in saying my password is incorrect, I wait a day and try again, at that point it works. Some serious fixes need to be done to this app.
Pay on the go!! No stress of calling, or finding a location to make a payment. I use Face ID to sign in, press pay and I’m good to go. Thanks for always handling all my situations professionally and in a timely manner. I will definitely recommend this! Thanks again, Shanda_XO
I have been using this app for a long time, just when you think they got it right it decides to delete your logon information and passwords then you have to start over, the latest thing is it doesn’t like to remember my checking account information, I have to reenter my bank account information every time along with the routing number, at least it works but it will never win a Super Bowl because it fumbles the ball on the 10 yard line
Easy enough to use the app. Be aware that if you want to or have made a partial payment, when returning to pay the balance, the amount due will still show the full billing amount. It’s not that intuitive to see where to change payment amount.
I love this app but I was really disappointed when I couldn’t access the app in Europe not even the webpage online. I’ve tried to access it over the phone and over the computer and it didn’t work which resulted in being late to pay the bill.
The SCG app is super easy to use. I always use it to pay my bill, check on account information or anything else I need. I also like the mobile app instead of paper billing because it’s eco friendly :)
The lack of a method for adding a credit card for a payment option is entirely inconsistent with the options provided on the website, the option should be provided in the mobile app as well. The autopay setup is entirely unintuitive and the blurb they put under it in preferences is incorrect as they do not provide a means to set it up to take the payment on the due date.
I give this app five stars it makes paying your bill very easy it’s secure, and it takes care of everything for you. It sent to reminder so you’re never late.
Lol I remembered it was due, clicked on the app, looked up my password and it went to the page immediately - almost paid it by accident it was that quick!!
Not sure why a company would make it nearly impossible to pay a bill online or in app. Maybe they’re looking for late fees from everyone who just gives up trying to pay their bill. If I could switch carriers I’d do it just for the fact that it’s insulting how useless this app is. I hope everyone involved with the app and website steps on a handful of leggos on a daily basis.
Better than the website, in my opinion. The app updated quicker than the app. Easy to use. I wonder…is this where our sky high electric payments go? 🤣 good app though.
For months this or their website would not work on my iPad but today, HOORAY its working! Since then it seems easy to use and shows all I need to see. Probably will re-review once I’ve used it for longer than a month.
I love this app! It makes paying my bill and seeing my account info easy! It got 4 stars only because it keeps forgetting my login info and I have to reenter it each time.
Very easy to use. One problem I have is they want you to pay 2-3 days in advance in order for it to be considered on time. Which if this is direct app why would you need to pay 2 days in advance?
Every utility app should be this straightforward!!!
This has got to be the greatest most simplest app in modern day history. This is the blueprint of how it should be done, simple, intuitive, no nonsense and BUG FREE!
Title says it all.. it does not make paying the bills easier. In fact it adds more steps bc you try and use the app then it doesn’t work. Then you try and pay via the website on iphone doesnt work. So then you have to find a laptop download chrome or firefox and pay via that
