Speak Up - Katy ISD

I do not agree with this app because it supports unnecessary snitching. The app supports snitching by allowing kids to report any minor teasing or possible jokes they hear or see. I do understand that somethings shouldn’t be joked about ,but in today’s society we make light of serious subjects. By keeping this app up you may also be receiving submissions that are meant as jokes but are not and that could cause confusion. Back to the snitching, minor jokes or complications that could be worked out independently are reported by over analyzing students. Removing this app would also allow students to learn problem solving which they will use in the real world unlike most things learned at school.

i know that this is a app to report serious situations such as if a student threatens another, etc. but i dont believe this really solves anything, theres kids that report non-serious situations and the person reported gets in trouble for it, this teaches the kids that reporting anything they dont like, especially non-serious things such as jokes, makes them believe that reporting anything anywhere else that they dont like will solve anything. unfortunately thats not how it works and i dont think you should be allowing kids to think that. I think there should be a way so you can choose how the teacher solving the situation solves it. For example, if a student uses alcohol, and they know that there's only one person who saw them use it, then it’s not as anonymous. Maybe they should be able to put a text in so they can ask the teacher if they can make up a fake student that reported them, or say that saw them doing the drug use themselves, not a student.

I downloaded this game in hopes of some afternoon fun, only to be rewarded with a dysfunctional game. It's super glitchy. I did the whole "speak up" thing and sent in a "report" or whatever but some character named Katy said it wasn't valid. I don't know what to do next. I keep sending more and more in just to be given the same response. This games broken, I want my money back.
