Current version has a BUG!!
Square recently an open check filter to their reports allowi g users to toggle between viewing sales data for just closed transactions or also including saved tickets that have not yet been laid for. This feature works fine in the web based dashboard but the developers failed to update the iOS version. Since that feature was recently released the ios dashboard ALWAYS includes sales totals for BOTH open and closed tickets. This means if a ticket gets created and saved but NOT PAID it is still reflected in the sales total for that day even if you havent collected.

Good app that I check all the time
I had some problems when the app changed but most of it has been fixed. There’s lots more functionality than before, pretty easy to use. It’s nice to see it getting better.

Terrible upgrade
They pushed out an upgrade in the middle of the busy holiday season without warning. I’m not a fan of the new interface but the main reason for the one star review is they removed the ability to compare sales to the same day 52 weeks ago. That’s the feature I use most. UPDATE: The developer responded and what’s more embarrassing is they don’t even understand how their own app works. I’ve tried the solution they proposed and it compares the sales to the same DATE a year ago not same day 52 weeks ago. So for example it compares Black Friday sales to Thanksgiving Day sales a year ago because they are the same date. That’s USELESS please bring back the 52 week comparison that existed in the previous version so I can do things like compare 3rd Saturday sales in December to 3rd Saturday sales in December 1 year ago. Also I have since discovered that you’ve removed the sales by hour graph so I can no longer look at my sales curve for each day. You’ve replaced it with a graph that just shows the amount of each individual transaction throughout the day. Have the developers ever even worked in retail? Once again USELESS. Please bring back the hourly sales curve chart so I can view when my sales spikes will be and staff accordingly.

Restore the 52-week comparison!
UPDATE: I’ve restored a better star rating, now that I see this feature is back. Please make it stay this way! There wasn’t anything wrong with your updates, per se, but at the very least, you must retain the older features as options, because many of us find them essential. SUGGESTION: Add an option for the 52-week-ago comparison to custom ranges. There is no technical reason not to include this. (Even if there’s an overlap, though it might be good to note this.) ORIGINAL: Our business relies on making a comparison to the same day 52 weeks prior (364 days; not the same date during the previous year). Weekends are much busier for us than weekdays, so comparing a Saturday to a Friday is USELESS. I cannot believe you’ve removed this feature. UNACCEPTABLE!

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
Square updated this app and completely destroyed it overnight. 52 week comparisons are now gone in favor of “one year ago today” comparisons. As a service establishment why would I care how a Thursday last year compares to a Saturday this year just because they’re on the same date? I need to be able to compare the corresponding day from the same month (I.e 52 weeks ago) to be able to draw any conclusions about trends in business levels. Dollar amounts are also gone as well as any legibility in terms of hour by hour sales. I honestly have no idea how this was approved but they took a simple but extremely useful app and utterly nuked it for no reason. Square, if you’re reading this, PLEASE roll back to the previous version and beta test new versions with your very high paying customers next time.

Years of great use in the toilet currently
I’ve loved using this app to be able to utilize multiple locations for years and see at a glance where my labor is, sales reports and comparisons. Some time a week ago something broke and many of us have been getting the “temporarily locked” error when trying to log in. The entire system I am very happy with, but this issue has created a very inconvenient situation for many business owners and operators. The only other option to see full day sales reports for multiple locations is on your computers web browser. I’m only adding a negative review at this time to try and help push developers to fix this, multiple calls and no change in a week!!! Update that came out on Tuesday is no help.

Not able to login - temporary lockout
I have not been able to login the dashboard app on my iPhone for a few weeks now. It keep saying “ temporarily lockout - there have been too many failed sign-in attempts” I have 2 accounts I used to login using this app but both are showing the same message now. And I know the password is correct because it’s from the password manager and I am able to login using the Square app and the website. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalled still getting the error. I have been using this app for over 5 years now I wonder if the app is using some data that is accumulated over time in my device if that’s the case its a bug to me. Right now I need help to be able to login again!

Extremely difficult to read the graph
After the newest update the it became so hard to read and comprehend the graphing. There’s no dollar amounts show except on the big hours and it’s not consistent at all. I use this app to check sales in 3 stores daily and now I can see the amount they have made for the whole day but hourly makes no sense when there’s no control numbers on the graph. The last version everything was at your finger tips the moment you opened the app, now you have to scroll down to get the rest of the days information and then when you go to the graph it seems so jumbled together between this week and the week prior. It was much easier to consume before the newest update.

New version vastly less functional
The latest update makes determining tips for different time frames, locations and days awkward and clunky when it used to be easier (though there were still LOTS of potential for improvement). The comparisons to 52 weeks ago no longer show the whole day for the 52 weeks ago so you can’t predict how the current day will go side by side. I started using this app when it first came out and for the last few years it has only degraded instead of getting better with each improvement. When I first started using Square, the programmers were very responsive to feedback but now they don’t even seem to understand how their app is used by their customers.

Good, but feels neglected
This app definitely is not bad. It does its job and lets me keep tabs on my business wherever I go. But it just feels a little neglected and like it could do a lot more. For one thing, iPhone X support would be great. An easy way to see transaction and look at some more in-depth data would really make it great. This is all data that’s easily available with square, so I would think it would not be all that difficult to get in this app. I love having this app, and it works well, I would just love to see its potential fully tapped.

Not working!
This is a great app while it worked! I first downloaded the dashboard when I started using square retail with No issues! It came time to update the password which I did with the back office on my computer, then went to re- log in on the dashboard app and immediately state there where to many attempts with the email used??? I just changed the pass word and now to many attempts with only one try??? On top of that there is no reset or customer service available to help fix. Apps been deleted as it’s no longer any good. Since the switch to square retail this has been the only negative thing I have come across. Fix it Square!!!!! And does anyone notice that square never reply’s to anyone on this review board???

Long term user with multiple businesses
This app is simple and allows for a quick glance of salsas performance. It feels significantly neglected and Square should be severing their high paying customers with better technologies, that’s what brought us to them in the first place. Step it up! I have multiple businesses and historically been able to log in/out to check on different operations. Now I’m not able to login to any of my accounts, and keep getting the “TEMPORARY LOGOUT there have been too many failed attempts for this email address” for all my accounts (my account info is being entered correctly). This is a ridiculous error and should be remedied ASAP!

Was perfect but… “updated”
I use this app many times a day to keep track of sales but they updated it today and now it’s crap and more confusing I wish you would of left it alone. if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Update: Thank you Developers for switching back to the older version it is much better sometimes simple is better. Dashboard app is for quick checking of sales when I need a more in-depth detailed analysis I use the square app.

Stopped working; now it’s back!
Said i tried to sign in too many times incorrectly after Square prompted me to update password. I’ve uninstalled, deleted, reinstalled but nothing works. No support either so whatever. UPDATE: After deleting the app in frustration after a few weeks, I actually received an email from Square about updates and a request to reinstall. I did that today and it’s working again. Thanks to Square for listening and please continue to support this app. It’s a real help for owners.

Needs some improvements
I’ve been using Square and this app for over 5 years. Square itself is awesome and is updated on a somewhat regular basis. This app however has not changed at all. It would be great if you could add some filters to this app reporting. Such as choosing to look at net sales instead of just gross sales. As another reviewer stated, it seems this app and it’s development has been forgotten. I use it daily, would be nice to see some much needed improvements!

Suspended account and no payouts
My account has been suspended for almost 4 months now and Square is not paying out my funds yet. When I message the support center via mail, I get no response which is not supposed to be so. I would like you to get across to the necessary department and let me know when my funds will be available for payout because it’s long overdue. Since you can’t continue to process payments for my business, at least you should be able to transfer the funds to my bank account without hassle. What’s the delay and when am I getting my funds to my bank account?

App no longer works
After 7 years of using this app every day, the dashboard app has stopped functioning. This app was critical to my understanding of my business for daily sales, trends, and specific item sales. This year a series of updates took away the major functionality of the app. We lost the trend graphs and comparative sales. Then we lost the item and category details. For the past two months, whenever I open the app it says “Unable to load results. Please wait 30 seconds and try again.” I’ve been waiting but it doesn’t looks like a fix is coming.

It could be so much better
The dashboard on the computer has so much functionality and the reports are endless. But on the app it’s missing all of that. Also recently they changed their mobile website. I aided to be able to access the full site on my phone but it’s not an option so I have no decent way of getting the information I want unless I sit down at a computer. I’m hoping this app starts to get a little more attention from Square.

Most recent update bricked the app
The app was working fine less than 24 hours ago, but the new update base it completely unusable. It opens then is just stuck on the main page after login, and can’t click on anything. If square is going to have as many apps that do the same thing as square does, at least make them all usable. Appointments seems to be the only app that functions as it should. I would prefer to have Dashboard for all my settings and messages and checkouts, but why can’t they seem to get this one thing right

New update.
I hate the new update. The old version worked great, especially the sales graph per hour vs previous week or year. The new graph is 10 times harder to read and not broken simply by hour break down. Classic example of fixing something that was not broken. My whole team used graph when preparing food and forecasting sales. Now the new one is just not readable at a glance. Hope they create an option to go back or get old visuals back since they were way more user friendly.

Awesome
I have been using square register for two months it has been flawless the deposits are in the bank the next day. I called them just to get an idea of customer support and I was impressed. They answered right away and were very helpful and nice to deal with. Any business looking for an affordable pos system square is a no brainer. I even utilized their free online marketplace and love it.

More functions for this app is needed
I do like to see my numbers from here, thanks for creating such an easy access app to my square account. However, I do feel there are some improvement needed. For an example, I can’t foresee how is my month or the week looks like without looking at my schedule. It will be nice to know what to do or focus on doing if my projection is low. Or, not to freak out if my numbers are down at the moment but it’s actually a very good month.

New App is awful
I do not know why they changed this! It keeps locking up my phone. I remove and reinstall and keeps happening. It is more cumbersome and harder to get the information I need. In the past, I depended on this app for quick answers. It is mostly not used since it is such a hassle. Went from being one of my best apps to the worst. Where is cash? This was a great tool to verify deposits. That’s gone! The date field st the top is so wide it’s a hassle to get to the correct report buried far to the right. You screwed up what was once a great tool.

New updates are not so great.
I use this app dozens of times throughout the day. Mostly the categories section. I loved seeing the breakdown of each category. Now they’ve changed it to where you only see the category and it doesn’t get broken out like before. The items section is the same with the update. Now I have to go on my computer to see check the data and it’s a major hassle. I feel blind with these features taken away from the palm of my hand.

Great!
I used Square for the first time at a festival this past weekend. Worked great. No problems. A plus being able to go back and see what items sold. I like the idea from a previous comment of having an inventory line. I understand the policy of funds held if over $500 in one day. Looking forward to using this app again in the future. Customers trust it.

Great service. Dashboard is lacking
Square itself is awesome. We’ve been using it for three years and have never had any of the problems people complain about in reviews here. However I agree with folks who say this dashboard is not sufficient. Need to see inventory, transactions, and other stuff you see in the web site to make this app useful

But not clear on what if anything will change. Overall I am less concerned with the update and mostly concerned on why I can click on the sales and get the breakdown of sales net gross, discounts, payment breakdown, refunds etc. I now need my computer to complete my weekly reports vs. my phone. I just don’t understand why a new version would include less functionality. Or am I missing it? Is it there and I just can’t find it? Thank you! - Frustrated long time Square evangelist.

So much easy access info in one place
Love this new app. So much customizable info and easy to work as well. Can see how sales are doing currently in the day, compare sales to previous days/weeks/months, what items are selling best, etc. So much easier than getting on the computer and searching. It's all right in yourhands. Nice job guys.

Temporary Lockout
Have been locked out for the last 5 days with the error “There have been too many failed sign-in attempts for this email address.” Called Square customer service 3 days ago and they just told me to keep checking the app and that it will hopefully be fixed soon…changed my password, uninstalled the app and reinstalled…still nothing. So bummed, been using it for years to keep tabs on the shop and employee hours when I’m away. Oh well, just another casualty of Square loosing their edge.

Great!
Really great for keeping tabs on sales on the go. It would be great to be able to compare two custom dates (or ranges) for events that are not an exact distance apart. Also an Apple Watch app + complication of total sales would be really handy for watching sales during busy markets and such. Keep up the good work!

It will be really great if we can get stats for the marketing section in square. I would like to be able to see who has opened my newsletters and all of that from this app. Could we possibly get a look at customers as well. I would like to make changes to their profiles, see their stats, and how they are doing with rewards.

Best way to borrow money
Square has helped me sooooo much with my small business. They lend me money and I pay it back with a portion of my sales. So easy to use. I charge a client. Then I have that money instantly deposited into my account and part of that money goes toward my balance with square. Very cool. Happy customer here :)

Reverse the update!!!
I am so mad at the new update! Who needs to see every single transaction in tiny little lines with no exact numbers or times! This is absolutely the worst. I rely on hourly sales updates and now the only way is to look on a laptop!!!!! Bring back the nice oversee able bar graph version because this is absolutely useless! Like someone else said, if it’s not broke don’t fix it, it was perfect! The sales comparisons are now some vague wavy line, ughhhhhh so frustrated….

I can’t believe that in all my Square apps there’s no projections! I would love to have it calculate estimated future income based on appointment bookings, dollar per hour, percentages booked, etc. These things would be very motivational! I also wish that dashboard offered control of what things appear to the clients such as Business name, address, contact info, website, logo, etc. Those seem like “dashboard” functions to me but maybe I’m just too new to Square.

step in the right direction
I have been wanting an easy way to check sales totals on my phone and iPad, this fits the bill. I would like to see more of the information that is available on the full dashboard, such as looking at monthly and yearly totals. I look forward to seeing what the next updates bring.

Good Sales Comparison
Like the most recent layout update. However the sales comparison has been changed to only be what you are time frame you are viewing. For instance yearly compares to last year. Monthly to last month. But you used to be able to compare monthly to last year same month. Now can only do previous month. Need to put that availability back.

Helpful, but I still need the website
This is a good looking app with some nice features. I do miss being able to see the individual transactions for a given day. In order to see that I still have to log into the website dashboard. Add that feature and I'll stop holding your five star rating hostage. :-)

Amaze balls
This is a wonderful app for a business on the go. As a completely mobile business, this has been a lifesaver for coordinating between admin and our sales teams. If you didn't understand the point of this app, it clearly isn't meant for you.

DO NOT UPDATE.
6.5.1. Is complete trash. The new UI is terrible. Needlessly complicated layout. They’ve tried to take the complexity of the website and put it on the app. Square, please give us an optional view in settings. How are you so out of touch with what retailers and small business people want? The only reason to use this dashboard is to check on quick sales. Now I have to go to multiple menus and scrolls to find simple information.

New look is TERRIBLE
The updated the look and took away a a key feature of last year SAME DAY. Comparing a Saturday to a Friday is not accurate You need same day comps. Also their new sales graph broken down to the minute is just DUMB. Maybe 10 min intervals but sometimes it takes a few minutes to check someone out. So your graph goes up and down like a name ekg.

So Much Potential
The app could be so much more if it weren’t so neglected. Over a year since the iPhone X was released, and there’s no iPhone X support. Also, there’s no way to filter or view modifier sets. So, as an example, instead of being able to see a breakdown how many of each flavor of cake we’ve sold, all we see is “cakes” and the value. Really wish a little more time and love was given to what could be a great app.

Nearly useless
The data is significantly delayed (some purchases do not show up until days later). Reports function lacks important options and the interface is awkward in many places. Really is only good at checking employee hours if you’re using employee management. My advice - use the website. Actually, when I called Square about the issues with the app the support person recommended not using it at all.

Completely unresponsive
When I download the app it is useful for a period of time lasting less than a day. Then, when I try to use it on subsequent attempts, it completely freezes and is unresponsive. The only fix I’ve found is deleting and re-downloading every time this occurs which is at least daily.

Updated version eliminated key feature with no warning.
My business has been with square for 8 years and I have been an avid user of the app for years. They just updated the app WITH NO WARNING and eliminated a key feature—the hour by hour comparison to the previous week, 52 week, and year. This feature was integral to our businesses faith operation, and we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Worthless Company and Customer Service
Spare yourself some dignity and time, to deal with Square is to have no respect for yourself. They will decide that one of your sales is illegitimate, will hold your funds, will not respond to your support emails for 10 days, will remove an ability from your account to call them. I end up calling the customer and asking them if I can refund the payment and then charge it again via different merchant.

Security Issue: Reveals full mobile number used to 2 factor authentication
This app compromises security because when you sign in it displays the entire phone number when performing 2 factor authentication. This provides any malicious information with private information that could be used to compromise your square seller account.

Bad update..!
Since the most recent update, I can no longer use Face ID to log into my account on the Square Dashboard app.. this is a serious problem because it means I have to stop what I’m doing to type in the password and make sure one of the employees or customers doesn’t see me enter it..! There is no point In this change and I will stop yawing this service if FULL Face ID support is not restored soon.!
