The app is okay. I like that it links you to helpful information like explaining accumulated credit and friendly hours. Notification always comes through so no issue there either. I’m still getting used to m-power, so far I don’t like it, but appreciate that this option is available. I still follow my previous easy 3 schedule, as I get used to it, but see no real difference in my usage. My biggest issue is that it does not allow debit and credit cards as a way to add credit to my account. The pay stations are not an option for me right now so I try to keep what I can as convenient as possible. My direct deposit goes to my cash app, so the app not accepting the account and routing number was frustrating. I tried with my credit card as well and same issue. Also, being forced to keep an unused bank account open is likely going to be the deal breaker. Yes I could transfer from CA to my bank but I no longer have that debit card since the account is supposed to be closed and I have money on my cash app debit card. This would be the main reason I switch back.
SRP, you guys need to have your app reset or something. I was not able to get into the app and was stuck in a constant log in and forced log out loop. It keeps saying something went wrong and kicks me out as SOON as I see the balance amount.
My power just randomly shut off without warning me of low credit. Normally, I would get notified if I have less than 2 days (which I prefer $10 & under), but it was better than nothing (and other machines always beeped, mine doesn’t). I just checked a few days ago & had plenty of credit and was going to check within 2 days, then while napping out, my power shut off. I thought it was my complex, like other constant issues, ended up being on my end. I know it’s been hot outside & the AC runs more, but in the last 3 yrs of this place, my credit has never drained like that. Real disappointed SRP hasn’t fixed this issue for mobile alerts. Luckily, I didn’t have to call & was able to have it turned back on after a few mins of waiting.
The notifications feature hasn’t worked for about six months. I figured they will fix it. But now it’s just ridiculous. I’ve had the power go off in my house twice now. Which potentially can mess up my appliances especially bigger appliances like a refrigerator. I don’t think that you guys are taking this issue. Seriously because again it’s been six months or more. But if I don’t do my end of keeping money in the MPower box, my power goes out. But your guys are getting your money so it doesn’t seem to matter that we are struggling to accommodate our lives due to your inadequacies. So now instead of dropping $40 - $50 into the box I’m having to put $150 at a time just so that I’m not in the risk of running out of power and I have to set up my own personal alarm so I check my balance every Monday, regardless if I have enough power in there for 30+ days I’m still having to check it every Monday just to make it a habit
I know some people complain about this app and the device. But I’ve yet to have had an issue. From running to a store to put money in the card, and now using the app. They don’t shut off your power between 8pm and 8am even if your balance hits $0. It’s super easy to refill on the app. The machine sends a warning beep that will Cut into your dreams as you nap during the day and the app sends off a trigger of notifications and emails to warn you when you have 3-2-1 days left and down to Your last 10$ of balance. It’s great!
It’s ludicrous to be coerced to update you’re entire phone started just to use the app!
It’s ludicrous to be coerced Into having to update you’re entire phone system just to use the crappy app! Now I will definitely uninstall this entire useless app. Do not abide with this propaganda they all are in it. They just want your fingerprints and then they want your eye metrics. Now they will completely own your entire being now that we humbly give away our rights. This is insane. I should not have to update my ENTIRE PHONE In Order to have to update their crappy app, which actually we are giving them the rights and access to our personal account, information, pics, email, etc. I will just uninstall this app. We can just go back to the old fashion ways!
I love the app everything works well, makes things easier but you guys take forever to take our money, we have other things to pay and have to wait until you guys take your part please fix that Take the money the same day and process it the same day, instead of 4 days later when we have to add more again🫤 other than that issue everything is good!
At first I hated it. But they have fixed bugs. Reminds me when low & now shows the credit instantly. Before it took a couple days and you had no idea if it went through. Highly recommend this app now.
I love the app BUT it is no longer sending notifications that power is low. This is posing a problem. Although I’ve started to put it on my calendar to check it, what’s the point of the app if I have to do that? Also it would up d be nice if the app would allow credit card payments instead of going online. Please fix if possible.
This is a pretty cool app I can’t complain it shows everything. I just wish it had a refresh button to get new status updates instead of restarting the app all the time. This would be also great if they can have an apple wallet add on or widget for faster service but Overall great app!!!
Very disappointed in this SRP app, have used it for years and never had a problem with getting notified when power is low, now for the past year (with the app up to date) I’m never getting notified at all that power is low! Having my power turn off randomly because of it. My phone is checked and all notifications are turned on and loud yet still not one warning! Get this fixed ASAP
I loved the ease with which all my expenses, purchases and energy use could be reviewed, now with the new iOS 17 update... it no longer lets me view the menu properly, please let your designers know to adjust the menu. Thank you very much! Best regards.
Typically the app is very straight forward and easy to use, but I have recently had some issues with notifications and accessing my profile details. Overall a useful app, but it needs more frequent updates to address the bugs.
A little new to this box. Right now my only complaint is that the days that it supposed to last does not match what the meter says. I have not had it to send me notifications yet since it’s only been 2 days
When I first got the app it was working great, after about 2 months it just crashed whenever I tried to open the app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and again would be fine up until the point i signed in. Entered my password and crashed. It’s a really convenient app and would like to see this fixed.
Being able to pay on this app is great but lately every time I want to add funds to my account the app force closes every time I get to the payment screen.
The App itself is great, but it glitches a lot. When a credit is pending, and you hit “send credit to meter”, it force closes and does it every time you keep retrying.
Hopefully you don’t get stuck in your house while it’s extremely hot and can’t open the faulty app to purchase power, called SRP and wait times are over an hour. It’s over 100 degrees there isn’t time to deal with waiting hours to purchase power
I like it for now what I love is being able to pay from phone and it comes back on. I don’t like that the app does NOT reflect current balance!! I had $6 left and NO power well that was “as of midnight” balance!!! That is a nuisance and should be fixed so the meter communicates with the box and the phone in sync or at least a REFRESH button??! Also added my 2nd payment method 3 times and it won’t save ! It says it’s been added and I chose default checking and it’s no where on this app. Haven’t figured out yet how to delete the 1 st account?? How do you expect me to pay?? Also waiting on a DEBIT card payment option!!
I can’t use it anymore. Why? I have a I phone 6 and it worked just fine last month but not anymore! Are you in business with Apple trying to get people to buy more up to date phone for exhorbinant money
Bruh I try to log in and it won’t let me saying my user or password is invalid even though it’s saved into my iPhone passwords so it’s the same eveytime it let me log in. Then it stopped letting my so card payment like bruh fix your app.!!!!!!!
I can’t log in to the app without it crashing instantly. I’ve reinstalled several times. I’m not sure what to do about it, and it has had the same issue for a long time.
Love the fact that you can pay through your phone. But, it takes four to five business day for them to take it out your bank card. I don’t mind, because it’s better than nothing. The only thing that bugs me is that, it won’t show my current credit! It would only show my credit from like, six hours ago. I could have a dollar and the app wouldn’t notify me or show me. Please fix, you should add a refresh option to update you on current credit. Thank you.
It would be so much better if it actually showed you the amount you have left AT THE right time. My power has gone off so many times because it’ll say we have ten dollars left from EARLIER when actually we have like five cents so it is very inaccurate please fix it. Also every time we put money on it through the app, it will take a couple extra dollars off for no reason. So if I put a quick 10 bucks on it I guess I’m only putting like 6 and it takes the rest. Stop taking extra money
I personally think this app is great. I could see that the only downfall is that your remaining balance on the app versus the m-power box are different but ALWAYS GO OFF OF YOUR BOX!!!! This is the issue that most people are having. I consistently check my m-power box so I have never ran out of power. It’s so convenient to have! I didn’t mind driving to the stores but this is great. Just keep up checking the physical box and you’ll be all right! 5 stars if they fix the money thing, lol.
Using this app instead of having to drive 10 minutes away for electricity is amazing! You can put multiple bank accounts on there so roommates can pay straight out of their account! The only problem I have is it only updates the electricity it seems at midnight, I really wish it was real time. Also it would be nice to lock accounts with maybe a special pin, so that anyone using the app for the house can’t put money in from your bank account.
The app overall works well for its intended purpose. The other reviews are complaining about account specific problems that are unrelated to the app. 1. Not being able to buy credit is usually due to a bounced debit from the bank thus requiring a cash payment at a machine. 2. Credit not pushing to the machine is usually because they haven’t checked the box to allow it automatically. It’s a safety feature. Only problems I have are these... 1. Debit take way too long to deduct from the bank. Can take almost a week, sometimes more. Should have a pending payments screen or something and from which bank account. 2. The current credit should be updated on the app more frequently. Other than that the app works quite well.
My BIGGEST complaint about this app, is that it could take anywhere between 3 and 5 days before your bank account has any clue about your charge. My apartment is using ~$10/day during the peak of summer, so I throw $50 at a time on. Almost a week later, I mistakenly assumed it was already drafted from my account when it wasn’t and overdrafted my account. Its not the first time either. Please make this quicker on charges so I don’t have to make each payment a personal investigation.
This is my first ever app review. The app is convenient to some extent, but the balance does not reflect in real time. Please change this or add a refresh button. Also would like to have more customization options for notifications and a auto pay function if the balance falls below a certain amount it’ll debit your bank account. The app also looks outdated (for it being new) you should really get another design team working on it.
With how abundant technology has become over the past 15 years in terms of ecommerce and online payments for bills, I was beginning to worry the digital divide was getting the best of SRP. Finally we don’t have to drive to those stupid pay centers and can make payments for our electricity at home, or on the go. It’s about time SRP. Welcome to the modern day age of the internet.
I was steered towards utilizing the mobile app to be more conservative on having to drive miles away to put light. I absolutely HATE that the application does NOT have a REAL TIME UPDATE on your current credit?! It is really inconvenient when you’re trying to prioritize funds and having to reload your application 3 hours later just to maintain SOMEWHAT of an update. I understand technology etc. but with this day and age any organization that puts out a mobile application should be up to speed with today’s technical demands.
In my household we have 2 different bank accounts set to our M-Power apps but whenever we try to pay with the non default account it still always charges the default account. It is extremely irritating and frustrating.
It works, but it logs me out every single time which is super annoying, my fiancé also had the app but this morning while we were trying to put in power, it wouldn’t even load and once it did, it erased all our cards info and once we tried to put our info into the app, it won’t take it. It’s super frustrating. And I called srp, the wait time being 30 min, it asked 4 times if I wanted to be on the call back list and it took 4 times before my request actually went through.
I love being able to pay from my phone, and I appreciate the alerts I receive. But they are not accurate!! I still had 9.13 according to my app, but my home box read 0.03... not good. Also, a payment takes at least four days to come out if my checking account. Please update!! A real time reading of your power would be so much better!!
Will be a great app once the bugs are worked out. Credit is already showing on my M-power unit at home but app is STILL indicating I need to “authorize payment” and showing that I only have 1 day of credit left. However, I’m still super excited that I was actually able to apply a payment to my M-power from home.
The application informs me I still have money on my account. BOOM! Lights out. I log in to pay and it still shows a balance. Now to reset everything in my home. There is a gap of communication from what is actually on the meter to the application. Notifications are on. Yet those come in late. Love the convenience. Yet hate that I have to reset my clocks every now and than. Thank you.
Love the app, and that I can pay right away. However, we recently have not been getting notified that our electric is low! I only get notifications when I make a payment- but none notifying me that we are close to being out. It’s very frustrating.
Can you Please add the last 4 numbers from what account the payment was collected on. This would be really helpful when multiple people are paying the bill to know who paid what
The app was super convenient until it stopped letting me log in. I have deleted the app and reinstall it but it’s the same. I can’t get help from SRP and it’s become a total hassle again. Is anyone else having the issue? I know it’s not my login information because I’m able to log in on line. I need help.
I added $20 from one of my accounts that had money on and they refunded it back to me. Wont let me add on any more money from the app. Fined me 20$ for a refunded fee. I paid said fee and it wont let me pay on the app. I can only pay in cash now. Why? I had all the nessercary funds in my account and srp messed up then i get fined and punished? Bs
There is no button to purchase power???? This is very frustrating I’m still having to drive miles to money on account while others have the ability to pay on phone. Why is there no button on mine???
