My wife and I always use a bedwarmer during the winter months to take the edge off the coolness of the cotton sheets during Maryland winters, but this “connected” version is the bees knees! Set a schedule with a temp, and override it from anywhere. If it’s set to turn off at nine but the neighbors just popped the cork in another bottle of vino, just pull up the app and set the timer to stay on another 60-90 minutes. Built in safety feature that drops the temp to setting 4 if you don’t acknowledge a higher setting within a specific amount of time… genius. It really is a nice warmer. A great buy.
Overall it’s a good app, works as expected, and is mostly easy to use. But when I set up a daily schedule, it didn’t work consistently. My schedule had one entry with both sides of the blanket on the same temp for an hour, followed by two entries for different temps on each side for the next hour. The first hour always worked reliably but the second hour usually would end up with both sides at the same temp, instead of at different ones as the schedule called for. It was unpredictable. Since there wasn’t much difference between the temps anyway, I just changed to a simpler schedule with only two “both sides” entries. The only other problem I’ve run into is that if I unplug the blanket, usually the schedules are erased. That’s dumb; if the blanket can’t save it then the app should instead.
The app works fine for me, I can turn on the blanket from school or something and once I come home it will be all warm. I can see where it may be complicated but it’s not impossible to figure out.
This app, used to control our king-sized mattress pad heater, is simply terrible. Most of the functions don’t work at all, and even the basic power on/off ability only works maybe 30% of the time. The buttons in the app don’t respond. The app rarely lets us select which side of the bed to control. The timer function doesn’t work at all; I’ll set it to run for an hour and eight hours later it’s still on, with the countdown on the timer still reading an hour. Mind you, I’m operating this in a room with a strong wi-fi signal and with my phone within a few feet of the control box. The app just doesn’t work. I’d strongly recommend not buying this product and going with a mattress pad heater from a different company. I know I won’t ever buy a Sunbeam again.
The app sort of works. It usually doesn’t update the timer. Sometimes it doesn’t lower the setting when I do it. But my main issue with it is that every time I open the app it turns off any other sounds playing on my phone. This app has no sounds. Only other apps with sounds should be configured to pause other sounds when opened. I use my phone and a Bluetooth speaker as a sound machine when my daughter is sleeping, so it is very annoying that to turn my blanket on the sound turns off and I have to go back and turn it on every time. Seems like it would be an easy fix since it never should have been designed that way to begin with.
The mattress pad is 5/5, but the app design is infuriating. It gives you a warning that, if you set it higher than 5/10 heat setting you have to press a physical button to make it stay on after an hour. Totally reasonable, could be a fire hazard otherwise. But it gives you the same warning, and makes you click “OK” EVERY TIME. I own the mattress pad, I’ve turned it on with my phone dozens of times, I know what the warning says. There should be some way to dismiss it permanently.
Scheduling function suddenly stopped working, I suspect after the last app update. I tried deleting and recreating schedules, deleting and recreating the device, deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing helped… until I tried holding down the check button on the controller until the WiFi symbol started to flash (about 10 sec). Then I power-cycled the controller and set the device up like it was brand new. Then schedules started working again. We will see how long this fix lasts.
I’m a wireless network engineer and I have been trying to connect the Sunbeam WiFi blanket to my WiFi. I forced 2.4 GHZ, enabled legacy mode for devices that can’t connect to WiFi 6 routers. I did capture packets and couldn’t get this blanket to connect. At one point I was able to get it to connect to the wireless but the app wouldn’t recognize the connection. Found out it was a Toya WiFi device. Downloaded the Toya app and was able to connect the blanket within 30 seconds. Seems like the Toya app has the same functionality.
App worked until this week. Then blanket went offline and wouldn’t reconnect. Followed instructions to delete & reinstall blanket. App refuses to install. Times out & says cannot connect to Wi-Fi or router. App is not giving me the option to connect manually as it did before. Tried to report a problem through App Store but it will not let me. This app is like Sunbeam Products as of last few years. Works for a bit then dies with no customer support from company.
Used to be a great mattress pad with great smart features. about 10 months in the schedule feature — the most practical of the smart features in my opinion— simply stopped working. deleted the app and reinstalled, removed the device and re-added, tried everything. nada. Now the phone app is nothing more than a remote control. Very disappointed.
At first I had trouble because it said error f2f2f2 so we took the plug out of the extension cord and put the plug in the wall by itself with the extension cord and the I worked prefect. Also the bed heats up pretty slow but it’s understandable because I have a king bed maybe at the most it took 10 mins for it to be fully done with heating to right temp
I love my bed it is so nice and get very warm! Not too hot but hot enough to where it’s relaxing. I love how the app works it’s nice and simple and works great. Set up was a bit hard but other than that it’s awesome!!
Hi, I really like your heated blankets great product but the app to connect to your phone is outrageously complicated just to put it on a timer. Connect my blanket to my Wi-Fi but my Wi-Fi is 5G so I have to change it to 2.4 then connect my phone to Wi-Fi then connect my phone Bluetooth to my blanket then it runs a system check to see if it’s all aligned from three minutes like I’m hacking a corporation just to fail. Delete app take blanket
I unplug things such as my heated mattress pad when I leave for several days. I had a schedule set before, and when I plugged it back in, the schedule was gone. This has now happened twice. Frustrating to say the least. Guess that’s what I get for safety.
Love my electric blankets. Very comfortable. And when you’re wanting to get those extra few minutes of sleep in the mornings, it’s like being cuddled in your mothers arms.
Do not upgrade! They are now requiring your email address and a login!
When I originally purchased this product the app did not require an email address and login It just worked Now it makes you sign up with an email and they also don’t allow you to use Apple’s hidden email service either What a joke
It takes too many taps to set my device. It would be better if it saved my preferred or previous settings and didn’t require that I close a ‘got it’ window every time. I also don’t like the data they collect about me.
The blanket itself is great. It’s super soft and warms nicely. The app, on the other hand, is awful. I set a schedule and it just won’t work. I have deleted and tried again and again. I even deleted the app in hopes it would reset or something to no avail. Hope they fix the app soon.
Used to love this app, but, the scheduling feature no longer works on my mattress pad. I’ve deleted and re-added the schedule, but, that didn’t help. I can still turn it on from the app, but, the schedule is a great feature. I wish it worked.
Used this Sunbeam app for a few days and got a notification saying my password was leaked and I should change it. Worst app ever, please do not use this app!!! Security is the worst if my password was leaked and stolen in such a short period of time. Good thing I don’t use the leaked/stolen password anywhere else and made a specific one for this Sunbeam app.
Need to physically press a button on the blanket… sigh
So dumb that I have to walk back to my bedroom to hit a stupid checkmark button on the box to keep the blanket warm when I bought a smart blanket that is supposed to work with my phone. If I have to walk back to the bedroom to keep the blanket warming up, WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE APP???
The app is unfortunately, worthless. The error codes used to appear only once in a while, but after several weeks, the error codes appeared constantly, rendering the mattress pad and app unusable. I don’t understand how this app still has such a high rating.
I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years and I couldn’t get this thing connected to my phone after like 30 minutes of trying. Asking for location data to control a heated blanket is next dumb anyway, so I just gave it up.
We have a queen bed so two sides to control. My husband has the physical control and I use the app. Well I try to use the app. The touch control rarely works. If it’s on side A I can’t switch to side B. Tap tap tap, won’t switch. The app needs work.
Too many hoops to pass through. It’s just an electric blanket after all. I’m not trying to solve the worlds problems with it. just want to stay warm. It’s going back. P.s. why does the “cloud” need to know my business.
App insists that you go press a button on the physical controller making the entire app, and device, pointless. I’d return it if I could. Buy anything else.
App will not pair with Sunbeam Wi-Fi heated mattress pad
I have followed all the instructions, gone to the online help and follow those instructions, and the app keeps telling me that it does not support this device. This is a brand new, Sunbeam, Wi-Fi enabled heated mattress pad.
The blanket does get very hot but my issue is the blanket does not get hot throughout only some spots of the blanket actually get warm while others stay cold
Whenever I turn on my bedding, either from the app or from the controller, I want it to use the same timer setting I applied last time. This is not currently possible, as it forces you to use the app to set the timer each time. I tried sending this comment to Sunbeam’s support page, and got a reply to send it to their supplier (Star Elite Group) at exactly the same page where I submitted my original request. Doh! Please fix your website, and please update the app & firmware.
I recently purchased a heated blanket with an accompanying app for easy control and customization. While the blanket itself is amazing, providing consistent and adjustable warmth, the app has left much to be desired. Pros: - The heated blanket is of high quality and delivers on its promise of keeping me warm and comfortable throughout the night. - The blanket heats up quickly and maintains its temperature consistently, ensuring a cozy sleeping experience. Cons: - The app's user interface (UI) is poorly designed and feels quite premature, making it difficult to navigate and operate. - Essential features are hidden or hard to access, requiring multiple taps and swipes to perform simple tasks. - The app is not intuitive and lacks clear instructions, leaving the user to figure out the controls through trial and error. Suggestions for Improvement: - The app developers should focus on creating a more user-friendly and visually appealing UI to make the overall experience seamless and enjoyable. - Clear instructions or a tutorial for first-time users should be included to help users become acquainted with the app's features and controls. - Regular updates and bug fixes should be implemented to ensure the app remains functional and up-to-date with the latest software improvements. In conclusion, while the heated blanket itself is a fantastic product that I would highly recommend, the app needs significant improvement to match the quality of the blanket. Until the app's UI is redesigned and becomes more user-friendly, I find myself frustrated with the experience and hesitant to recommend the app to others. However, if the developers can address these issues, the combination of the heated blanket and the app has the potential to be a game-changer in the world of sleep comfort.
