Lacks Map, Cannot display more than one station
I changed from a Davis station to a Tempest. Overall I think the station is very good, but it has a couple of annoying nits. First, when mounting, it can only accommodate a 1” diameter pole. Needs to have a wider adapter. Also, the solid state rain sensor is so-so. In the Northwest, we have lighter rain. It’s not so great with lighter rain. The company can disable the software filter for you, which can improve accuracy. WRT the software, it’s a comprehensive piece of software that also shows the local forecast. I knocked one star because of two significant deficiencies: (1) there is no map that shows you the location of your station compared to other stations and that would show conditions at surrounding stations (note that their website has such a map, so integrating it into the software should be easy) and (2) if you don’t own a station, you can’t use the software. One should be able to have the software pull information from any station, even if you don’t own that station. I suspect they think this arrangement will sell more stations, but I think the opposite would help sell stations. If they allowed anyone to install the software and link to any station, they would encourage more people to buy the stations after they realize how cool the software is. A good piece of software with accompanying good hardware. Just a couple of minor issues.

Not very accurate
Update Aug 8: On Aug 6 I deleted the app and redownload it. I had to sign back into it. After doing so, the app detected the "heavy rain" we were getting along with the lightning. The rainfall showed nearly 4 inches on Aug 5 which sounde more in line with what I was observing. It seems to require the extra effort to delete, download and sign back in instead of just clicking the Update button. Aug 5, 2024: Its been pouring down rain, street flooding and made national news as we are experiencing Hurricane Debby weather conditions since yesterday. App says we received 2 inches today and 3 inches yesterday. Its 11pm. There is a good foot of water covering the road in front of our house and up into our driveway. As I am typing this it is pouring down buckets, thunder and lightning yet app is showing "none" (rain) with the last rain captured as being 27 min ago and lightning 3 hours ago. The Tempest online map shows hundreds of Tempest stations down our FL west coast and about 40 stations within 15 miles of us. I clicked on the UPDATE button for the app and that didn't help. I find it strange the app cant offer more accurate information about the amount of rain that is falling and has fallen since yesterday.

Best Comprehensive Weather Station Available
This brilliantly-designed, sturdy, compact, wireless weather station using sonic, haptic, and computer technology provides not only instantaneous but also historical data of all meteorological parameters. Particularly noteworthy is the Tempest’s comparative data access to multiple other local/regional Tempest stations coupled with experiential learning and AI to produce truly local (“micro”) and regional (“macro”) forecasting that always equals or beats the NWS. The personal Tempest webpage that comes with the station is accessible by cell phone or computer anywhere in the world with Internet as well as to multiple family members. Moreover, at an individual owner’s discretion the data can be shared with The Weather Underground’s network!! I live right on the North Atlantic coastline and have been fascinated by its ever-changing weather conditions, for decades using analog wireless instruments: namely Maximum’s Criterion Maestro Anemometer/Mini-Max Temperature together with a Chelsea Professional Shipstrike aneroid barometer augmented by internet data out of Pease International Airport’s tower. I find my new Tempest unit tracks all this data precisely, but gives far more meteorological information AND historical trending. Perhaps the most amazing aspect of the Weatherflow Tempest is just how easy it is to get it set up and running!!

Great hardware, some poor forecasts
The hardware is amazing, and in most respects the app is too. But there is a very consistent hourly temperature forecast glitch on days when the current temperature rises higher than the day’s overall forecast high. It happens with great regularity and is reproducible/predictable. If I had to guess, I’d say the hourly temperature forecast algorithm attempts to plot a smooth curve from the current temp to the forecast high, which the algorithm places an hour or so before sunset. Reasonable, but it breaks down if the current temp exceeds that high, which is happening more and more often these days for obvious reasons. When this condition occurs the app will stubbornly insist on plotting the curve back down from the current moment to that forecast high, pinned at that hour or so before sunset, absurdly suggesting that the temperature will drop from its current high, when common sense suggests that adjusting the forecast high is called for. This doesn’t seem like it would be a very hard problem to fix and other apps, like the Apple weather app, do it just fine. So fix that! But overall great app and highly recommended weather station.

Great Weather System
The Tempest is a great weather system. The hardware and app took about 5 minutes to set up. Once you have everything installed and online, you have instant up to the date weather data coming from the hardware. This data is integrated and processed through Weatherflow's AI to produce hyperlocal weather forcasts that are guarenteed to be more accurate than the publically available forecasts. The only issue that I have is of my own making. Do to siting limitations my wind readings are always low compared to other stations in the area. The app itself is great and all of the data is easily found and tracked. The app is simple and intuitive. It is very easy to locate the information that you need, and everything is logically layed out. There are even charts that allow you to see semi-historical data. The unit easily connects the Weather Underground and some great third party apps. The bottom line is if you like or need to know local weather data, the Tempest is a great solution which provides data through an intuitive interfact. I highly reccomend the Tempest.

Clever device but UI has accessibility issues
First, understand that Tempest Weather Station is a device for collecting local surface meteorological observations for use by Weather Flow. It does this reasonabley well. It is very good at thermodynamics properties measurement. It is less good at wind speed and rainfaill. WeatherFlow collects the data and provides it to weather services for use in model initialization. In return, it provides a local forecast for your location with more precise time of arrival information than that in NWS official area forecasts. This helps with planning outdoor activities. The Tempest Weather app lets you see the current conditions and forecast on the go. I'm post-cataract surgery but still have near focus deficits. I have trouble reading the percipitation probability values in the iPadOS version of the app. The iPhone version is more readable. The temperatures above them are easily read. WeatherFlow needs to review the UI for readability. If Gramms can't read it, it needs work. WeatherFlow offers a number of activity specific Apps for sailing, kite surfing, agricultural operations, etc that use the WeatherFlow refined local data and modeling. These are subscription services. They may not require a local weather station. These are an example of what WeatherFlow can do with its refined local data and modeling.

Great Weather Station, App Not So Much...
I love the Tempest weather station, but the point of the exercise here is to rate the app, not the weather station. I’ve had the station and the app for three months and, up to now, the two have worked flawlessly in tandem. Today however, the app decided that it would no longer open. The station is still online, because, if I go to the website, I can access it, but the app will not open. When I click on it, I will get the opening blue screen and the app will close. I’v restarted the hub, but again, the issue is not with the weather station itself. I uninstalled/reinstalled the app... Same problem. I tried it on another of my IOS devices... Same problem. I tried it on my wife’s IOS device... Same problem. Something has dramatically (and recently) gone wrong with the IOS app and no amount of fussing will help. EDIT: The app developers got back to me and there was a fix put in place that rectified the crashing-on-opening issue. App working just fine across all iOS devices.

Sandy Creek Airport
My old weather station had failed after nearly 15 years with intermittent component failures a constant irritant. I’d been looking for a replacement system, even though we’re not an official weather reporting site for NOAA, to produce local weather for our private aviation operations. We do have such a site about 12 miles from us, but conditions can vary given local topography. Tempest looked like a good fit. I bought the system and it has turned out to be a perfect fit! We can obtain weather instantly from such devices as our Alexa, from our phones and even from a linked view on our airport website. The families here now enjoy instant surface barometric pressure, wind reports, temperature, dew point and lightening/rain advisories. Most reassuring the official reporting station 12miles north is alomost always in agreement with our station except for local surface wind and always in agreement on baro pressure.

Paid $300 for the hardware, software is hidden
The hardware is $300 but when I open the app, there is no way to display that data. Instead, it shows you the general weather. If you click another button, you can EVENTUALLY get to the weather station that you just dropped $300 for, but there is no display upon opening the app. This could EASILY be fixed with a setting that says “ what would you like to display when opening the app: the weather or your weather station data” such a shame Update: App developer replied saying the weather shows is from my station. Clearly the person replying does not use the app. it is in fact, not from my station, but an aggregative data which it clearly says when you open. For example, how can my personal station “predict” weather for the next 10 days. That’s not possible. Get better product support people that have actually use the app! unfortunately, this review will go nowhere because the person receiving the interview is the problem and there’s no way to get in contact with the company itself.

Close to perfect
Love the hardware itself - not having to ever worry about battery life is wonderful. Agreed with others about the rain sensor’s inaccuracy, however it’s good enough for a ballpark number. Infrequent connectivity issues but still probably 99.9% uptime. Overall highly recommended vs other weather stations. I have tried the major competitors and this is my favorite. The app is fine, however I have a big gripe with the visualizations. I would love to see an auto scale/resize on the time series data. Just resize via pinch to zoom like with financial apps for example. I’m sure you can do better! Or is there an API and I can do it myself? All this data not being put to use within an app that is perfect for it! Everything else is great - it always works and the minimalist UI is fast and very readable. Thanks for keeping the updates coming!

Fantastic weather station
This is a fantastic weather station. The best one I’ve own! I would have given it a five star rating if it had one additional feature. More on that later. The unit was extremely simple to setup. It started sending data to the app as soon as the setup was complete. I had a thunderstorm the evening I received the unit. Lightning detection was accurate and timely. Rain onset, rate, and amount was accurate and notification was right on time. Highly recommend. Now what would it take for that 5th star? An Apple Watch app and complications. I rely on weather data on my Apple Watch more than my phone. I currently have complications from Carrot Weather on my watch but would love to have the data from the Tempest displayed. Any plans on creating an Apple Watch app? That would complete the system.

Tempest Weather System
Tempest absorbed Weather Flow who I bought my first two weather receivers from. I have had weather systems for years, most systems with several components. So Weather Flow technology was amazing, and compact. Now the Tempest is only one unit, and it does everything! The new solar panels pull in the energy to keep it all working. The information is always there at your finger tips. The forecasting gets better as the system learns your climate signature. The Tempest app gives you a history of your weather components, as well as immediate info. I’m very pleased! And I have used the technical support team, and they respond quickly and efficiently, and even check back to make sure everything is performing as it should!!! 5 STARS!!

Weather Done Smartly
As a retired old weather forecaster I am blown away by my new Weather Flow instrument and their supporting apps. Accurate, dependable, historical, and brilliantly designed. It measures wind, rainfall, and solar from the top of my roof, and temp, humidity, pressure, and lightning strikes from a separate unit under a north-facing eave. It is all networked with a wireless router device in my office. The unit on the roof is solar powered and the whole system has no moving parts! Support is timely and helpful. A couple of weeks ago our local internet provider went down for a few hours. I received email notification from Weather Flow asking if they could help because data had stopped flowing. I waited a number of years for a home weather station. I'm absolutely delighted with the Weather Flow!

Great weather station, app needs work
I really love this weather station, but the app is a bit frustrating to me… it is perfectly functional and stable, I just get frustrated trying to use the graphs because they have a “smoothing” function, drawing a smooth line between ~5-10 data points, rather than plotting all of the data. That might be acceptable for temp and pressure, but for wind speed, it’s awful. The average wind speed and wind gusts are completely different depending on your “zoom level” because it tries to smooth the graph based on a handful of data points. I wish they’d just used the graphing function from their other app, SailFlow, as those wind graphs are FAR more useful, user friendly, easy to understand, and representative of the actual behavior.

Nice device
This Tempest has a lot of promise. The only downside I see currently is that it doesn’t accurately pick up on the amount of lighter rains; otherwise, after three weeks I have found it to be quite accurate. I am sure some firmware modifications will address the rainfall shortcoming. UPDATE: This week we had a good rain. My Tempest started recording the lightest sprinkles which lasted for a couple of hours before the intensity increased. When the rains were over the next day, I compared the rainfall recorded by the Tempest (1.45 inches) to my standard gauge about 25 feet away (1.40 inches). I’m convinced the difference is the ability of the haptic sensors to pick up the lighter stuff that really doesn’t accumulate in a standard glass gauge. I take back my initial review.

Tempest Needs APRS Support DESPERATELY!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your product! As a licensed amateur radio operator, I am interested in being able to send WX updates via APRS (ideally via RF through the TNC in my TM-D710G but I wouldn’t be opposed to IP-based APRS updates either). If Tempest has some form of serial interface (Bluetooth maybe?) it would be a fairly trivial effort to incorporate what needs to be transmitted to the TNC. One of your biggest competitors (Davis Instruments) incorporated APRS in their WeatherLink for APRS. I’d be willing to bet you’d get a pretty hardcore group of ham radio followers that would jump on the Tempest bandwagon if you added APRS functionality to Tempest! Supposedly there’s a third party piece of software called Weather Display that people are using to make this happen with Tempest today but I’m still trying to track it down.

Wonderful app and device
Love them both!! I knocked one star off because it doesn’t have a radar map. Would be the perfect addition so I can ditch my other weather app completely!! Tempest - Please seriously consider adding the radar map and air quality reading to this app. Also, severe weather alerts (storms, hurricane, tornado, air quality, etc) are desperately needed! I love that your app shows it, but never alerts me to any warnings or watches. I would finally be able to ditch my other weather app if these were added. I wouldn’t pay a subscription, as I do use your weather station and love it!! I think this is an important addition(s) to your app. Besides that, it works great!

Feature requests - dark mode, etc
Great app so far, but a few additions would improve it further: Dark mode that honors the device setting to switch in time or stay dark. Setting to always start the app in the weather station device view, vs the forecast view. Always show “feels like” beside the temp on the station view. Currently starts out with dew point, then switches to fells like at some point. Many of us are most interested in “feels like”, and that is the primary reason I launch the app before going outside. If “feels like” is not yet calculated, show a “-“ vs dew pt, so we know it is still calculating. Calculate “feels like” better. My acurite station display seems to do a better job of taking temp, wind, humidity, etc into account. I took a screenshot last night that Tempest showed 43.2 degrees F, 38% humidity, 63 mph wind, and showed “feels like” 32 degrees... not even close! Allow settings to show larger primary info (temp, hum, wind, feels like) for permanent display on wall mounted old phone or tablet. I love the new wind display meter, bar graph style. Very effective display. Keep up the great work! Love the weather station!

They hit this one out of the park to the next time zone!!!
So many times reviews of new tech hardware/software say "easy to set up". And then the opposite is true unless you have an advanced degree in engineering or similar... Not so with the Tempest... WOW !! Setup was done in about 5 minutes flawlessy the first time... It took me more time to mount it on the house, where I wanted it then the set-up of the unit. And so far I could not be happier. It was transmitting data within minutes, and has now been through a couple of nasty storms etc., and running like clockwork. A big tip of the hat on the development of the Tempest. In many ways they underpromise and over deliver... Just an excellent product... Mic drop....

Northern Mexico Update
Yesterday here just north of Albuquerque, Northern Mexico we had rain, freezing rain, and snow accompanied by 45 mph winds. The Tempest was spot on wonderful for the winds. But NOT for the precipitation. My AccuRite station (and four other non-Tempest weather stations within 0.25 miles) all recorded between 0.46” and 0.52” of precipitation. My new Tempest recorded 0.22” of precipitation. That may have been correct for the liquid precipitation, but it completely missed everything else. I am very disappointed. Is there a “workaround” or “fix” in the recording/reporting software for the non-liquid types of precipitation???? The iPhone app is pretty decent once you learn all the tricks for expanding the particular area if interest (wind, precipitation, temp). I wish there was a weekly/monthly/annual ytd summary available. And the interface with WeatherUnderground is perfect - simple, accurate, continuous.

The Best Home Weather System
I’ve been using the Tempest Weather Station for about 6 weeks. It was a simple 5 minutes from switching the unit on until I was getting weather data on my devices. I really like the accuracy of the temperature, wind, rainfall, barometer changes. This is by far the absolutely best home weather station I have had on over 25 years of using different systems. Sharing the app for our location’s weather with family really makes me appreciate the accuracy and simplicity of this advanced system. Also have Tempest online with Weather Underground. WU rates my data input a “Gold” status. 100% recommend the Tempest Station and the App.

Functionally fantastic, one flaw.
The app is as good as I could have hoped for. Set up and use are extremely easy and clean. The only issue is the inability to schedule notifications or mute them for a select period of time. No need for 30 (very timely and accurate) lightning notifications at midnight as a storm rolls in. Would love to be able to force touch and mute a notification for a half hour OR select to mute notifications around bedtime. Another option would be to add a mileage range to notify within. Often get notifications as a storm rolls past us 20 miles away. All in all, fantastic work! Let’s tweak the notifications and we’d be a 5 star app.

Good hardware, disappointing app
Nice hardware, but i feel like the app is trying to hide the actual info from my personal weather station behind forecasts and things I’m not interested in seeing. The old version was preferable, where it was just my station’s readings, history, and graphs, but now that’s hidden away under the little icon at the top, and launching the app always starts me in things I have no interest in. These changes also impact the web links, but you can modify the URL for the old interface. Additionally, you can’t set the unit to Celsius and then share the web link to your station to your American neighbours as they can’t then view it in Fahrenheit, your personal preference is also what’s reflected on the web link, instead of allowing them to pick unit.

Pretty nice. Please allow dark mode and better 3rd party integration!
All in all, it’s pretty competent . Keep up the improvements. I would offer the following in no particular order: 1)PLEASE allow dark mode, or better yet, customizable displays. Since there’s no “base unit” as on competitors units (not knocking it, I actually prefer mobile), why not allow users to at least change color scheme, font size, and order of information? 2)Informative & nice graphing. Would be nice to be able print those graphs with scaling, however. (Without a screenshot). 3)Apparently Tempest sends data to its hub and app very frequently(3 sec), but WeatherFlow servers upload to 3rd parties (Weather Underground, etc.) somewhat less frequently (3-15 minutes based on observations). This often results in my PWS not appearing on WU Wundermap. Are there plans to change this or shall I purchase a third party Meteobridge (extra $160) to work around this shortcoming? Less expensive WX brands don’t seem to suffer from this.

Could anyone ask for more?
I am 34 days into my Tempest weather station and the Weatherflow developers have kept every promise. I would like to say I couldn’t ask for more but I haven’t seen the feature that is most important to me come online. The ability to adapt to my temperature conditions rather than copy the local weather forecast has yet to show itself. I live in a valley where my mornings are well below freezing and a half mile away my neighbors never have to protect their plants and animals from damage. I hope to see my system predict my conditions soon.

The Most Accurate Local Weather Yet
it took less than 20 minutes to go from the box to sharing my local weater on the internet and about that long to integrate my local weather date into my lawn sprinkler system, and Air conditioning system. The app makes it all easy and not only provides local weather but virtually block-by-block weather reporting almost anywhere in the country and around the world. If it says to expect rain in 15 minutes, it will rqin in 15 minutes.

Great System
So far I have been extremely pleased with the simplicity and accuracy of the Tempest system. It is extremely sensitive to changes in wind speed and direction. One advantage over conventional wind instrumentation is it continues to work during an ice storm which I just experienced. Also I got to see how the rain gauge would respond to freezing rain. It underestimated the freezing rain where for regular rainfall it can be up to 20% on the high side. In summary Tempest is extremely accurate with the exception of measuring rainfall and it could potentially be adjusted with a fudge factor.

Lots of Accurate Data
I’ve always been sort of a weather geek. When I heard about Tempest’s product, I decided it was time to get it and set it up as directed. There are benefits to more than current temps, wind speeds and future forecasts. This product gives you every bit of data you’d need. And it gives historical data to you in daily, weekly, monthly and total amounts. It also sends and receives data from the thousands that are operating worldwide. It’s such a great product, you’ll love it too.

No one else come close to this...
I have been super stoked with my new WeatherFlow Smart Weather Station... and particularly the lightening sensing and notifications. We live where storms can fire up rapidly coming of the mountains, and can have little warning of severe weather. We have kids out riding bikes and playing on the lake, and the lightening alerts give us timely heads-up on developing activity so we can make sure everyone is safe. I have seen the first strike from a developing storm 5 miles away, and have had the alert before I hear the thunder. Amazing!

Welcome Update
The previous version was functional and clean, but was getting old and stale. The new interface is a welcome update. Not a major change but the color scheme change is welcome. In particular the better selection of widgets now is a nice add. Would be nice to have more customization options (arrangement of data, breaking out of some things on multiple lines versus combining), and a map would be nice, but it’s good to see the app isn’t being ignored. The Tempest system is too cool to not be supported by a well thought out and evolving app.

Inaccurate Heavy Rain Measurement & Heat Index when Humidity < 40%
During a recent thunderstorms, it measured 1.04” total. The rain duration was 93 minutes and the rain varied between very light to extremely heavy. The actual amount in my manual gauge was 1.58”. However, what really bothers me is that it doesn’t calculate the heat index once the relative humidity falls below 40%. For instance, it is currently 102.4 F and 34% humidity & the Wet Bulb Global Temperature is 92.5 F (extremely dangerous). Yet they lost the heat index at 102.4, whereas it actually calculates to 110 F. Other than that the system was easy to set up and I like it.

The Real Deal
Very happy with my Tempest Weather Station. Set up was easy and once I decided where and how to mount it, it has been performing as advertised. The haptic rain sensor seems to be extremely accurate when compared to my old analog rain collection gauge. I would recommend this weather station to anyone who wants to geek out on weather...or simply keep track of exactly what’s going on at their location. It’s the Real Deal! The iPhone/iPad integration is great, too. Now, how about a widget/app for us Apple Watch users?

So much data, so underdeveloped a graphing interface.
The app has nice front end main pages, but if you want to dive into the data, it’s severely lacking. The graphing UI is clunky, slow, and barely seems to support multitouch. I have a $30 Govee sensor that presents temp and humidity data in a far better fashion in its app. Honestly, it seems like a pretty unrefined port from another platform. Some suggestions: Leverage the powerful multitouch UI capabilities of iOS to make data exploration more seamless (eg live horizontal / time and vertical / scale pinch to zoom). Allow custom graphs overlaying any number of data features at a time, or stacking graphs to show multiple features in time sync. Build data graphing / trends into the main pages. Just check out a Bloomberg terminal or news show to see some very effective and compact text and graphical hybrid data presentation. I look forward to what the developers can do with all the data they have to share from a very nice piece of hardware.

Good weather app, but…
This is a good weather app (and I have their weather station, which is excellent) but I do have a few suggestions. 1- as in many apps, the font of many of the fields is too light to read well. Simply making it a bolder font would make it MUCH better. 2- it has no weather radar view. It would be nice if it had a view like Dark Sky which is the best I’ve ever used. 3- it would be nice to have a rain rate field. It could be the average rate over a few seconds interval.

Best investment hands down
Need “local weather”? I’m not talking about a weather service app that retrieved the weather near you from several or more miles away. This app and the components fused together this Tempest weather station gets real “local weather” on your property for far more accurate up to the minute data and weather information than any outside area source. It’s very small footprint and sleek looks fit right into any home.

App needs dark mode
The app & web sites needs a dark mode!! In my cabin, I use an Apple iPad as a permanent, always on, wall mounted monitor for the Tempest. In my shop, I use a dedicated, always on, built Windows 10 PC with dual, wall mounted 21’ monitors (Tempest open in MS Edge browser in portrait mode on one monitor & My Radar Pro on 2nd monitor). The default UI for both is extremely, way to bright and needs to have a dark mode. It’s 2021, time to get in the game with a dark mode!! The actual weather station is fine but is never seen. The UI is what is seen and used. Dark mode please. Thank You

Great hardware but app needs tweaking
The Tempest weather station is great, but you desperately need to add the ability to set a perimeter for weather notifications. Living in Florida, I’m getting bombarded by lighting alerts for distances well further away than I care. I can’t even imagine how bad these are going to get when we get alerts for every storm within a 30 mile radius. I don’t want to turn off the alerts all together, but I will if there’s not an option to set a range.

Easy Setup
Setting the station up couldn't have been easier. Integration into our Rachio and to Wunderground was simple as well. If you're a weather nut, its a great device with little maintenance compared to weather stations with traditional sensors that have moving parts. Widgets in the iOS app are great too and love the notifications on my phone when rain starts or lightning is detected. Overall very satisfied with the tempest weather station.

Need App user manual
I love the weather station. The iOS apps are good, but I need some assistance and can’t find help for the apps. For example, when I choose Standard full screen mode in settings on my iPad, the display always reverts to Basic full screen mode. Also, when I select Always on in settings the display still times out. There are probably settings that I am overlooking, but I can’t find and app user instructions.

I have been a fan of Davis (still a great PWS) for many years and no one has come close to their level of quality, until the WeatherFlow Tempest was released. Awesome weather station
Hands down the best weather station I’ve owned. Very easy to use and to install and the app is easy to read and navigate through, but I do wish that in the history view that you would add a button so that all you have to do is select Today and it will take you to the current history and not have to filter through the months and days.

Great weather station & great service!
After about a year of reliable weather reporting , my Tempest weather station failed. It was replaced immediately and w/o question by the helpful folks at WeatherFlow. It occupies a prominent place on the home screens of my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. I use it every day and it requires no maintenance. It also feeds rain data to my Rachio lawn sprinkler controller for efficient, localized system control.

Forecasts are totally wrong
Overall I am disappointed by both the app and the sensor. There’s no AI in this app whatsoever, it has never learned anything about how badly wrong the forecasts are and never adjusted the forecasts. I don’t know where it gets them but they are extremely unreliable. There’s also a bug with switching between C and F for temperature. You have to restart the app. This bug has been there for practically three years. They don’t do much to improve the app, nothing ever gets fixed. I use it now as a cheap outdoor temperature sensor. It’s a shame because there’s so much potential here that will probably never be realized.

Nice App
Installation went smooth and found good info to help with locating the station. Found other features reading reviews. Thought the rain sensor was reading low, but noticed it seems to catch up to the yard rain gauge by the end of the day. Noticed in the fall season, that falling leaves hitting the sensor on a windy day will trigger a rain event and an alert when there is no rain. Station is 20 ft above the chimney cap so it is still in range of some leaves Will see what happens when it snows

Outstanding!
I’ve owned over a half dozen weather stations from various companies over the years. The Tempest station is by far the easiest to set up and it provides an incredible amount of information making it a superior station. The app is easy to setup and maintain providing quick access to your stations information. A great product with a great app.

Would Appreciate Getting the Functionality From The Weather Flow App Restored
Lowering the rating to one star due to the support staff in the app support forum deleting questions from long standing users as to why functionality was stripped from app the new app. The equipment is useless without the interface and the original purchasers and supporters of Weatherflow Smartweather purchased the product in good faith and trust. 5 panels or detailed information on the stellar original app are missing in the new app. Since the equipment is totally dependent on the app to view the data, I would appreciate the original panels be restored as they have been condensed into one summary panel without the detail The new home page on the new app is way to busy and icon laden and the weather forecast shown is not the reason for buying a weather observation station. Forecasts are available from many other apps and sources however our home weather data is not. It’s all about our station data.

Alexa Skill
I have weather stations at both of my properties to monitor conditions remotely. Despite the houses being smart and the stations functioning well, the WeatherFlow Skill does not show the Tempest card on the Alexa Show 15's home screen—it remains blank. This issue defeats the purpose of a visual display, making it tempting to switch to a competitor's app, which undermines the benefits of the Show. I hope this review prompts a swift fix from the developers, after which I would be glad to update my review positively.

Don’t waste your money
I owned several of these weather stations and this one was the most expensive. I like that the battery stays charged and no moving parts. The station is not accurate with rain fall and don’t get me started on wind speed, we have had 50 mph winds only to see 13 or 14 mph on the sensor. This station for what I paid is highly disappointing! I was looking for a more accurate one and still haven’t found one except the National weather service. Save your money and use the National Weather Bureau!

Rain forecast is better than my local stations
Back when Beryl was supposed to hit San Antonio the app was saying a small chance of rain and was right. A couple of weeks later we had a major flood warning but the app was saying small chance at my location. South side got a lot of rain but I did not. The smaller rain amounts are still a little iffy but it is the major events I am worried about.
