I live in Midlothian Texas and on multiple occasions TSC has been a Godsend. For some reason it just isn’t important that the local stations cover our area during significant storms. It all started one time when our tornado sirens were going off but no one was talking about it on the news. My daughter, myself and all our pets were in our safe place. I was texting friends to see if they had heard anything and one of them told me to get on TSCs site and from that point forward I always put them on during any weather issues because there was actually a tornado in our area. Thank you TSC.
I loved TSC before but now even more since they have the app! It seems that right about the time I’m thinking “What will the temp be tomorrow? What I should wear”, boom, a TSC notification comes through telling me what I need to know. I don’t ever even check my local TV station app anymore. Not only that, for work my husband travels in Oklahoma/Arkansas/Louisiana (in addition to Texas) and Texas Storm Chasers information about bad weather in those states has literally persuaded him to choose another week for his business travel. Keep up the great work, TSC!
Love the app, only one small issue that I have found
While the app is amazing overall, there is one detail that prevents me from giving a 5 star review. That issue involves notifications, specifically, the app badge. With every notification sent out, the number of notifications shown in the app badge increases. Regardless of the number of times I open the app, the app bad notification does not clear out, I am currently sitting at 27 reported notifications. There does not appear to be a way to mark these as “read”, thus, I have a perpetually increasing number of unread notifications. *EDIT* Edit to add a second issue of significance, this time, with the radar. While on my iPad Pro, the radar does not utilize the entire screen, it uses about a quarter of the screen.
This is my go-to app for weather living in central Texas. I love all the options.. the severe weather outlooks, alerts that actually show up (the weather channel app is useless for this), and the day by day and hourly forecasts. Having more than one radar choice is so useful, and it’s made predicting whatever is heading my way so much easier. Thank you to the team that created and maintains this app. It’s a genuine lifesaver.
Everytime I go on this app it's detailed, accurate, and provides more information than a certain leading brand weather app. The radar is more detailed than any other apps I've used. I do however find it hilarious when something goes in front of the radar and makes a cone. Love this app, the people behind it deserve as much recognition and praise as possible.
Thanks for all the hard work y’all put in providing fast but reliable WX coverage. Never overhyped reports but calm and precise. Anyone using the app, just get the paid version and don’t complain about the ads. This team deserves all the funds they can receive for the level of work they provide 24/7. (This is a hint to make ad free with paid subscription a reality)
The update to the interface is great. New colors and forecasts. However this apps “zoom” radar and the way it showed weather warning and watches along with direction of the stronger cells was the reason I used this app (Tornado Alley) My only request would be to move the path for the zoom map closer to the front and not at the end of the menu, otherwise - awesome job. When a weather app assists in the safety of my family, this is the one!
I had downloaded the app just before Harvey came through, and with use of this app was able to help evacuees safely navigate their routes to shelter. This app and Waze saved people's lived as far as I'm concerned. I am so grateful for all the updates, and imagery. Keeping things current made all the difference during these last dorms and I keep recommending this app to friends and family and our guests from the Gulf.
I love this app because I can often get weather in my area when local stations can’t keep up because I’m in a rural pocket. The app has a great user experience and easy to read colors to show me where the weather is. Notifications are easy and helpful and make the app convenient when I need it most.
The app is very helpful and accurate. I would give it 5 stars if I could get rid of advertising. It causes the app to bog down and sometimes freeze. This creates problems with the map loading properly. When it freezes I have to restart my phone. In the future... It might be nice to have an alarm to wake me up when severe storms are about to hit.
I’m so glad to have very fast weather updates, it’s especially nice when we’re having some less than desirable weather! I can prepare for whatever is headed my way and I enjoy these people who give us such great information. Thank you all for doing an amazing job for us Texans!
This app compiles a lot of weather data to push out to its Storm Chasers. It’s not a bunch of “people” doing guess work. These are great weather pictures putting out excellent knowledge. You often find some of the wording and translations of the the pictures used on your the pictures on the forecasts used on pre
TSC has really helped with my storm phobia. I have severe panic attacks everytime it’s storming to the post i have a meltdown. i’ve been watch them for a while, and i can see the improvement in myself. i’m learning instead of fearing. thank you so much baldy in chief , i truly hope you know how much i appreciate you. ❤️
I downloaded the app and instead of the weather I “subscribed” to at least 80 unwanted newsletters, pushed notification sites, and other completely useless crap sites that I do not want and would NEVER even look at. Never download anything from these folks or this site.
Love the break down of what is happening in each storm cell. Amazing to see not only which town is in the storms path but you can pinpoint travel by street name(s). Real time storm chasers video puts us in the vehicle. Appreciate what you do!!
This app is awesome!!! I'm obsessed with thunderstorms and would love to be a storm chaser but, only as a hobby right now. They have a LIVE stream of storm chases, plus... You can find out all about the watches and warnings in your area since they update the info so often!!! EXCELLENT app. Love it so much. 👏🏼😊🌪
I live in a rural city located in “no man’s country”. The major news doesn’t have any information on our area. Texas Storm Chasers is an answered prayer for locations like ours! Up to the MINUTE reports for our safety and peace of mind!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Love that I can pinpoint my house on your radar! That you have the arrows showing which way they are moving, and your future radar is so much more accurate than all the rest!
She is rude and offense was taken by many.. Texas Storm chasers does not have Haboob’s in Texas. Just saying if it’s her Web group, a lot of us may not want to continue to follow your group . Thank you for your consideration. Vickie Ward Trinity, Tx.
Original review of mine stated the app did not work. For whatever reason, after about an hour I opened up the app and it’s working. I expect I’ll be reading a lot of good info soon!
Who needs an alert every time there is weather somewhere in Texas. App has some good features, but overall it gets annoying. Too bad, doesn’t seem like anyone has put together a great weather app. Some good ones, but nothing great. TSC is pretty middle of the pack. Wish them luck. Hope they keep working at it.
This app has many great weather features and info. It is one of the better weather apps. I paid the subscription to have the ads removed and they are still there. This the 2 stars. Once they can figure this out I will change my rating to 5 stars. Gary S
I first in stalled this app a few weeks ago and it appeared to work like a champ. I decided to pay for the subscription to keep from getting ads. Shortly after, I started getting Page 404 errors. I reported it to the developer on two different occasions and received no response. Now the app is showing ads again. I’ve requested a full refund due to the app issues.
Amazing app, accurate weather forecasts. My only issue is the hourly forecast , it’s small and can’t be enlarged making it difficult to make out the writing at the bottom of the hourly squares. Any chance of addressing this?
Great app. Wish there was an update to get rid of some of the lag. Maps great a lot of info. System lags when trying to click around and see what the different symbols mean.
Really like Texas Storm Chasers, but the layout with ads all over the place makes it very user unfriendly and visually pitiful. You guys need a complete revamp on your app. Not a post to ads, just learning how to set your page up to where they don’t interfere with your app. App data should be the primary content on the page and advertisements should be non-intrusive and small scale.
I’d love to pay you 10 bucks a month. There’s no place to subscribe in your app. ———— I’m removing the app. I’d happily pay for no ads but can’t find a way to do that. Love you guys but really, the app is unpleasant.
Absolutely love this group of professionals. I’m a new member still learning. Two days after I joined I fell and broke both ankles so I’m behind on the learning curve. Out of hospital today and ready to chase again. Safety first!🙏
I live in Lubbock, but when I click on the radar it defaults to Atlanta Georgia and I have to drag the radar to West Texas. Is there a geo location button I’m not seeing on the radar screen? Also, most days the radar will not load, even on Wi-Fi.
I have 7 weather apps. This is the 1st one I I look at when there is a risk of severe weather. These folks really know how to break it down so that I can understand what may, or may not, be a threat in my area!
This app lets you know Exactly where the storms are. I can tell you that when the tornados were hitting Eustace and Canton there was No Doubt about their pin point locations - Great Coverage! Bless y'all for your dedication.
Used to be clumsy but useful. Now it’s just another radar app
Before the recent update the app was able to show clouds, rain, temperature, wind direction, spinners and hail on a single app, which made the app to stand out. Now it’s just another radar app on the market. You get the same data with the built in Weather app.
This is a great app and they are always updating need to know information. We're sitting in the middle of a hurricane and am thankful for apps like this one, and those who run it. Their FB/Twitter feed is also top notch.
My app isn’t working totally. Sections are showing ? Instead of information. I deleted then added it again and still the same problem. Otherwise I love this app.
Just like the title says. I allow push notifications, so when there is a severe storm near... I always know whats going on. They update regularly and are reliable.
Thanks for keeping us informed and updated, B I C and staff members!! Appreciate all you do for us Texans💕 Love the humorous quips during the blogs! May Almighty God bless ya’ll and keep you safe!
There are so many ads that it’s impossible to find the information you’re looking for without hitting an ad. i would gladly pay for the app but instead i’ll delete it and find the info on facebook. This team is good! They provide a valuable service. Too bad the ads can’t be turned off.
I cant scroll the page without an ad taking me to a web browser. I get ads but to place them in a manner i cant read your app is just annoying. Makes your app near unusable
I’ve followed Texas Storm Chasers for quite a while. This new paywall that they’ve put up is ridiculous. They don’t provide any special service. If you need a good Radar App, RadarScope is worth looking at. For weather I like Fox4’s weather app. There are numerous meteorologists that you can follow for free on Facebook.
If your in Texas, this app compliments your normal weather app. Detailed information regarding Texas weather conditions. You can count on the information they provide. This app is very useful.
In severe weather speed with accuracy saves lives and puts this site at the top of my list. If you live in Texas or just love weather you want this resource. 🌪
