This browser used to be good but lately all it does is crash. Open a page in onion crash, open a forum crash, open a webpage on clearnet crash. All it does is crash and after crashing once it starts a crash loop where you do ANYTHING and it crashes. What good is anonymous browsing if you can’t even load a page without it crashing? Fix it please.
When used with VPN (and the VPN is based in an appropriate country) this could be a good solution for Internet access. But some secure sites may not work through it (e.g., U.S. banks etc.). Quick wish list for iOS: - ability to set this browser as default in iOS (which may be a limitation of iOS), or at least be prompted which browser to use to open a website/URL (maybe this could be implemented as a content management extension to Safari on iOS [it slows multiple such extensions at the same time]?) - screen shortcut enable/disable active content for individual websites/tabs instead of only on the level of the entire browser - allow/disallow site cookies for individual websites/tabs and auto-delete cookies of individual websites after the tab closed. - add websites to the rules and edit a rule right from the tab with an open website
Y’all need to know how to use tor correctly to factually vanish your fingerprint to snooping eyes before connection to any darkweb site. If you think a mere connection to tor does so, you are leaving traces that connect back to you. Get a vpn (privately owned is most certainly best as you know what happens to the logs and other data left behind when they are yours). However Zuckerberg is proving that there is mountains more data that IS stored and sometimes sold to third parties without your knowledge or consent. Don’t be caught thinking you are secure just because you have this app that connects to Tor, without a further means of encryption AND complete assurance your data isn’t collected this app is worthless to secure your browsing. Quit being misled.
Other reviewer is correct! DO NOT access Dark/Deep Web with this app only! Yes, you can use this app, but make sure you add a VPN! Look up on YT- congress calling out Google on smartphones, and American Citizens privacy! Even when your phones are off! Have you ever talked about something to later have an Ad pop up of that very item you were discussing? Same here! DON’T DO IT! If you can’t pay the small fee for a simple VPN, you won’t be able to pay the HUGE •Fee• that might come your way for being reckless & Not intending to. Be smart! Stay safe & VPN!
Please cancel my subscription because I thought it would be a one time thing and then I would be covered for at least a year and that was not the case. I didn’t like the app so I deleted it. It wasn’t good at all. It’s a waste of time and money! I shouldn’t have to pay for something that I’m not going to use. It’s the worst app I’ve had ever downloaded and I wish I hadn’t!!!! The CAPTCHA doesn't work. The site treats me like a robot and asks for constant verification. When I click the CAPTCHA it just loads continuously and doesn't verify me. If this were fixed everything would be great
Works just like the tor browser on Linux distros, Windows etc. also comes with some security options that are not found on the desktop version or tor Note to some reviewers of this product: I do not know the glich with iOS 12 as I run iOS 11, but your issue with the chapcha not loading Is because tor blocks chapchas because they can be used to track you on the internet, look for alternative websites that contain no chapchas or you can tap the settings of tor and allow all active content, but this compromises your security.
I have tried a lot of applications to run TOR in my mobile and none of them worked,but this one works really good.5/5 because it didn’t made any difficulty to open hidden wiki you can use it if you want too
I rated this app 5-stars even thought I've been experiencing periodic "time-outs", is a small price to pay when it comes to such a functional and secure VPN app! With that said, the fact that this app is FREE and doesn't have any ads, it deserves 5 STARS! Keep up the great work!
I open the TOR browser and guess what I see.... a Facebook ad at the bottom. Really.... a freaking Facebook ad.... one of the most non-privacy concerned companies on the planet! This is in my TOR browser taking up valuable real estate and being stupid Facebook makes it 10x worse. I am not sure how these ads are being delivered, but sure doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about privacy!
Some other ones in the App Store appear to be free but then the second you download them...then they ask for money. Tor has always worked on a donation basis. Don’t get suckered.
It's free, doesn't bug you with annoying ads, works great and is very easy to use. Multitab allows opening multiple sites and I really like that the whole screen is dedicated to the content for better browsing. The first time I launched it, it took about 20s to initialize but since then it works smoothly. As with any Tor browser, from one session to another speed varies depending on the various links in the chain.
The app used to work and was wonderful (hence why I gave it 4 stars) but now all it does is crash/turns into a pure black screen while its first loading with that loading bar % when you first open it.
Seems to work like a Tor browser. Lets you change IP address on the fly. Plus it has that jagged page load that real tor seems to exhibit. Its the best I've found so far.
This used to be the only good, free tor browser for iOS. Now it isn’t free. I understand that the developer needs to make money, and they deserve to. It’s just a shame they have to go against the spirit of TOR to do so.
It's amazing its far more simple and better then Red Onion browser and it has such a simplistic design that looks amazing on my homes teen! I would highly recommend this.
I used this browser a lot and after the October 5 update, I can no longer play videos or use interactive content (and yes, i have "allow all interactive content" enabled). Used to be a good browser, but this new update trashed it. Looks like i'll have to use another Tor browser that can actually play videos.
When searching for the first time on a connection (even one having taken 10 minutes to finalise) clicking any link crashes the app and forces a re-handshake and load. This then happens randomly throughout your session. No idea how secure it is.
the app doesn't collect any data while using it but if you want VPN correctly configured to work with Tor then you are stuck with the one preconfigured choice (stark vpn i think) which does in fact collect a bunch of your data. DOH!!! try again...
So many holes and not nearly as secure as it’s leading on. They force you to revisit the purchase screen for premium EVEN AFTER YOU PAID FOR PREMIUM And that’s not even the worst part! They Shanghai you into paying for the full month subscription never once letting you know there’s a weekly option for $4.99 a week
I downloaded this app to rest another app on a separate phone and it had me subscribe to use it. It willl not be useful for what I need, I literally unsubscribed less than an hour after being charged and there is no refund or any clear way to reach customer support.
Used to work, but even then somewhat inconsistently. New version (June 2020) prompts you to upgrade to paid “Premium” version, then crashes when you decline and proceed to non-premium (non functional) version. Reviewed on iPhone 8 Plus iOS 13.3
This app used to be great. Got around web filters well, which was all I needed it for. They started charging for all the features that used to be free, however. I can’t accept that this app which used to be great and free is now $5/week. Good god what a rip off. Just download one of the actual free Tor browsers.
They stole my money. They said it was a free trial then proceeded to rob 30 dollars from my account. After immediately canceling it they charged another 2 dollars for canceling it. This is misleading and if you try to start the free trial to try it out they will steal your money. Watch out💀
After last upd it stopped work well. Even duckgo doesn't work, no search result. Sometimes I can't press anything on the site. Used to be the best for browser, but now it is completely destroyed by upd. I believe u can fix it, thx (iPhone 7+)
This is not the secure real Tor browser built and maintained by the USN, rather a knockoff. Be leery of any private info entered while searching as you are not surfing anon. I know this could be a false review, do a quick DuckDuckGo search of TOP browser for iOS. The GUI reminds one of spam phishing emails resembling legit websites. Be careful out there.
Upon loading app. There’s a button that says start trial. If you click it, it will immediately charge you 30 dollars. And there’s no trial Can’t get refund AND just got charged 300 by them for canceling. DO NOT DOWNLOAD
This used to work but after the update I can’t do anything nothing works I can search anything at all I loved this browser but now nothing seems to work
Connected to tor for about two minutes until it lost connection, now it won’t connect no matter how many times I try. That’s getting a new identity and restarting the app twice.
As title states, my entire experience with this app is that it crashes on launch on my iPhone X running iOS 11.1.1. As such, I've been unable to try it out. It would be nice to get that fixed sometime.
This app tricks you into thinking it’s offering you a free trial. It then charges you $30. None of the onion sites load, but load with another onion browser I’m using. What a scam and a rip off. I will be calling my bank to dispute it.
