1. The search feature is practically useless. I should be able to type in the model number and receive a list of matching brands, types and models with just the model number. Should multiple types or brands share a model number I can then choose which is appropriate for my needs. 2. The unofficial database needs to be cleaned of (null) blank uploads. Some searches return 100s of these. 3. My lightning blaster sent me to download this yet the pictures of blasters didn’t really match the one I purchased. Found one that did work properly. 4. It’d be great if old long discontinued remotes could be added similar to how the Harmony remotes do for the older the device the best you can bet the remote is lost if it even works. (i.e. pioneer laserdisc, DAT recorders, BetaMax Players, Yamaha subwoofers, et al). This would really up the ante as it seems most codes for any of these apps are quite slim.
Does what it says it does for all our remotes. But it will NOT rotate the Screen on the new iPhone 14 or 14 pro with the Dynamic Island. So when you use the remote with the IR pointed toward the TV the screens are backwards. Used to work with on the old iPhones notch. Frustrating as the new iPhones are been out since September - October
This app is complete crap. Does not support diy. Does not rotate on iPhone. Completely confusing setup to try to get it to control devices and it ultimately doesnt work. You can't customize for specialized buttons once you do get it connected to a device. It won't let you download device settings without watching an ad video for each device once you figure out which is the right setting. This is really really really dumb. Do not buy this device. The app makes it worthless.
My remote stopped working and I’m writing this while the corona virus is going around, I just wanted a remote that worked. I downloaded this app and I was about to press the agree button to the terms and I notice they want me to pay. One half of me was saying just get it, but it is pretty expensive and it doesn’t even tell you the price into you pay for it. I hope this review will stop someone from buying this app unless you mind paying the price.🐴
I don’t know why every other review I’m seeing sayings it’s basically trash but trust me when I say this it does exactly what you want it to do all you need is the IR connector and you’re set
My friend has this device and he has an iPhone 12 and it works completely fine. However, with the new Dynamic Island you can’t flip your iPhone screen upside down. You need to flip your screen around to use this device so if someone can help with this problem DM: getsfxbwuwf On instagram if you can help, Don’t buy this if you have an iPhone 14 or 15 or 16
Software will not allow the creation of a remote without sitting through an annoying unbearable video. It refers to this remote completion stage as the "reward" for watching the video. And then if you don't create an account, you have to do it all over again as none of the remotes are saved. The app for other OSes works normally without these hoops so skip this product for iOS. Horrible implementation.
I use this app mainly on my iPad with the joyroom with a lightning connection. However, every time I plug it in, the sound of the iPad speaker or headphones it will not work. I have to unplugged the joyroom for the sound to start working again!!! Please fix this bug please!!!
This app is garbage. Purchased hardware, directed me to this. Forces registration and ad viewing to operate. DIY learning function doesn’t work. Crappy all around experience.
the app is impossible to use when the phone is in dark mode, because the text changes to white but the light grey background does not. pretty poor planning.
Could you guys please add support for the Sumec TV brand and the ability to utilize the infrared sensors on an Xbox one? Hoping to update this once i can use it
Easily one of the most poorly designed apps I've seen on iPhone. When you plug in your IR Emitter to your phone's Lighting port, a screen pops up to ask what you've connected. The choices include a credit card reader, a pair of earphones, and three other icons, none of which look like the IR Emitter. Icons only, with no labels on them. If you guess right here, then you're prompted to add a device. I selected TV and it showed an alphabetical.list of manufacturers. I selected "TCL" and the screen that followed wanted me to press a "power" button and then hit "usefull" (sic) if it worked and "useless" if not. None of this was explained, by the way. At ty he topit said 1/42, suggesting there were 42 possiblites. Let's call this a code group and each possible selection a code. I stepped through them all, and when #42 failed, the top line now said 1/30. That lead to 1/8 then 1/30, then 1/29. I don't know if there were more code groups after that. That's a total of 139 codes. Why not say 1/139 instead of a bunch of different size groups? The TV turned off when I was at 15/29 or so, but I didn't notice until I had hit "Useless", so I hit the "Back" link at the top of the screen, but instead of stepping back through the numbers, it took me all the way back to the beginning. 20+ minutes wasted. Well, 40+ because it did the same thing on my second attempt. To paraphrase Steve Jobs, this is insanely stupid. I know the IR Emitter is working, but so far this has been a waste of time and money because I can't get the stupid app to work.
Abysmal - No DIY Learning Mode For Lightning Devices
I bought this device on Amazon and downloaded the app. Screwed around with it for 30 minutes. Thought the reviews were crazy to say there are 5 minute ads, but sure enough! Then found a note in the quick start guide of this thing that said lightning DIY/learning-mode is temporarily not supported. In my mind that’s a HUGE flaw! Especially when the “global database” of codes “supporting over 90% all appliances” is such utter crap. I couldn’t find my model of tv after much grief - finally found a different Vizio 50 inch code and the power button didn’t even work. It could only adjust the volume. Completely stupid. How on earth did they manage to game the Apple review system to show such high ratings? It has to be gamed. I don’t understand how they can make you buy an IR device and then force ads on you in the app! If these companies selling the devices want any credibility at all, they need to build their own quality app without ads. Also I don’t give a crap about the “global database” of codes when it’s useless. I just need DIY learning via lightning. I’m about to just return this crap. To the developers: I’m not unreasonable. I will be happy to change my review to something more favorable (potentially 5 stars) if you just fix these glaring issues. Maybe if you can detect the model of the IR device and know it’s one that you or your partners produce/sell, then you can disable the ads for your paid users? If I pay - I NEVER want to see any ads. Period. Bottom line though, is that I MUST have the DIY learning mode over lightning or this is a no go.
