The UI app is very user friendly … up to date and requires very little effort to use ! Certainly beats putting the bill in the mail and all past transactions can readily been seen . Also when payment is made through the App. Response on it being received is immediate with a confirmation #! No figuring out how many days ahead to mail the bill so it will arrive ! Very convenient ! Can check on payments or make payments anytime !
After being talked into going paperless, with this "App", while moving twice now during the pandemic, I have been completely locked out! I have been a UI customer for over 30 years, never missed a payment. By the time something connected in cyberspace, my bill was $2700 for 6 months. Spent another 4 months, on a payment arrangement to be locked out again and moving. Errors of multiple accounts, different user names, this email address is already registered, passwords across my IOS devices have NOT changed. Bounces right back to "try again later" or as in right now a 24hr account lock out , miss another payment date or pay with a fee. When calling to explain this to the UI, all I get is the app has nothing to do with us, sorry and they speak to me as if calling to NOT pay a bill. It has made an already stressful time more stressful, spending way to much time installing reinstalling, on hold , emailing the developers, resetting passwords. I lived through a pandemic with zero help from CT. I can live in the dark. Scammers with billions in federal funding, never again. 4 kids with devices and 10+ years later I am writing my first review. Good freakin Luck
There are a couple things I would change about the app. 1. Add a are you ready to send me your payment button before you actually submit your payment so you can make any changes. 2. If you do have to cancel it because you submitted it wrong, it takes three days or longer to fix it before you can make a new payment
I have never been late on a bill and actually always pay early. The last bill I paid for my old residence was paid and then my service transferred to a new residence. I paid the month but it switch over to the new account. As a result I lost access to any outstanding bills (which to my knowledge I thought had all been completed but to my surprise there was one more but that was not communicated to me in any way) and instead of being forwarded it to allow me to pay on time it only happened when it was late causing me to pay after for the first time ever. Highly frustrating!
The UI app is a bill paying lifesaver. Ever since I switched from paper bills, keeping track of my payments, bills, account balances etc… has been a piece of cake. It’s super easy to navigate, along with offering auto pay, outage alert notifications, your account balance and more. Stop wasting paper, download the app and make your life a little bit easier.
Finally a app that works well with IOS , I’m so happy to use this app, it’s easy to use and gives full access to account and products available. I live in an area that unfortunately outages happen frequently the app makes it super easy to see outage updates and report no need ti call! Love it !
There are no electronic options to pay your bill. I have an iPhone 12 Pro. The app crashes repeatedly. It worked 3 times then it started crashing. I tried deleting and downloading again no luck. Then I go to the website and go to billing and it always says my session is expired and to log back in. I tried doing the EZ pay option but it charges $4 to use and if you call on the phone they charge you. It’s not that it’s a lot of $$ but it’s the principal all other options (website/app) should work. I clear my cookies etc and nothing happens. Terrible app with an equally terrible website.
This is the easiest app I think I’ve ever used. There’s no confusion, and not 100 buttons you have to click on just to get where you need to go whether it’s paying ur bill or looking for the acct.# SO SO easy. I come on to pay my bill and I’m literally on the app for less then 30 seconds (if that)and I’m done
Worse app I’ve ever used. Wasn’t being sent bill so I paid fee couple months, then felt forced to sign up for ebill to avoid fee. Okay for 1 month. Last month kept logging me out immediately so I couldn’t pay bill. Mailed payment! Now will not accept my password & when I say I forgot it will not accept answer to security question (City born in-I know the answer but they say I’m wrong & keep getting locked out). Fortunately, am on budget so know what I owe & will have to mail again! Last month took myself off ebill, but am still not receiving bill through mail!
The app is convenient and easy to get into. Ever since I started using it, it has made payments easier for me since I don’t have to go crazy looking for a pen to write down my confirmation number and the confirmation gets sent directly to my email. lol get the app, make your life easier.
I’m just wondering when the bill pay option is going to be fixed. What is the point of this app if I can pay my bill. I don’t want to just view my bill. I want to be able to pay my bill. Every time try to pay my bill by card I get an error telling me to close my browser and try again. Please fix your app because this is a big inconvenience. I don’t have a problem with the gas app and they both look the same.
But should have some sort of way of giving you the option or show an option to pay the past due balance if you are a day or two past due and not the full amount including the current months bill
I just got shut off. Then disconnected from a call before I could make my payment. So I paid using the app thinking I’d have to call again to give them my confirmation #. When I hit PAY, the lights came on as if they were connected. Awesome! Now let’s get those bills lowered please!
Definitely recommend using the app over any other way of payment. I set the date and it gets paid with no worry. I love that I can see any bill from any month and no more extra fees for paying by phone. And who uses checks anymore?? The app is the best option!
I have an iPhone and due to my browser (safari) and their high fire walls it’s very hard to pay and view my bills.. but with this app I can pay and view my bills it’s so easy and convenient. Everyone that had United Illuminating comps (UI) should try it… it works great I’m extremely happy..
Great app, I use it all the time to pay my bill and it’s probably the easiest, “Bill paying app,” out of all I have. Very rarely when I go check to see if the bill updated, it’ll tell me it can’t load into the screen but It’s not often at all.
UI all is easy to use, the only thing we don’t like is when you make a partial payment, your total due doesn’t update. It should update each time a payment is due so you know what you have left to pay on a payment arrangement
Easy and convenient way to pay your bill. Login is automatic ( according to your phone or electronic of choice ) you can keep your bank account details. So literally one two three and you’ve paid your bill ☺️
Using the app to manage my account was a lot easier than using the website. I always ran into loading errors and found it to be difficult most of the time.
The UI app is very easy to use, especially with regard to making payments and managing payment methods. The person responsible for this should receive a commendation, a medal, a parade, a key to the city, and should be revered by his/ her contemporaries as the most brilliant mind of his/her time. Also, a statue should be erected in their honor
The app is fine, but I use it once a month to pay my bill and would just as soon use the website if it ever worked. But the moment you tap “pay my bill” it gives a session expired error every time. So here I am wasting my phone’s storage on an app I shouldn’t need, because at least UI’s mobile app team managed to make a working login system.
The app just doesn’t open on my phone (using iphone 13). I click on it, and it closes doesn’t even open. Also their website is just the absolute worst too. I have not found a single option that works anywhere. Pay a bill? No, website doesn’t work so I have to call. Download a PDF of my bill? No, website doesn’t work so I don’t even get a bill. Literally click on any part of their website, the tools, nothing. None of UI’s things work.
Not sure what’s going on with the app but as soon as I open it kicks me off I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling still the same problem it’s a pretty cool app versus having to go online on the computer to pay the bill but it doesn’t work please fix.
The UI provides an easy way to pay your bill check outages, and manage your account. The facial recognition sign is easier than the traditional password sign in. However periodically it does not recognize me, which does delay my payment. Also, my password does not work all the tim
During Covid, it has been the toughest time of my life and even past that UI has always literally been there. There is literally no one else I would recommend. Again, thank you UI.

Love this app but was very disappointed when I couldn’t pay my bills in Europe. I couldn’t access the app and the webpage in Europe. Not through the phone and not through the computer either which resulted being late with payment.
This app is very convenient and easy to handle. I recommend this app for everyone the you g and old. Once you set it up you are all set to pay you bill, you can check power outages, make arrangements to move. It is simply the best.

This app is a snap! With facial recognition, I am able to pay my electric bill without looking up my login info and password. Paying is quick and easy!
The app works once per download and manual log in….I downloaded the app, input all of my info, paid a bill and logged out. Subsequent attempts to login, the app crashes repeatedly. So I deleted the app, downloaded again, entered my account info, works fine….until I log in again: back to crashville. Two stars because it is a decent app when it works.
It would be better.. if I can make a card payment on the app( not using my debit account). I wanted to pay my bill twice with my CC and it takes me somewhere else and I was never able to start.
Public utilities like UI have no incentives to operate in good faith as it pertains to their customers. Meanwhile they are allowed to profit as if they were any other public company. This app is straight garbage. As a programmer, I find the lack of effort put into their customer facing tools and applications to be a prime example of how America fails its citizens by allowing utilities to operate as they presently do. Rise up and demand that utilities like UI and their greedy executives be held accountable!
Running on iPhone 13 pro max. Please stay on top of your development team and app updates to ensure this problem does not continue. You are a utility company and I’m sure you want your customers to be happy and get paid. And if this application in store is managed my a contractor or 3rd party software provider. Then you need to either spend more money or stay on top of updates for the app.
Haven’t had any issues so far. I’m grateful for this app seeing as I’m on the go a lot.. this helps to send payments through quickly and efficiently. Hope this only gets better.
