I really want to love this app because it could be more convenient than using the website. However, there are some basic issues that hinder my workflow. I’m a premium user and it’s often not worth the hassle to use the app. 1. There’s no way to get notifications through the app. I’ve gotten messages and was never notified via the app even when I had my settings to receive push notifications. Also for whatever reason the time on the messages is wrong by hours so I never really know when a message was sent unless I check my email or the website. 2. You’re not able to view attachments in the app. Some clients post an attachment for the audition script but if you’re using the app there’s no option to view (only download) which makes it more difficult to quickly respond to auditions. Overall the app only has one use for me. When I’m recording, I use it as a second screen. You can’t upload files, edit your account, or any of the basic things you’d expect from an app in 2023. Hopefully, there can be improvements soon.
The account tab is such a waste of app space. You can't even view your own profile or edit any of your info anymore. All of that has to be done via browser or computer now, which makes the app pretty user-unfriendly (unless I am just extremely dense and haven't found a way to do it). Devs, please bring back the ability to edit profiles, or let me know what I'm doing wrong. The other problem I'm noticing is that it keeps crashing if I log in and switch to other open apps. It just goes to a white screen and then logs me out after I force quit. Otherwise, the rest of the app is layed out fine.
It’s convenient to have the app to read specs of audition’s (when it does populate) but that’s about it. I have to click on hiring multiple times because it tells me no jobs until I hit it a few times. The saved section doesn’t update no matter how many times I hit it even when it shows the saved projects on my laptop. It always shows I have a new message when I don’t. When I did get a message it didn’t show on the app till I looked and saw it on my laptop. Also, it use to let me hear responses to projects I’ve submitted to, but now it won’t. I have to get on my laptop. It’s really disappointing that it doesn’t work better. Apps are supposed to make things more convenient but these glitches make it an unreliable source when looking for opportunities for work.
The app itself is pretty good, very user friendly and easy to use and navigate. But if you’re not willing to pay for premium, you can’t even apply to any of the gigs. Which is a shame, because it seems like fun. Just don’t think it’s fair that I have to pay them to make money. But I guess they have to get their cut too. Meh, could be better if you could actually do stuff as a non-premium member. Even if it’s just the lower paying gigs.
This app is important for me to keep track of auditions and jobs throughout the day. However there are some issues that make using the app a slog. -Anytime I close the app I have to sign back in. Why can’t the app remember my phone and keep me signed in long term? -The message button has a blue dot on it permanently. I don’t have any messages unread and yet the dot has been there for a long time. -I come across app breaking bugs fairly frequently. These bugs although periodic throw me out of the app or lock everything down. -The lag is real. Even when I have good internet it takes too long to load pages. In short, download this app for its usefulness but grit your teeth when using it.
Was so excited to finally have a new app given the problems with the old Voices App. The update is somehow worse than the old app. Trying to scroll down through jobs immediately activated the swipe command on whatever job you may have touched. Can no longer see your shortlisted jobs or favorites or anything. Desperately needs a better sorting option. It’s just a huge mess and I’m utterly disappointed. I’ll continue to use the desktop as my hopes were shot with this new app
When trying to scroll down the list of jobs, the swipe left/swipe right features are way too sensitive. I’m just trying to go up and down but it keeps swiping left/right instead. The layout is less visually organized, too. Each job takes up too much space and the answered jobs list just throws all the info together instead of having organized columns of info.
You can read and reply to messages maybe. It’s so close to be really useful but without the ability to open private invites auditions, or upload files or even view from Awarded jobs makes it useless (almost). Frustrating to be close to what you need and not be able to do it. Alright- break out the laptop. Can’t wait for it to be functional tho!
The previous app was better. (Previous version was simple, intuitive, and it did support push notifications.) This version does not support push notifications. I already missed one call back. When first opening the app - and attempting to scroll “Answered” jobs - the app will load “Hiring” jobs. Some enhancements are good - such as slide right to archive. Mostly- very disappointing.
The sensitive swiping is really annoying, as others have said. Also app keeps crashing and takes me to my phones home-screen when I try to navigate to my response on jobs I’ve submitted auditions for. Basically useless at this point.
I log-in to the website with Apple ID. It’s a bit clunky, but it does work. However, the App fails with Apple ID. I get an error “OpenSSL unable to sign data.” Doesn’t anyone proof their work anymore? Beyond that, I can’t comment since I haven’t been able to log-in to the app. It seems to me that people browsing for talent should be able to see the app without creating an account first. Another example of bad management.
No push notifications for new auditions or messages. Messaging is buggy, it will show that there are new messages (blue dot) when there are no new messages. Leaving you with a constant concern that you are missing a message. In addition, like the website, the new auditions will not show unless you manually reload the page. A generally disappointing, useless app.
I read the fine print before giving my personal info. No where does it say that you can only apply for a job if you pay a premium to the voice company. I’m sure they scammed many people. I can’t even figure out how to cancel my account. The company should make it clear there are no free trials and that there is a membership fee annually.
I am a guest but for every job that I want to look into they want me to upgrade. So I said guess I don’t get any jobs to try it out. I would like to try it out before I upgrade to see if this works but I’m not gonna pay $100 or $600 just to try an app that nobody is reading hi. Please declined me as a customer and they leave me from your email accounts thank you
You’re basically very limited when it comes down to finding the voice acting job that perfect to you. You have to spend $499 yearly in order to use voices full features, and that something that I don’t have the money for. If you also don’t have the money for it, then this voices is definitely not for you.
Love this site and app. But what makes it truly so wonderful is the staff at voices. They are always super supportive and willing to work out any questions you may have.
I was hoping this app would give me alerts/notifications, but it doesn’t even show up in my notifications center on iOS. To this extent, from my perspective, it does nothing new or useful that can’t be done on a browser. Main things to fix, IMO: - add an option to receive notifications (badges, dings, whatnots) - fix files tab so it loads/shows files - add ability to refine/filter “Completed” jobs - sync “Request Release” button with the browser version. Lmk when you get that done! Cheers
I like the interface and it’s quick to move around between jobs and answered. So that’s nice, but it crashes as soon as I hit the filter button to try to search for relevant jobs.
Wow! An already bad app somehow got worse. -No longer optimized for iPad? Check! -Easy to accidentally erase your auditions? Check! -Changed the names of random things for no reason? Check! Nice work Voices!
This opportunity makes it seem like you can just click a button and get started earning money. They should just tell you in the pro mo video that you need to pay $499 to sign up for premium membership to apply for any of the gigs!! Very disappointing

Slow, clunky trash. Statistics are missing altogether now and one of me revelry awarded jobs can’t be selected. I’m not sure why we would use this? The browser and old app both seem to be more effective.
You go through all the steps to register only to find out the premium membership is $500 per year and that is the only way you can proactively apply for voiceover work. Wish I would have know. Too good to be true.
I’m sure it has potential. I could just be an idiot but how’re you supposed to find work if you can’t even view any of the public jobs without spending $500 on the yearly premium membership.
You have to pay the premium version which is $500 and then you’ll have access to jobs posted. But it’s not guaranteed if the job listed will hire you. This really does sound like a scam!!
I can’t complete my profile. Every time I click on any kind of ad, they say only available for upgraded premium. This is basically a scam. Pretty much can’t get any work unless you pay big money.
I’m having a problem with signing in without using goggle option. I reset my password and trying just normally typing it in and it still will wouldn’t allow me to sign in.
I tried to open the app and the screen goes white. Tried deleting and re-downloading and no fix. After paying the premium, I better be able to use this.
This app is a total disaster! The new update added insult to injury. The messages tab goes to a frozen white screen, scrolling is lagging and the jobs page is buggy, voice demos are gone, and much more. Hire app designers and fire those amateurs.
I can’t even navigate the app unless I commit to their scam—$499/year. I don’t even know how the app works because I can’t log in without paying them. Scam!!!!
When you replace one bad app with another bad app….
I downloaded this app in response to a message in the previous app indicating it had received its final update and to get this one instead. When I found it in the App Store, I was immediately stunned to find but the version number on this app implied it is a beta - an early beta at that. Thinking about it though, I realized the previous app was so bad and so inadequate that a beta of a new app might indeed be better. It isn’t - it’s just bad/inadequate in different ways. As another reviewer put it, this app addresses issues in the old app, but creates many new ones. For example, this app is only formatted for a phone screen format - in this age where many people read their scripts from a tablet, this app doesn’t support that type of device. If you want to select a specific project in the jobs from the hiring list, you can’t just tap somewhere on the entry in the list. You have to tap in a very precise location or it is unresponsive. This version does support small amount of functionality that wasn’t in the previous app. For example, if you are logging in via a third-party such as Google, that is now supported. In the previous app, you had to use a native voices login. I’m going to hope that they are serious about investing in this app. Voices is a platform that definitely would benefit from a well thought out mobile app. Unfortunately, “well thought out“ isn’t some thing I have seen from any part of their app effort as yet. With both of their attempts at a mobile app, I get the sense that someone on their development team really wanted to learn how to do mobile, and they are letting that person develop the app as they have some extra time away from their typical web development. The design of the app implies that they have zero mobile UX experience, and the pace of feature rolled out implies they have a very little functional development experience - at least in mobile.
I mostly wanted this for notifications, since Voices.com notifications are pretty much just emails that sometimes don’t come through. I missed a very important message from a client because I was never notified, so I was hoping there was an app solution. I’ve been a premium member on voices for over 10 years, but recently had most of my work coming from Fiverr. The Fiverr app is pretty good, so I was hoping the Voices app would be, too, or at LEAST be able to notify me of messages. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. This app is basically useless, it’s only real functionality is browsing jobs and responding to messages, except lord knows I wouldn’t trust it to actually send my messages. The timestamps are all wrong for some reason, I literally just sent a message at 10:45am and went into the app and it said 3:45pm (and yes, it displayed my time zone and everything). Hoping this is updated or scrapped for a brand new app (again).
Just downloaded and can’t get verified through google or apple account! Do I even want to? I noticed inapp purchase for premium is 499.99 wow! Read a review that said the only way to see jobs is to pay this amount?
