Breakout Room Problems & No Support

I used Tencent meeting successfully for a full school semester. Then the breakout rooms went buggy. The existing breakout rooms I created previously are working. However, I cannot recreate breakout rooms. I need to use the existing ones I created before the function. For two of my classes, I was frantically trying to solve the problem and deleted the existing rooms (12 rooms) and so now there are only two existing breakout rooms for those classes - I have over 40 students. It's useless now. On top of that, I've searched the internet for solutions and tried looking for a customer service selection and couldn't get any support. The "Feedback" button is also not working so I can't provide feedback to anyone. Perhaps someone will read this review!

Recording Classes?

Are we able to record? I would like to record a few classes. I'm teaching from the US to Chinese university students. Also, if I play a video, they cannot hear the audio if I'm in full screen.

Shady product developed by a shady company - avoid at all cost!

I recently dialed in for a VooV Meeting which was set up by another person using one of the app’s US access numbers. Few weeks later I received an international call bill from my service provider for over USD 700 for the meeting call. Apparently, VooV app dialed a Chinese number without users awareness. Two other meeting participants incurred international call charges as well. I tried to contact Tencent for help, but the answer was “we couldn’t duplicate the problem, so we couldn’t help you...” I can see now why Trump administration is trying to ban Tencent’s apps, such as Tiktok and WeChat.

Compatibility Problem

I have tried to create my VooV account several times hoping this is fixed. So, I am an expat living in China. I have only a Chinese cell phone number. When I try to create my account, it says, “No, if you are a mainland China use, you must use Tencent Meetings.” However, Tencent Meetings is not in the US APP store where I get my Apps! So, therefore I cannot use Tencent Meetings nor can I use VooV. Kind of a big problem for all of the teachers right now in my situation trying to teach our classes using software that is stable in China. Zoom and Skype are not that stable. So, what am I supposed to do?

So close to great but it still needs two things!

I use this software to have meetings with my colleagues in China but it is still missing two key features that zoom has :-( The first one is being able make to draw annotations over the shared screen with the cursor and the second is being able to watch videos with audio from the presenters shared desktop view.

Slick alternative to Zoom

Zoom is overloaded now and has performance and sign up issues. Voov is an alternative that is free for up to 300 user meetings. It is made by TenCent and has better infrastructure backing it up, meaning fewer issues. Both are developed by the Chinese, but Voov doesn’t send your data to Facebook like Zoom does.

1. VooV meeting is unable to sync the meeting schedule to local iOS calendar. Highly recommend to add this function, as iOS calendar is usually the common one place to consolidate schedules from all other apps 2. Suggest to merge the international version with the CN version for better user experience. Now it’s been separated and extremely frustrating for cross boarder users who doesn’t have the CN version and unable to download it from the non-CN App Store

5s lag, Horrible terms, demands phone numbe

You need to sign 3 consents just to get the app open, and you must provide your phone number. The app also probes your local network like printers and your company network structure. The video and audio ids not synced (lags around 1s) and all data goes through China Tangent, as a result even a connection between New York and Beijing or London has 5s lag between speakers. Horrible! Just use zoom or Skype or anything else really.

Works well for meetings between US and China

I use Zoom for the many meetings that I have had online in the US but was having trouble with it using meetings between Boston where I am and my students in China. Using VooV here while my students use TenCent Meeting has worked extremly well over the course of many classes.

Zoom has issues in China, but this is perfect for international calls, thank you Tencent.

Solution to compatible problem

Hi, I think you can change the region of App Store and iPhone to China mainland. Then you will have access to “Tencent Meeting”. Hope it helps.

iPad Pro camera picture is long and weird

This app does not support front facing iPad cameras properly. The picture/video during a conference call is long and weird. Every other video chat app doesn’t have this problem on the iPad (pros). Can’t use this app. My video looks extremely unprofessional.

Mute / Unmute Button Bug

During a conference call the Mute / Unmute button became unresponsive and later it displayed "Muted" while the other person could actually hear what I was saying. How could you screw up the most essential feature for a conference app?

This is a waste of time . Awful

I wonder why I can’t create an account with my mainland phone number? The problem is you don’t have the tencent meeting on the Us App Store! Several months passed and it still wasting ppl’s time like this. Can’t you fix this problem? Or zoom is much better why not using it🤦🏼‍♂️

This app from china and it tried to hack my Google images and hard driver

After installed this app, one day later my Google accountwas hacked,the app log in my Google account and transfer the files in the Google hard driver and the images

Bad user experience. Horrible service

This app clearly doesn’t respect user privacy and data security. Horrible service whenever you try to connect with meetings. Network lags and poor audio/video quality.

Compatibility usage is terrible

Force user sign up with mobile phone, and Chinese mainland have another junk app which user must switch after select +86 mobile number. I have enough good meeting app for daily use. Tencent is no longer a great company anymore.

Bug on M1?

Unable to send messages in group video calls. Happened on my M1 MBP. Otherwise, it works pretty well. I hope this bug gets fixed soon!

You cant finish a serious meeting with this

Reconnecting.... most free ones are better than this one yet our custom insist to use this and spend most time in meeting how good this is. And we can’t question any issue of this app......

No sharing PC audio option

There is no sharing PC audio option in sharing screen. I search online, no solution at all.

Such a stupid software

Shady app

Worst app ever, terrible experience. It doesn’t even allow me to cancel the account, before canceling the account they ask your ID verification!! Avoid this app seriously!!

Concerns

I found that Tencent's app updates are moving in an anti-user direction. Now, I am unable to use custom pictures as virtual backgrounds, nor can I use an OBS virtual camera anymore

Awful app

There is no join meeting option! You need to give Tencent your mobile phone number to use it under the name of verification! Why Tencent want my mobile number for?

Update policy is stupid

Can’t be used in mainland China

As noted in prior reviews, this can’t be used in mainland China and expats can’t access the mainland China App Store readily, making this app useless for those of us living in China.

Bad impression

Just downloaded for an online class that operated with Voov. I have WeChat account but I try to sign up with wechat, Voov doesn’t even provide service. This is disappointing!

Stupid app

I choose China mainland and input China mobile number, then the message inform me to use Tencent meeting. If it is not support users from China, why you put the selection inside the app.

This app discriminate Chinese mainland users

It doesn’t allow mainland users to register. However this app was developed by the one of Internet cartel named Tencent, such a awful action.
