I would give Wallbox 5 stars if it worked on my version 6 Apple Watch. I see the app but it won’t open. Deleting the app and reloading doesn’t work. Other than that, the Wallbox charger it works flawlessly as long as I make sure my Mustang Mach-e is awake when the vehicle programmed scheduled charging session starts. The Wallbox app statistics are just what I wanted. I’ve had three different level 2 chargers and Wallbox is the best. Had some issues early on and got great assistance from the Wallbox tech support. The watch thing for me is no big deal but I’d like it fixed at some time.
Absolutely, positively love my Wallbox charger and this app!! I have successfully used, trouble free, my Wallbox Pulsar Plus L2 charger and this associated app for 4 years and counting. You read that correctly: 4 years! As a self-described greenie, I’ve owned 2 EVs of different make & models, and charged both on an every-day basis, with absolutely no problems, over the course of these 4 years. Zero issues with WiFi or Bluetooth app-to-charger connections, which will be your experience as well if you carefully read the instructions. If you’re an EV newbie, or a garage-charger newbie, hire a licensed electrician (who routinely installs EV chargers) to install yours. Ignore all the silly, idiotically bad reviews. Guaranteed, none of them wrote their nonsensical comments with more than a day, week, or maybe a month of usage. Couldn’t help but shake my head at the silly reasoning for their 1 or 2 star reviews. I laughed out loud of some of the inane, self-inflicted “problems” people have had with this app, or their Wallbox charger, simply because they expected to see it work perfectly without educating themselves on proper installation, setup, and network connection.
When it comes to changing my ev , I need power now , station are not 1/2 miles away they are 15 miles from me and station are down a lot, why I purchased this unit this is my second home power station for xxx company the wall box started out good now won’t update in app always disconnect and 5 try’s later it might connect, we are customers please please share this if you live by EV battery life enough paying high prices for home charger that won’t work or maybe work if the sunshine maybe not I am very upset that I must call in after spending up to xxxx charger + electrician please fix this wall box please customer report wall box if your unable to connect after 5 ties uninstall app .unfortunately Wallbox doesn’t care for it customers, the charger is working app says disconnected really let’s all complain to customer protection, with such high voltage this could result in severe damage to property or lives. My tip with my charger I don’t use the App I turn on main breaker the charger starts my VW id4 app states connected and charging for my VW id4 I look at myVW app then in my car and yes it’s working and charging.
I was looking for a product that offered load sharing and I picked the right one. (After picking the wrong one) I had a juice box that worked fine until the updated the app. Afterwards, one of my 2 juice boxes was bricked. Support was horrible. I looked at Clipper Creek but they recently did a merger with Enphase. They are also expensive AND ugly. Finally, I settled on Wallbox. Support was fantastic…and that was before I bought the units. Installation was fairly straightforward…as was setup. Best tech support I’ve received for anything!!!…in a long time. Mallory and the rest of the crew were excellent. The only thing I would suggest is clarification of the power sharing settings in the manual. Also, the charge holster could be improved with the screw placement securing it to the wall. Overall, this product has meet and exceeded my expectations. Well done.
I’ve had for 6 months hoping it would be better. But no. It’s gone to a point where I’m writing one of the only reviews I’ve written on the Apple Store. It never works the first time. I ALWAYS have to try it multiple times before it finally works. Tesla owners beware!!! This is literally what I do every time I need to charge my Tesla Y or Tesla 3 Plug into the car. Wallbox turns red (error). Unplug the entire Wallbox from the outlet. Plug back in. Error. Unplug. If I’m extra unlucky the app recommends to “Restart” the Bluetooth (to which it will take anywhere from 2-5 minutes). Plug back in. Then it works. I. Do. Not. Do. Anything. It just doesn’t work consistently. So what’s supposed to be seconds to charge takes a few minutes of frustration. It just doesn’t “read” Tesla so it has to be restarted or unplugged several times before it recognizes Tesla is plugged in. Yes, I always make sure the Tesla adaptor is snug (which customer service is the problem when it turns red). Surprised Costco sold this product that doesn’t work consistently :( I’m counting the days til my electrician switches to the Tesla charger from Wallbox. There goes lost money also converting the garage circuit breaker to accommodate the Wallbox setup also (different than Tesla which is more hardwired)
WallBox software developers: Many users have already posted so many good feedback for you on how to improve the app, UI issues, improvements, and missing features. You really have the opportunity to elevate the user experience with app and truly show the potential of the WallBox hardware. So, I hope the company show interest and act on these feedbacks. I had the WallBox installed by a professional electrician specializing in EV charger installation who has installed dozens of them in my town alone. So the installation is done correctly. Unfortunately like many others that have posted here, I faces with Wi-Fi connectivity and software update issue right from the beginning. The app is very basic with many UI issues with test sizes, overlapping or cut off info. ,setting up a schedule, and getting reliable charge session info. After 4 days of using the WallBox, session info shows only for two days out of four!! The app need to show real time current draw, voltage, and other relevant info for the active charging session. I am happy to work with the Dev team, provide screen captures, and test new updates. These are really easy software fixes which I hope get addresses soon. Thx
Can no longer read text on boxes at bottom of app for total energy, total time, total cost. The graphical box overlaps and makes it hard to read the actual values. Under statistics the values are truncated by … instead of just showing the value. You can’t click on each entry for a more granular view. The app is very clunky and requires shutting down the app and restarting to get updated information and that is intermittent at best. It looks like they have a bit of work to do. Interface with Apple Watch is also lacking but will hopefully improve with time. Like why do I always have to press connect to my wallbox on iPhone and Apple it should just be connected when I start the app with options in settings for multiple wallbox owners. Why not use api from web interface?
The app is actually a lot better than I expected. It tells all the basics like time elapsed, total power delivered, and instantaneous charge power. The app is intuitive to use and view. The amount of data has increased over time and with updates. The app disconnects from the charger every several weeks. It takes multiple attempts to reconnect, including power cycling the device. But it always reconnects.
Awesome customer service. Mallory got back to me and went through several things to check in the email. The one that did the trick was to power cycled the wall box by turning off and back on the circuit breaker, and when it restarted, I went back into the app and it said there was an update to apply. Previously that update was there, but it must not have been applied properly. I made the update, and all is well. Very good app and very good customer service.
So happy to report they fixed the bug regarding scheduled charging. this is an absolutely amazing charger, and the app is great too. I’m more disappointed when this broke and stopped charging my car, I sent an email via their website and never got a response when I reached out on social media and through a review here all I was told was to email… Well I did and nobody replied to me. Communication and customer service not A+ but app and device are fantastic.
I expect some users want to fine-tune charge sessions for battery longevity. My situation is easy; I live on the top of a hill. If I charge to 100%, I lose out on 2% of free charge via regenerative braking every morning. Apparently charge limits are available on the Quasar? Please add to the Pulsar/Pulsar Plus!
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling this app twice - the scheduling function does not work, it disconnects from WiFi or Bluetooth quickly and although settings are listed as the correct time zone it operates as if it is in another. I wish I reviewed the app first rather than the charger (which seems counterintuitive).. poor Fisker…trying to sell a good vehicle and now has put its name on a crappy ($595) charger. It wouldn’t be a big deal, but trying to charge at 9pm for better rates, I have to remember every night to go into the garage to connect the charger since the scheduling function doesn’t work.
Fails every test for value. Temperamental to the max; connection faults are blamed on the user or the installation or the WiFi or the current or the internet - likely next excuse will be the misalignment of the planets. Offers no options to dim lights. Tech support does not answer polite emails. Hard to know if the coders are straight out of school or the underlying firmware is unfit for purpose. Would prefer to rate this minus 4 stars for hours out of my life I spent trying to connect to 2 wall boxes 180km apart, both professionally installed and both on the walls of houses with WiFi that works for everything else.
Ok so I need to head out somewhere and wanted to change the charging AMP to the highest so I went to the app. The app had logged me off so I tried resetting the password but 45 mins later and multiple tries I still don’t have the reset email. I don’t know why you would need to log in to use the most basic functions of a charger. I lost time and am stuck at a low 10 AMP rate which is what I normally use. Whenever I am able to reset the password I’m going to set the charging AMP to the highest and NEVER open this stupid app. Will just control the charging rate from the Tesla app instead.
I just had this installed today and after taking the app over 30 minutes to detect my home Wi-Fi I got it connected there. However my main issue is that is constantly has to reconnect even during the SAME session. I’d understand it having to connect when you first open the app, but even when changing menus, really??? This could be a great app with just a few more improvements.
If you have a Wallbox unit, which works great, you have to use this app. Although it should be developed to allow for landscape mode on iPads, the biggest problem is that it does not show charging sessions, which is one of the most important functions of the app. This could be a back end problem with the hardware, but either way it needs to get fixed. Promising app, but the UI needs a lot of attention and a lot of functionality could be added.
Vehicle did not charge because of an update that I was not alerted to
Went to use my car and found that it had not charged at all since I plugged it in yesterday. Took it for a quick ride today and plugged it in again and still nothing. So I checked the Wallbox app and it says I need to run an update to the charger. Where was the alert about this? Why did the charger stop working until I ran an update? Luckily my vehicle is a PHEV and can run on gas or I would have been out of luck!
If you’re having WiFi connection issues: create a separate 2.4ghz network and connect the Wallbox to it. The Wallbox uses an older NIC that has an easier time connecting to 2.4ghz networks. Please give that a shot if you’re trying to set up WiFi and it keeps saying “connection failed, try again”. Nowhere on the app or on their support page does it say that you have to do this for their product. I discovered this fix after 2 hours of losing my mind over it not connecting. Even though I got it working in the end. This company deserves 1 star for their product due to the connection experience. Customers should not have to be doing network engineering to get a simple EV charger to work. Heck, I’ve had a much easier time getting a smart garden timer to connect than with this piece of Spanish-designed tech.
So the whole reason I got a wifi charger was so I could monitor the usage of energy being charged… I can’t do that with the app as it only shows the charging time and the energy shows zero… which is not accurate as my car is at the 100% charge from 25%… I hope this is a current version glitch because if this continues I have to return this thing…
The Wall Box can only connect with Bluetooth. The Wi Fi option is useless does not show any Betsy to connect. Unable to update software maybe when the Wi Fi issue is fixed? On Bluetooth it does provide basic information.
It keeps logging me out, which means I can’t charge the car. Then when I log back in again it says “add your charger,” which of course I have already done. When I try to do it again, it says I can’t, and then I have to email customer service to get it sorted out. I wish I’d ordered a different charger, but now it would be a big hassle to change, not to mention the expense of having the electrician come back. Disappointing.
I have to go back on a previous negative review and update to a positive one. These guys are legit. Had a box installed that failed - granted my patience was thin but they stuck with me and provided a high level of customer support. Shout out to Omar.
For the love of god when will I be able to turn the LED status lights off from within the app. My neighbors want to literally kill me since it shines through there window at night. No need to be on 24/7. Ruining what currently has been a fairly good experience. Also the cord wall bracket screw hole locations are so poorly engineered not app related.
Of course it just won’t connect to the charger. Bluetooth or wifi. In fact, the “connectivity” option in settings is greyed out. I can’t even put in my Wi-Fi info. And Wallbox’s troubleshooting Q&A is just so condescending that they blame everything on the user. “Did you have Bluetooth on?”, “You’re not in Bluetooth range”, “you don’t have good Wi-Fi”. “You don’t have the latest version of the app”. If you expect it to be smart and just works, look elsewhere.
1. Several of the home charges don’t show up in the statistics. It’s not catastrophic, but if I charged my car overnight three days a week, it shows maybe once. What is the point? 2. Schedule seems to follow some arbitrary time zone, perhaps UTC. Again pointless, can it pick local time zone? The charger itself is functional obviously.
I initially had issue that the app is not able to pair between the apps and the charger. Contacted Wallbox customer service and it turns out to be a faulty hardware. Got a replacement charger and now it works like a charm. Great customer services.
Make sure you have a strong wifi signal on your garage, the Wallbox charger will struggle to keep a stable connection to wifi even when other equipment in your garage have no problem connecting.
The device works fine, but the app is very basic. The ui needs a revamp. Needs a better siri or shortcut integration. Alexa app integration hardly works. For similar price chargepoint has better ui and app features. These shouldn’t be too hard to implement.
Just like the title says. I installed the Wallbox this weekend and fired it up. Charges fine. Installed the app. Updated firmware and now the Wallbox won’t connect to wifi. Very little useful information in the app. I’ll end us using the Mach E to control charging. Why is creating a simple app that is dependable so hard? 😒
All the reviews from over two years to current consistently reported connectivity issues and lack of functionality and appeal in the app. This is a real issue and if Wallbox is unable to solve the problem by now it may never solve it short of designing a different hardware that works with an app.
Terrible product as well as the service. Go far charge point for a better experience and save the hassle for yourself it's been 3 months and ever since electrician instead is giving me problems now it's just stop working and they taking their time to replace it
App never works right. I installed the wallbox because our condo has absolutely no Wi-Fi in the subterranean basement and this one comes with Bluetooth. But, with that said, I can’t push updates to the wallbox as I have no cell or WiFi service down there and Bluetooth never seems to work. Im very frustrated with this product!
The charger itself is fine but the app is problematic. The recent update added the time zone new feature, which messed up my schedule charging. Despite many email exchanges with the custom services, the issues remained after many attempts to correct the issue. Sigh…
I’m mainly giving it five stars cuz the charger is so compact and aesthetically pleasing. The app is great too but the combo of it all - I highly recommend this app and this charger to anyone.
Whatever unknown reason to me, I can’t open and simply go to my charger anymore.( Home Charger). It would ask me all sort info to log in then ask to add charger then it is already in the account but will not show the charger then keep asking over and over. WTH did you guys do?!?!
Got the Wallbox EVSE and set it up. Immediately set a schedule a sure enough it did not run. I had tested the charger to make sure it works so not sure why it did not run on time. The app is very clunky and could be better. Good hardware that relies on an app is nothing is the app is garbage.
Total energy insight for the year shows $0.05 total Too easy to knock the huge blue circular current slider to an unwanted amperage If this were my business I’d probably be quite embarrassed about this app.
The sign in does not work. Tried creating account with two different emails but same error ‘There has been a problem. please try again later’. Waited and tried/tried but nothing.
App seems to only connect via Bluetooth cannot connect to internet. The Bluetooth connection keeps crashing. Very unreliable. No charge time settings. Fir the cost against competitors it should have these options!!
