For the most accurate weather forecast I use the TV to app. It’s accurate and is right at my fingertips. I like being able to check the long range forecast.
I am terribly disappointed in the new way that weather appears when tapping the weather tab in the WBAY app. This recent update to the WBAY app FORCED me to download the different WBAY Weather app to get any weather information. Instead of quickly glancing down on the WBAY app to check on the current temperature, now, when I tap the weather tab it immediately shifts me to an additional WBAY weather which is saturated with too many ads, unrealistic graphics, smaller print and overly bold colors that make it difficult to locate and read the actual weather and temperature. It is overwhelmingly busy and displeasing to the eyes. And believe it or not, it triggers an immediate eye strain for me when I am only trying to read the forecast. I REALLY wish I could still be able to enjoy the older version of WBAY weather which was easy on the eyes with very simple to read and understand graphics and symbols, a cool color scheme (blues and purples), all on one screen (instead of flipping between four different screens), that I would look up so very often throughout every single day. I now try to avoid looking up weather on WBAY and am having to consider a different local weather app even when I trust the WBAY forecast the most. Is there anything I can do to revert back to the old style of weather on the WBAY app?
The reviewer from March 17 has this exactly right. The previous version was perfectly fine. There was absolutely NO reason for a revision of this app. It worked fine. This is nothing but the typical case of changing something that didn’t need changing. I swear that WBAY changes their weather app because they are paying some developers and they try to justify their jobs. The changes to the new weather app make no sense. You now are assaulted with a meteorologist as soon as the app opens. People don’t want that. They use a weather app for weather stats. They are NOT interested in weather personalities. You are, but customers are NOT. Most of the changes are illogical. Smaller weather map(radar) with Meteorologist hogging the screen. It’s TOO cluttered and in your face. As the March 17 reviewer said, you obviously do NOT pay attention to feedback. Either you change the opening page and give more room to radar or I’m DELETING it. And I’ve had this app in one form or another for several yeas. I’ve had it, however, with these idiotic and unnecessary changes ! Btw, I went and downloaded some weather apps from other stations that were identical to the PREVIOUS Storm center 2 weather app. I liked them much better and use them more than this app. That should tell you about making these UNNECESSARY revisions.
Love your app. Been using it for years. The only reason this is not 5 star is the latest update is putting out way too many notifications. Getting many notifications per day when no severe weather is just annoying. Also is Wisconsin, so when it's frozen outside I don't need to be reminded that there could be slippery spots. Geeze.
The main reason I use the app is to see the radar and the approaching storms. I didn’t give 5 stars cause the push notifications are really slow, meaning, it’s been raining or snowing or even lightning for 10 or 20 minutes and than the weather app sends me a message that lightning or rain or snow has been detected in my area... I mean really? Are you sure? Oh wait I knew that 10 minutes ago. Other than that I like app.
I used to like your weather app. I cannot believe you changed to the same very poor design that two Madison stations went to. Does no one read reviews? This is a horrible design. It doesn’t change to landscape mode, it takes a long time to load, it shows such things as moon phase and UV index instead of more pertinent weather info such as wind speed and humidity. Someone somewhere has built a design that is awful and must have one heck of a sales department because in spite of horrible reviews, new stations are switching to it. Very sorry you fell victim to the same terrible design.
I love the app. I like the radar because it gives you so much more info than most other places. Although, it doesn’t update very often. It takes 5-10 minutes to update the map and the map will always be several minutes behind from where you are now. Besides this, I love the app!
This app provides the best information in a readable format. All bases covered in the range of topics offered from current to future. I check everyday and it’s accurate too! Thank you👍😃
This app performed so poorly I deleted it and reinstalled it. It still was a total pain. I deleted it again and loaded a different news station’s app. The competitors app works great. Maybe WBAY should have done some beta testing or something? I can’t understand how they could roll out such a defective app. Perhaps it was the cheapest app to purchase??
I liked the previous site but am getting used to this one. I enjoyed knowing the number of hours in the day but I guess I can do the math. Over all I trust WBAY and enjoy the information given.
Forecasts are accurate and frequent updates as needed throughout the day when there is a potential for major storms! Able to get forecasts for areas that I travel to!
I work at a golf course and I use this app every night and morning to check out the weather so I know what to wear whether it’s cold or raining excellent app
Love getting our local forecasts, but it’s only useful when I’m at home with our whole network ad blocker. When I’m out and about, the ads cover the daily and hourly forecasts entirely, making it much less useful.
The biggest thing about this app that makes it no longer a good app is that it is incredibly slow. It can take a minute or two to actually load. There is no reason for this at all. More graphically intensive games will load fast! I just want to get the forecast or check the radar in under a minute. The old version was so much better, fast stable and an overall better app.
This app used to be very good and still has excellent features. But it does not work! Every time you use it you have to close it completely and restart it otherwise it does not work. When I look at the battery usage it’s all ways at the top of the battery usage. Too bad because I really liked this app.
The old app was MUCH better. That seems to be a theme with all weather apps. The radar is less accurate and moves too fast. It must be a difficult job to ruin a good thing but someone was willing to do it.
The app hasn’t been working for me, keeps saying this application not currently available in your area. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn’t. It never had this issue before but since the last update it hasn’t worked. Very disappointed because I love WBAY.
We need to know weather fast. Out here in the country there are no whistles. I go to the app and have to wait for their ad to go away about swiping, then it froze up when I’m trying to scroll down. This isn’t good for fast info when we need it.
I’ve had the app for quite a while but it’s performance is horrible so I deleted it and was going to reinstall hoping for better performance but that didn’t happen. I like WBAY news but the on the go app and weather apps are too full of ads and performance is terrible. Deleting once again!
There isn’t a good weather app anywhere. K.I.S.S ...... KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID Really pertains to the weather . This app gets stuck in the Radar mode ! It really isn’t a satisfactory app. I got rid of it twice. This is the last time. Apparently no improvements in the last year When ya gonna fix this app!
Too many adds! Then there are weather alerts for good weather? We are too busy to be bothered with the nonsensical stuff. Forecasts and a good radar shot. I understand the need for ads but please not so many.
Right now shows current temp of 90 and today’s high as 85 on the daily calendar. The app shows tomorrow’s high as 83, but their website lists 92 so they aren’t even the same. The forecast temps change multiple times per day, and usually drastic changes. Good for radar, that’s about it.
I really despise the full screen pop up ads that now appear. They’re a nuisance and it’s just spam ads. Deleting this app for a different weather radar one because they all feed off the same satellites.
You’re better off looking out the door, glitchy crappy radar that takes several tries before it shows motion. Used on a trip out west, as inaccurate as can be.
I've stopped relying on this app to dress my son for the day. It's frequently way off the mark. I've also noticed that it contradicts the predictions in their broadcasts -- and even contradicts the videos they post within the app itself.
