This app is way better than expected for a small town weather app. I depend on the weather for many of my hobbies and the forecasts/radar on this is 5/5 stars. It’s free and does all of the things other apps do but want you to spend money on (which is way I’m really enjoying it).
Best app I have put on my phone in a long time. Accurate and reliable and the notifications have come in handy. I do hope to see some “weather stats” on there eventually, like normal high/ low, record high/low and rainfall totals. I’m a weather junky and this would make the app complete in my mind. A tornado warning just interrupted my tv, so I opened this app. First you have to wait a while until the app actually starts. Then you have to watch a commercial. Then you click on the streaming video of the local talent giving the info…but the report is four hours old. There are much better weather apps out there. Too bad, since the WHSV weather team is quite good when doing their segments on the local news programs. It’s the app that’s not particularly useful.
I’ve used the WHSV Weather app for a long time and put up with all the ads. However the political poll ad that started showing up today takes over the app. You can’t close the ad or wait it out. It forces you to press “Learn More”, which takes you to another website. So I had to turn my phone off and on again to get it to go away. I tried one more time to go to the weather app and same thing happened again. So I’ve deleted the app. Completely frustrating and ridiculous!!
I appreciate all the information on the app but sometimes there are contradictions and it would be nice to ask the weather folks a question about , for example, why there info differs from the NWS.
I love the simple fact that I can now get locally forecasted weather right away rather than having to navigate through the WHSV app or site. Aubrey always seems to be more accurate than my Apple weather app as well.
Could Stephanie please say “dress warmly” instead of “dress warm”? One should use an adverb instead of an adjective after a verb. She does such a good job and I appreciate her forecasts. Thanks!
I understand that app developers need to make money but this is ridiculous. When I have a need to know my local weather I do not need to be redirected to the App Store to download a game app. I’m going to stick with Weather Bug. They do a much better job of forecasting my daily weather. This app used to be good. Now it’s like they’re begging you to watch them on TV instead
Got app to keep updated on local weather. Slow loading video ads usually keep me from watching video and impede access to the rest. Too bad because it has many nice features I’d like to use more.
You are the greatest meteorologist. I can depend on your weather forecasts. Your dresses are so beautiful. Loved the green dress u wore on St Pats day. Where do u get these beautiful dresses from.
Why not have a paid app instead of the ridiculous ads. App throws you out then have to go back in to see ad again. Poor quality! Aubrey is only great thing (person) about WHSV!! Everything else is substandard including app!
The weather will not pull up. I have tried all your recommendations to fix it. Everything else seems to work, but the weather will not and that is the single most important part of your app.
It asked me to pinpoint my location, which I did, then... nothing. No 'enter' button, no instructions, no way to leave that screen. So I can’t evaluate the weather app because I can’t get to it!
It is 5:45pm and high wind/stormy. But my app doesn’t mention any of that. (Wed.). My trees are laying over, in Mt. Crawford. Thank you. Scary! Jill Peachey
The “Follow Me” function shows me the weather for Quito Ecuador (I’ve never been there) sometimes and does not show my proper location until I power my phone off and on. Restarting the app doesn’t seem to help.
