This app has truly done a great wonder in my life. I’ve been struggling with the addiction of pornography since the age of 6 and I am now 20 years old. Throughout those years I always wonder if I would ever be able to defeat the addiction and grew hopeless because it was so easily accessible and I never could fight the temptation no longer than a couple of days. I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 2017 and that was the only time I quit cold Turkey and didn’t watch porn for almost a year. My life was great! But one day I fell and there my life became a horror story again because of this addiction. Trying to fight the urges on my own once again became too difficult. Feeling ashamed I kept this dark secret to myself. But just recently I decided enough was enough and began to fight back. First I told a few trusted colleagues what I struggled with and that helped life the first stone off of becoming free. I then decided to give this a chance and from the beginning I new it wouldn’t disappoint and boy was I right. I can now say that I am truly free from this addiction and my life is so much better. My relationship with Jesus has grown and his hand has truly moved in my life. Thank you so Migiri from the bottom of my heart. The world needs to to know about you!!
Although I can’t afford the cost of the app, the premise of it seems amazing. Not only that, but the consistent responses and updates from the developers for more than a year is something that needs to be recognized. I’ve been struggling with porn for about 3 years and have tried and failed multiple times on my own to quit. It’s apps like these, though, that give you that kind of strength to start again. Too much is sexual content gratified and normalized at younger and younger ages, but people and communities like this help make a change for the better. Educating, reaching out, and just generally showing people that we’re not alone in this is something I cannot even begin to thank the developers of this app for
Every person who has an issue with porn, needs to download Migiri, plain and simple. Brainbuddy offered me lots of great wisdom, but Migiri is the one that took my by my ear and dragged me (dragging me) through this crazy journey of learning a new reality, and how much everything I understood about the world was a lie. It’s crazy. Migiri blocks any attempt, hooks you up with a therapist that specializes in this (this therapist is an AMAZING person, and has changed my life!). I thought I was completely lost. I thought I was damaged or somehow genetically flawed. It’s this lie and legal drug of this sexualized culture that takes young people and drafts them into a world of being enslaved to a disease. Thank you Migiri, I’m a different person because of you
This app is worth every dollar. I know it isn’t accessible to a lot of people just because of the cost, but if you can afford it… Get it! Your mental health will appreciate the investment. I got hooked on porn when I was 11 with no guidance and no one to educate me of the consequences it would create. Over a decade of porn use, but Migiri has made recovery from pornography a tangible reality for me. I actually feel a sense of agency and power with how my habits are managed which I never had previously. From guided meditations, journaling prompts, informed teachings, peer support, and the opportunity to get connected with Clinical professionals to talk to… Migiri provided the support I needed to achieve my goals for improved mental and sexual health.
The subscription it asks for at the beginning is for a full year, (which is a big commitment when I was under the impression I could pay monthly) and it does not specify which card it will be using for the transaction when that day comes… nor can I change my account information once it’s put in. And I would like to have an ability to put multiple partners in. That would be super helpful. As well as a personized passcode that locks a person out of certain functions in the app- like deleting it, or your partners or anything of the sort. Otherwise fantastic app so far… Update: Once I’ve committed the Yearly subscription makes for some peace of mind not to have to keep up with it. Also, this app works amazing.
to be able to say i am free from pornography is a major achievement for many years i struggle with porn i would have moments where i felt like i was breaking free from porn i would fall right back into porn. not with this strategy & courses i highly recommend this program to anyone struggling with pornography. i love working with the wonderful people to help you on Battle with porn i can really say i got the victory to overcome this addiction i have really enjoyed going through the courses & exercises having a coach is Awesome i feel amazing.
If you’re someone with a mild/moderate addiction I think this app is effective and worth the money. I was someone that wasn’t necessarily addicted to Porn watching multiple times a day but would often have problems controlling my random impulse. It’s helped me kick my habit and I can say I’ve been free for the longest time in the last 5 or more years. The reason I say it’s good for someone with a moderate problem is because as others have stated there’s some sites that aren’t protected by this app. If you’re not a person that just casually fires up PH or another well known site then you probably need more help than an app can provide. I think it’s about as effective of a tool an app can be to help you on your porn free journey.
This app is amazing it blocks stuff, but the Internet connection is not very good. Like if I wanna watch some thing it takes forever for it to load and when I switch back to another VPN it works perfectly fine the show I mean or whatever I’m doing on the Internet, but when I switch back to Migiri, it doesn’t work I was wondering if you could fix that developers Apple. recently downloaded an app called Brainbuddy and it works way better than this one doesn’t use a VPN. This app stinks. Because the fact that you have to use 2 VPNs, which isn’t possible and the app is just better than this one. It has the Safari extension allow you to look at I don’t know it’s really cool. I would really like it if you made the apps VPN I don’t know.
I honestly signed up and paid for the year unknowingly but once I tried the full subscription I’m thankful and beyond shocked how well it does in ensuring you cannot visit any banned sites or see such content. The yearly payment also makes me commit to it and I’m tempted to delete it just to watch but when I know it’s a year commitment I don’t. If it was month to month I’d definitely fall into the temptation
Good idea with the companion, but it could use a few tweaks
My partner is aware of my addiction, so when I saw the companion option, I thought it was going to be a surefire way for me to quit. I thought it would text her or send her a notification whenever I tried to access a blocked website, but instead it’s an email. Emails take longer to go through, and on phone it doesn’t send a notification, it’s just whenever you look at it. If there’s anyway the app can be updated to include a notification or text, it’d be perfect. My partner would happily contribute her number if needed.
I liked it, it was an awesome idea of redirecting and alerting people when I looked at certain things. The problem was it didn’t block every site and I would just constantly obsess over the websites it didn’t block, but blocking every site that shows things of that nature is a huge task that would have to block off a whole section of the internet. which is why I feel it didn’t work for me at the time. I felt like I relied on it too much and used it more of a crutch without learning how to walk on my own. So in conclusion I think it’s an awesome program with great ideas but I also think that it’s not gonna work for everyone.
I feel like this is a wonderful app, and it has great benefits. It’s suppose to help people that struggle with this addiction and just like everything else to get help in this world it always has to be money involved and the yearly cost shouldn’t be so high. I’m not in a position to pay that much money for help in something I’ve struggled with for so long. I’m thankful for the 1 week free trial and I hope it makes a difference until I’m able to pay for the yearly cost but as of right now I’m a little disappointed that I won’t be able to enjoy this app for to much longer :(
My experience was lackluster. I found that using my wife as somebody who I could use to help track and keep me on target was a great feature, however this tool has had a difficult time distinguishing between news articles through reputable sites like the New York Times, CNN or KRON4 and porn. Today I remove the app because multiple times it thought it detected porn while reading news articles about shootings or somebody being stabbed inside of a target in Los Angeles. The final straw came while on a zoom call, I received notification that I failed, but I didn’t even look at porn. The algorithm need some tweaking.
Faulty Streak Tracking with the VPN and Signal Loss
Your streak staying alive is entirely dependent on whether the VPN is active in your device settings, which is understandable because that tracks any exposure to explicit content. But if your device loses signal entirely, it will likely mistake that as you manually shutting off your VPN and thus trash your streak over it. I traveled to a convention where the building had no signal, and I was notified to turn my vpn back on, when I opened the app my streak was gone. Then a few weeks ago I set my phone down to take a nap in my home and when I woke up I had the same notification and I lost my streak AGAIN. I contacted support immediately and they wouldn’t or couldn’t restore my streak over this. My streak was very motivating and it’s now gone. I would ask that you guys make it possible to restore streaks if we reach out to support for that (most anyone that invests into this app is not gonna lie to recuperate an otherwise meaningless reward) Besides this I do enjoy the meditation feature, it’s very calming with my anxiety and depression as well.
After only 24 hours I feel like this app has already done what I was hoping it would do except there are a couple unexpected things that do not live up to expectations. 1 the weekly sessions cost extra on top of the already inflated price. On the website it says 10 bucks a month but it’s 150 a year, something isn’t adding up. 2 yes it seems to be blocking things, but it’s also blocking my pandora radio which is one of my most used apps. I don’t quite understand the software problems but it’s extremely unfortunate.
Seems like a great app. Haven’t tried it out yet, but if there was a monthly subscription it’d be easier to commit to. I’m assuming the yearly subscription is to help you manage the addicition and stay committed to it, but being able to cancel anytime defeats that logic. Would absolutely subscribe if there was a monthly option. Easier to budget. I’d (as I’m assuming others would too) be more inclined to move to another app like CovenantEyes or Fortify even without the features Migiri has just because they allow monthly budgeting.
1) I’m cool with capitalism and making profits. What annoys the Heck out of me is saying you have a free feature, such as a try free before you pay period, except, that you pre-arrange for payment beforehand and somehow imply the free week is baked into the app annual price which in turn builds in the next price hike the following year at a rate of “future cost = current cost + (1/52 of current cost)+RoI.” Apps aren’t tangible and the companies that offer a free test period should not be taking payment details until after 7 days free use by the consumer. Or they shouldn’t be allowed to falsely advertise especially not within categories like Health and Wellness and Subcategories such as Addiction.
The app is great but if possible there should be an option or a way to never allow to remove the app. Like for example if you turn on this option and you try to remove the app you will be charged $50 or more if you do it
Blocks x-rated websites, but cant tell when Im using google safely…
70% of the of the time I cant use Safari because most of my SFW searches trigger the relapse prevention notification. I actually left my phone alone for a week except for work and to check my progress. I checked my progress at work on day six and the challenge automatically failed. Got discouraged and turned the app off for over two weeks. Opened it up again, and automatically got the 2-week badge. only app I’ve ever used that actually blocks porn sites, too buggy to be worth what they're charging.
I clicked the (7 day free trial) button and was IMMEDIATELY charged $144 for a 1 year membership. ================================= Emailed Migiri and they basically told me it was Apple’s problem. Tough luck. After contacting Apple, they didn’t seem to find an issue with an app that sets “free trial” traps like this. Criminal app developers who prey on individuals seeking help. Migiri stole $144 from me through manipulative app platform tactics and is taking no accountability for it and Apple isn’t enforcing anything. Money trap/Scam/Garbage app. ⚠️BEWARE⚠️
I’ve been using the app for about 2 weeks now, and although I do like it a lot and it helps reduce the urge to look up porn. I also noticed not only does it block porn but also non porn related websites. I was trying to look bc at a comforter and I was unable to access the website and then I’d get a notification saying to reduce the urge. This has happened every time I try to access this website. Other than that it’s been fantastic
I love the multi-level support and consistent blocks and flags. However, I have no way to communicate with a tech support to fix a perception by Migiri that I've watched porn.. when I haven't. I'm writing a self-published primer on initial addiction recovery (1st 180 days). Twice Migiri thot I have watched when I was on innocent educational sites researching. Im actually sober right at 115 days but can't correct when app resets. Solution?
The app was working good for about the first 2 months and then it just stopped out of nowhere. My spouse no longer receives emails or notifications when the vpn is turned off or i try to access something. I reached out to migiri support a week ago and have yet to get any response. I am extremely disappointed as this is a costly investment for an app on the phone. Do better migiri. There are people out here struggling and you don't even respond back when they reach out. Extremely disappointed. Going to take my money elsewhere.
download the app, given an offer for a free 7 day trial and then 1 year of use payed after the 7 days. Turns out i didn’t like it. Canceled it. I get charged. Apple says can’t refund. I’m curious to why. So when i was trying to fix my addiction, which i didn’t cure obviously given my recent attempts, the last time I guess I tried this apps one of the many attempts to save myself back then. Anyways, given the fact I’m only human I forgot. Well, they didn’t. But they offered me the free trial. It’s not my fault I took it. Either way they will scam you. Watch out.
For 120$ a year you can have a app that monitors everything you search, and blocks porn or a bunch of other things aswell half the time. The 60$ for 6 months is a clever way to guarantee profits regardless of cancellations of service. Instead of buying this app that’s very easily circumvented, put 10$ in a jar for every month you don’t watch porn. Change you want comes from introspective review of your mentality around porn. A blocker app just watches everything you look up and do and god knows who they give this information to.
The app does its job, but needs redevelopment for Mac, where you can clearly see that more exercises, learnings, and workouts (3/4 of available short-term resources) are necessary. The tiles need to be sized up along with buttons and their font. It's clearly designed for iPhone. The chatbot is rudimentary and elementary. It needs more games, and then it might actually work. But the VPN works fine. the "reason" displays too long, though. I get why, but no.
I like the app a lot. It’s really helpful and has been a really good tool for me. I would like the app so much more if the blocker could also be applied to apps. There are so many apps that I could get that display stuff I’m trying to stay away from and it would be really helpful if there was a way for me to block those on this app so I can’t access them.
This app saved my marriage. If it wasn’t for this app I’d be homeless and alone. I love the lessons and the way they walk you through recovery and actually help hold you accountable. 10/10 would recommend to anyone struggling with this disease. Definitely worth every penny
Since I have installed this app, I cannot connect to anything with cellular data. I can only connect when connected to WiFi. Seems to work well other than this, but it’s not really possible to use the app when this is happening. It may be a user error but I cannot figure it out and there are little to no instructions anywhere.
I love the app it really helps with my problem I have my gf as my partner on it so she can keep me accountable but I wish there was a way we could have our partner in charge of the apps and websites that are blocked so I can’t delete them and go on them if that makes sense
I download the app…. I confirm free trial. I get a notification from a GAME “Landfall” is the game. Every 5 seconds i would get a notification “relapse prevention” there is nowhere to say “this is not porn!” I’m looking for help and I immediately deleted it because I’d rather read 1,000 books for help then deal with an app telling me I’m watching porn when I’m playing a pg rated game… $120 a year is not bad, but for someone who doesn’t have a job and my addiction plays a role in that, it’s just all little overwhelming.
This is hands down the most underrated app and I think it serves a great purpose that not many people talk about. That being said there are flaws within the application, i.e not all porn websites are covered, dating apps are not covered, etc. I think a few updates could go a long way with this. Thanks for your help.
The app contains no way to add websites that are a personal problem to you. I wrote the co-creator and was politely told they would not help. App seems to work fine for blocking visual sites. The daily exercises are a nice feature. But without the ability to block chat sites that are a problem for me, I have not gotten any better.
It’s a great app but I’m having a big problem not being able to filter out the twitter app/site. It worked for Reddit but not twitter/X. Does anyone else have this issue ?
Great app for blocking content on your phone. Provides that extra barrier that prevents you from relapsing to porn easily. It really needs to have support on other devices though. If I can just go on my laptop whenever I’m blocked on my phone it reduces the effectiveness of this app.
Mixed Feelings: Great Motivator but Big Battery Drainer
- I like the concept of getting these stickers/badges and that available materials expand as you keep going along your progress - I don’t like that it’s a significant drain on my battery from background activity - So far, course content has felt surface level but nonetheless decent. I’m hoping it gets better as I earn more badges
The concept of the app is good and I was willing to spend the high price on it but I don’t think I’m going to resubscribe due to the fact that it will give me and my partner notifications on all kinds of non-porn sites such as banking, news, and insurance apps. Just today my boss was using my phone to set up my health insurance app and it flag it and said I need to get my porn addiction under control. Very embarrassing.
It is a great thing truly but the price. As a younger individual I would love to create something like this entirely free made by donations of some sort although knowing that would be hard, I just have come to dislike this app for the sole purpose of the price I’ve just done the free trial and am cancelling it due to me not being able to pay, skill issue I suppose. But I will not go back to old habits! W/o this app.
The fact that there are people who are struggling with porn, and this app made it seem like you can have that hope to quit. It then asks you to pay? Like if you want to help people out. Let it be a free service. Why pay for something that’s harming your life? I have a voice, and I wanted to share my personal opinion on this. May God be with those who are seriously struggling with this. It’s hard, but you’ll get through it.
I’m not sure how long my current period covers, but Migiri has used 172gb out of 232gb of data. That’s 75% of my total data usage! It’s more than all of the other apps and system services combined and doubled. Not sure what I’d do if I didn’t have an unlimited plan.
My time has been re set and it has caused massive problems with me and my fiancé I have not been to any sites and I have not turned off the vpn, I got zero notifications and zero warning. I opened the app yesterday to find that there is a new update and when I got to the Home Screen the time re set. My fiancé thinks I had a relapse when I didn’t.
It needs to be more strict with adult content. Sometimes when you open Twitter, it won’t block adult content, or if you are looking for a pair of shorts online, it will not stop adult content either. It’s very selective in what it blocks, but it is still one of the better apps.
Unfortunately I have to give 1 star - when connected to the VPN I can’t listen to music on Pandora. It stays in an endless loop of buffering. Turn off VPN and it instantly starts playing. Turn it back on and it buffers once the current song is on. Since my wife is my accountability partner, she probably thinks I was watching P*** while with my son, when in reality, we were just trying to listen to music.
I was surprised to see it not work at all on safari and chrome incognito mode. What is the point of filter if the the main avenues people use to view porn does not work. I thought this filter might be it but was disappointed. I am convinced now nothing man made can solve a spiritual problem. But it does work on regular browsers why I gave it 2 stars.
Love the app, it really is rewarding to see your progress. Having a toll to help guide you in the right direction during times where we’d relapse is incredibly beneficial. Just remember, it’s a tool, not the solution.
The ONLY thing I would change about the app, is the notifying of someone else. Make that into texts instead of emails and I think this app would be perfect
Only 1 day in but just what I needed. Easy to use and great extras besides just being a blocker to prevent access it gives you resources to better yourself and your relationships.
I really like this app because it seems to be the only one of its kind that has iPhone, ipad and Mac applications thus I can have all digital access points covered.
I asked a question to support when I first got this app a couple weeks ago (I have tried to contact them twice now) and have not heard back from them. However the app seems to work well.
